Came in for the 3rd time at 5 am on the dot. The guy who works night/ early morning shift is very unprofessional. He is ALWAYS in the back room sleeping. This gym has a lot of machines for everyone's needs , it's clean and is open 24/7 except the weekends it closes at 7 . That said , it's almost impossible to get a quick workout due to the number of " sitters " on the machines . Just today a guy set on the only fly machine for 30 min . He was watching a movie and did a few sets . At times I have seen people on several machines at once . Every gym I have ever been in has signs education people on gym etiquette. I'm aware that this is a low cost gym and many of the constituents aren't gym savvy , but they should educate their members . I plan on changing gyms if this continues and nothing is done . Visiting from Nashville for week - very impressed w this Planet Fitness. 5* for cleanliness, friendly staff, layout and overall vibe. Wifey and I went on a Thursday about 10am ... lots of cars in the lot but when we got inside it is a big gym - well spread out with lots of cardio machines as well as free weights and lift machines. It was the usual PF cleaning stations spread about that folks were using - multiple times I saw PF staff pushing the cleaning cart and refilling the stations. There is a separate ab/back room as well as a good stretching room with 2 stretch racks. All in all easy 5 * for a Thursday mid morning workout. read more

The staff has never asked me to leave my things to use their gym equipment and I come everyday NEVER have they asked me to leave my keys or anything. If anyone is stealing bar pad why would they steal more then one. This place is getting worse and worse by the months it's never clean and all the workers can never help with anything. I really love going to this gym and I really want to give it a full five stars. I just can't, as popular and busy as this gym is they really should be open 24/7. Not sure why this gym closes so early during the weekend when that is the time they would be the busiest. The place is clean and well maintained but I went into the bathroom last week and there was no toilet paper in any of the stalls in the ladies room. I had to call the front desk for them to say they had to go get some out of the men's room for me. There is no excuse for a business of this size to ever run low on a necessity such as toilet paper. Another thing I see in waste is the fact that they have paper towel dispensers that hardly work and sanitizer bottles, but to be honest they would get more out of having wet sanitized towelettes available. I have been a member here for a while. Upon arrival today, there was a Line forming out the door. All I needed was to scan in (nobody was using the scanners) so I proceed to walk around the line to scan in and go work out. I was met at the front of the line by a feisty little girl with dreadlocks who stops what she is doing to snatch the scanner up and inform me that "she is doing something right now" (with this glaring look that suggested I get back in line). This was sorta embarrassing, and After the initial shock, I just proceeded to the other scanner, scanned in and went about my business. Others just needing to scan in then followed suit and the line disappeared. A little customer service training goes a long way! read more

Typical PF gym with friendly staff. No complaints. They are getting brand new cardio equipment in early January.

First off I am not a fan of Planet Fitness Gyms. This is my alternative gym for when I am traveling or at my girlfriends house. I dont like Planet Fitness for a few reasons mainly because of their business model, target market, and equipment (they dont offer real squat racks, bench presses, they offer candy, pizza, and shame fit people). However I do like the price and how many locations they have nationwide. Moving on, I would say this was one of the better Planet Fitness's that I have been too. The staff is always friendly and helpful when you walk in. There are plenty of workout machines and cardio equipment. Other than the Smith Machines I rarely have to wait for equipment even at their peak times. There are many treadmills, elliptical's, cycle bikes, and a few other cardio equipment such as stair masters. They also have 3 other training areas besides the main area which offers more equipment and yoga/core training. This location also seems safe, I usually do not bring a lock just to lock up my jacket. Some of the other locations I have been to around the US have seemed to be in questionable areas and I have worries about things in my locker. This Planet Fitness also is quite clean. I constantly see them maintaining it and trying to keep it as clean as possible. I have however been to some other locations that have had better equipment and amenities which is why I would not give this specific location 5 stars. read more

I went into the Hiram, GA. location this morning with the intention of going ahead and paying for a year's membership up front. I waited patiently while the girl at the front desk (Heather?) helped two young ladies ahead of me. When she finished, she turned her attention to me, I told her what I wanted. She quoted me $199. When I questioned the amount vs. what your website said, she shrugged her shoulders and said, 'Yeah, I don't know why it does that." Wait.....shouldn't your job BE the person that finds out why and get it taken care of? Im standing there offering to pay for a year UP FRONT and you don't want my money? As I began to ask questions, she began to look right over me and help the people who were coming in the door AFTER me. I would be in mid sentence and she'd turn her back to me. I felt like she had no desire to set up a membership for me. Period. I'm standing there, after waiting patiently for my turn and you can't focus on me? You're more worried about helping the people coming in behind me. She finally turned and asked me for a routing number and checking account number. I found them but I explained that if I couldn't pay for a year up front, I'd pay whatever charges were due today with my Wells Fargo card but further payments needed to go on a different card, if my only option was a monthly payment system. Her response: 'Ummm yeahhhh, we can't do that either. It all has to go on one card." I said, "Okay, how about I go get some cash for the initial payment and then you can use my card for future payments." Her response: "Sorry, we don't take cash either." I asked her, "Well, what ARE my options?" She said, "Ummm, yeah, I don't really know." The entire time, she kept looking over my shoulder and helping other people. Consistently ignoring me. I own my own business and if any of my employees had 1.) Ignored the prospective client. 2.) Did not offer the client options. 3.) Left a client hanging in the wind while helping other clients. 4.) Used the answer, "Ummmm yeah, I don't know why it does that." instead of "I'm not really sure why it's doing that but let's figure it out."......they would be terminated immediately. I worked really hard to save enough money to pay for a year up front and after your heavy promotion of your gyms being judgement free zones and after being looked over and ignored at least 6 or 7 times.......I walked out, got in my car and left. I don't even think she realized I had walked out because she was too busy helping the next person in line. Epic FAIL on the part of Planet Fitness! read more

I've been to a lot of PFs due to traveling and i must say, the equipment at this location is VERY dated; to the cables, machines, tanning beds.. everything is useable, but not something i prefer when other PFs in the area have newer equipment. Some bulbs in the tanning bed were also out. If you are looking for a quick workout, it will get the job done. read more

Older machines (for a PF) which is okay, but these aren't kept in good repair. Some of the exercise machines have cracked seat cushions revealing the layer of material under the vinyl, and some of the knee pads on the hip reduction machines are cracked. When I first began attending three years ago, it was a going concern, but these days management seems to be more concerned with saving money. A new fitness place opened in Jan '22, and attendance suffered. They've recently rebounded, the staffing has improved and attendance increased. Now if they'd just maintain their machines, they'd be all set. read more

This is the best health and fitness center for your money in the area. It is clean and well maintained. They offer so much and the staff is very friendly. NO WIFI. Seriously? I was told this week that the owners didn't want to spend the money until the AT&T contract expired. Very disappointed with that decision. read more

Dumbbells and barbells all over the place (largely in part due to their personal trainers) and if you bring it to staff's attention (Madison), they tell you there's nothing they can do about and then go back to chatting with employees. HEY! Welcome to Planet Fitness. Had the pleasure of adding this place to Yelp. I'm sure plenty of people will check in soon. So let me tell you about this place. It is very nice. I wish there was better access, but most of Hiram is cramped anyways so I'm not going to take a star away because of that. I came as a black card guest with my managed. I did my cardio and I know this will probably sound funny, but the treadmills were really nice. They had iPhone 4 and less chargers. That was a little draw back, but at least they had a place to put your phone, that was a plus. After wiping down my station I headed to the 30 min exercise area. There were other stations, but I have yet to go there. Will update my review when I do. They area was very nice. You start with station 1 and then you go through 20. Now the only draw back about this area is where the start and stop light are. Now I will let you in on a little secret. If you are having an issue with the light, look at the tv. It reflects off of it. I know I already said it, but I love that area. Now onto the prices for people who are interested in joining and I say this based off of what I was told. Signing up is $10 a month for for 12 months with a yearly renewal fee of what I think was $24. Now that is for basic membership which allows you access to any Planet Fitness. Now for the black card (which I just signed up for). The Black card is $20 a month for 12 months with a $34 a year (again I think) yearly renewal fee. Now the black card gets you the works. Tanning access, hydrotherapy, massage therapy, same access to any Planet Fitness, and allows you to bring someone with you anytime you come. Sounds like a great deal right?! I think so. Like I said, I have yet to experience a couple of the features and will update my review when I have, but for now that is it. Welcome to the judgement free zone. Updating my review same day. Had the chance to use the massage chair and hydrotherapy bed. The massage chair requires a token that you get from the front, very enjoyable. Because this is a new location scheduling has not begun yet, but according to the front desk you will have to schedule a hydrotherapy session. It's very simple and last 10 minutes. The high level will make you feel amazing. I highly recommend it after a hard workout. read more

We are black card members of Planet Fitness in our home town in Arkansas so we were really happy about being able to use the feature of visiting other locations while on vacation. This Planet Fitness, we were told by staff, was a 'newer' facility. The layout was different than our home gym and there were certain machines that they had less of or none at all, but what we noticed the most was that the machines were torn (seats) and the metals were rusting. Also, there were paper towel rolls that were out and the cleaner bottles are just laying around. If you are going to use the cable machines don't expect to have very many options for grips/handles/straps. They don't have any ankle or foot straps (our home gym has 6 of them and we have a TON of straps/grips/handles always available). read more

Clean facilities. Friendly staff. I really enjoy the new trainers Sean and Abby. They incorporate different exercises that will keep your heart rate pumping. They are always motivating and helpful to teach you workout routines for your fitness goals. They don't seem to mind to show you attention of you are struggling in a certain area. Only con is this is not a true 24hr gym. I have crazy work hours and need to sometimes work out at 2 or 3 am. I wish they could open 24hr, however for $10/monthly, I don't have too many complaints. read more

I recently signed up at Planet Fitness several months ago. I have visited 3 Planet Fitness locations. Hiram, Kennesaw and Austell. I currently have the black card membership. Over all it's a great friendly place. Could there be some beneficial adjustments... absolutely. I selected Planet Fitness as my gym due to the extra spa area. Which includes; massage chairs, massage water bed, total body enhancement bed and tanning beds to go along with my work out. I have fibromyalgia and the extra Spa area is very essential to help with this condition. My reviews for each location keeping in mind there are pros and cons and management at each location was contacted on my reviews. Hiram: Large open area, very clean, always friendly staff. No wifi, tanning beds are in bad condition/bulbs. No total body enhancement bed. Kennesaw: Smaller area but well rounded. Very clean and friendly staff. Some of the Staff were very willing to go the extra mile. Yes to wifi. Yes to better spa beds/area and gym equipment may need new tanning bulbs. Yes to having the total enhancement bed. Austell: Friendly staff. Not very clean at all. Spa area beds very nasty. Staff and another client walked in on a lady undressed. Clients there would say sexual comments to my daughter and I. No wifi. But had more types of gym equipment. I feel with having the back card membership the spa area should be top of the line. If clients could tan and use the total enhancement bed for its full time you would have less complains. Stand up bed 9 mins should be 12. Super tanning beds 10 mins should be 15. Regular tanning beds 10 mins should be 25 mins. Total enhancement bed is 12 mins but should be up to 20 mins. I do hope this information helps bring awareness to positive changes in each location that should generate more clients. Thank you read more

Don't workout here...it's small and fills up capacity fast. All of the weight machines have really old and outdated grips that make it harder to get comfortable. Also for some reason the pull down machines don't have adjustable seats, first time I've ever seen something this stupid. You have to stand up every rep in order to reach the handles. Also front desk people are rude as hell. Will NOT veer be coming back. read more

I joined because I needed a gym by my parents house that was also in the state that I reside. I enjoyed my personal training session at this location. It allowed me to learn how to use particular machines for doing my independent workouts. This is a great gym for those who aren't hardcore body builders. Hi, I recently visited one of your club (planet fitness Hiram) On Friday, February 4 at 8:37 PM. I walked in to purchase a one week pass since I am only in town for the week. There were two males at the front desk one came to help me (Jordan) he sold me the week pass and I asked how do I get in when you never took my name. He then told me to bring in my receipt and I will be let in. I then asked him what if I lose the receipt? He called over his colleague and his colleague told me I can reach out to the manager or assistant manager and they can figure it out. I told he can take my name and figure it out that is not my job to figure that out. I let it slide and went over to the treadmill's. 15 minutes pass and all the lights go out, I happened to see Jordan and I asked are you guys closing? He then says yeah I forgot to tell you we close at nine. I then tell him well you could've told me when I purchase this pass 15 minutes prior to you closing, I'm clearly a visitor. I was already on edge from his colleague telling me I need to figure out how I'm gonna get into the club. I then walk over to that same colleague ask for the manager's name, and he tells me why? I don't need to give an explanation on why I want the managers name, When he told me prior I should reach out to The manager or assistant manager on how I would get in. I then asked again for the Manager's card he then says he doesn't have one. Then I asked for the managers name and he told me no I will not give it to you I said I am asking for his or her name and he said no leave. I not only want my money back but I will never come back to Planet Fitness. It is unreal the disrespect and how rude he was to me. Terrible customer service and I shouldn't be the one having to do his job on how I should get into the club. I want a formal apology and a refund immediately. read more

Good morning: I'm a black card member of planet fitness and this morning I choose to workout at the Hiram ga location since I'm a black card member. I checked in around 6:00-6:30am after working out I went to the front desk to get a water. I ask Bret who was behind the desk about 6:45-6:50am for a water he then proceeded to ask for my phone number to look me up I said I should be in the system already I check in (scanned barcode) before I walking past the front desk, he said it doesn't matter he still needed my phone number to pull up my account. Afterwards he then tells me he can't use my card on my account because Hiram is not my home store I told him I don't understand I've gotten water before from this location and other location I've visited and they've used my card on file with no problem, he then says "well that's impossible because we don't do that. I informed him the at I was just at the Hiram location last week and they did it, Bret then says we'll if they did it then I can't do it because I do not know how to do that. I personally think that's unprofessional to tell the customers you don't know how to do something instead of calling maybe a team lead or a manager to assist with the issue and I'm very displeased with his actions on how he choose to handle that situation since he is unaware of how to do his job. read more

The crew are not friendly. I worked out at a club down the road for 2 years and quit because of work. So when this club opened I decided to try it out. It is an uptight atmosphere where you can barely breath without worrying. Because of the judgement free feel. It's more like a "we are watching your every move, and judging it" feel. As far as gyms go, it's mostly fine. Went ahead and paid for the black card membership because, well, massage chairs. More on that later. As a general rule the place is clean and staff is friendly. Janine is the best and knows everyone by name. I haven't done the group classes but I attempted a individual session, but frankly it's highly misleading. Individual session is really 5 people with you and it's not really there to help you plan a work out, it's more there to teach you how to use the machines. I'm a reasonably fit 40 something and I was in a "Individual session" with 2 60 somethings and 70 something and a 55 year old with significant health issues. Not once did the trainer ask about meds or anything else when she was giving these people their target heart rates and such. Which is a problem because at least 3 people were on beta blockers and none of them would be able to get a heart rate that high. There is no way my fitness level and the fitness level of any of these were equal... and yet I had to share time with them and got nothing out of it. It was a waste of an hour of my time honestly. And they had the trainer backed back to back with stuff so at the end she didn't even have time to answer questions or anything else because she was running for the next class. I was highly disappointed. Now, the massage chairs, which I had high hopes for... well they are built for someone who is at least 6 ft and there is no way to adjust them. So I end up with a good bit of my time having the thing bang the back of my head painfully. I've mostly stopped even trying. Was going to switch to the hydrabed but they are always full and one of them has been broken lately. Kind of a waste of money at this point. However I am there 6 out of 7 days to do a work out. read more

I have been a black card member since it opened. I love that I can visit other locations when traveling. The only downfall to Hiram's location is they need WIFI and it's not 24/7. It's just sometimes I can't make the weekend times. For the most part it is well kept, but the bathrooms sometimes does need attention and the tanning beds. read more

I called several other gyms to ask their enrollment fees and how the process works, And I was very impressed by planet fitness in Hiram. The gentleman I spoke to you on the phone was very knowledgeable of the process. I will be going to this gym to sign up as soon as I find a break in my work schedule. Just moved to Hiram and a friend is a member. I was reluctant to join because, well I'm lazy. I have a habit of signing up for gyms, going for a few days, then not going but still paying. You all are so close to my house and I have made a habit of going 6/7 days a week for the past month. The staff is friendly and there are always open machines, I really only use the treadmill so yeah, it's open. I haven't had to wait for tanning beds, which I also tend to pay for a place and stop going after a few days. I really ah e no complaints. If I had to find a complaint, idk the music is a little louder than my headphones and I get sweaty so could use the fans a little higher. read more

I thought this would be an affordable gym, but it is not a real gym. My husband was a competing bodybuilder and trainer when we met. We spent hundreds on gym memberships over the years but no longer competing, we were thinking of looking into something close by and more affordable. Let me just say--knowing I am violating their no-judgement policy--that Planet Fitness is not about getting fit, but about feeling good about yourself while you are doing the minimum of effort. Everyone I saw going into the place was more than just out of shape, not that this is usual or unexpected, but I did not see anyone inside I would consider in shape either. What is inspiring about that? Then there are the snacks offered that do not align with recommended dietary changes people should make to become healthier. So, if you want an atmosphere where you be with people carrying 20 plus extra pounds who really do not want to make any real effort to change, munch in tootsie rolls, pizza, and breakfast rolls, while working up a minimal sweat on some aerobic type machines to feel good about who you are, this is the place for you, but if you want to really get fit...you are not going to do it in the no-judgement zone. Then there is the policy about people using the locker rooms according to the gender with which they identify that makes it not really an family friendly environment--I find it kind of ironic that it is next to Hobby Lobby. read more

So, I canceled before my year was up knowing I'd have to pay a cancelation fee (fine)..but what they fail to tell you is..even if your account is current (as mine always has been)...and even if you're a full week from your next billing date..they will charge a full additional month with very little explanation. The kid never asked why..didn't care..and when I stated I had full intention of filing a complaint and reviews as warnings to others...he yelled in a very sarcastic way in front of other customers for me to have a good evening. Also failed to recognize I'd just paid nearly 2.5 years on an account there and took a break due to medical reason..which is what came up again..so if you don't take the time to read apparently very small print..this no contract gym will cost a small fortune. Lesson learned. Will never return. And the only time I used the massage bed..a group of people came and hovered over me and watched until I finally gave up and left. holy crap, this place is awesome. no pressure to sign up, everything you sign up for is very clearly explained. The black card membership is a 12 month commitment, but you get unlimited massage chair, hydrotherapy, tanning, so its way worth it. I would be paying way way more than 20 bucks a month just for a tanning place. Its very clean, no one bothers you, plenty of machines, so you don't have to wait around. I joined this Planet Fitness about four months ago. The staff is friendly. The gym and lockerrooms are clean. The staff is always cleaning. In addition, their equipment is in great shape and even if one piece of equipment is down, it isn't down long. They have so many ellipticals and treadmills that I have never had to wait. I love this gym! The staff is always super super friendly! If they have any type of wait they do the best to go in order and be fair for whatever it may be that you're waiting on! The gym over all is pretty clean! Tanning beds work great! They have serval it everything it seems like which is nice too when the gym is full!
