I will not be returning and have cancelled my membership. I am 7 months postpartum and was indecisive to either returning to the gym or cancel membership. I made my way to the front desk without being greeted once. I then had to interrupt conversation that was being had by the two front desk receptionist. One individual left and one young girl stayed to help me. Ended up holding me there for an unnecessary 25 minutes just to answer a simple question of which I then decided to scratch and just cancel my membership completely; that then it took her another 25 minutes to do. All, while not having the best attitude, she didn't geeet anybody that walked in behind me once, didn't even acknowledge them. Love this gym. Great equipment and love the massage beds and chairs. Only thing I would change is the lighting. Whenever I lay on a bench to do an exercise I'm blinded by the light, I see light spots after each set and it takes time for My eyes to adjust. Different light fixtures would be nice. read more

I really like this gym overall. It's clean, the equipment is in good shape, and the vibe is solid. Staff has always been fine and it's a place I actually enjoy coming to, which says a lot. The only thing I find kind of weird is that the bathrooms don't have toilet seat liners at all. Not that they're out of stock, they just aren't provided. It's not a dealbreaker, but it's definitely noticeable and would make the place feel a little more comfortable if they had them. I really like this gym but Sat 5/2 I arrived at 7:30am and the gym was not open yet. They're supposed to open at 7am. I waited for 20 min and then left, there were other people that did the same. Not worth getting the PF black card if you go early. They never have someone at front desk to check you in for the black card massage machines. read more

Large fan blades are dusted & cleaned regularly otherwise my asthma would flare up if i was thr stairmaster or treadmill. However the drinking water faucet /e2 water dispenser needs a thorough filter replacement since my son got strep throat & a trip to urgent care Sunday 10/5 from drinking H20 from drinking faucet on weds 10/1/25. Otherwise the workout machines are great...Torso twist (moved to corner room since nobody wants to see a grimaced face when working out stomach). read more

Came in around 730am, no waiting, perfectly helpful and pleasant this morning. Total 180 from previous months. STILL five-stars after a year of membership. The experience has been very consistent even though staff come and go frequently. The gym is always at a comfortable temperature, and the people who use this gym are very considerate of wiping down equipment after use. - It's so much nicer than the East Escondido location. - Newer, more expensive equipment compared to other Planet Fitness locations. - Gym locker locks need to be replaced. read more

I have been a black card member for multiple years at planet fitness and I've always left satisfied until i went into the auto park way location. I was in a hurry trying to use the tanning bed for five minutes and the employee at the front desk was extremely rude to me. He would not let me tan unless I paid a "late fee" balance of 15.00 when just within the past week planet fitness had charged my account over 100.00$. He was snickering at me and acting very immature. I will never go back to this gym and I will be cancelling my membership because of this employee read more

First off, this gym is the cheapest, so the most affordable compared to LA Fitness, Chuze Fitness, and 24 Hour Fitness. Second, I went to all these gyms in person after researching online, and this gym had the most welcoming employee to greet me and answer all my questions. Will, the employee working at the desk, was super kind, patient, and knowledgeable. I did not feel like he was trying to persuade me into anything, and he felt so genuinely honest. Truthfully, besides the good prices here, Will just being honest and kind was the real factor that sold me on getting a membership here! They've completely replaced their whole staff crew. They're pretty friendly majority of the time. I enjoy the updated equipment compared to the other locations around. The gym is clean and people are respectful. Paper towels + spray bottles are always stocked. They're lenient on their rules about what you wear. They allow men in muscle tees and women in just sports bras. They're doing the teens free for summer, so there's a lot of kids throughout the gym. There's a few that just play around with the equipment which could potentially be dangerous. For the restrooms, I wish they would put seat covers. They haven't had any since opening. There's three sinks in the bathroom and the soap is only ever filled on one sink. Hours are still the same, they are not open 24 hours. read more

Planet Fitness You need to do a better job! I just had the worst experience ever at a gym. DO NOT GO to this location & DO NOT Sign up for Planet Fitness!! I have been a fitness instructor for 19years. I am a Fit Pro for jazzercise inc. and also yoga instructor and yoga certified. I went as a guest with my husband. This was my very 1st and last visit. The Manager behavior and attitude is not ok. I am a Women and a man was being extremely aggressive and rude. I felt unsafe and was told by the Manager it was my fault. We were just trying to the 30 minute circuit work out. The instructions are posted on the wall & state they will be in forced. It was my turn for a machine & we tried to get the man attention to move he refused. Then got aggressive and verbally attacked me. So we went strait to the manager. As a fitness professional for the last 19yr and being in the industry for this long I have never in my life seen a manager with such bad judgment. Josue the manager refused to back up gym policy & accused me for causing the man to be aggressive and verbally attack me and my husband WOW!! I have had 2 different employees come up to me after going into the hydro massage room and tell me I can't use the equipment with out checking in.... However, I go in early and because the owners of these crappy gyms refuse to outsource the cleaning..... I was TOLD BY A MANAGER To use the code and bypass the front counter when no one is there instead of waiting 15 minutes for someone to show.... The employees are rude about it like it's their house and I am not paying to use the club...... This is a problem I will leave bad reviews to everyone who will listen. I've read through some reviews and I think it's interesting that some people seem to want Staff to be their friends or something or to be treated like royalty. The staff has always been courteous to me, but I'm not expecting anything out of the ordinary from them. The machines are in good working condition and the bathrooms are nice. Worst experience EVER! First day of membership and we were excited to start. Feeling intimidated to go to the main area we found the 30 minute circuit room. It was great! The rules on the wall state that this is a circuit area. Started out great till a weight lifter came in and started camping out on the equipment. As we continued the circuit we were needing to use the machine the weight lifter was camping out on. We asked him to move as there are RULES specifically stated on the wall. He refused to move and began to verbally harass me and my spouse. Again, we are in the circuit room with a bunch of other beginners and elderly people avoiding all the advanced people. We go to the front desk where the manager, Josue, comes to help. Ultimately, Josue told us that we should not have tried to get this guys attention and it was our fault that we upset him. NO BACK UP FROM THE CLUB AT ALL. DO NOT JOIN HERE as the place is UNSAFE and even the manager backs up the Meat Heads. (We assume the manager is probably buddies with the guy). Then we ask for the regional managers info as Josue is not helping and he refuses stating we can get all that info on-line and he would not help us. WE ARE DONE WITH PLANET FITNESS!!! Do not join as you won't be safe in their clubs!!! Also, thank you again to the manager, Josue, who basically told me (A 51 year old middle aged man) that my behavior in trying to get this guys attention so my wife could use the equipment for the actual stated purpose was the actual problem. read more

I tried giving this Planet Fitness another chance and the only thing from me giving 5 stars is the staff & hours. There's one worker that has just made me feel unwelcome from attending this gym. The hours are also not great. There's other PF in the area open 24 hours which is very convenient. I'll try and give it another chance soon. read more

Edit to add: the only negative is that some stay on 1 machine in the circuit room for about a half hour. I have completed my circuit, except for one machine. So, I do cardio. Come back and the same machine is still taken. I wish people would use the main gym for this. (It's worse when 2 people are taking 2 machines and alternating many sets for actually half an hour.) read more

I'll echo the sentiments of others that say the staff is rude at this location. Even after I went in to sign the parental waiver, Staff member Megan (?) seems to enjoy singling out my child. She needs to have corporate come visit & train her in customer service. She comes off as a gaslighting bully. I've been waiting all morning to speak with her manager. No call yet, so I'll be escalating this to their corporate office. Remember: these are franchises. Stay away from THIS LOCATION until they get their act together. I would give 5 stars, but... The staff have always been friendly to me and I've been there at various times at least a few times a week. The facility is clean and well organized. I love the newer equipment as I have been to previous locations. My only problem with this location is that when I went to use the women's showers there was NO hot water. Let's just say the water was cold enough that I felt I burnt some extra calories shivering. Joined this gym nearly a year ago and it's the first one I've ever stuck with for that long. Why? Because the staff is super friendly and NOT sales-focused at all. Plus, the gym is uber clean all the time, other people using it are of all shapes, sizes, and ages, and I've never felt uncomfortable there. I just went to try a different location in Escondido and I will never ever do that again. This location is by far my favorite, so I will forgive the fact that (I forgot) that they open at 7am on weekends in stead of the earlier hours I am used to. The gym is always bright and cheerful, the staff is always polite and greets you when you walk in. From what I have seen so far they take the time to remember their members, and if they don't recognize you they will introduce themselves and ask if they can help you with anything. They have all been amazing so far, but big shout out to Mariah, she is an absolute gem of a human being. Very positive and uplifting and encouraging. If she ever leaves I will be SO sad!!! read more

The gym is clean for the most part. Some of the staff is unprofessional. I wish it was 24 hours. I love the Oceanside location it's 24 hours! Be careful they advertise with the black card that you can go to ANY location but only so many times a month then they charge you extra.... They didn't tell me that signing up. The mens locker room smells like raw sewage. It's absolutely disgusting. They try and cover the smell with a cheap plug in air freshener that needs refilled... a lot of their treadmills seem to be broken and need repaired. This is a small location so keep that in mind as well. read more

I get it...a business like a gym usually garners either a poor rating or a top rating. Not much in between. And yes...this is a base level, self service type gym. If you want a ton of amenities, then this maybe isn't your spot. But for the price, they over deliver most of the time for sure. However, after being a member here for the past few months, I gotta say...the standard 3star rating was bumped up a notch for me by the staff. The folks that I have interacted here have most always been outwardly friendly, helpful and appear to be trying to make this location the best it can be, even when no one is watching. The only gripe I have, is a good amount of the elliptical machines down the row are fairly noisy when they get going... this is simply a big pet peeve of mine. All in all though.... Much cleaner and nicer than the other Escondido location but PLEASE monitor the 30 minute room. People sit on the machines on their phones, ignoring the red/green lights, do multiple sets. So frustrating if you're trying to actually do the 30 minute workout. read more
