This Planet Fitness location has been opened almost a year now. And there are Lots of excellent options for working out. New equipment with TV screen blue tooth options on most of the equipment. A fabulous thirty minute workout room. Lots of weights for the heavy lifters . And for folks like me lots of staff to help assist you. After two hip replacements it's always a challenge getting up and down on some of the equipment but the staff are always eager to help! The black card spa area is fantastic for a massage chair or hydro lounge massage or even tanning! Booths and beds are both available! There's trainers several days and nights if like me you need that extra push ! It's totally there if you want it ! Lots of parking and open 24 hours ... it's really a great place to get your self moving! Try it you'll find it's not as hard to work out as you'd think! Judgement free !!! This gym is pretty amazing, probably because it is so new. Over all the staff is very friendly, but they are not always great at stocking paper towels, and making sure the gym rules are being followed. The trainer there is also really helpful and very easy to talk to, I wish this location was 24/7but it seems like a lot of planet fitness have changed their hours in the week of COVID-19. The gym does get really busy, especially with the free weights. I have found it hard to get my workout complete because other people are using the equipment come and join me for a work out, but please be considerate of the equipment and the people in the gym around you, Looking forward to seeing everyone there after January 1, 2023. read more

Overall, this is a good location with nice staff. My only complaint is that the bathroom between the men's and women's locker rooms has not been cleaned in several weeks. Funky hair is clogging the drain and no paper towels. Please clean the bathroom. read more

Made an account just to make this review. I had the same experience as Rose E. with cancelling my Gym membership. I've only been going to this gym as it's near my house and I once went to a gym in Fort Mill. But I started this gym membership and I've been going there ever since. Recently I got a new job at LPL that came with a gym inside the facilities, so I didn't really need to go to Planet Fitness anymore. I called the club, but they told me I had to come personally to cancel the membership. So I went to the location on Pineville Matthew's road expecting an easy cancelation. I had done so previously way back in 2017 with no issues. When I asked to cancel my membership this time, immediately another associate joined the conversation without any prompting which I found very suspicious and they both began looking through the computer. They told me that my membership was originally started in Fort Mill and because Planet Fitness is a franchisee company with multiple locations, I was unable to cancel my gym membership. And that employee apologized, again without any prompting or any irritation on my part, which I found very strange. I've only been to one other location before and that was just with a buddy I had in Fort Mill. I told them this and the Manager came over, again without prompting by anyone else. They overheard the conversation about cancelling the membership and they just came over on their own, telling me that in order to cancel my membership I would have to either go down to a location in Fort Mill personally to cancel it or send in a written letter to that club to cancel the membership. So I went to the location in Fort Mill that they had sent me to. And they immediately told me that it was a guest membership to the club as I figured. The guys there were very nice to me though and actually called the location on Pineville Matthews to get it cancelled for me. All employees on 11/6 at that location should be commended. But yeah, this particular location on Pineville Matthews wasted about an hour of my time. And they acted so weirdly about the entire situation. Didn't smell right. I think they are intentionally providing extra trouble for anyone trying to cancel their gym membership. I would suggest that corporate get some volunteer members to check in and cancel their membership just to see what happens. read more

So, I went to this planet fitness location on this past Sunday for a tour before joining. I must say, that I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and spaced out they were in reference to this COVID-19 season we are living in. Cleaning stations as well as a lot of cleaning supplies were everywhere, lol. I don't see how this place could not stay clean. They had every other machine, treadmill, bikes, etc, out of use as to stay the recommended six feet apart. And since they have so many machines, that's not a problem. This is by far the best location I've been to for Planet Fitness. It's very clean, there is a lot of space and machines (but when it gets busy, you may have to wait on the squat rack/ leg press/ arm press...etc...) I love their elliptical which is slightly different than the ones at other Planet Fitnesses because they're they new ones that move with your natural step. They always have treadmills/elliptical open as well as rowing machines. The locker room is very clean and the showers are nice and more private because they're like actual locking shower rooms. Their weight station also is a lot bigger than other locations I have been to which gives people a lot more space. The Black Card Spa is also very nice with all the stations being very private and relaxing having both massage chairs, hydro loungers, and hydro beds as well as different tanning bed options. So far this has been a great gym! Even at peak hours on peak days, its not terribly busy. The equipment is all in great shape, the locker rooms are clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. The only knock on it so far is that if you or your guest wants to use the cardio equipment, you have to carry your card around with you. That being said, the cardio machines are great and make cardio not as terrible as it normally is. read more

This is a fantastic gym and not your average Planet Fitness. There is an unbelievable amount of cardio equipment, weights and even a CrossFit type workout station. The locker rooms are nice and clean. If you are interested in the Black Card membership, the extras are well worth it. They have many hydra massage beds, hydra massage chairs, massage chairs, tanning and red light therapy. Overall, the gym is well lit, clean and affordable. Finally, the staff is unbelievably friendly. I've never been impressed by the staff at a Planet Fitness. That changed when I started coming here. read more

I have been a member of Planet Fitness for over 4 years with no issues. The staff has always been attentive and helpful. On two different occasions over the past few months I have had issues on the treadmill trying to catch up on breathing due to the intense workout. Both times staff members surrounded me forcing me to cover my mouth and nose with the mask while I was trying to breathe. All the staff does is make rounds in the gym forcing people to cover their face while trying to breathe while exercising. I explained that I had no problem with the "Mask Mandate" when my body wasn't requiring more oxygen. I was feeling dizzy and all the staff could focus on was the mask resulting in them asking me to leave. I stopped by the desk and terminated my account due to this issue. If you are into high intensity workouts this isn't the place for you. Wearing a mask running on a cardio machine at high intensity can result in a stroke or heart attack due to you recycling carbon dioxide. The entire staff needs to be retrained in both "Common Sense" and "Gym Safety". read more

First, I don't leave reviews. Ever. Today, was my first day at this PF and I was confused about what the capabilities were of the TVs. Could they sync with my Bluetooth or do you have to plug your headphones in? Ashley walked me over to the equipment and stayed with me as I fumbled trying to get my headphones to pair. Then I needed help with a machine which she graciously helped me with as well. There are few attendants that go above and beyond and I want to recognize her for her excellent customer service. I prefer this facility over all the others and the ratings reflect my opinion. Clean, Friendly staff, reliable internet. This was a purpose built facility previously owned by another chain,not a converted grocery store.
