I know it's the cheapest out there, but this Planet Fitness is terrible. Spend a little extra and go somewhere else. Been going for years. I've even paid the fees for months when I wasn't going at all. But, the one time I forgot my phone, they couldn't verify me even though they had my picture on file. Enforce your no cell phone during working out. My entire hour on the treadmill I had two full phone conversations going on next to me. I couldn't get my music loud enough to drown it out. Really sucks. read more

Front desk and all the employees seemed to hate being there, most are not very friendly or welcoming and if u go into the men's bathroom it's dirty and it always smells like urine. U rarely see any of the employees cleaning anything they are all up at front desk talking and playing on phones. Trust me a gym can always be cleaned numerous times a day so if they are bored that's their fault or the boss hasn't given them any direction Maybe it's because I'm a different race is why they are not friendly. read more

I still like this gym--mostly because it's less than a mile from my house, only $10/mo, and it's rarely crowded--but they need to work on their "cleaning skills". About a year ago, a new GM came on board and the place, unfortunately, is no longer spotless. The bathrooms 'look' clean but they smell unclean, as if they're only cleaning visible surfaces and using ultra-diluted cleaner products. Also, the machines are always dirty; not filthy, but you can see streaks everywhere. This gym seems to rely on members to wipe down their machines--which most do--but I've yet to see a staff member clean the machines. And, the cleaner provided for users seems to be 99 parts water, 1 part (or drop!!) of bleach. So, I've started bringing my own wipes for my own peace of mind. If the staff cleaned like they were supposed to, my review would still be a 5-star review. RESPONSE TO MANAGEMENT (8/23): Leslie, if your club really cared about cleanliness they'd actually...CLEAN, instead of talking to eachother and/or playing on their phones. Also, I'm not going to help people do their job. Why should we as customers have to continue to point out what's dirty? The gym is small--if they walked around and checked--aka WORKED--it wouldn't be an issue. Let's get it together PF! UPDATE (8/24): Less than 24 hrs after posting a picture of the dirty treadmills, when I got to the gym this morning, all of the "sweats spots" on all of the treadmills were cleaned. Good job, PF! I joined this Planet Fitness after relocating to GA. My first workout, I found the parking lot littered, so much so it looked as if beer parties were held in the parking lot, and empties scattered around. When I pulled out, the crunching under my tires caused me to stop and get out. Under my tires were broken glass. I visited other PFs, although farther away. All the other parking lots were maintained well. I had to go to the post office a few weeks later, so gave this one another chance. Again, beer bottles strewn all over, trash thrown into bushes. The curbs have never been cleaned up. I was immediately sent a questionnaire following the visit. I explained all of that in the survey. The next day, a female employee called to ask if she could help me. I asked if she'd taken the time to read my specific complaint. She wiggled around it by saying she might have read part of it. I told her once more my experience. She told me in no uncertain terms was their staff responsible for the parking lot, the landlord was. She wanted me to up my score of 6/10 and that was why she called. After arguing with me, (from a script, no emotional intelligence in how she addressed me) I hung up. I was in management for two decades. Our rule of thumb was always, if you see something you can fix, fix it. If not, let maintenance know. We all took responsibility for picking up any litter around our properties. Yes, it was our janitor's job, but we had one thing that seems to be missing here at this Rockbridge location -- pride of ownership. Employees who have a sense of ownership where they work, take pride in it. Instead, employees here are often on the phone. The day I signed up, it took 10 minutes of waiting for an employee to get off the phone and register me. When I wanted to sign up for classes, he told me they don't offer them. "People here already know how to work out, so we don't have classes." I witnessed him sitting down, not greeting customers, and when his boss came in, he jumped to his feet, pretending to be present. Here's a tip for that employee: Get off your seat. Get on your feet. Stick out your hand to meet and greet that customer who is paying for you to be present. BE PRESENT! BE OBSERVANT! BE RESPONSIBLE! And for god's sake, take 5 minutes to pick up your parking lot. It feels unsafe here. read more

I am a Planet Fitness Black Club member and I have been to a few different Planet Fitness gyms. Mind you, I have only been in the mornings but I've been meaning to try in the afternoons, evenings and late nights just to see what the difference is. So based on the previous statement, I didn't think I would like this Stone Mountain location because I hated the one on Memorial Drive, but this one is really nice. So nice, in fact, that I had decided to frequent there. (Not sure if I said that right, but I'm going with it!) The employees are friendly, the customers are friendly, there's plenty of parking, I haven't seen it overly crowded, the bathrooms are clean... the entire gym seems to be clean! The only thing I don't like is that there is a gun range RIGHT next door. That bothers me so much that I don't go there if my boyfriend isn't with me. Matter of fact, if he didn't like that location so much, I would have stopped going there altogether. I hate to be like that, but I don't like hearing gunshots all the time. (You don't hear them when you're inside the gym... just when you're coming in and out.) Sorry to offend any gun enthusiasts out there, but like I always say: these are just my opinions. read more

Too many employees worried about their phone and when you try to get help at the desk, some act like it's an inconvenience for you to use the service. I witnessed a member or perhaps potential member told to come back tomorrow 15 mins before close... Unprofessional response from GM. I'm an area operations consultant and hold a doctoral in human services, and the energy and behavior of the GM is unacceptable. He would not work for me. More worried about being on his headset and phone than taking care of the guest along with the men's locker room on many occasions unkept and needs major attention. If you're too afraid to scrub toilets, clean showers, and keep the place clean, then you need to be working elsewhere especially when a request for area to be cleaned and afterwards they half do it. Performance would be an issue and again, the employees would not like it if I was their leader because I do the hard jobs and expect others to do so. Better behavior, sense of urgency and improved customer service is expected when members pay you to be nice, appreciate, and pay attention to why they are there. Cell phone use for pleasure is stealing from Planet Fitness and my money. read more

Planet Fitness often catches a bad rap for not being a "real" gym. Well, after 40 years of not working out and wanting to get a little more healthy this place works great for me. I recently joined this gym, it's been about a month now. I thoroughly enjoy it and am glad that I joined. First off I'll say, it's very clean! The staff cleans up very often which I find pretty refreshing. The equipment is in great shape, bathrooms/locker room is always clean as well. I enjoy all of the perks such as the hydro massage bed, tanning beds, reebok discounts etc. However, I hear they have pizza and bagel days which I find cool and comical at the same time lol. As a woman, I worry that men will try to hit on me in the gyms but so far they haven't which is great! I workout in total peace. Loving this gym! read more

This is one of the best gyms I have ever gone to. I usually don't like going to gyms and workout at home. All the amenities an the laid back atmosphere attracted me to this particular gym. Plus its so conveniently located. This place gets full but even when its full, its not uncomfortably full. The staff there is also friendly and always seem to be doing something to keep the place clean. I love the hydrotherapy beds!! Those are my favorite after the workout equipment. They have every piece of equipment imaginable. You will have a full body workout if your go through the whole gym. There is always an elliptical, treadmill, or stepper available. Its also a perk that they are open 24 hours for those days when you get really busy. One suggestion coming form a single mother, you need a small childcare. I would be there everyday if I had someone to watch my 3 year old. You don't need anything fancy. Just a tv, books, some toys and the kids would be happy to wait for their parents for 30-60 minutes. Something to think about. All in all, I love this place and will be there every week! read more

Nice staff and clean facility with great hours. The price is just the icing on the top. I have only had one issue with them when they billed the wrong account after I had them update it and received confirmation that it was supposedly done properly. That really wasn't the issue that pissed me off, but the fact that they refused to own up to the issue and remove the $10 fee was pretty annoying. You only get one coin for the massage chair which is unlimited for a black card member. I'd understand if busy but when no one is around.....? No towels around to wipe massage equipment. No hair drys in men's restroom. This place just lacks some small touches . Also a member at LA fitness and been to many other planet locations so. I guess I'm expecting too much ? read more

Management is not friendly. Decides when and where they will enforce their 'policies' and with no notice cancel your membership. I've been working out at this gym since it opened two years ago. During the first month my personal belonging were stolen from the locker room. Of coarse management said in a nut shell, sorry but there's nothing we can do. Ever since I have kept my stuff with me in my workout bag. I wasn't willing to keep my stuff in my car as I know someone that had their car broken into in the same parking lot. A week ago a new not friendly, staff member informed me it was against their so called policy to have my bag with me sitting on a broken machine. I asked to have the manager call me when they came in Monday. I never got a phone call but received a cancel notice via email saying they were cancelling my membership. They allowed me to keep a bag with me for over 2 years and suddenly it's not ok. Seems like they enforce their 'policies' only when it's convenient for them. They never had any issue with me paying my bill, with any member, or staff member but just cancel you because you have your personal belongings in a small bag. After working out in various gyms over 25 years this is the first I've ever heard of a gym not allowing a bag. I called the manager who was very short and not very customer service oriented. Corporate is my next phone call along with all my neighbors that also spend money here. Sadly disappointed in my experience. read more

This review is more about the sales associate than the gym. I stopped by for a tour and to receive information and Myles helped me. He was very professional and an excellent sales person. He was knowledgeable about Planet Fitness and did not pressure me to join. The locker room is very clean and the massage bed that is available for black card members is excellent. I like Yoga and Zumba classes and this is not offered here. I am still deciding and Myles is who you should see if you want to learn more about Planet Fitness. read more

When I first joined the gym, I was getting judged and slapped on the back of my head...but then a worker named "Tyler" came and protected me from the lunks and introduced me to his miracle worker....thee Stair Master . A couple of weeks ago I came in to the planet fitness on Rockbridge and Stone Mountain to update my billing spoke with the The General manager Bianca supposedly she change my billing an updated everything supposedly my daughter and myself have an account there but both accounts are billed to my bank account inreceived a text message that something was wrong with my billing I called up there 10/11 @ 1815 and I spoke to Andrew who says he's assistant manager and I spoke to Brianna who says she's a general manager apparently when I came up there two weeks ago to update the billing  the daytime manager did not set up the account the right way so planet fitness were pulling payments from my Old account the payment cleared and then try to pull from my new account also which are blocked because they had already received a payment this has caused such an inconvenience to me I have been at the center over a year and the customer service that I received from the manager and assistant manager was almost accusatory That I truly did these charges through in NSF My concern is how come they can't see that a payment has been deducted from my account on September 17 and cleared my account but they send me notices saying The account is not paid for September I am going up there tomorrow to cancel both accounts my daughters and myself  and I will go to  la Fitness where it's less stressful The company that I work with I can get a 20% percent discount with LA fitness but I came to planet fitness because of wonderful customer service I received at the time of signing up through juan Davis But tomorrow morning I will be up at the gym to cancel both accounts this mixup with setting up accounts via your manager has caused inconvenience to meThis is something that should've never happened if I bring you my information to update my billing I expect for it to be done I do expect for them to bill from two separate accounts when they have been billing from one account since I was a member ..... have the money to clear and then going into the new account to try to collect again how did this happened I don't know but I'm a very unsatisfied with the way everything is being handled the general manage basically said it's my fault she stated when I came up there to update the billing I should have told them I had two accounts how would I known she didn't know I had two accounts they are being billed to the same bank account and the payment comes out at the same time.... this is something they should be able to see in their system ... again I will be canceling the membership I can. I got a membership because of the low price, but was completely disregarded as a paying customer! I was drying off from showering in the locker room when I heard a man's voice-I looked up and there was a MAN that just waltzed INTO THE WOMEN'S SHOWER AREA!! I screamed and told the front desk staff. Their response was "He said he didn't mean to and was trying to use the men's toilet". The staff acted like that was ok and didn't reprimand the man at all! (There was no way it was a mistake--the women's room is pink, and when you 1st walk in, the bathroom stalls are the 1st things you see, then you proceed to the lockers and LASTLY, the showers, which are around the corner... Yet he magically missed it and made is way to the showers knowing I was in there). I called the owner of the gym, emailed and wrote the corporate office detailing all of this, but his membership was not cancelled and none of the employees or owners seemed to care about the fact that the environment was made unsafe by a predator trying to potentially assault their female client. I didn't expect any of this to happen. I don't complain about small stuff, but this was significant enough for me to cancel my membership-I will never go back there again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone!!! read more
