Nice, clean gym. Very friendly staff. Recently they got updated and new equipment which is very exciting. I tend to go to a few different locations based on what I'm doing to where I'm at. The people that work at the Kent location seem prettt biased and not friendly whatsoever. They are extremely selective they are friendly too and just really don't appreciate it. If I didn't use the other locations I would cancel my membership and go to a different gym brand altogether because of this lack of customer service. read more

Probably one of the worse PF locations. First issue is the bathrooms. Only two toilet stalls are always full, no vents and very low to the ground toilets. Just disgusting to use. The aerobic area is always full and busy. The "new" ellipticals are really awkward movements feels like I'm prancing on it. The massage chair is also very uncomfortable. Ever notice how some industries get a bad reputation just because of the people that work there? That is the case with this workout facility. I joined this gym 4 years ago based on its proximity to my workplace. The place was always clean and the admin staff was helpful when I had any questions. We moved recently and I went in to the gym to cancel my membership because our new place has a workout facility on premises. The computers were down that day I went in to cancel and I was asked to call the manager, J, at 10:00am the following day. I did so only to learn that she had not come in yet. I proceeded to call daily for the next week only to be assailed with several excuses about why she could not take my call. I finally said that I was wanting to cancel and coming in to the gym to do so was not an option for me. The rep I spoke with said that this would not be a problem and took my name, my membership number and phone number. He assured me that this would be taken care of promptly. This happened the first week of June and my membership was charged the following week, which I expected. 6 weeks later yet another charge appeared from the gym. I called only to be told that the manager was not available (surprise). I drove to the facility nearest to my new home and talked with the manager there. I took screenshots of my account from their pc and was told that he would work to get the last month refunded for me. It never happened and I was not contacted by either location afterwards. Very poor customer service and follow up. If you say that you are going to do something, do it. Plain and simple. The gym is great and the staff is good for the most part but these 2 managers need some training on follow up. read more

I've been coming here for about 3 years and it's great! Staff is friendly (especially Pedro! He's so friendly and welcomes everyone like a friend), machines are new and clean, and members are respectful of keeping distance (which is easy because there are multiples of most equipment/machines). I'm a 37 female and feel very safe here. read more

To be fair this is the best planet fitness I've ever been into, manager "Paul" who have a very good knowledge in the fitness industry and all the staff are amazing and professional, very clean and all the machines and dumbbells are clean and new. Highly recommended. read more

It's frustrating, as a disabled black card member, when I pull up and see cars with no placards parked in the disabled parking spots. What's more frustrating is when I bring it to the attention of the staff (there were 4 of them standing at the counter doing nothing) and they shrug it off and tell me to go back outside and dial a number on the sign. I have MS so walking sucks for me! No one attempts to make an announcement asking members to please move their cars if they're inappropriately parked, or go outside and get the vehicle information and make an announcement. I sometimes forget to put my placard in my window but if I hear my vehicle information I will surely go outside and put it up so that it's apparent that I'm rightfully parked. I don't want to have anyone's car towed, that's a bad move. Some accountability would be nice though! read more

Do yourself and your wallet a favor and sign up for an LA Fitness Membership instead. Sure, you might save a few dollars on the front end with Planet Fitness, but their customer service and staff lack in every possible way. Need to freeze or cancel your membership? You might get told mis information and be told "unfortunately we can't do anything for OUR employee giving the you misinformation". I froze my account in January and have been getting charged since when I was specifically told, no you won't get charged. What ever happened to taking care of your customers and the customer is always right?? When you're arguing with a corporation for $100, you know their business model is flawed. The gym itself is good, but they do not accommodate at all. I was out of state due to the pandemic, I had to change credit cards and they wouldn't let me do it at any other PF, so I had to buy a plane ticket, rent a car, just to go pay my bill, as they would not do it over the phone and I other PF would do it, it has to be the "home gym." I have wasted like 300 dollars just to pay the bill. Thanks for wasting my time, canceling my membership immediately after I pay. They also neglected to tell me they were open, so I didn't know they were charging me a late fee since July..when I called my "home" gym, nobody answered so I thought they were still closed back then...and the website kept telling me to call the "home" gym. read more

Honestly my favorite PF. Nice staff, functioning variety of clean equipment, polite gym-goers. They're also being very consistent about enforcing both COVID rules and general PF roles. No particular frills, and the staff isn't as talkative as the one on 104th, but they are also less cliquey and the regulars are not nearly as lunky. Really good gym. read more

UPDATE 9/1/2020: They have reopened aince being closed for a while during the COVID pandemic. Lots of cleaner available, masks required, every other cardio machine is blocked off to maintain social distancing. Employees keep everything wiped down. Locker rooms are open for restroom use but not showers or locker use. Only problem is that most people I see on treadmills and elliptical machines have removed their masks. Not safe. New and clean. The layout of the machines is good. Plenty of room. Restrooms and locker areas are well-kept. Employees are friendly. Toughest thing is using the 30 minute express circuit training. You are supposed to move through in a prescribed order, alternating between light cardio and one set of reps on each machine. People from other areas on the floor come over to use a machine and cut in on you, staying on the machine and doing several sets, or they are do the circuit randomly out of order. There are posted rules, but people don't follow them and the area is not monitored as it is said to be. I've been coming here for a year now, I've always had excellent customer service and everyone has always been very lovely up until today. I always carry my small backpack which holds a phone, my ID, AirPod case and car keys (very small about the size of a grande Starbucks cup). Today I was approached while doing abs and told I cannot keep it next to me even though no one was around me and it was tucked away. Every time I come here there's an issue! It's cleaner than most but for some reason I can never get in to tan, use massages nothing. I have a black card membership and never get to use these things. We joined late Dec 2023 and just canceled our membership today, 1-22-24 as the staff is rude. My husband and I are inside the gym and using the treadmills separately. The male staff approached my husband telling him to remove his pouch and if he will not remove it he can stop his exercise and leave the premise. That is so rude and unacceptable. This is a fairly new Planet Fitness open in Summer 2019. It's across Great Wall Mall that housed 99 Ranch Asian Market and other Asian Restaurant. Plenty of parking. It's usually not overly busy. According to Google Map, the peak time is usually from 5pm - 7pm. As it is new fitness club, equipment are clean and in good working condition. I usually go there when I am passing by. I agreed with CC Matter's review, that the staff require you to get the tanning googles for using the Total Body Enhancement. I told him that I have a pair of sun glasses along with a sleep shape (that totally blocks all light). I was really upset about this that I could not use the TBE. In addition, the management took down all the news channels especially MSNBC and CNN. I asked the staff and told that the management do not have to have any political biases. The person at front desk specifically said I can't let you in here with water in a gallon. Keeping in mind that they are normally out of water. Gym staff is paid to sit behind the desk. They rarely move more than is required to greet you at the door. Tell them the men's room is out of TP and they may replace it in 15-20 min or so. Actually timed it once. It'd be nice if I could go a month with finding random bolts on the ground near machines that probably need ALL of them. The mask requirement laws get zero enforcement. Not even reminders when someone maskless walks in. Only thing that keeps me coming is the proximity to my house. read more

Been a PF member for over 5 years. Switched to this one when we moved here and they are, hands down, the worst PF we have ever been to. It looks shiny and nice but the staff is AWFUL! It has to be from the management down because it is ALL THE EMPLOYEES. Sure everywhere has some bad apples but for the whole staff to treat you like garbage is a systematic problem with this specific location. We go to others in the are and they are fine; they are what you expect, being left alone to do a no frills workout. It should be easy, if you want easy... go to a different PF or join a whole different gym. AVOID THIS PLANET FITNESS. read more

When my friends & I started going here, it was good. We loved Mari, she was attentive and down to earth and made us feel welcomed. Were both black card holders so we brought guests to work out with us. We weren't fully aware of the rules and policies but was approached by someone we weren't familiar with from Planet Fitness's Corporate office that was visiting that day. She had said that the manager and staff there approached her about us and our friends working out together because we were all doing the same thing facing each other as if we were in a (as they called it) "classroom setting" & apparently, thats not allowed.. AGAIN, WE WERE NOT AWARE OF THESE RULES! I was bothered at the fact that this manager & staff always saw us, why they didn't wanna just talk to us instead of sending a stranger we've never interacted with, ill never know.. It was also embarrassing that this stranger didn't pull us to where others weren't around to school us on what was needed. I felt unwelcomed! So, I wanted to cancel my membership. My spouse keeps telling me to go and do my own thing but the ONLY good employee there was Mari & i remember Ashleigh.. That was it! The manager was a little b**** for not having the guts to let us know instead of making us feel as if we were gonna whoop his a** if he would've approached us.. As if were unapproachable.. First time checking the new planet fitness out and even though everything is new not worth it. I finished my workout and went to the locker room and a lady was walking around looking for her locker that she used. Unfortunately someone broke into it and stole her bag and lock. Apparently not all PF is the same...? We've been so spoiled at the other Kent location that this made us take one step back. The staff says it's because they're a different franchise..? We didn't get that same welcoming feeling as we do with our usual location. It's a new facility so equipment are all new and Layout is not bad either. To use the massage chairs/tanning booths, it's self service so you would scan and check yourself in. This location is much closer to home but I'm going to drive the extra distance to the other Kent location for their cheery and welcoming staff. The positive vibes helps make a good workout routine. I got yelped at the phone by their manager to tell me just cancel my membership if I don't like it just because I wanted to know why my account got charged while it was frozen. I have been in the United States for over 15 years and this is the first time I've ever met people that rude to me. I can't even believe what I heard. So immediately I went to the gym and cancel my membership as people like this just make me feel disgusting. And people here are also very racist. I don't recall being notified that my card was being charged again with the opening and closing of the facility due to Covid. Also received a voicemail they are now requiring two forms of payment on file "then I can enter their gym" is specifically what was said which rubbed me the wrong way. IMO it is already difficult to cancel any gym membership and to give them more access to my money than needed is ridiculous. I'll be going back to the other Kent location or not at all. Due to covid I was nervous about going back and for months the dues were deducted like clockwork. The few times I have been in the last month I have not witnessed one staff member wipe any machine downs. read more

The gym is new and very clean. It has a great atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and takes the time to learn member's names. I would recommend this gym, especially to people who are in the beginner to intermediate stages of going to the gym and working out. I've been going to this gym for about 2 MO now but have been working out since 2015. I go pretty often as it's near work. Last night I was working out at a cable machine with 3 attachments. A workout I have done many times with 0 issues. This older male tries to come up and take one of the attachments so I politely let him know that I was using it. He seemed aggravated, gave some kick back then left. He then comes back minuets later and escalates the situation resulting in me having to raise my voice telling him to leave me alone and go away. A few minuets after this, a staff member comes up to me with some rule pamphlet letting me know that I had a complaint about breaking policy because I was doing circuit work. I let her know that the 'complainant' came over previously and shouted at me in front of everyone. She didn't care and proceeded to tell me I was breaking the rules. I am a 5' 4" younger black woman and was harassed by an older white man over a cable attachment and was not supported by any one around me. Even with race taken out, as another woman, I feel as though the female staff employee should have at least acknowledged the wrong of the older male. At that point I just left immediately because I felt so alone in the situation as everyone just watched. PF wants to express how its a safe zone, safe for who?? Absolutely disgusting behavior from both the staff and rude older man. I went to a different location and told my story to another staff employee and they expressed their concerns greatly and let me know that the behavior of that man was not appropriate. Obviously. I went in there to cancel my membership and this lady that works there that had blonde hair and a cut in her eyebrow, simply lied to my face and was very rude to me because I am a black Muslim woman. She said that I could get a massage today, but I wasn't allowed to bring my friend even though my membership allowed that. Fern Hill Planet Fitness doesn't seem to be aware we are in a pandemic. After being closed a good portion of this year, they charged me $39.03 for yearly dues. I tried to call to cancel and got an answering machine; no call back from my voice message. I wrote an email to Planet Fitness and sent it to my husband for him to take in to PF. He does not work far from the Fern Hill location and he explained to them that I am high risk with a autoimmune disorder...they told him I had to sign the email before they would cancel and refused a refund of my yearly dues taken out this morning. While other business are working with people during this difficult time, Planet Fitness will not. They make it difficult for people to cancel as they know it is a revolving door. They could care less if there is a pandemic and people are sick and dying, they just want their money. read more
