I've been going to this gym for almost 2 years. It's clean and big. The staff is also very friendly. My only problem is the lack of management. I was working out in my usual spot with a mat and free weights when a woman propped up her camera on a tripod and immediately started verbally harassing people who had no choice but to walk in front of her camera. Suddenly she props it a couple inches from my mat. When I asked her to move it, she literally freaked out on me. called me a white bitch, and a Karen, and told me I should go to a white gym. She did this along with another woman who was backing her up. I complained to the staff immediately, but there were only 2 very young girls at the desk who were probably clueless as to how to handle this monster. I ended up moving my mat to avoid more conflict. I went to the gym a couple days later and was taken aside by the supervisor. He asked what happened, I explained and he apologized. All was okay at this point I was just going to avoid her. I went into the room I always work out in and picked a spot in the far corner thinking this would be away from most people in case the crazy racist lady with main character syndrome was there. I worked out for about 15 minutes when I noticed the woman who ganged up on me was with the other crazy lady was working out right next to me. When she was done she turned to me and accused me of following her around trying to get in her camera shots. She then called me a creepy stalker and that I should stay away from her before she beats my ass. I quietly walked away, went home and changed my gym location. The whole point of this is, there is a lack of management and oversight at this gym. These two women are filming people without their consent. And I was accused of purposefully aiming to be in her camera shots. These people's ego's are so fragile, they think some stranger who barely recognizes them are paying attention to what they're doing. If I called someone a black b at the gym I'm pretty sure I'd be kicked out. read more

This is definitely one of the nicest planet fitness locations I've visited. The design of the gym is comfortable and smartly put together. I like how the downstairs and upstairs separate the functionalities inside. Upstairs is dedicated to working out and as you head out downstairs, the main floor is the rest and recovery room. I enjoy this location and how clean it is also. Always seems to be packed full of people and staff taking care of things. read more

Very poorly managed . This is the worse PF that I've been to ! Too many broken Machines , even a broken sink & no soap in soap dispenser in the ladies room. The towel dispensers in gym are not always full. You never see staff member upstairs to clean or monitor anything . Terrible !!! I was the first Yelp Elite member who reviewed Clifton PF and gave 5-stars. It is my home gym even though I have a few PFs near home, since I saw its value over distance as I noted in my previous review. I have been noticing the maintenance of this facility deteriorating over time. My wife kept complaining that the sinks in the women's room were so dirty, one of them was covered with a white plastic, and used papers on the floor. One of the urinals is out of order in men's room, including the same condition as the former. Staff at the front desk are usually kind, but for some reason, I see problems in the maintenance and cleaning routine. Years back, I saw a senior staff teaching younger staff how to clean the equipment and the space including the mirrors and sinks, which I don't witness anymore. I wanted to post some photos but decided not to, since they look filthy and might not be appropriate for others. I hope these issues are addressed in timely matter. read more

I love the Clifton location. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The locker room is well maintained and clean and even the people who attend the gym have some of the best etiquette I've experienced. Everyone is super friendly and just worried about their workout and make sure to wipe down their equipment after use. You never feel even a tad bit uncomfortable when trying new workouts because everyone is so hyper focused into what they are doing. The layout of the gym is super easy to understand and find exactly what you're trying to target. The biggest pro about this location is the easy parking. read more

I've been to PF in Bayonne, Jersey City, Livingston, Bellville and one in Puerto Rico...this location is my favorite. - Free Parking - Accessible by bus - Clean - Nearby other business for errands (food, CVS,autozone, homedepot, etc) - Flow/layout makes sense (mirror placement, dumbbells placement). 1.5 years later .... No Managment. No maintenance. No ownership. NO NOTHING. They buy new equipment and stack on top of the old with out REPAIRING ANYTHING.... 6 plus benches still wobbling around... seats missing screws. Equipment slipping as it is lose. On and on. Pretty nice Planet Fitness. 1) Though it is not my favorite Planet Fitness, it is close by and has some nice qualities to it. 2) The Black Card area is cozy, I do enjoy it. Come to the Black Card area to relax before or after my workout. 3) Lots of parking in the lot, which is nice. read more

Convenient and mostly clean in the gym area itself. As a Black Card member I did not feel like I was encouraged to use the Black Card perks a lot by staff themselves. Lots of machines were broken / breaking down in my time there. For the price, it felt worth it for me but I mostly stuck to cardio and easy free weights. Can get very crowded at peak times with some clutter waiting for popular areas and machines. read more

Good location, large, reasonably clean. Great value for the $$. It's often very crowded though. PF Staff - can I make a request? MORE DUMBBELLS. There are like 200 cardio machines but only 1 or 2 sets of 15, 20, 25, 30 lb dumbbells. These precious dumbbells are almost never free and available. Fitness trends have changed, more people are doing strength training now vs just cardio. The quick answer might be "there's no room" but, you know, everything is a decision. The 200 pieces of cardio equip were a decision. If you could make it a priority to put in a few more sets of dumbbells, a lot of us members would be grateful. They don't cost much compared to high tech machines etc. Help us out! Ok rant over :D thanks (update Aug 9) To "Business Manager" - I tried giving feedback onsite but the staff person at the desk said there's no way to do that. They said requests just get sent up the chain to to the Regional Manager and "no one knows what happens after that." Place is horrible and the manager Zack is rude and not very informative. Told me I cannot speak to anyone higher than him. There is no one higher than him on sight...ummmm then give me the phone number for the person OFF sight. I will not be part of a gym that throws members out for the wrong reasons. Didn't throw me out but cancelled a persons membership because they had a valid concern/complaint. And that's why your stocks are doing horrible....I cancelled my membership and did not want to pay the renewal fee since I canceled on 3/30/24 and the renewal fee would begin on 4/5 or 4/6 I don't remember but he said it didn't matter and I had to pay it and I couldn't talk to anyone else about it. Apparently when it comes to any discrepancies you can only speak to the location that you are a member at. Horrible customer service the man literally laughed in my ear like a child. read more

Not a safe environment, very hostile employees. I wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a safe friendly gym. Also the bathroom is very unkept with a lingering bad odor. The members at this gym are also not welcoming plus there has been multiple incidents where I've seen members not wipe down their machines after using them. I wouldn't risk getting tapeworms from a dirty machine at this gym. I would rate this 0 stars if I could. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. Zackary Rosado the manager lied to me in person the store. Signed his name on a document saying my account was frozen and then weeks late I was still charged when I was told my multiple people I would not be charged. Then when I called Zack refused to let me speak to any higher ups. Then when I asked him for his manger information he said he could not provide it. They train their employees incorrectly on their own policies and then we the customer have to incur the cost. Zack didn't try to help me get a refund for the false charge in any capacity all he offered was a free month when I come back. Said that they're a franchise and that there is no one who can help me higher than him. Thankfully my bank refunded me instantly and disputed it with their company for me. read more

Signing my family for membership when all five of the "Customer Service" and the Male Manager people at the front desk are ALL MAKING FUN OF THE OLD GUY OUTSIDE...to bad it was my husband! Very Rude really question the hiring departments choices. What do they say about the "Old Guys or Women" working out with memberships?? Very disappointing, NO JUDGEMENT ZONE i don't think so. Horrible place, much of the equipment is dirty and old. I tried to cancel my membership 3 months in a row but they kept telling me they'd "already processed my payment" and "couldn't return the money." SO MANY hidden fees they've charged to my account over the few months I stayed here. The manager is NEVER there, and customers are kept waiting both on the phone and in-person for extensive periods of time to change account information. DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE COME HERE. read more
