I had a very uncomfortable experience at the Planet Fitness on Lakewood Blvd. My interaction with Izabel S. left me feeling singled out and unfairly treated. I was told I had to take a photo for their files, but the process was not clearly explained to me, and I was not given any information about how the image would be stored, used, or protected. When I asked questions, I did not feel like my concerns were taken seriously. The entire situation made me feel racially profiled. Being pressured to take a picture without transparency about its purpose felt invasive and unnecessary. Given the location and the overall environment, I unfortunately wasn't surprised by how the situation was handled -- but that doesn't make it acceptable. Being made to feel uncomfortable, especially during Black History Month, over something that should have been handled respectfully and professionally, was disappointing. I joined expecting a welcoming and judgment-free atmosphere, but this experience did not reflect that at all. I hope management takes concerns like this seriously and ensures staff are trained to communicate policies clearly and treat every member with dignity and respect. Response: Respectfully, the burden should not be on me to reach out again. As a business, management should have taken the initiative to contact me directly after such a serious concern was raised. Simply asking me to come back and speak with management does not address the discomfort and distrust that was created. I do not feel comfortable reaching out to management at this location. Based on my experience, it appears that employees are not consistently applying policy but instead acting on personal discretion. When someone has been coming to your establishment for over six months without issue, suddenly being pressured to have their image stored without a clear explanation of the policy, data use, or privacy protections is unacceptable. There was no transparency about why the photo was required, how it would be stored, or how my privacy would be safeguarded. That is a legitimate concern. If this is truly a company-wide policy, it should be communicated clearly and applied consistently -- not selectively. It is also my belief that Izabel handled the situation in an unprofessional manner. On multiple occasions I have observed her disengaged at the front desk, turned away while talking with other employees rather than assisting members. The way this interaction was handled felt targeted and unnecessary. If Planet Fitness truly strives to provide a welcoming and judgment-free environment, that standard must be reflected in action -- not just in a templated response. I would expect corporate leadership, not just local management, to review this matter seriously. read more

Gym is always clean when I have gone I typically go bright and early 4:30 am. The machines are typically free and easy to use when I want to use them. The workers are always friendly. I live and Downey and have a gym that's closer but prefer to drive cause I like that the gym itself is bigger and the machines are new . read more

I understand we can't have cross body bags on the floor or bags in general for the sake of the rules but i don't recall the manger saying that we can leave food on the floor. Also make sure you have the equipment area clean since i believe that is something new or the lack of the manger not managing correctly read more

I'm giving. Planet fitness, a one star, not because of their gym or their equipment. It's actually great but for their parking lot. My car has gotten broken into 3 times already. With very little surveillance and No security patrolling the parking structure is awful. There's a bunch of drug addicts. And homeless park along the wall, so it's very unsafe. I'm usually not a person that leaves reviews, but I ended my membership with planet. I have been going here for a few months. I was recently hit with the no bag policy and I completely understand. It was the way the message was delivered and the fact that plenty of people around me carrying bags and purses. Yesterday was my last day and last interaction with the manager with blonde hair again, it was the approach and the aggressiveness about the no bag policy, I was going to receive my lock soon too. What really bothered me is that plenty of people carry bags and weren't addressed. The person working out next to me had a bigger tote bag and nothing was said. Feels like I was targeted. it was my 1st time visiting this facility .. i've been to many in different states even and never experienced this problem. i worked out and went to take a 15 minute shower and someone stole my new jordan 1s and went through my bag in my locker . when brought to staffs attention they claimed to have looked at the camera but did nothing about it i was told the higher up manager would follow up with me they never did so basically there ok with thieves stealing there ! read more

Phones..phones..phones!! Too many people checking txt, emails, internet surfing, etc... like get off the phone and finish your workout dummy! Further, people put items at a station because they want to use it next or they hold it for others. It's literally unreal how mgmt allows this to continue daily. It looks like a bunch of kids come in to hang out and lock down machines to talk and giggle with their friends and look at women. People have real jobs and they come in workout and leave. No one has time for this bs. PF can't control the parking situation with all the break-ins but come on, you can do something about stations and phones. This has gotten way out of hand. read more

This particular planet fitness is so annoying. I get that it's your policy not to have any bags on the floor or hanging on the cup holder, but interrupting people while they are working out just to implement your policy is rude. I watched 3 people walk out the door, including myself over this policy. Some of us simply don't trust leaving our personal belongings in the locker room. read more

This review is based on the trainer ‍ at this location. I was very disappointed the fact that they only have one Personal trainer ‍ and they don't have a really good set up when it comes to orientation for new members. In fact the whole schedule seem to organize and kind of a scam they let you sign up for one location only which is your home location, which is not told to you when you first sign up. I am just stating the facts of what they offer so People are aware that they're not told upfront about how the Personal train works. It seems like a service they offer because they have to and don't seem like it's really genuinely there to help you as far as the working out part that's amazing and you can bring a friend, but the whole Personal trainer ‍ thing if you're looking for that would be a waste of money. read more

Just started coming to this planet fitness recently. I'd go to the Norwalk one usually and that one was getting too packed so I decided to check this one out. It is a bit of a drive but I really enjoyed the layout and machines at this location. There are two problems with this location that make me unsure if I want to keep coming back. Every time I've been here the floors are so dirty! I see staff cleaning but things still look dusty and the floors never look any better. Staff is also a bit rude. They don't acknowledge you when you go into the building or when you leave. The dealbreaker for me is the cleanliness though. I do a lot of stretching and core workouts on the floor. Of course I use a mat but even then it's gross being near the dirty floor like that. read more

Costumer service is pretty good. Except girl with blonde yellow hair and piercings. She sits upstairs in mats to chat with other females. She is unprofessional and loud meanwhile we are trying to work out. It's uncomfortable. You can hear her laugh and talk over your headphones. Unfriendly female, mean while other employees are greeting you with kindness. I recommend it, just be careful with this female. Machines are clean, bathrooms are clean. Pretty spacious gym and machines are brand new. 10/10 read more

Went today and I must say it's pretty nice...BUT...it's brand new so that's to be expected! This location is very spacious I must say. They even have an upstairs area and they have an elevator for those who have trouble with stairs. The employees are very nice and helpful. If I had to be petty and say things I didn't like...the music was hideous but that's what my AirPods are for....my biggest gripes were the hip abductors are upstairs in a weird spot facing the wall...and they don't have giant fans in the ceiling...only ac and it's not pumping like it should be specially upstairs! The upstairs area really needs better ventilation because it's super stuffy once u start moving around! I went to use the black card spa and the scanner wasn't working so the employee had to manually enter my info...they need to fix that! All n all everything is straight...nothing is perfect! read more

So far so good! I love the fact that there's so many glute machines, but only slight downfall is that these machines are on the second floor which will definitely be killer when coming down. I've been going to PF for a while now, having been going to the Bellflower location and more recently the Compton one location for a couple of years. Ended up switching to this one not only because it was newer but also because the Compton location has seriously declined in quality since it opened, with rude staff and machines (and the actual building itself) falling apart. This is easily one of the best PF locations in the area. Very spacious with a wide variety of machines. You can also expect to find some machines you wont find at other nearby PF locations such as three functional trainer machines, a hack squat machine, and even a standing calf raise machine. On top of having a wider variety of machines, there's also more of the standard machines you'll find at any PF; this location has SIX smith machines and a lot more free weights and benches to use, so you'll never have to wait for anything if you go during the slower times. If you do come while it is a bit busier, you thankfully don't need to wait too long since there's so much equipment to use. Only real complaint is I wish it was colder in there, since there are no ceiling fans to circulate air. This is also an extremely minor complaint, but the water pressure at the sinks and water fountains are too low and should be turned up a bit. Staff members are nice and are always going around cleaning from what I have noticed. Other locations such as the Compton one are lacking in that department, so I am happy to see the workers doing their jobs. They look happy as well which is nice to see. Compared to surrounding planets fitness location. This one has a second story, which makes it less cramped and enables you to have some personal space for stretching. What I did not like was the employees at the front desk. They were all attitude and couldn't care less if you are new to this gym. I have came here at all different times of the day and this place is ALWAYS CLEAN (bathrooms, floor, machines), and its that good smelling clean, not the pine/bleach smell. The staff has always greeted me on the way and out. There is always good parking. Coming here here has to be one of the best purchases I have made. read more
