We were pretty pleased with this location. We were staying nearby working on some RV issues and this gym was pretty close. It's clean, the front desk staff were very friendly, we did not experience any machines that weren't working etc. This is a busier gym than we've seen in other locations, especially on the weekend, but during the week wasn't too bad. I was only able to take a picture of the stretching/abs room as it was just too busy! The first day we were there; the covers were missing from some of the paper towel machines, but this was rectified by the second visit. 'Most' people wiped down machines after using, but not all, so just take an extra along with you as you move between machines. The smith machines are super popular on the weekends so husband was a little frustrated- our schedule is flexible so we would adjust to weekdays only. Saturday was the only day we couldn't get thru our routines. Plenty of parking out front, lockers all working and they had a nice black card area. Huge plus is the massive size of the stretching and Abs area- PLENTY of room for mats and this is unlike any other club we've seen. Well done. read more

I visited Planet Fitness in Surprise Az the morning of 12/28/25 wanting to sign up for the basic membership special rate which expires 12/31/25. I was told I have to register on line, they were unable to register me at the location. I also DO NOT like putting a lot of apps on my phone and asked if there is another way other than having the app. I was told you have to use the app. (BTW what do people do if they don't have a cell phone?). I tried to load the app on my phone but had two Planet Fitness apps on Play Store to select from. One was Australia and the other was Spain. I tried over and over again and finally called the PF Surprise location. I was told the PF app should be the first one but the first app was the Spain app. They said they never heard of the Spain and Australia App being on Play Store. I checked my husband's phone and it had the same two apps for Spain and Australia. Not sure who manages the apps and who to reach out to. I was also advised I could provide my phone number when checking in rather than have the app loaded on my phone but earlier that morning was advised I had to use the app. I do not want to enroll and fill out the membership form with my bank and credit card info if I am unable to rectify the app situation. This gym has 30 TVs, yet none are tuned to the news. When I asked why, I was told that a few people tend to argue about politics when the news is on. Rather than addressing the issue with those individuals, the gym has chosen to impose a collective punishment, penalizing everyone for the actions of a few. It's interesting, considering we are all paying customers. Collective punishment, a practice that originated in pre-modern societies, is still sometimes employed in military boot camps and prisons, but it hardly seems appropriate here. read more

I have been going to this gym for a few years now. After working as an essential working during the COVID pandemic it worsened my heart that I now need a service dog. I would bring him with me (because I have to) and I would get dirty remarks from patrons and staff. Complaining about my well behaved medical alert service dog. They have recently just been closing whenever they want. Not sticking to assigned hours. My heart condition got worse, and with the constant bullying at this location I stopped going. This is no longer the friendly place it used to be. It makes me uncomfortable to visit, and each time I went I got the same treatment. I'm going in to cancel my membership ASAP. Especially since I get charged for random things now multiple times a month. No thanks. If you're disabled and require some sort of medical equipment I would highly recommend going somewhere else. I had a great experience until I tried to cancel my membership... I tried to cancel on January 30 via email, but then I got charged another month, and another $49.98 today. When I called back in January, the dude on the phone said everything was contract, so I had to cancel in person or over email and couldn't do it online or over the phone, and since I moved to a different state, I opted for email. But then I call in again today after the charge, and the email has just *poof* vanished and now I'm told that I'm able to cancel online? I've had a great time until this past experience... but it would be nice if I could get the $75 back because of the misinformation from an employee. read more

I joined a few months ago because I needed an affordable gym to get my weight loss going and I decided on planet fitness since it is close and decently priced. The gym is moderate sized and has plenty of cardio gyms and a good amount of weights. Everything is kept very clean including the bathrooms and it's nice that they offer towels and sanitizer since gyms can get nasty. I only took off one star because the cardio machines are a bit outdated, specifically the treadmills as they have limited options so I cannot run intervals easily. Overall a good gym though! read more

I loved the gym it was nice peaceful! until i went for the tanning beds, i was asking the girl questions wondering if there was only one setting for them she said yes and i said is it the medium bronzing ? and she said i think so then she said yes. I tanned the normal amount i do with the medium. I'm burnt and my skin hurts. The bed was blowing hot air not sure if that's normal I was in bed 5. Other locations blow cold so i wasn't sure. eyewear was not given i had to ask. read more

Update to Business Response: You are actually requiring more than if I were to pay with a check (which I don't do), you're storing my bank account information in your system on an ongoing basis. Also, no one else I do business with requires a payment method plus a backup payment method. Planet fitness is the closest and most affordable gym to me. I was excited to sign up until I found out that I can't without connecting my membership to my bank account. No monthly billing to a credit card allowed. Oh, and they also want a credit card in addition to the bank account for the "initial sign up". Sorry, but I don't connect anything to my bank account. There are far too many data breaches and information leaks happening for that to be safe. Offer a credit card option and I'm there but otherwise I'm signing up with another gym further away that costs more per month but doesn't require my banking information. read more

I am a new Planet Fitness member and I am already loving my experience. I've been a member at another gym for 25 years and will be cancelling that membership this month because I expect to have a great experience on my health journey with PF. Also, I have to travel over 25 minutes where my PF is less than five miles away. I am impressed with the facility. Loving the many machines. The restrooms are nice, new and provide private changing areas for when you shower. We're a Black Card member so the perks that come with it are great. I already tried the hydro massage bed. I see myself achieving and maintaining my weight loss goals here this year. The fitness training class schedule is also convenient to any schedule. With any environment where people are involved there may be stressful moments; however, from sign-up to the other interactions I've had with several staff members, I can tell they are about providing great customer services. I've decided to give Planet another try and am pleased to say my recent experiences have been so much better than the first impression. After a couple trips I decided to get myself a membership. The black card is the best option with a great deal. I love the massage beds/chairs on super stressful days and especially the option to bring a guest. While it's nice to workout alone sometimes; it's so much easier for me to get a better workout with a partner so you're a bit more distracted from the thought of exercise lol. The app is great and allows me to see how crowded the gym is before I even get there, allows me to earn points towards things and even offers workout ideas. The girls that work the counters are so much better than the spur puss grouch I met my first time. They are always smiling, attentive and friendly. Easy to approach and always helpful. Glad I gave it another shot. read more

New "GM" is very unprofessional, loud and rude. Never had a problem with the staff before until they hired this guy. I've been paying $20+ a month for almost 2 years now keep in mind with friends / family referred. He's trying to enforce new policies and claims that these said policies are "Clearly stated in your contract" (That I signed Jan of 2021) ridiculous "new polices that have to be followed" so I asked to see in my contract where it states these policies I have to follow in order to enter the establishment. You guessed it they wouldn't provide me with any of the information from the contract I signed with them and canceled my membership, oh that was after the fact they decided to have me trespassed for wanting information I guess?? I absolutely loved Planet fitness when they first opened. However things changed as time went on. When a machine is down it could take them a week to have it fixed. Also if your going to offer a personal trainer have more than one because if you have to wait weeks to get an appointment what's the use? My biggest issue was after Covid-19 they didn't resume back to 24 hours. I waited and talked with staff and after a few months realized it's not happening any time soon. THE STAFF: Two things. The front desk staff is not very pleasant. They don't ever acknowledge you in a human like manner, they just scan you in while not even looking up at you or stopping their gossip like conversation with one another. They come off very 'judge mental' Secondly, and the main reason I'm writing this, one of their very one new-ish staff members works out there and wears the most revealing clothes. Thursday, 9/29, her butt was hanging out of her spandex like shorts and you could literally see her entire vulva. Also while literally only wearing a tube top to cover just her nipples. I'm all about wearing what you feel comfortable & confident in, but there has to be a line. A line of self respect and especially when you're at the facility that you work at and represent. Was kicked out of planet fitness due to my health condition. I was approached by a staff member about my mask 5 min into my workout I told her about my asthma which I don't even have to tell her what it is... she then comes back 30 min later and now it's a problem and I'm asked to leave or put on the mask clearly illegal. I then canceled my membership with the woman telling her manager that with a condescending voice I want to cancel. The manager proceeds to tel me " after this mask thing is over come back I'll help you out" .... so you want my business when my asthma is convince for your company.... will gladly go to EOS down the street with way better facilities and amenities stay away from this fear mongering gym my lawyer will be contacting you I hope it was worth it ... I've been going here for 3 months now and overall I've been pretty happy. Im going to break it down in terms pf pros and cons. Pros: This gym is very clean. Every time im there is see someone cleaning. They regularly wipe down the machines, they keep the floors clean, bathrooms and locker rooms always clean. Also, cleaner and paper towels are everywhere to make it convenient for people to wipe down machines after each use. This gym is very close to home for me, so very conveniently located. The machines are easy to use. No "gymtimidation" meaning it's welcoming to everyone. I don't see lots of people there to strut their stuff and show off, just normal people wanting to add some exercise im their life. The staff is friendly. I love the hydromassage bed which I use as my reward for a well done workout. Great motivator! I love the circuit. It's a great workout and only lasts 30 minutes so it's easy to fit in my schedule. Cons: No classes. I wish they had zumba, yoga or some type of fun class to help me mix things up and keep it interesting! No pool. I would love to be able to swim some laps. Sometimes people come into the circuit area and use machines but they aren't doing the circuit. Then I have to skip past them and it screws things up. This can be frustrating. I wish there were more prominent signs telling people that those machines are for circuit use only. Overall, a solid gym. I will be looking into EoS though since they offer classes and a pool. read more

I've been a member of PF Surprise for a number of years but it keeps going downhill!! The trash containers had covers with a table on it for the roll of paper towels and the bottles of sanitizers. Now the cover tables are gone and you look right into the trash. When they removed the covers they installed pull down paper towel holders with sanitizer bottles on either side. Unfortunately, many times one side or the other of the paper holders are empty and one of the bottles are empty. I was told about six weeks ago that trash covers were on onder but now I found out the tops will not be replaced so we will continue to look into mostly full paper towel trash containers especially since they are rarely emptied. Also of the three soap dispensers in the Men's Room, one is usually empty and sometimes two. With these disappointments, it's like PF doesn't care about their members any longer so I will be joining EOS up on Bell. read more

Wasn't honestly sure about this place but so glad I tried it out. For $22/mo your getting full access to the gym, trainers, classes, hydro massage beds (lay down & recline), deep tissue massage chairs, tanning beds and red light therapy. The massage bed alone makes it worth $22/mo! Was skeptical because this is proclaimed to be the gym for people who don't work out. It's not like that. If your the excessive type that throws weights around, loud and obnoxious.. probably not your place. There's plenty of great equipment here and space! Strongly recommend trying it out. Take it from someone who's been doing crossfit ($100/mo), other gym ($44/mo) and deep tissue massages ($60/mo).... Tip: wipe the equipment before and after use... it's not difficult and there's cleaning supplies every 20 feat! read more

This facility is very clean, awesome equipment, and friendly staff. The message chairs are great. I also love the quick rotation work out area it's cool. I entered a drawing there and got the big bad ol membership with all the trimmings. Only complaint would be the personal trainer was pretty non-existent and a person like me really looked forward to the help and motivation and I never met em. That's only reason I cancelled. I actually really like this gym until I came into contact with an employee named BRANDON. Very rude. Everyday. I've been going to this gym for over a year and have been paying for the black card membership as well, and I have never dealt with a rude employee until recently. I complained to the GM "DEAN" who couldn't even look me in the eye( but has no problem staring at me working out everyday at the gym) and kept asking me over and over what Brandon did to be rude to me. Very unprofessional. I've worked in customer service for 15 years and this was by far the worst I've been treated. Please planet fitness get it together. Get rid of the bad seeds. Good overall gym, has what you need if you're simply trying to get in shape, get a workout in, be healthy. Not good for the "lunks" who are trying to bulk up and need the massive dumbbells, because they don't have those. Lots of cardio equipment and clean equipment. My only complaint would be the employees. While I am constantly greeted by other gym-goers with smiles and hellos, it seems as if the front desk staff do not enjoy their job. Sometimes a smile or a genuine good morning from the staff helps you feel more comfortable at a gym that strives to be a judgement free zone. Or am i judging too harshly? I love this gym. I've been a member for a year and a half. I was nervous to come back to the gym, after closing due to Covid. When I walked in the door a familiar face (Alan) at the front desk, took all the anxiety away. I remembered how much I love this place and how welcomed I always feel. If I could give this review no stars, I would. I started my member ship in 2020. July of 2021 I found out I was pregnant. I had this membership only really for the tanning and massage beds so as soon as I found out I was pregnant, I requested to cancel my member ship. I went into location 2 times requesting to cancel as they told me I should when I started. both times I was told I needed to cancel with online. I went to the website under the contact us tab several times sending emails and never heard back. Also called several times and tried once going to a new location for help but they couldn't. 2 years later and they finally canceled but refuse to give my money back from the month after I last used it because I can't "prove" I've tried to cancel and was also told it wasn't in their "budget" to refund me back that far. I decided to make a google review. Got a respond back from the owner asking I email them, I did and didnt get a response. This gyms a joke. Now I'm out $600 after trying to handle this in several ways getting the run around and I wouldnt recommend this gym to anyone.. read more

I have gone from 5 stars to only 3 and after today's experience maybe it should be 2 stars. I know that experiences are overall so I will be fare and honest. The biggest problem I have is their inconsistency to keep the ladies showers and bathroom facilities nice and clean. They are the most inconsistent in this area and no matter how many time customers complain they fail to do anything about it. There has been poop in one of the stalls for over a week. I showed it to the leader that is on shift she assured me she was going to get right on it. 3 hours later the poop is still there. I wish I could meet the people that franchise this facility because they have dropped the ball since their beginnings last July. Seems like staff would have assigned clean up throughout the day instead they think keeping the front clean is enough well it's not all of the facility needs to be key clean 24/7. read more

Gym manager, Jasmine Medina (Surprise location near Reems) works banker hours M-F. Seemingly, she does not possess the necessary common courtesy skill set it requires to be a true leader. Her less than stellar employees look haggard. The poor guy behind the counter was going through the motions. It didn't appear to me that this was the first complaint he had heard about Jasmine's lack of follow up. I took a chance in walking in with the hopes of speaking to Jasmine in person on a Sunday *gasp*. The gym was a ghost town as it often was when I was a member.
