And noooooo they don't have cardio kickboxing, zumba, spinning, or whatever the newest workout craze is. It's a basic no frills gym...so on your first visit, don't expect a guy named "Jeeves" to greet you at the door with a bottled water from Iceland. What you CAN expect is a clean gym (and locker room with showers) equipped with all you need to get in a good, thorough workout. They even provide complimentary personal training for any rookies. All this for $10 a month. Yep only $10 bucks. I'm currently learning to speak Yelpish, so I'll translate: The member ship fee is equal to: The sauteed calamari appetizer at Orsay or A sandwich at The French Pantry For $20 a month, you get the "Black Card" upgrade with unlimited use of tanning beds, massage chairs, and you get half priced cooler drinks (or "happy hour priced cooler drinks" in Yelpish). Went into this Planet Fitness for the first time. It was raining outside. We opened our iphones, scanned in, and were stopped to show ID. People don't typically bring their wallets into the gym so I asked if we could start working out and get our ID's after the rain died down. Kobe said no. I then found both of our ID's on my phone, showed Kobe, and asked if he could take our picture so we wouldn't have to go through that again. He said no. James then walked up, asked Kobe what was going on, and then offered to take our picture so there wouldn't be such a delay next time. The same exact thing Kobe said he couldn't do! I asked why Kobe told me he couldn't do it and James said, "Because I know more than him." I then worked out and guess what I asked 90 minutes later? Did Kobe learn to take pictures? Nope. Just bad service led from an owner who was made aware of a problem last week, did nothing, and then let it happen again to us. The issue is we don't pay that gym's owner according to Kobe. He said the owner of this location owns three gyms and if we don't pay one of them three then we have to show ID every workout which is unlike every other PF club. Horrible. read more

So I understand the pandemic is going on. The gym closed they charged me the day it closed. Then when it opened back up I got charged crazy fees and then days money wasn't supposed to leave my bank account so my bank charged me for planet fitness tryna dig money out. At this point I wouldn't even recommend this gym at all and I've been with PF since 2015 this is so sad cause the fees only started this year. I ain't get no email no update nobody said it would cost so much. The employees are always good, gyms always clean but with the corona going on I'm tryna minimize going there. LMAO why June 18th they tried to take money out? My bank charged me their fee because PF tried to take their money out on a random a** date. Then on June 26th I got charged $10.35 where's that amount come from? I didn't have a lot of time before I left and I'm 3000 miles away in Washington state, over 1 hour from a related gym trying to spend time with my twin 12 year old boys as they are going through testing at Seattle's Childrens hospital for a rare form of genetic MS, during a pandemic and they refuse to let me out of my contract without a certified letter or me going to thier office....3000 miles away. The manager said that she would not cancel my membership. I have charges that total $100.20 while my contract stated I would be charged $80.86 in the same time period and I went to the gym one time in June. read more

Great gym for beginners, for only 10$ a month they have a lot of the basic things you would want to get into fitness. Their staff is really good, the place is always clean and there is a lot of amenities for upgrading to the black card. The only negatives are the lack of free weights, calisthenics rings and you can not use chalk. So eventually you might want to go somewhere else when you are more advanced with fitness. read more

For what you get, the price is outstanding...in fact, because it is open 24hrs (except on weekends) you are actually getting much more for your money! You pay between $10 and $20 a month, depending on what advantages you'd like. I am a "Black Card" member which only comes in handy to me when I have guests or if I leave town because I was born with a deep tan, I'm a glutton for human contact massages and I bring my own drinks. This gym has a very simple layout and is decently sized so that you don't ever feel too crowded, even on those days where it seems like all of Orange Park is working on their beach body lol I kind of wish they did have group classes like Zumba and spinning, etc but I don't want to pay for them so....I'm good. They do have personal training options; I don't know how it works to be honest with you but I've seen others utilizing them and they seem to be very motivating without being jerks. While I love this gym because I can pretty much come here anytime, except when I work on the weekends, there are some drawbacks. There are areas dedicated to circuit training which are rarely monitored. So needless to say people who aren't doing the circuit end up in these areas and take up space and the flow of the circuits. It may sound like nit-picking but the same equipment is on the main floor. If you're comfortable working out on your own or with a friend and enjoy massage chairs/beds and tanning, and have some patience in the circuits this is a good choice. read more

Can't beat $10 for a monthly gym membership with no contract. I believe I joined when they had some $1 to sign-up promo plus I believe there's a yearly fee (like most gyms have). They've got everything you need to get your fitness on... a buncha treadmills, ellipticals, and a lot of other machines. A plus from this location vs the 103rd location, they've got 3 flat barbell benches and 2 incline barbell benches. I wish they had a squat rack here but they've got 3 smith machines. The only thing that it really doesn't have are classes but hey, I'm not paying $30+ here a month so can't complain. There's a $20 a month membership you can join as well. It's benefits are discounted drinks, use of tanning (i'm already naturally super tan so no need), use of the massage chairs, and you can bring a friend with you to the gym. This option might be the way to go if you liked to tan and could split the cost with your significant other or friend that will work out with you. Wish they had a Planet Fitness in Hawaii... all the gyms are $30+ a month! read more

If I could put -10 stars I would. The manager there is a bitch, the employees are incompetent and tell you incorrect information. And when you call to have your membership cancelled, and you get wrong information that caused more money to come out of your account- after you were told it wouldn't- the manager pretty much says, "FUCK YOU, my employees can say whatever they want and even if it causes you more money, your stuck in a contract and I won't help you with any of this (even though it was HER EMPLOYEES FAULT) because we want your money." Refused to refund my money and did so without the manager even being on site the week this happened. Terrible experience and very embarrassing to say the least. Allegations were not true! I visited my aunt this weekend and I decided to go to the gym. I go in and Ariel Sims was at the counter. I paid 20 DOLLARS for a day pass which is usually valid for 24 hours. I made sure to ask her if it was indeed valid for 24 hours because most gyms do that. She said yes, just bring in your receipt and you'll be able to workout. So I go in today and a silly string looking boy tells me that it's only valid for that day and if I wanted to workout again I would have to purchase another day pass for 20$. So 40$ for two days? That is ridiculous. On top of that, a water bottle was 2$ and an energy drink was 3$. I just don't understand how their monthly passes are 10$ and a day pass is 20$. I am a member at the Orange Park Planet Fitness and normally have only good things to say about it. The appearance is very clean, equipment is in good condition, and staff are very friendly. I'm a health care professional and expressed a concern regarding infection control practices at this location which have been ignored which is why I'm writing this review. At work one of my responsibilities is to monitor breaches in infection control and to correct it. Planet Fitness requires it's members to clean the equipment to make it "squeaky clean" which is a very good thing. However, they are asking their members at this location to pick up equipment cleaning bottles which are touched by everyone and they do not have hand sanitizer available in the gym except as you enter the door to the gym. I've spoken to the manager on 2 occasions and it's been over a month with no response. To drive home my point I have observed on several occasions members using the bathroom without washing their hands. Yes, wiping their butt and blowing their nose without washing their hands and returning to the workout floor. After not washing their hands they proceed to pick up the spray bottle potentially spreading ecoli and or corona virus to every gym member that touches those bottles. I'm in no way a germaphobe but please don't tell me to pick up the spray bottles and tell me it's to protect your members and not have hand sanitizer readily available to clean my hands. Other Planet Fitness locations such as Fleming Island have hand sanitizer bottles dispersed around the gym and the Jacksonville location attached hand sanitizer bottles to every cleaning station. I'm not sure why the Orange Park location is not taking the safety of their members seriously? It's not about giving the illusion of safe practice but truly following through when a breach is identified! read more

I have been going to Planet Fitness since July and every time I go (which is on average about 6 times a week) multiple machines are broken or out of order. They have probably 20 treadmills and only half of them work at a time. The ones that do work are missing buttons. Half the staff is nice but the other half are rude. The blonde manager girl is always nice and what I am assuming is a manager in the morning (guy kinda short shaved head) is super nice. But everyone else always seems like they don't want to be there. They also can't seem to keep employees very long. Only 1 sink in the bathroom works. If you are looking for cheap this is it but you get what you pay for. I used it because its cheap and all I needed was a treadmill and an elliptical with light weights. Now, come to find out, they are remodeling and shutting the gym down for over a month. Their fix is we can drive 10 miles out of our way and use another Planet Fitness. I'm sorry but I signed up for this gym with the idea that I would only use this gym and its right down the street from my house. I have a busy and chaotic life and going out of my way in rush hour traffic isn't going to fit into my daily schedule. When we mentioned this the first person said we could freeze out accounts for a month and wouldn't get charged but wouldn't be able to use the gym. I thought, okay, this might work I can just run the street and ride my bike around town to get some exercise during the holiday. I went back the next day and was told that wasn't possible. That because they are allowing us to use other facilities they can't freeze the account. I am done and I am not dealing with this place. They are rude, dirty, and broken and if they arent going to work with me over something small like 10 bucks a month then I am out. read more

I joined this gym about 4 years ago. When I joined I loved it and it was always so clean. I traveled to Atlanta for work I was there for one year traveling back and forth. Atlanta gym off Chamblee is so very clean the staff is always cleaning wiping down equipment but also cleaning the locker room. When they clean the locker they actually clean it by sanitizing the showers and scrubbing them, cleaning the sinks, the toilet and mopping the floors and they do that every couple of hours. After experiencing that and coming back to my permanent location in orange park where they do wipe down the gym equipment but as far as the locker room it does not getting any attention at all. I have seen them come in may be a couple of times my entire time being back and I'm there on a regular basis. When they come in they come with a cloth and a spray bottle. I have never ever seen them clean the shower and I know that they don't clean the shower, because there is hair that I have seen days before in there and it looks dirty and oily. I have actually seen the staff come in and just look in each shower and then just pull the shower curtain back. This is very important to me because I normally go to the gym before going to work so I like to take a shower after my work out and having a dirty shower or locker room is not sanitary. I will be looking for another planet fitness in Jacksonville to transfer to for 2019. More attention to the locker room is my only complaint about the orange park location. read more
