Amazing First Session with Austin at Planet Fitness! I just had my first training session with Austin at Planet Fitness, and it was honestly fantastic! As someone who has been away from strength training for awhile, Iwas a little nervous going in--but Austin made the experience smooth, comfortable, and even fun. He was incredibly attentive throughout the entire session, patiently guiding me through each exercise and making sure my form was on point. What I appreciated most was how supportive and encouraging he was--he never made me feel out of place or overwhelmed. Instead, he focused on building confidence and helping me understand how to do things the right way from day one. ‍ My experience is and always has been great working with their trainer named Austin. He's been very persistent and patient during my training. I've lost over 70 pounds attending his workout classes. Not only is he professional but he makes you feel included and like a real part of the PF family. I can appreciate the knowledge and the education that he gives us on our journey. I love the fact that he takes his time with you and doesn't make you feel as though you're counted out or what you're asking is dumb. I used to be shy to walk into Planet Fitness and I would hold my head down, but he looked at me and told me to keep my head up. Yes he works with you on your physical as well as self esteem. Should call it Phone and Fitness. Many members are looking at their phones while sitting on equipment.

When I work out I use safety equipment so I do not hurt my back or knees or elbows. Was told by a mask wearing staff member (even though COVID was several years ago) I couldn't have my bag on the floor. I proceeded to explain it's for my safety but to no avail. I guess if my back or knees get hurt it will be time to sue planet fitness for not allowing my safety equipment on the floor. read more

This place smells like dirty gym socks. Overcrowded! Feels like more of a club than a gym. Limited weight almost impossible to grow for size. Dumbbells only go up to 75 pounds. Feels like the DMV waiting for machines to open up. read more

Austin's classes are always challenging and fun. The workouts are always well planned and thought out. Great instructor.

The staff are always nice & helpful. The gym is always clean. Staff are always cleaning.

The bag issue!!!! I could write my thesis on this. New rule not found in most other gyms, no bags on the gym floor, now at all of the PF the owner franchises from PF. Staff said it comes from the GM who worked in Visalia. PF. This is terrible, not sure if the owner works out, appears that most of the workers and GM don't very much. If they did, they would have a better understanding of the reason for a bag. Not just to have your keys handy but to have the tools you need for different exercises with you,to include taking them in/out of your bag, towel, gloves,straps, back support belt, water/BCAA/protein jug, etc., the list goes on to include medical needs. There are hooks on the machines for bags etc., only small water bottles are allowed, told we cant have a large water bottle but they couldn't give me a dimension or ounce size. I learned something in law school, everyone wants to sue the person with deep pockets, so I was told its a trip hazard by PF staff, and of course people steal equipment (unfortunate cost of doing business). Now that we cannot use bags during workouts or have them on our back(?????), the floor is littered with cells, keys, sweatshirts, again the list is long. My family will be terminating our black card membership after our contract is up and going back to Evolutions, as are some of the other people I spoke with. If you want to keep people, listen to them. Get rid of the bag rule and when staff see a bag on the floor tell the customer (who should be #1) to make sure its out of the walkway so nobody trips on it etc. Lets use common sense here, you have gone overboard. You wont get referrals for new members and may struggle. read more

I live in Fresno , but was down yesterday in Tulare with family. Soon as I walked it smelled like straight boo boo. Id rather smell sweat than boo boo. I was being very observant, no one i mean no one was wiping down equipment after using it. It was so strange to me in Fresno, we are constantly wiping down equipment after using it. Fresno gyms are clean & dont have a bad odor like this tulare gym. read more

I never realized how unhappy I was until I went to a new gym. I can't stand the staff they are extremely unprofessional the customers are lazy and always in the way takes for ever to get a workout done. the tanning bed are junk the massage beds, stink, horrible odor comes from them. then you a yearly fee on top of your membership yet equipment does not get replaced and don't even get me started on the membership for high school kids in the summer time. it's a good gym to start at fur fat people. read more

If you are wanting to start a fitness program I highly recommend Planet Fitness. The best part about it is the trainer Austin who is very savvy with designing a program for you and he is there every day to help you get started with proper form and encouragement. Glad I joined this gym and can't wait to start seeing the results of my efforts. read more

This gym is ridiculous.. one day you can have your bag on your back the next you can't have it at all. My son was approached by an employee about his bag that was on his back .. we let her know that days ago they said it was ok to hold now you can't and I asked where the new policy sign was at? There is no sign because they just came up with that. Seems like they're just walking around patrolling its members .. how can each planet fitness gym have different policies!? So now there's sweaters and water bottles and belts all over the floors because we can't carry our bags. read more

Planet Fitness in Tulare just opened in November 2019. It is located next to Dennys. It is huge and clean. It has Matrix brand equipment instead of Life Fitness. I prefer Life Fitness treadmills because they absorb shock, but Matrix is good too. Memberships start at $10 per month plus sign up fee and annual fees. I added photos read more

My little brother and I were visiting from out of town and needed a gym to workout at. Every other gym around was either closed or didn't allow daily passes. The staff here were super friendly and we were signed up and working out within 5 minutes of walking within the doors. It was a super clean and friendly environment to work out in. Many times the gym is dirty, there was a water bottle there for weeks didn't even bother to throw it and stayed in the same position, all the workers just get in a crowd and talk all day. Every time I'm going to use a machine it's always broken or it doesn't seem to working good, definitely need older people to run the gym. read more

Great gym! Better staff and most importantly Clean.. For the price WORTH EVERY PENNY.

I mean... this place looks big on the outside, but they're all cardio. They have a few weight machines, very few free weights and no benches. Definitely not for people who actually want to get in shape. Your bags aren't allowed on the gym floor, which is fine. Also they dress code you. You can't workout in a tank top. Too many rules that don't make sense. read more

Overall the planet fitness experience was okay, but the staff was rude they kicked us out twice.

So happy they finally decided to open one here in Tulare, I would drive all the way to Visalia before since I have a crazy schedule. a bit better than Visalia but for the most part the same. Very clean. read more
