I was in town for a couple of days and needed a quick workout--Planet Fitness came in clutch! The gym was cool and very clean, creating a comfortable environment. Despite the small space, they packed in a great variety of equipment, so I didn't have any trouble getting on a machine. The customer service was good, with friendly staff. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend it for anyone looking to fit in a workout! Missing star - I was cautious enough to visit during off-peak hours, but I can see how it could get quite uncomfortably crowded during peak times, especially given the small space. read more

Came back here to bump up this Planet Fitness a star because my biggest critique was that initially this gym was pretty behind with their equipment but happy to say no longer! I've been coming in all week while I'm down here on holiday and I was so happy to see that many of the machines from when I was here a few months ago have been upgraded! Woohoo. The biggest one that matters to me are the treadmills and those are new. Happy to see that planet fitness overall is pretty good at keeping up with their equipment and maintaining a clean and safe gym. I continue to be impressed with this location as the gym is very clean and the staff are as nice as ever. When I came by this week on my birthday the staff acknowledged this and told me happy b-day right away as I guess they can see it on the check in screen. That was a nice touch. The rest of this week staff have continued to be very welcoming and attentive as customers come in. I've gotten a friendly greeting every time so kudos to the staff here. The gym also appears well staffed and I always see them cleaning so extra kudos. Lastly, the women's changing room and bathroom is very nice and big. Bigger than my home gym and it's nice to see. The gym space is physically smaller than my home gym but at least they didn't cut corners in some areas. Nothing they can do about the layout of the space but happy that they have plenty of great equipment and happy I could bump them up a star. read more

This place has become the new boys and girls club for all the local teens, a majority are either neck bent seated on a machine, looking at their phone or BSing at the cable machines. Women's locker room has the usually teens taking multiple selfies in the mirror or a few older ladies bench warming, while looking at videos. read more

I've been a member of Planet Fitness for a long time. Unfortunately, the weekend staff is particularly lacking in their attention to the cleanliness at this location. Two staff members are behind the desk, not acknowledging patrons coming in or leaving. Weekday staff, however, does acknowledge patrons. Cleanliness issues: no toilet paper in ladies stall, two huge rolls were not replenished! Most of the garbage cans were overflowing with waste. I took pictures of 3 that were on my way out of the gym today, Sunday, around 3pm. I know this place is inexpensive but there's no excuse for this neglect! read more

I previously gave kudos to this branch but, a run down feel and bad recent hires have dragged the atmosphere here downhill. The Black Card side is filled with sketchy characters that either sleep, or sit on the couches, and chairs while they play video games. Cleanliness is suspect. Staff has an attitude. THIS ISN'T A GYM ANYMORE, IT'S A TEEN CLUB!!! I have been going here since it opened. FIRST, the gym staff are amazing! They are trying to get this place together but cooperate is screwing this location! High School kids, for the second year now, have been destroying the equipment, gathering in masses and goofing off taking up equipment, in an already very small gym for its membership size! Members have been complaining like crazy since last summers free "high school" program, but cooperate refuses to listen, and now paying members are paying the price. We are paying by not being above to use equipment because it's either broken or taken up by teens who don't care. Customer service is telling us "be patient" or "parts are back ordered" etc! Well, here's an idea, stop letting kids in that don't have any investment in it (for free), and machines won't break as much! EOS is coming soon down the street, they are going to bankrupt this location if you get your heads out of you 4-points of contact! read more

great facilities but frustrated by extra costs. I went to work out and then tan. When I asked for the stickers to cover my eyes she said she was just covering and didn't know where anything was. Then proceeded to tell me I had to buy the tanning goggles if I wanted to use the machine. I pay $30 a month. I don't want to have to pay more. As a black card member I'm very frustrated. Probably won't be returning here next summer. Edit - the issue wasn't that I had to wear protection. I'm happy too for my own safety. The issue was she wanted me to spend $20 versus 50 cents for a sticker. read more

I love the concept of Planet Fitness. I use them all over North America. I would just avoid the one in La Quinta - it is the worst Planet Fitness location I have have ever used. What's a nice way to say worst gym ever? Every afternoon they allow a bunch of high school kids to just cluster & hang out around the machines with their friends. Laughing, acting g stupid and being obnoxious, which does NOT allow for a good work out. You go say something & the people at the front & they just shrug their shoulders and do nothing. On top of the bad environment, there are limited machines & not in good shape. Save your time and money and go elsewhere. This place sucks. read more

I made the mistake of joining this one and ran into many irritations with them more than a year ago with them insisting I had to come into their location to cancel and I was in Los Angeles with a family emergency. They claim that's been changed now. Despite my irritation feeling like they were poorly run and kind of scamming me out of money, I thought I'd try it again. Without getting to the absurdly long ridiculous story I was told first by the manager and then a supervisor on billing (which made no sense on the date that I would be charged if I just wanted to try it), it was a front desk girl who actually seemed to know what she was talking about and corrected what I had been told. The problem here is the billing is shady and for the girl at the front desk to say all the information is right there and she's reading it to me and it to be completely different from what both the manager and the supervisor told me regarding payments during their special offer of a dollar for sign up, is not only ridiculous and outrageous but shows a certain level of ambiguity and dishonesty from management. Obviously either they know or they don't know and if they don't know they should read what's sitting in front of the girl at the front desk. They said billing is on the 10th of the month with it posting for some reason on the 17th. I was first told by the manager and supervisor that I could join on the 10th without paying for a month so I could try it out as I had knee replacement. When I went to do it online, it threw in the $25 black card payment that they guaranteed I would not be charged until September 10. So I waited till the 17th which is what the girl had told me, and today's the 18th so I tried again and this time they flipped around what was being charged and even though it's a dollar commitment I would still have to pay the $25 upfront for a month, even though my knee might only handle it for a few days as we're uncertain my newly replaced knee is ready. Gyms are notorious for ripping off and being opaque, but this is absurdly poorly managed with incorrect information being dished out that would only benefit them. And that's the interesting thing about corporations. The incorrect info given to us is never in a way that benefits us but always them. I'm done and will be joining EOS today which is not only a superior gym, but much better managed. Come on guys...geez. read more

The Corporate office has clearly forgotten about this location. Nothing get the service it needs. The showers are out of hot water much of the time (they had a plumber here and the problem was fixed...for two weeks). Then the problem reoccurring and continues. The handicap shower has been "closed off for a month and a half, only because there is no shower wand (can't they just buy one at the Target next door to them?). I guess that PF does not think that handicap individuals work out (or shower). Why has it taken so long?? Always filthy at this location. I have noticed a used Q-tip stuck in the divider wall mounts for 5 months. And, it's STILL there! Clear evidence that they only wipe surfaces and do NOT thoroughly clean anything. (I could dispose of it myself and not complain, but now I kinda wanna see how long they can possibly ignore it. I thought of making a vlog about it just for fun.) read more

i have tried to like this gym. the people who work there could not care less about you or your workout. one day it's only one girl behind the counter only looking at her phone. not looking at anyone walking in or checking they were logged in. so I feel like an idiot paying monthly when I could walk in and work out for free. yesterday. three guys behind the counter also not paying attention and never walking around helping members work out better. better form suggesting improvement. nothing. the worst is I witnessed very few people cleaning their machines after using. I usually love coming to this location. Very clean, nice staff, not crowded. Everything works. However for the summer they are letting HS students in for FREE. Thanks! Now it is crowded, many do not know how to use the equipment properly, they hang around... Just one question. WHY? Why do this to your paying members? Been with this gym for about two years now, only thing I dislike the employees stand around don't interact or seem up beat. My wife says The women's restroom is nice and clean, how ever for the past few months it smells like sewer. Told the staff at front desk they are aware of the smell. However they said they brought this to their managers attention and they have done nothing about the smell. They told us to leave a review. I'm hoping they fix this problem so people don't get sick smelling that sewer. read more

All week sign out front said " Close at 3pm on Christmas eve." We walk in to get our hour workout and we are told that they will be kicking people put at 2:30. BTW, the signs were taken down. At 2:50 we were told,per manager, if we don't leave our memberships will be canceled. This is Planet Fitness's third strike. Although this is probably one of the smallest Planet Fitness locations I've ever visited, it was one of the cleanest and had updated machines. Upon entering the gym the staff was very friendly and professional. The locker rooms were really clean, something I can't say for a lot of gyms. The equipment such as the treadmills and bikes were different from the ones you normally find at PF but I enjoyed them. The only issue I could find with this gym is size. read more

The staff at the front desk is incredible - always friendly and greeting you- so helpful with anything you need - always courteous - I love the rule of masks and no cell conversations in gym - most people obey the rules .. The machines are clean and there are plenty of stations for cleaner and towels - I can't enough good things about the gym ... now , on another note.. There are a couple arrogant jerks - totally clueless- mask off, turning the gym into their office - One guy in particular , who needs to be asked to leave --- never put on his mask and talked loudly on Bluetooth the entire time he was there.... These people need to be asked to leave and not come back - the rest of us are obeying the rules , and happy too ..... Good location with a quaint and clean layout. Staff is accomodating and the place can be busy around holidays and weekends. Because this place is smaller, equipment is limited but most popular machines and weights are available. Black card members may have to wait for massagers and full body enhancers since there are only a couple. I see the staff constantly cleaning and wiping down equipment and counters and you can feel good knowing the place is sanitary. If you're a member coming from a different location AND you don't have your fob, itll take some time to check in. They'll need to call your home gym to verify, etc... their computer systems arent hooked up to other locations and don't talk to eachother on the backend. read more

Barely joined once I got my vaccine. The front desk staff are so sweet! Johnny helped me get set up and it's always really nice to see him. The machines and facilities are kept super clean and I love that they're open 24hrs! No more excuses! It can get a bit crowded mid mornings but the app updates you on how crowded it gets. I've been a member since this gym opened and one thing i've noticed is the gym is ALWAYS so clean when Mayra is working! So much appreciated. I joined Planet Fitness 2 years ago and have been happy with the amenities . the staff at the front desk are courteous and helpful. I noticed that one of the staff members looked new, like I hadn't seen her before and she was cleaning the women's bathroom . It was very clean and nice and I complemented her on it. Her name is Myra and since then, when I come in, I notice she is always cleaning the equipment etc. What a great employee ! She always stops to say a quick hello . I enjoy coming here ! read more

6/19/2020 Back to Planet fitness today. Even with the governor's order requiring masks in any indoor public space, they are not requiring masks, or using any social distancing. Members are allowed to work use equitment as close as 2' from one another. There are no signs on the floor about social distancing, or even suggesting members wear masks. This is irresponsible reckless. Especially in an area where 50% of the population is 65. or older. 6/18/2020 I was shocked to find PF not requiring masks on the gym floor. How dangerous in Calif where Covid cases are on the rise. There's also the fact that 50% of the population in the Palm Springs area is 65 and older. The work out stations are not 6' apart. Hate their Free summer program for high school kids . Why ? Because the gym get super crowed . All the kids are going in the group and just take over all the machines . Joined 3 months ago. just checked my bank statement and found that they were double billing me every month and for the yearly fee as well. Call to get it fixed and was told I must talk to Jesus the manager. Called back and told him I was being double billed and he said it was my banks fault and that I had to come in a prove that they were over charging me. My "home gym" is Coachella Planet fitness. I've been going to the La Quinta one since February 2023 with my coworker in the morning. (It is a farther drive for me) I don't mind the farther driver because of a staff member who has taken the time to help us understand some of the equipment. Charles works the graveyard shift at LQ. He is a very friendly and motivating staff member. I have always hated the gym because I didn't know how to utilize the equipment provided. Charles is THE ONLY staff member who walks around and checks in with members durning workouts. He strikes up conversations and helps when members ask. He is the only staff member I feel comfortable asking how to use something. He is the only one because he is the only one who is approachable and not on his phone or just sitting behind the counter. It makes gym days feel longer when Charles isn't there cheering us on and motivating us. Please give his man a raise and more days so we can stay motivated and have a friendly face when we enter the gym. Charles is truly one of the best and this guy deserves recognition! If you are like me and not sure how to use gym equipment and get nervous to ask go to planet fitness LQ Charles works Monday and Tuesday's he starts in the late evening and is out by 6am. read more

Totally disappointed with Planet Fitness LQ today. I had a problem with one of the employees walking into the Mens locker room unannounced to tell me about wearing a mask which I had gotten out of my bag. "Que something " had an attitude and said she can come into the locker room anytime she wanted to. She was rude, unprofessional and had no regard to privacy of the mens locker room. To make things worst I went to the front desk and Omar who assumed to be the supervisor would not give me the manager contact or contact anyone. This place is pretty small, one of the smallest gyms I have be to. There are not many fitness gyms here in Coachella Valley so I was upset to see that a Planet Fitness was not big at all. There is always staff but they just sit at the desk and do not do any cleaning or fixing of equipment around the gym. At other PF's the staff is constantly cleaning and restocking.
