The equipment gets maybe 3 out of 5; relatively older equipment, and not a super variety, but mostly functional. The staff is always young people mostly sitting around and socializing; no sign ever of any management or owner. The showers take my overall rating from 3 to 1. They are beyond disgusting, always. The walls are covered in flies, and when the water is running, the little worm larvae are washing out of the cracks in the tile and squirming on the floor. The showers are literally never cleaned properly. This place should be shut down by the health department. read more

Facility has a lot of new equipment. Staff is always kind and welcomes me when I enter. When I've used the bathrooms there, they've been clean. Always a pleasant experience when I go to this location. read more

Seems like this is an original Planet Fitness- with older machines that I remember in what seems a lifetime ago with my local precinct upgrading machines. These seemed to be on the older/cheaper side with the ellipticals. This location seemed pretty small- with everything crammed together and the whole place feeling very dark and dingy. Almost like I was back in middle school at cyber bowling when there has been people getting too frisky so they only keep one set of lights off and one set on so they can police everyone. Not me- I was fat in middle school. Got my workout in - my 4th PF not my hometown. Staff was nice enough - just really felt close to everyone and it was cramped feeling and very dimly lit inside. I didn't check out the spa or anything to see what the massage beds were like but it got the job done. read more

very disrespectful staff. john working at the front desk was reading a book while trying to receive service. he refused to let me and someone else not tan. while following the rules. he almost came back while someone was tanning. i asked many time for a reason he would not let us tan. he stated that he could do whatever he wanted. i honestly used to love coming here but after being embarrassed infront of the whole gym by john and his coworker I will never be back to This location. read more

Ridiculously small locker rooms. This is a huge, clean, well-equipped Planet Fitness. I've belonged to half a dozen locations. I've never seen such cramped locker rooms. read more

I went into the bathroom before my workout last night, I looked next to me, and there was POOP on the wall. Today, I was told by a young man that I could not have my small nylon bag on the floor beside the elliptical machine. Thinking of safety for others, there was no one beside or in front of me that could have tripped over the bag. I asked, what if it has my medication in it? He said, what like an inhaler. I stated, yes. He then asked if I had Asthma, btw which was none of his business, and I stated, yes. He then stated that I could get a doctor's note, and then they would consider it. It requires special approval. Let me say in all my years of having a disability and going to the gym I have never been told that I need to get a doctor's note to have my medication close by. I've visited a planet fitness in over 10 states and I have never been asked to bring in a note. I'm in my forties and not working in high school. Also, I don't think I should have been asked about personal information in an open area. If the young man wanted to discuss further he should have asked me to step to an area with more privacy. Needless to say, this establishment is not friendly towards people with disabilities although the person may look perfectly fine on the outside. Membership canceled. I wonder if the employees are trained to asked people about their health conditions in an open area. There is a thing call HIPPA. read more

Elkton, MD club is my home club, however I visit, and utilize three other clubs in Delaware. The Elkton club is the cleanest, and the staff are always friendly and attentive, including greeting everyone as the enter, and wishing everyone a good day when they exit. Love the environment at this club! read more

They charged everyone after mandatory state closure due to COVID19. I understand how the billing happened but to only offer a credit and flat out REFUSE to refund members is just poor business practice. I stopped in after work for a quick 30 Minute Express workout. While there, one of their trainers was doing a private training session in the Express area. That wasn't so terrible.... the SUPPER annoying part was that he kept restarting the timer for the 2 people he was working with! The timer is supposed to be for the people doing the express workout. Would it really have been a big deal for them to just follow the timer rather than mess up those of us trying to follow it?? I will continue to go to the Middletown branch. read more

I joined last month. I've been there four times so far. I'm old and fat, trying to get into shape. I do the circuit. So far, I have yet to make it through the circuit without having to wait for, or skip a machine occupied by some meat head. They do not monitor the circuit machines. The machines in the circuit are treated as any other machines in the place by the members there. It is very frustrating. read more

I signed my daughter up for a membership months ago. At the time, she was 14 years old. I'd take her about 2-3 times a week after I got off of working a 10-11 hour shift. I'd find a corner to sit in while I patiently waited for the day she would be 15 years old. Just recently, she turned 15 years old and the same girls at the desk was working. The girls at the desk (curly hair and the chunky girl with glasses) tell me that my daughter now has to be 16 years old to drop her off. I said to the girls you told me 15?? We stand there and go back and forth. In my mind, I just can't believe this is happening. So all of this time, my mind was set that she had to 15 years old to be left unsupervised when really, I was misinformed. Wrong! So I look at the age requirements online and it clearly states 13-14 supervision required and 15-17 a waiver must be signed. So I was actually "allowed" by the front desk to sit in my car out front but I next time I come in with my daughter, I would hope those same girls know there own policy. read more

My first day , great location, assistant mgr who gave orientation great.. the only reason I gave 4 stars is after orientation I was using the treadmill and one of the girls that worked there came up to me and said I couldn't talk on my phone while on the machine , i was surprised considering I had an ear bud in. I looked around and counted @ least 6 other people with earbuds in. Why am I the only one that can't....... they use ear buds for there monitors. And they have free WiFi. read more

Great gym. The clientele is just a bunch of average looking people seeking to get fit or maintain a healthy lifestyle. I like that. The equipment is up to date, always clean, and there is never a wait. At peak times, the gym is full but not crowded. The staff is friendly and helpful. They welcome you when you walk in and wish you a good day/evening when you leave. Group classes are available and the instructors are great for whatever level of fitness you might be. Honestly the best gym. The staff (day and night) are friendly and always say "Hello" when you walk in and "Goodbye" when you leave. The locker room/bathroom (women's) are always clean. Don't have to worry about feeling judged or anything when I go in - everyone generally keeps to themselves and any interactions are always friendly. The Elkton location is great, overall. read more

Great gym. Staff is very helpful. I truly enjoy that it is a 24hr location. My only suggestion would be to wipe off any equipment BEFORE you use it. I normally am there at 5AM and have seen many people sweat all over the machines and then walk away. I can only imagine what happens later in the day when its even more crowded. read more

The staff is not friendly and there are usually 3-4 standing at the desk doing nothing. I transferred to this location because it is closer. I wish they had a better system of checking in rather than a key card with a membership number written in sharpie. I'd prefer to not have to have any interaction with the staff at this location. read more
