Yummy is good, but WiFi makes it better.
    Steven R.

This is the almost perfect place to stop and get a treat before heading out to the coast on Highway 128. Good coffee, tasty food items, friendly atmosphere. But today one thing was not as it used to be. They no longer have WiFi. Well, some of us do use it when on a road trip. So it's not what it used to be, and frankly I always went as much for the WiFi as for the coffee. So unfortunately it's bye-bye to Plank for me.

Friendly local coffee and more! So many delicious choices! The pastries are amazing and fresh. Helpful kind and patient staff. Perfect Cinnamon latte! Yummy orange cake and egg croissant added avocado for delicious perfection! Great place!

We stopped here on a Friday morning driving north to Fort Bragg. Sadly, nearly all the food is pre-packaged at a different location (salads 'n stuff). My bagel with cream cheese & raspberry jam was disappointing & i only ate half but my coffee was okay. There is lots of outdoor seating & the place is clean but if you're looking for food maybe try another place.

I love grabbing breakfast here but seating can be limited. There are picnic tables around the corner if no spots are available. They are accommodating to both vegans and vegetarians so everyone is bound to find something to enjoy . Friendly staff and an extensive, I mean extensive!! Selection of delicious teas.

    Sooo good, fresh, tasty

Beautiful pastries. And a huge variety of things to eat/ drink. Friendly servers- and this place makes me smile. It's a light rainy day, a Friday , heading home, glad to find this coffee shop. Parking is easy.

BANG. The best coffee place in town hands down. Frankly some of the best pastries you can get - I am not a scone guy and their cherry brown sugar scone is dangerous. Open every day at 7, They close at 2. We went there every day we were in Cloverdale before hitting the wineries. Highly Recommend.

I was visiting from out of state with hopes of enjoying coffee in a very warm inviting atmosphere. I really enjoyed the coffee and their food selections. The service was quick and I was served with a smile, however, I am giving this place a 2 star review because of a book that was available for children to read in the seating area! The book was titled " How to raise your children so they do not grow up to be like Donald Trump!". To have a book like this to read in a public establishment where customers with a variety of views come to enjoy good coffee, is not all-inclusive. It excludes and creates an uncomfortable environment for those who may disagree with this mindset. I feel it is important that all types of people to feel respected and comfortable in a warm coffee shop. We can't get along if we have polarizing things like this to read where we like to enjoy a nice pastry or hot coffee.

The manager (I think) greeted and seated us. He was clearly bought into the place and excited about what they were doing. We were seated at a table near the center of the restaurant. Our server was very pleasant and kind. He seemed **fairly** knowledgeable about the menu. My wife asked about some of the coctails and he did not know, but the bartender was **exceptional.** She had two coctails and the bartender worked with her to tweek them just a little, to her taste, which she really appreciated. He even came to our table to take her second drink order. We got the three tip with veggie appetizer, which was good and a burger and pizza, both of which were exceptional. We ordered the corn ice cream. My wife asked if it was salted. The waiter said it wasn't and it was, but he did not charge us. We also had the tres leches cake, which was quite nice. They had two beers on tap, A Pilsner by Russian River and an IPA by someone else (I do not recall who). Neither struck my fancy, but I had a very nice hazy IPA in a can. We paid about $150 with tip and tax for an appetizer, two mains, two coctails and a beer. The next morning, I asked my wife how soon we could go back.

We wish a Little Saint would be opened in San Diego so we could enjoy their food year round!

Jyun Kang Vegetarian - A Meal That Quietly Resets You…read more Some meals speak in flavor. This one speaks in quiet. Jyun Kang is not modern plant-based cuisine. It isn't creative, trendy, or reinvented. This is the kind of vegetarian cooking that comes from older traditions - simple, steady, and designed to calm you more than impress you. And maybe that's why the dining room is always full. White, Black, Indian, Asian - everyone sits at the same wooden tables, eating the same humble dishes with an ease that feels rare these days. The Food: Old-School, Temple-Style, and Intentionally Quiet Nothing here tries to stand out. The dishes are: * lightly seasoned * clean and balanced * tofu, vegetables, and wheat gluten prepared the way temple kitchens have done for decades * no heavy oil, no aggressive spices, no sharp flavors It's not meant to overwhelm you. It's meant to lower the noise inside you. In a strange way, the quietness is the flavor. This is the type of meal where your nervous system shifts down a gear without you realizing it. The Atmosphere: A Dining Room Wrapped in Calm Steps away from the main courtyard of the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas, the restaurant feels like an extension of the grounds themselves. Light streams in softly. People speak gently. Even the clinking of dishes feels slower, more deliberate. Eating here isn't just eating - it's entering a different pace of life. A White Peacock After Lunch After the meal, a white peacock walked across the courtyard - unhurried, soft-footed, almost unreal in how quietly it moved. White peacocks are often considered auspicious, but even without any symbolism, the moment felt grounding - a small, unexpected pause that matched the tone of the meal. Not many restaurants offer you that. The Walk Afterward Part of the experience is what happens once you step outside: * walking past tall trees * seeing peacocks on rooftops * watching families stroll through the open grounds * letting your mind cool in the same way your body just did This isn't a restaurant visit. It's a reset. Verdict: A Place That Nourishes More Than Hunger Jyun Kang serves exactly what it intends to serve: pure, old-style temple vegetarian food, quietly and consistently. It won't dazzle you, but it will steady you. And sometimes, that is worth more than flavor. If you want boldness, go elsewhere. If you want a meal that lowers the volume of your day - come here. My husband and I stayed at the Stanford Inn back in 2025 to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary, and my goodness! It's going to be really hard to beat. The Raven's Restaurant was so convenient being only a few steps away from our room. The views from the dining room are breathtaking. You either get a view of the garden and ocean, or a view of the Big River. Both are amazing! Breakfast is complimentary for those staying at the Stanford Inn, and like other reviewers have mentioned, the portion sizes are large! The food is nutrient dense, so you feel satiated after only eating half of it or so. Our breakfast would also double as our lunch, so that's two meals in one! What a win! Plus, the service was top notch every time. We felt taken care of every step of the way. I am vegan and my husband is not vegan, however, he enjoys and appreciates vegan food. There have been some vegan restaurants that we've gone to where he was not a fan, but he was so pleasantly surprised and happy with all the food at Raven's Restaurant. We especially loved the scones and looked forward to each morning trying a new flavor. They were all so delicious and moist, not crumbly and dry. None of their items were too sweet or too salty, which was amazing for people who are sensitive to those flavors. My husband and I just booked another getaway in a couple weeks and we are counting down the days to be back and enjoy Raven's Restaurant again!

For drinks, we both got an iced lavender latte, which was delicious. I loved how the cardamom complemented the lavender so well and it was very refreshing and not too sweet. The smash burger was the best vegan patty I have had in years. It was very flavorful and moist. The watermelon salad was delicious, especially the avocado mousse. The pistachio cream on the pistachio bread was so addicting. I wish I could have bought a bottle of it! Every single item was crafted so well with the freshest ingredients. It was nice going to a place that focused less on soy, and more on whole foods and flavor. I highly recommend making a reservation, especially for brunch.
