Overall the gym is clean and has standard equipment. Parking lot needs daily attention and is really poor with trash in PFit parking areas that remains for days. Bathrooms are maintained. Music is all over the board. Don't believe they have the app that allows for guest to have playlists from specific approved songs. While driving to the location, be careful of all the potholes in the parking lot. It's located between Beechnut and 59. When you walk in, you check in on the left and start your workout journey. There's other stations for you to work out, not just the gym.If you have a black card, you have access to the hydro massage, body enhancement, tanning, recovery lounge, massage chairs. The restrooms need attention often. The floors are wet, and toilets are dirty. They don't provide shampoo for the showers, so be aware of that, and bring your own. This is a pretty popular Planet Fitness in a low-income area, which is probably why it's pretty popular, after all it's cheap AF. It's obviously not my favorite gym, and I don't like how they completely shame people who are good looking and attractive and dress in a confident manner, both in commercials and in gym policy. Have to admit I've been to a lot of PF's since I began my membership in 2016, however, I've never seen an attendant in deep sleep at the desk. So far so good. I finally signed up for a gym membership after putting it off for months. I needed a gym I could use during the weekends so I made a 12-month commitment at Planet Fitness. They were having a New Years' promotion with $1 down for a limited time. The sign up process was easy through their website. Basic information was needed. Afterward, you can go in person and pick up your gym tag. Staff were friendly and picking up the tag was a breeze. You can use the gym immediately. Their locker room was clean and neat. Plenty of lockers but provide your own locks. Inside the locker room had restrooms, shower rooms, and changing rooms. Plenty of cardio machines from elliptical, treadmills, bikes to stair masters. They have different areas for stretching or abs workout. In front of the cardio machines were all kinds of weight lifting machines. In addition, there are over 10 plasma TVs playing news or sports. Music was also play over the speakers at a medium level. I guess their color is a deep purple/violet color because literally everything was that color from the machines to walls. They also have additional features such as the tanning beds if you are a black card holder. This gym gets crowded around 5pm-7pm. Everyone of all ages come here. The AC was broken, it was sooooo hot, the toilets were flooded and the bathroom stunk so badly. I had a pair of leggings come up missing in the 15 minutes I was able to stand being in the building that we're never located. This gym has made my fitness journey so simple. This gym is located off I-10 and 99. The parking lot is huge, so there's no hassle on where to park. The area is pretty safe and well lit, for people who like late night workouts. There's always an associate at the front desk willing to assist. They always greet you, as you're leaving and arriving. Planet Fitness has not moved to digital key cards, so signing is simple. The gym is huge, so even when it's busy, there's always equipment available. The Planet Fitness app actually gives you a crowd meter, so you can tell if the gym is busy. The equipment is always in good shape and I have yet to come across malfunctioning. There's multiple cleaning stations, so sanitizing is easy. This gym also has a mask mandate, most patrons follow (not all). The locker rooms are spacious and there's plenty of locker space. The shower area is always clean. I haven't actually used the showers. The restroom area is also always clean. They have an air machine, instead of paper towels. I also appreciate the scale in the manual locker room. It helps me keep up with my fitness progress. read more

This gym is easy breezy, lemon squeezy. One of my biggest things is guest usage. Having guests come as a part of my plan was seamless. My guests tagged along with me, provided their phone number, and were instantly able to use the gym with NO HASSLE. I cannot tell you the number of times I have tagged along with other people at other gyms and they essentially harrass you just to be a guest. You definitely don't have to worry about that here. It's convenient, guest-friendly, 24/7. What more do you need? I never had complaints about the equipment here. They were always relatively clean & honestly, it got the job done. I know there aren't free weights. There are no pools, no basketball courts, etc. But this is a good price for a good gym. Even the cancellation process was stellar. It's down the street from me, so I popped in, told them I wanted to cancel, answered a simple 'why' question (I now work at a place with a gym, whoo!), and within a minute of signing the electronic thing, I had a copy sent to me via email. Yea yea, I should have been able to do that online... But this in person process, at this gym? Easy peasy, lemon squeezy. If I had to have another gym membership, this would be at the top of my list to sign back on. read more

Thank goodness LOL Updating to 5 stars cause it's what you can expect from planet fitness. I've been coming to this gym almost everyday day since June and like the location since it's closest to my house. My only complaint is that 4 out of the 6 stair climbers are out of order. Started with just the 1 broken one, but every other week another would jam or be out of order. If there were more stair climbers (or if they were quicker about repairs) it wouldn't be so bad but you got only 2 functional stair climbers that you gotta wait a while till it's free. Honestly the only negatives about this gym that i can think of are the fact that alot of people come here to take selfies seemingly and not work out annnd a its in a sketchy ass neighborhood. ( i mostly come very late 1am - 3am and no issues yet) The music is also obnoxiously loud but im also not big on the "normy" music so others might find it appealing, i just use my head phones. Fellow gym goer goes on weight shaming tirade simply because I asked her to wipe her machine down. Continues to belittle, threaten me, and even gestures to hit me while in front of your staff. Nothing was done. Eventually I leave and she was waiting for me in the parking lot requiring me to call 911. ~~~~ Honestly, I'm not sure how to rate it. It was my first time there. I enjoyed the availability of machines and clearly labeled instructions and sections of the gym. Told my brother to put the hammer up, she continued to insult me about being fat, disgusting, obese, a pig, that she could smell me from where she was, a bitch, a hoe, etc. She eventually did get out of her car to lift her shirt up, taunting me with "oh how you wish you looked this good" just as the cops pulled up. This is happening in YOUR parking lot. She told her side of the story and the officer sternly told her to leave. She kept yelling and cussing at me as she walked back to her car so both cops had to start yelling at her, demanding her to leave. Again, this entire time, her car had been parked behind our's and we could not pull out of our spot. Corporate, you NEED to enforce your policies. Moved out of town, went in to cancel my plan. But they continued charging me for time and time again. For 4 months. When I saw the charges I called and I promise I was polite. Asked them to please cancel and if I could get a refund of at least the charge drafted today and manager gave me an attitude, said "I'll do you the courtesy of canceling" and hung up on me. When you go apply they're super nice, they'll tell you everything you want to hear just to make the sale. I'm seeing some negative reviews and so far I have not had a bad experience. The strip center is old and looks kinda sketchy, but the gym itself is totally clean. The staff have been very helpful and friendly so far. Plenty of modern equipment. LOTS of cardio! A pretty diverse collection of weight equipment...more than one of each so you aren't constantly waiting on a machine. Also, I recommend getting the black card membership so you can take advantage of the hydro-massage chairs. Those things alone keep me motivated!! Great gym at a reasonable price. read more

By far the best gym I've ever been a member of. Only $10/month or $20 for VIP membership which includes spa-like amenities including tanning beds, full body collagen lamps, hydro massage beds and massage chairs. Also VIP membership includes visits to any Planet Fitness across the nation, which is awesome for someone who travels a lot like I do. There's super cute and up lifting little words and sayings all over the walls and equipment. "PF = No Critics," "No Gymtimidation." Stuff like that, which can make the place feel a lot less cold and more welcoming than your average LA or 24/h Fitness. They also have something they call PE@PF where you can get free consultations with trainers and training sessions, one-on-one and in group. Or you can even just get together and make a workout plan if you prefer to have more of a solo workout. They also have a PF app that you can record your workouts on, watch how-to videos to learn how to use the equipment, book training sessions, find different locations, stuff like that. For VIP membership you do need to sign a year long contract, and if you want to terminate that contract you have to pay $50. There's also a $100 sign up fee (can't remember if that related only to VIP membership or not) but when I signed up it was only $10 and when I asked why it was on discount the girl signing me up said something about how they're always throwing random discounts at them for that sign-up fee and when I signed up it had just went up from $1 to $10. My lone complaint is that they don't have a pool or sauna like a lot of other big gyms have. But the price and spa amenities more than make up for it in my opinion. read more

Don't waste your money!! This location is a complete joke!! Staff is very unprofessional and could honestly give 2 craps less about the customers or the gym. Napkin machines are ALWAYS empty, work-out equipment is constantly broken and not working, restrooms are dirty and out of paper all the time as well. The tanning and hydro beds (the whole reason I pay $22 bucks a month instead of $10 btw) are always out of order (if you're lucky one of each might be working) so you cant even enjoy your "black card perks". I've even been sitting there waiting for said bed and one of the staff members buddies will come up and BAM now their on the bed and the excuse? "Oh im sorry I thought you wanted something else" Really? GTFO with that, you've watched me sitting here the last 5 minutes waiting. I've filed several complaints and even spoke with the manager and of course nothing has change. Seems to be just as careless as his staff.. Just an over all horrible experience. This is the worst planet fitness I've ever been to. Equipment is OK but service is awful. I came just now, three on on a Sunday in Houston. It's not my home gym, but was in town. Thought I'd do some cardio while watching the NFL. Of 14 tvs facing over 80 machines, of only which I and one other person was using, only one NFL game was on: Bengals v Steelers. It was on four tvs. The rest were Mexican soap operas, MLS soccer (real salt lake though Houston was playing on another channel). I asked if they could put one of the other tvs on the Dallas Cowboys game, which was on fox. As I was asking, one of the four guys there, (a fatter guy with glasses) was eating a burrito at the front desk (don't they have a break room?) And began talking to me with his mouth full. They said gm doesn't let them change the channels. I asked if I could talk to him, but apparently I couldn't. Now, my club is five miles from the mexican border, and I'm Mexican American, so I'm not opposed to telenovelas or soccer, I just thought that, in Texas, NFL games should be on come Sundays. The Cowboys vs 49ers is a rivalry and was on public TV. Why have the same game on four of 14 tvs? Worse was their poor response. Oh, and they only had one chemical station for the whole gym in order to clean up. Just poorly run, no corporate standards and in a bad neighborhood. Never coming back. read more

This gym is ok for the price, the location is in an old run down shopping center, with a consist of 5-8 operable business. I wouldn't come here at night. Daytime seems ok.
