The bathrooms at this location are horrible they need to clean this gym bathrooms every time I visit it's nasty

Kudos to this location for being the only one open in metro ATL right after our first snow day! This location is not lacking any equipment- so it felt a little crowded. I found it hard to obtain a location to use the mat- not enough floor space to stretch or warm up. MANY treadmills & ellipticals for cardio. The Spa area feels a bit isolated and hidden, I was not comfortable back there alone but I did use the total body enhancer to warm up. The staff was very helpful with guiding me to the right locations as it was my first time at the location. read more

I was subjected to discrimination, harassment, and retaliatory conduct, by Jonathan, the "said" manager, resulting in him personally deciding to terminate my membership under inappropriate circumstances. Importantly, Planet Fitness withdrew my annual membership fee from my bank account the day prior to this incident. To experience this type of treatment immediately after payment was collected is unacceptable and deeply concerning. The issue originated when Jonathan objected to my workout method. I pull a bench away from the Smith machine to use as a guide for squats. This is a safe and commonly accepted practice and does not violate any posted Planet Fitness rules or policies. Following this interaction, Jonathan began closely monitoring my presence during subsequent visits. While other staff members and gym patrons interacted with me in a friendly and professional manner, Jonathan repeatedly stared at me with visible irritation, creating an uncomfortable and hostile environment. Jonathan is the only staff member at this location who exhibits this behavior. Other employees are generally polite and approachable; however, Jonathan's unfriendly and uninviting demeanor is distinct and negatively impacts the atmosphere of the facility. This facility has been my home location for several years, and I attend regularly. The situation escalated during my most recent visit, I was wearing a Jesus-themed T-shirt when Jonathan approached me and alleged that I was violating a "no bags" policy. I keep a small, lightweight bag beside me at all times because it contains medication that must remain immediately accessible. Due to Jonathan's hostile approach and my right to medical privacy, I did not feel obligated to disclose personal medical information. Rather than de-escalating the situation, Jonathan pretended to clean equipment and followed me to another area of the gym, where he again demanded that I either place my bag in a locker or leave it at the front desk. He stated that failure to comply would result in cancellation of my membership, an ultimatum that was unwarranted and unprofessional. His conduct was intimidating, harassing, and unnecessary. I have been a member of this Planet Fitness location for several years and have never previously been warned, cited, or disciplined regarding my bag, which I keep out of the way of others and clear of all equipment. This issue arose only after Jonathan began directing heightened and selective scrutiny toward me, while similar behavior by others going unaddressed. I immediately contacted the Planet Fitness complaint line to report the incident. When I subsequently asked Jonathan for his name, he identified himself as "Jonathan" and informed me that my membership had been cancelled. In addition to these concerns, I wish to formally document ongoing issues related to facility maintenance and cleanliness. Staff frequently congregate at the front desk rather than ensuring adequate availability of cleaning supplies and paper towels throughout the gym. Cleaning appears inconsistent and substandard, including a dirty restroom, visible streaks on mirrors and glass surfaces, suggesting improper cleaning practices. These conditions raise concerns regarding cleanliness standards and managerial oversight at this location. Taken together, these events demonstrate discrimination, retaliation, failure to reasonably accommodate a legitimate medical need, unprofessional conduct by management, and inadequate attention to facility maintenance and member experience. read more

5590 Mableton Pkwy, Mableton, Georgia Planet Fitness location does not live up to its "Judgment Free Zone" promise. I'm writing this review as a Black, gay, queer man who was denied the right to work out at this location -- simply because of what I was wearing. On July 10, 2025, I entered the Mableton Parkway Planet Fitness wearing a navy-blue tank top and red compression shorts -- standard fitness attire, well within normal dress code expectations. The general manager, Jonathan Straham, stopped me at the front and told me I was "in violation of dress code." I calmly asked for clarification, and even pulled up Planet Fitness's own guidelines -- which say nothing about compression shorts being prohibited. Despite this, I was told I "needed to put more clothes on" or I couldn't work out. I stood my ground respectfully. I asked for a regional manager or someone from corporate to speak with. Jonathan refused and escalated the situation by:     *    Calling the police on me     *    Threatening to cancel my membership     *    Telling law enforcement to ban me from the property     *    Refusing to explain how my attire violated any actual policy I was issued a criminal trespass warning, simply for trying to use the gym I pay for -- while being Black, queer, and confidently dressed in the body I show up in every day. Even more disturbing: after speaking out, I heard from other Black queer men who had experienced similar discrimination at this same location. That tells me this wasn't an isolated incident -- it's a pattern of exclusion and bias. Planet Fitness claims to be a "safe space" for all bodies and identities, but this location is doing the opposite. If you're LGBTQ+, if you're Black, if you express yourself outside of someone else's comfort zone -- be warned. You might be harassed, denied service, and humiliated for wearing what others at the same gym are allowed to wear. I've filed formal complaints with Planet Fitness corporate, the franchise association, and civil rights organizations. I will not stop until this is addressed, publicly and professionally. This gym owes me -- and everyone who walks in with courage and pride -- an apology and a serious change in leadership. read more

Extremely disappointed with how I was treated at this Planet Fitness location. I've been a member for months and always wear compression shirts and shorts--standard, comfortable workout gear. No one has ever said a word to me about it until today. I walked in, checked in, and passed by the manager with no issue. Ten minutes into my treadmill run, he taps me on the shoulder to tell me my shorts are "inappropriate." No warning, no posted policy update, and definitely no discretion. It was embarrassing and completely unnecessary. What's worse is I've seen other members wearing much more revealing outfits without being approached. So why me? The whole experience felt targeted and inconsistent with the "Judgement Free Zone" that Planet Fitness advertises. If dress code policies are going to be enforced, they should be clearly posted and applied fairly to everyone--not selectively. Do better, Planet Fitness. read more

Not a fan. The ropes with super worn and painful to hold. It was crowded, not many machines, and people clearly didn't wipe seats or rerack weights. The women's changing room was also oddly cold. read more

Love this location. Aries is an awesome employee! Very helpful and informative. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is brocade because they have a RUDE ass trainer (SABRINA) I literally asked her one question about the function of some equipment in the gym, and she literally continued to walk past me as if she didn't hear me, ignoring me. Her response to my question was dry and she made me feel as if I was bothering her. I went on to say "I apologize for bothering you" (obviously being sarcastic because girl I can ask you anything, you are an employee!) and she's like "yeah it's all good it's okay" I don't care if you are cleaning the bathrooms or if you're the damn GENERAL MANAGER ... You are an employee of Planet Fitness! Anyting a paying customer asks you, should not be made to be a problem! Y'all need to check her. read more

Since the fall has arrived, so has new employees and honestly if you don't talk to the workers or care to greet them, they target you and start harassing you about leaving your cellphone next to you, you can't really enjoy the gym with someone coming to you and correcting you bout your bag , your clothes choices and well I guess being alive. I miss the old manager, these kids are dictators, you are better off at Hiram, at least they will welcome and allow you to leave your bag and water bottle by you esp while using a floor Matt. (Mableton doesn't allow you to do that ) also they'll cancel your membership if you do leave even your item by your side even if it's just out of habit or you forgot sad read more

This is my favorite place to workout. The place is always clean and not super busy when I go (mornings) I've never had to wait on anyone to use a machine. The Redlight therapy and massage beds/chairs are a also the perfect way to end my workouts. read more

A good size planet fitness but needs some updates. I visited this location multiple times while traveling and there was multiple machines that were out of order even basic cable breaks that were not fixed. The bathroom was never very clean and I did not feel comfortable taking a shower there. Not clean since Covid. This place use to sparkle......not anymore! The womens locker room is visibly dirty and the treadmills all have dirt build up. After 5 years of membership I'm severely disappointed. I carry my own Lysol wipes with me whenever I workout! Just not cool! read more

A fan of planet fitness. Just not a fan of Mableton planet fitness. I have been to a few states and frequent the gym in most of the states I go to. Let's start with the positives. Spacious, plenty of machines/equipment to change up routines. All the amenities as the other gyms. Neutral: the employees. While the employees can be friendly they don't seem to want to be bothered. They try to avoid eye contact, and don't usually speak unless they peel their eyes away from their cell phones to see you standing at the desk looking confused. Negatives: they don't clean! they spray everything until there is no chemical in the can, but don't actually wipe, sweep, or mop. The one thing I can usually say about planet fitness is they don't play about cleaning (before corona). This gym is disgusting. I only return out of convenience. Pay the employees more to actually clean or hire some people to clean continuously. Actually planet fitness owner. I am curious why you don't have more of those papers that cover the toilet in the stalls vs the wall next to the sink. Hopefully I won't need to speak to management for the gym to get a good cleaning. read more

There's nothing like a wedding to make a woman want to slim down, right?? I was a previous member at another gym and had been thinking of switching to Planet Fitness for some time after going as a visitor with my fiancé a few months ago. I finally decided to open up a membership last week. It's a 24-hour gym in the shopping plaza off Mableton Parkway where K-Mart used to be. And if you have an affinity for the color purple, this place is for you. It's a typical gym with lots of cardio equipment and weights, and TVs to watch while you're working up a sweat. There's also a Black Card area for members ( free use of total body enhancements, unlimited fitness training, massage chairs, etc ). It's not as big as LA Fitness, nor does it have as many classes, but there is an option to create your own workout with the personal trainers at no cost, and there's a few classes scheduled throughout the day. There's also a separate area for stretching and an area for 30 minute workouts that I would assume are led by the personal trainers if needed. The locker room had plenty of lockers, and the bathroom and shower areas were very clean. Also, when you sign up you get a free t-shirt ( if you like free incentives ). I only gave it 4 stars due to there not being as many classes to take, but other than that, the gym is nice, and affordable. Check it out! read more

This gym is decent. The staff is nice and I like the people that come to work out here -- very friendly and it is definitely a no-judgment zone. It's great for those who may not necessarily feel too comfortable working out in front of others. I can see it truly helping one's confidence, which is great. The gym is also very clean, including the bathrooms. Cons: This location gets super busy at night, and is rather crowded. That's expected of course, but I'm the type of person that needs to be able to get in and out of the gym so I found myself always having to be mindful of peak times. The mornings is usually very empty and by the time it's Friday and the weekend, there's barely anyone there, which is nice. This gym is also pretty small to me compared to the one in Smyrna. I cancelled my membership here all together though and went elsewhere, because I felt like PF wasn't meeting my needs in terms of available machines and what I would like to do, and it was a hassle having to wait for someone to be done with a machine so that I could use. read more

Initially I was very excited about joining this gym. Lots of bang for my buck, with plenty of machines, massage beds and a wide-variety of weight machines. I work-out at various locations throughout Atlanta and this location by far is the dirtiest. The female locker room always looks like a hurricane hit it. I work-out at 5:00 a.m. during the week and 8:00 a.m. on weekends. It doesn't matter what day or time I come in it's always filthy. I've brought it to the attention of staff members yet nothing seems to happen. What sense does it make to have everyone wiping down equipment yet you can't use their restrooms? Please be aware of busy times posted or you will be run over by other patrons hence why I prefer early morning workouts. If you have the time to return home and shower before work do so. read more

For some reason this location has been closed for a week due to no power to the building. It seems a little strange to me as it is a strip shopping center and the other stores are open without issue. When I asked the Dollar store next door what was going on, they said that they did not know as nobody had issues with power. However, on the door the club claims no power. I am not a black card member so I am not allowed to use other locations. Very unhappy. read more

I use to go to LA Fitness a few years ago and it would be so packed that at times I would just turn right back around and leave. I really like Planet Fitness for the fact that the location I joined has a lot of machines where you can just get right on and start working out. It is truly a no judgement zone and they have some pretty interesting ways of doing things. I started with the basic package but once I go enough I will bump it up to the next package so I can alternate locations and use the massage chair and bed. read more

This is the planet fitness I go to in the mornings as it is super close to work. It really cuts down on travel time if I'm already near my job. I noticed that almost planet fitness locations are just OTP which is something I love and hate. Huge facility, ample parking. When I went here at 6pm to sign up, the staff were very helpful and informative. Wish someone had shown me around and explained some stuff. I guess I'll have to ask. The place was clean and simple. Nice place to get fit & unwind in Lil Mableton! The staff is welcoming & the atmosphere is loose & non-judgemental--just like they say. There are all shapes & sizes & everybody seemed to stay in their own zone. A few REALLY buff guys & girls but nobody got loud & obnoxious. Seemed to be several families, also. The massage beds are awesome & the 3 or 4 times I've been, there was no wait! I don't know "peak" times, though. I've usually gone after work--6'ish. (PM) Actually, there's no wait for anything @ that time. So, there. Just a nice, clean facility with free weights, circuits, & good quality machines in Fam-tastic Mableton. read more

The ad on the tv says one dollar down ten dollars a month, but when you get there they want to charge you $39 dollars and $39 dollars a year. Their ad is totally is a total misrepresentation. I feel like getting Morgan and Morgan for the people. I would rather pay $40 a month to LA Fitness than to pay $10 a month to Planet Fitness, because I don't trust them.
