It's a horrible gym. Card expired one month ago hadn't put in a new one and wanted to charge 65 dollars for a missed payment. Then I say I'll just cancel my account and they say that I have to be in person to cancel. Horrible system put in place would not recommended even for 10 bucks a month spend the extra 10 a month and work out at catalyst or anytime. I also see that they have commented on this saying that I can send in a letter to cancel it. This is the 21st-century for crying out loud. read more

Been a member at this club for over two years canceled my account in February so I thought went in personally and spoke to a team member so when I return back to reactivate my membership come to find out they didn't cancel out my account like I requested. I got the $15 late fee charge for that then they proceed to tell me that I have two pre-existing accounts that have to be paid for in order to get my membership reactivated. So this information comes directly from my home store from Nathan the manager who definitely conducts himself like he is racist and definitely went out his way to make sure he can find any in all possible reason to deny me access to the gym, I paid my past due account according to Nathan, the manager at the West Jefferson location. We looked at my account for definitely 15 to 20 minutes. He assured me this is everything that was owed on my account so I pay this bill to get my account current use my membership for two days when I walk in Nathan proceeds to tell me that I now owe $160 from some other previous account that miraculously appeared out of thin air that wasn't there a couple days ago and denied access to the gym so I paid my previous balance from what was told not even giving me the benefit of the doubt or showing customer service to let at the gym for the day to give me an opportunity the issue so I can work out, but since he has a racist mentalitywhich I've noticed the whole time that I've been there for the two years, he seems to have some type of attitude or a smug response or look when dealing with a person of color. So I'm still trying to understand how is it that I have three or four existing accounts but their policy per Nathan is you must take care of a previous balance before you can start a new account so I'm not understanding where the disconnect is or have never witnessed this type of incompetence in dealing with any type of company before. read more

I go here about 1-2 a week. Upon entering you are always greeted which is very nice and even upon exiting you are always greeted to have a nice day. When you come in it has a no judgment zone so it doesn't matter what shape health good bad you come here and work out and nobody cares. All the machines are purple they've got plenty of classes if you're in their black club then you have access to massage machines, tanning, half off drinks etc... As far The cleanliness it is superb! I always see somebody wiping down the machines it seems like every hour someone is going around and making sure that the sanitizers are full. If you're worried about Covid this is probably a really a safe place to be. read more

Other members are leaving due to this. They need a better management team. Also, the place is filthy. The dressing and shower areas are unhygienic! Night staff is great, very laid back. Haven't had any bad experiences here and I've been going for about a year now.

I've been a member here for about 3 years. The first 2 years, I was more of charity donation (I didn't go that much). But at $10/month, the guilt of not going quickly passes. I've been going 3-5 times a week now, and the place is always clean with friendly employees. It seems there is a lot of turnover, as I don't always see the same employees. The gym is pretty big, so you can always find something to do somewhere. I am middle-aged, and this place is great, as there aren't a lot of meat-heads there. There are a lot of annoying millennials that stare at their phone more than they work out, which perplexes me...but oh well. I would highly recommend this place. (Oh, and I've lost 40 pounds since April.) read more

steer clear @jefferson blvd . they need workers that actually cares about everyone and not just the ones that have class. you kick people out that pay the same or more than the others ($25 a month and $40 a year). got kicked out of this station in the middle of my workout for a class that only consisted of two elderly people. i have tons of patience but not for this. it will make almost 10 times i have dealt with this when there are so many other places that actually are fair to all their guests not just selected ones. do better! been there for a few years and this bs right here made me cancel my membership. also stop letting pedo creeps in to stare at the young ladies and intimidate and make faces at the ones that cant take up for themselves because you dont take up for them , members have to! shame on this establishment and the people that half ass run it! needs better managment all the way around! disbelif...go there see for yourself. watch your kids cause if you dont the creeps and pedo's will! read more

I joined Planet Fitness this past week. Though I've only worked out three times, I'm very impressed with their business model. This is a high-quality gym for a very reasonable price. The benefits of the Black Card membership convinced me to go with that plan. It's about 20 bucks a month, with a $40 once-a-year membership fee which is taken out sometime in June. You can also bring a guest with you every time you work out if you have the Black Card. This is extremely valuable to me! One of the best things is the sheer number of pieces of equipment. You never have to wait for a treadmill or elliptical. I go during the busiest times (right after work on weekdays) and there are always at least 2 machines available. The locker rooms are a blessing. They could be a little bit bigger, but they are CLEAN and smell good. This is really important to me. There are plenty of showers and they provide 3 hair drying stations. The fact that they're open 24 hours a day is fantastic. The staff seems pretty friendly as well. I haven't yet used the tanning or massage facilities, but plan on checking it out soon. I have a couple of things that rub me the wrong way, however. One is the "lunk alarm". This siren goes off if someone is demonstrating "lunkism" or showing off, loud grunting, throwing down weights, etc. This gym prides itself on its inclusiveness and "you belong" and "no judgement" are plastered everywhere. This alarm seems hypocritical, don't you think? In the same vein is the fact they serve pizza and bagels on every first Monday and Tuesday of the month. I mean, how bizarre...? What? I don't even... There are also candies over-flowing at the front desk. I guess it's job security, in a way... reminds me of providing wine coolers at AA, though. Nonetheless, it's a good fit for me and I'm pleased about this investment. I have already recommended it to others. read more

They have a huge selection of equipment, They offer fitness training that is included with the membership, they are open 24 hours a day, have wonderful shower facilities, offer Tanning, massage beds, and more. All of those things are great, but my favorite part about this location is by far the atmosphere. So friendly and comfortable. read more

I LOVE PLANET FITNESS! The receptionists are usually friendly, the facility is always clean, the equipment is state of the art, and the atmosphere is generally very encouraging. I like the non-judgmental atmosphere, and even the design and colors are meant to motivate. The only thing I dislike about them is the brand of toilet paper in the bathrooms. They have two membership options: The normal membership does not have a contract and is $10/month for using all the workout equipment. The "Black Card" membership is twice as much and there is a contract, but you get privileges like unlimited tanning and massage beds, the ability to bring guests, and reciprocity at different locations. I have the basic membership and have never felt like I was missing out on anything as I have full access to everything that is important to me (weights, machines, treadmills, stretching mats, etc). Absolutely terrible customer service. I have had issues with my account. They claimed I didn't pay my membership for over 200 days even though I can pull up my bank statements that I have paid every month. Now I have to fight them to not be overcharged. When I was at Planet Fitness trying to fix my account issues, the staff was in the background making fun of paying customers. I'm absolutely disgusted. Yeah, I used to be a lunkhead myself--30 years ago. Grunting with effort, slamming weights and other narcissistic behavior was common at the clubs to which I belonged; if a place such as Planet Fitness had existed then, I would not have been interested. No need to hate the place, if its business model doesn't suit you, don't join. I don't see the issue there. I joined this club last December, and tend to work out at 6AM. At that time, there is a good mix of "people like me" (old, ex-athletes gone to seed), as well as younger folks, who appear to be in seriously good shape. As someone who is pushing 60 and just wants to get into reasonable shape, I appreciate the club and its business model. I've read some scathing reviews of Planet Fitness, and pretty much every negative that is mentioned serves as a positive for me. My only quibble is the (lack of) size of the locker room/showers. I actually had to wait for a shower this morning! read more
