I don't man, planet fitness just seems culty to me. I've frequented this location a few times and it's alright. It's clean, and we'll taken care of but I just don't love planet fitness. I have a few other gyms I enjoy and this is my dads and we went for a f workout together. Everything was fine but even though it's a "judgement free zone" I always feel like I'm being watched by the staff for every little I do. Also not against the "lunk alarm" but how can you have a button calling out people who drop weights or huff when they're lifting but say you're judgement free?? I'm hello hello yeah this gym is always cold. You don't pay the employees night differential that's why I can't get anybody to stay on when I work out at night. Don't have great machines. You don't have a sauna. You have a red light therapy, which is a lot of money probably and the tanning machines were OK but a sauna is much better or something to burn a sweat. I said I have to wear three layers while on the treadmill because it's 20° inside in the morning is too crowded at rush-hour is too crowded and it's not the type of gym where it's worth to go to just to use their machines cause their machines are nothing special. The one in Medford is the best in my opinion because it's actually open all the time employees are great and they have a bigger space and different machines although this corporation will continue to raise the price and offer for less once I cancel I'm sure I won't be the only one read more

This is an amazing gym and it's stems from the top. Joy the manager along with her staff of Tori,Brian ,Michael I always feel welcome and it feels genuine. I always seen them cleaning and enforcing the mask policy. I feel safer going to this than others. I give them compliments often and hope they could get recognized for their hard work and just how they are as people. I also feel better at the RP location cause for the most part everyone I see wipes down equipment and wears masks like they are suppose to,I also go mid day so maybe that helps. My only complaint is the hot water in showers takes forever to get hot and doesn't last more than a few minutes. Joy and staff kudos to you all. You are making a difference. Thank you read more

This club is disgusting, even during a mask mandate, nobody is wearing a mask even the employees, which are also not enforcing it. The members don't wipe down machines when there done. So wear a hazmat suit here or don't go at all. read more

I just want to say that this gym is clean and has an amazing staff. Yes people dont always clean the equipment after use, people are slobs... this should have no baring on the gym. Wash the machine before you use it and you wont have to worry.. To the person complaining that you have to go into the gym to cancel.. DUHHH all gyms make you do that to make sure the person canceling is the correct person, they are NOT trying to make your life difficult, they are looking out for you. Went for a workout this morning, always a little freaked out at the number of people who don't wipe down the machines after they are done but I just wipe before I start. That said the owner was dusting the bench press machines and was standing on the bench that people lie on. I asked her about it and she said she had to get the dusting done. She left white footprints on all four benches and just went on. How can you expect Anyone to clean up after Themselves when the owners show such disrespect for their patrons? read more

I've been here only once so far as this isn't my home club, but I will absolutely be going back. Not only was the place spectacularly clean, the oversized ceiling fans were incredibly helpful in keeping my friends and I cool and comfortable while working out. There seemed to be more than enough machines for everybody to use, as well as a great variety of machines to use, much more than my home club has. The way things are positioned allows for a bit more privacy as well. I thought it was pretty cool the water fountain has a spout for water bottles, and the locker room seemed to be much cleaner and comfortable than other clubs I've been to. Wasn't thrilled the showers were directly next to the toilets, but hey, what can you do? Nice little surprise was the lockers they have OUTSIDE of the locker room. If you're coming dressed for the gym and need to store something, you don't have to even bother with the locker room. Definitely coming back! read more

So, I've only ever been to two Planet Fitnesses: this one, and the one up on Dyckman Street in Manhattan (which I also reviewed). I gotta say, the Rocky Point version is a world apart. First, they have a lot more machines (and a lot more variety in machines). All machines seem to be well-maintained and the facilities are very clean. (Can't fault Dyckman on this.) Huge huge huge huge fans. This is key! The air circulation in this place is kind of amazing. All kinds of equipment that we don't have at Dyckman (i.e. medicine balls, stability balls, etc.) Too bad this isn't my home gym. I liked it much much better. Can't really beat it for $10/mo. read more

PROS: Lots of machines, no waiting, price is unbeatable CONS: Staff doesn't do much, plus they keep it cold in there. I like a warm environment to work up a sweat. They have these ridiculous fans blowing cool air everywhere, it's not comfortable. Staff says that there is nothing that they can do. Also, other gyms I've belonged to have much more of a social element. Here, everyone is in-and-out and 'to themselves'. If that's what you're looking for, and you don't mind the cold, then go for it. Just remember, it's not a club, it's just rows of machines. read more

Planet Fitness in Rocky Point has everything I'm looking for in a gym. Clean, affordable, safe, comfortable, friendly staff, etc. I went to another gym in Coram years ago. Four times the price, sometimes not enough machines, less choices on the TV & in the summer it was 100*. I'm so very happy I decided to try PF. From what I see, it's about half men, half women. All ages- from teenagers to senior citizens. The bathrooms are large & clean. The water fountain has a dispenser for water bottles. (And if you want to buy a cold drink- not that expensive) It's just minutes from my home. Can't really ask for more. read more

nice place, there's always a cardio machine available (unlike my previous gym, where you would actually sign up for one and wait during peak hours). I don't know much about the weights but they also don't see particularly busy. There is so much equipment. The staff is friendly if you ask them questions. It is also very cheap. You can get discounts by promising to come a certain amount of months (with a hefty cancellation fee watch out) but honestly, even the non discounted $20 /month is just fine for me (the plan I have). I went to go in for my first time at rocky point, i was greeted with this nasty girl and was rolling her eyes the whole time we were speaking to her. i went to go into the locker room and she followed me in there and told me i'm not allowed to be in there. i said okay and used the restroom and she waited for me. she was super disrespectful and has the worst attitude. there was a male that entered after me and she was very cheerful and was welcoming but when it came to me she was nasty. read more

I am using the rocky point location and it cannot be better.. The Staff is very friendly and greet me by my name when I come in and say good bye when I leave. They are always smiling and helpful to give informations or book a session with their awesome trainer Chris. Chris is always available and very helpful. He jokes all the time to make you laugh so you forget the pain of the 4 sets!!!!...But he does nor forget any of them!!! The place is very clean and the planogram of the machines is excellent.All the people going there are friendly and say Hello. Manager was very rude to me, when I went in there she told me that they had failed to charge me and that I'm lucky that she didn't charge me for the last two years. Announced this publicly and made it seem like I couldn't pay my bills and annoyed me to the point where I signed up for a black card at Centereach just so her establishment wouldn't benefit from my membership, but still used the rocky point location. Ok I LVE planet fitness! For a gazillion reasons. Our local Rocky Point location is pretty good. They are clean for the most part and the staff has gotten much better over the years. They generally keep up with the minimal tasks of cleaning the tanning bed areas and bathrooms. On a National level planet fitness is awesome. I've been to so many from coast to coast all over the country. Being an avid RV traveler using the facilities for showering have been a lifesaver after hiking for miles the always hot showers are spot on. Only the New Jersey locations don't have blow dryers that I've experienced and also not so friendly. (Maybe a state thing?) but otherwise awesome company mostly franchised but overall wonderful. Loved the Burlington VT and Costa Mesa CA ones the best! 5 stars easy to planet fitness. read more

I cancelled my membership at the beginning of covid. I called to ask about a unfamiliar fee. Justin not only failed to give me an explanation but raised his voice at me and just repeated " we don't do refunds, we don't do refunds" I then talked to the manager Joy (far from joyful) who just told me I didn't cancel even though I had canceled months ago. Pretty sketchy gym to begin with. Way too many people there not social distancing, wearing masks, or cleaning down any equipment. read more

ZERO STARS, I had an issue with the Port Jefferson location due to staff. I went to cancel my membership, found out that it's $50 to cancel your TEN DOLLAR membership. So I went to my original gym to see if they could wave the fee due to what happened. I called to see if a manger was in, he wasn't. On the phone they told me tomorrow Eric ( the manger) will be in. I went in, 8am no manger. They told me to come back at ten. I came back, waited until 1120 & still NO MANAGER. There was one employee who was ACTUALLY helpful. The two young women at the counter were rude & unhelpful. They were also on their phones the ENTIRE TIME I was waiting. I will never use this gym again, worst customer service ever. What can one expect for $10 a month other than a place with machines and to hopefully not get molested in a dark corner. But Planet Fitness is so much more than that. They have over a hundred cardio machines including treadmills, ellipticals, bikes and climbers. They have dozens of nautilus-type machines and some free weights. The locker rooms are always clean. The fans could be set a little higher for better air movement. There's about twenty TVs. The only problem is you really can't watch the TVs because almost all of the boxes that you plug your headphones in are damaged and the sound is garbled, to the point of being unusable. So nobody uses them. Please get them fixed. What's the point of having TVs that you can't hear? thanks read more

Always love coming here at night Monday-Thursday when it's not as packed and I can get my workout done and not have to worry about machines being taken , the staff is super nice and I've never had an issue here . I enjoy coming here and the prices aren't bad at all . read more

I was in a really bad car accident 6 months ago, I went to planet fitness two times to speak to a manager about my situation and needed to freeze my membership. I found out that the gym unfroze my membership and started charging me again before they were supposed to. Went to the gym to speak to the staff about them keeping my membership frozen, I received an I don't give a fuck attitude from the staff. Have been going to this gym for about 2 1/2 years now. Though you may not receive some of the perks other gyms offer (for a much higher price), for the $10 a month (or $20 for the black card) price, what you receive isn't too shabby. This gym is only a few years old so the equipment isn't old or worn out and the facilities are always kept extremely clean. My only complaint is that during peak times, there are barely any machines open especially when it comes to the cardio machines so I would recommend going earlier in the day, if possible, as the evening hours are always busy. read more

As a broke grad student, I love that planet fitness is so affordable. This location is huge and has a ton of machines. Even during peak hours there are cardio machines available. Locker rooms and bathrooms are nice and clean.This particular location is always nice and cool because they blast the a/c and have the huge fan. Plenty of paper towel dispensers everywhere and some cold water fountains.Pretty decent crowd as well. The only bad thing is that you can barely hear the tv's through the headphone jack and they don't have closed captioning on. Oh well, most days i like to listen to music instead anyway :) Really can't ask for anything better when you're paying 10 bucks a month read more

Been a member for almost 3 years and go often, love the employees and the gym is always clean. Someone is always vacuuming and the equipment is always being wiped down. The locker room and bathrooms are ALWAYS clean! There is always someone who is knowledgeable about the equipment. My favorite of the several planet fitnesses I have been too! My home away from home. 3 days into my membership and I already have a complaint. Side note: I've never reviewed a gym before and am not typically one to complain even when given reason to. However, perhaps some of you can sympathize with this particular inconvenience. An hour+ into my workout, I was feeling good and motivated. I guess you could say that I had a good rhythm going and that's not always the case when you drag yourself out of bed after bartending until 4 AM the night before. Anyway, I've digressed. One of the female staff members felt it was necessary to stop me mid stair master session to tell me that they do not allow personal bags on the gym floor next to my machine and that it must be kept in a locker. I have no problem abiding by that rule that I was not previously informed of...but was it necessary to tell me mid cardio? The gym had about 15 people in it at the time so it was not as though I couldn't be approached post workout. After she went over my bag storage options and I agreed to the no bags rule, I tried to return to my workout but the machine had already reset...thus COMPLETELY screwing up my rhythm/workout and resulting in me leaving the gym far sooner than I had intended. The gym is clean, and there are lots of machines. Joined for the 30 minute circuit (have treadmill and elliptical at home). Members keep cutting in on the 30 minute circuit (to do more than one set of reps), making it hard to complete the circuit without waiting around. Complaints made to staff, who just shrug their shoulders. read more
