I have been going to this establishment for 16 years and I could not be happier. The club put a lot of money into recent renovations and upgrades. It is up to standards with state-of-the-art equipment. Whether a person chooses to use the machinery for cardiovascular purposes, muscle strength, or weight loss, this is the ideal place to achieve your fitness goals! It simply is not possible to walk out the door without feeling a profound sense of accomplishment and better overall health. The best part of all is the staff. I have had Cerebral Palsy all my life. I have had to make do with one wheelchair to use both inside my home and in my car. It was in bad shape. There is a wonderful maintenance lady by the name of Jen H. surprised me and gave me a cool wheelchair that she had at home. This chair was brand new and is a great chair for me to utilize at home. But the kindness and compassion did not stop there. My old wheelchair was in desperate need of an overhaul. She went ahead and ordered me a new seat for the chair and new armrests. Now, I can feel more at ease knowing I have extra reinforcements with new and sturdy material. Now I have both a wheelchair for my house and one for my car that I can use at the gym. That made my life so much easier. Jenn and a courteous staff member by the name of John Y. volunteered their time and installed both items for me right there at the club. The staff is so caring and friendly, and they do put the customer first as you can see. There is also a friendly lady who works at the front desk named Jenny V. who helps me put my wheelchair in my car when I am ready to leave at the end of the day. The staff at this club makes me feel like I matter. They are like family to me. I am committed to being a lifelong member of this gym. I give my highest regards and recommendations to this staff and cannot speak highly enough about them. If you are looking for a new gym, please go to the Emerald City Athletic Club. This girl who calls herself a manager was really pushy for me to pay extra 95.00 to upgrade my membership. Not only that but she kept saying how much muscle i lost from last time I was there and just i felt like she was pulling me down instead of encouraging me or raising me up. Stop pushing people and instead listen to them. As a pyschology major I know what you are saying, but when someone tells you they can't right now just accept that... But instead she kept pushing and pushing. I understand you want to make your commmision I know how it all works this is not my first rodeo. Now i am pretty discouraged all over again. I signed up so I can try to slowly get back into working out after my car accident and physical therapy. But if people tell you something you listen not keep pushing.. .. Lets say you go to the car dealrship... You tell him I'm here just to look around and see what they have for my price range. All of a sudden someone jumps on you and keeps pushing you and pushing you to the point where you turn around and walk away. I hope this will be a lesson for this organization. If you are there for the money ,then you are not here for the people!

I had been on a kettlebell team and was missing the camaraderie and group exercise atmosphere. This really has filled that gap in my life. He was extremely attentive, motivating, and FUN! We became friends and I always looked forward to my training sessions. I joined CCMA about 2 months ago on the plan for 2 days a week and I gotta say that it is great…read more It is a boxing gym which may shy a few people away but they are completely accommodating to the level that you are striving for. Some guys are going for competitions, but primarily there are guys and girls who want to to have fun learning some boxing (or kickboxing) skills, and they want a killer workout which CCMA definitely provides. I have had gym memberships for years and would quit every so often mostly because I would get bored and there was nothing really motivating me to keep going. This gym is not like that. Everyone in the class runs through drills and exercises for teh hour and fifteen minute classes and it is up to the individual how hard they want to work. I have lost about 12lbs in 2-1/2 months though and that is only going 2 days a week. There are classes every day of the week at different times to accommodate different schedules and they are really good about keeping you motivated and taking time to show you the proper techniques. Everyone in the classes are really cool and down to earth. They also range in age and ability levels so it is fun to work with some of the better people because they also can act as mentors and teach technique. The only reason that the gym did not get 5 stars in my eyes was that I think a few people would be turned off by the facility and the parking. They could probably use new carpeting but the actual gym equipment is great and they have everything that you need to get started. The parking is a little tough and some nights there are no spots. Otherwise, the gym is amazing and has a way more personal feel than any class you will ever get at a big gym. If someone decides to join this gym and has the idea that they want to get in shape, you will not be disappointed. Mark and his trainers will definitely do the trick. It is definitely worth checking out especially for most of us that are bored out of our minds with a regular gym.

I ended up hurting my lower back through work and wasn't able to do any heavy lifting. Kirk offers MLT (manual ligament therapy) which helped tremendously with my sprained ligament. Fast forward to 2022 later, I have not seen Kirk for almost 6 years. I am 8 months pregnant, live in another state, and have sciatica nerve pain in my lower back. I called him out of the blue because I didn't know what I could do in terms of stretching and rolling out safely with me being super prego. Even from half the country away, Kirk has guided me with different roll out techniques and stretches to help alleviate the pain. 10/10 would highly recommend if you're looking for an awesome trainer/life long friend!!!
