To be honest, I wasn't expecting amazing food coming from a seafood restaurant in Nebraska, but I was blown away. Fried Alligator (pictured) was delicious. Tried 3 different oysters- delicious. Finally got the scallops as an entree and they were some of the best I've ever had, plated over a thick cut of pork belly. Excellent food quality and happy to pay the fair prices for it. Waiter was also very friendly and attentive. Love!
We had a late meal here upon arriving in Omaha. The restaurant has nice modern ambience. We ordered calamari appetizer and a couple of dishes and cocktails. I enjoyed my pasta which had shrimp and a few small pieces of lobster. Husband ordered fish. Their banana foster bread pudding was delicious. We enjoyed our meal and would recommend.
THIS was a great find in the Old Market area. We stopped in for Happy Hour where oysters are $1.50! Oyster shots $6 and many other specials on wines and cocktails. My husband loved the Port Old Fashion so much he talked with bartender to get recipe to try replicate at home. We enjoyed the Baja Shrimp ceviche and crab dip in addition to many oysters. We sat at the bar and the bartender was super friendly.
Wow ohh wow this place is delicious and great customer service. The food is really good. Lots of seating. Feels like I'm out to sea lol. I ordered the calamari which was crispy and crunchy. the lobster bisque rich with lobster flavor and lobster pieces. fried oysters with truffle fries were tasty and crunchy. And the lobster and shrimp pasta was nice and creamy with small baby tomatoes lobster and crab and shrimp. So yummy and tasty definitely bring your friends and family here.
We were traveling to the zoo and this was recommended to us to try. I was scared at first because there's a lot of seafood places that have scared me off before. Plank provisions did one heck of a job. This oyster bar was phenomenal. The service was great, the food was superb. I will say the Caesar salad with chicken I ordered was probably the best Caesar I've ever had (and I'm a big Caesar fan, so it has to be just right). The mahi mahi tacos were so delicious, the sauce, the flakiness everything about them were devoured. Lastly loved their happy hour options, were tried the calamari and hush puppies(the sauce with these were sooo good and spicy!) The whole place had a welcoming vibe, and made you feel like you were stepping somewhere on the coast side! Which is nice for the Midwest haha. Well done plank provisions!
OMG where to start? This is my new favorite spot for oysters when I'm in Omaha. Great happy hour prices, great services and great food. As soon as my friend and I walked in, we were greeted. We said we wanted to sit at the bar. Happy hour had just started so it wasn't super busy yet. Once we sat down Nate got us waters and told us about the happy hour specials. They had a lot of great options but we came for oysters and we also tried the calamari. They were both amazing. The oysters were so fresh and sweet. The calamari was cooked perfectly and they had great sauces that paired with it. And of course because it was happy hour of course I had to get a drink, I chose an old fashioned and it was made perfectly. The service overall was superb. The manager Tom happen to be there and found out we were from TX he gave us a coupon to their sister restaurant in Austin TX. So this was just the pre game. We came back with more friends and had dinner. I had scallops and a salad. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the salad was refreshing and tasty. To finish off dinner my friend and shared a dessert the peanut butter pie. It was a dream, if you like peanut butter and chocolate this is the dessert for you. I will definitely come back when I'm in town.

Because it was Sunday there was all day happy hour as well. We started with the $1 oysters. Also ordered the tuna tartar tacos, crudo, hush puppies, mussels, calamari, catfish, fish and chips, and crispy rice. Everything we had was delicious and fresh. A lot of fusion flavors but they also have the classics. Sadly didn't get a photo of anything besides the oysters. Was too busy enjoying the food. My children who are 5 and 3 loved it. They ordered the mussels and ordered more bread to soak up all the sauce. Can't believe it took us so long to come back. Def won't wait another 3 years before coming back. One of my fav restaurants and the best seafood in Omaha!
Who doesn't love a happy hour but when the staff make you feel like a regular on your first visit, it makes you want to keep coming back. We stumbled in for the oysters happy hour ($1 oysters, chefs choice) & it was so good we came back for dinner. I'll start off with happy hour - we sat at the bar - and Nate & Thom made this one of the best happy hours I've been to. I wasn't sure which beer I wanted to go with so I asked to sample and I'm thankful that Thom and Nate suggested the seasonal beer to try because it was great. My friend who was with me wasn't sure about the raw oysters so I told her she could try mine and go from there. I also went ahead and tried one each of the other two oysters available (not $1 but still worth trying). We also got the calamari and she ordered an old fashion. The oysters (Goldilocks) were small (I'm from Texas where everything is bigger and we usually eat gulf oysters) so I was a little surprised by that but you can swallow them and not choke on them. They had a nice sweet brininess to them and my friend who wasn't sure, ended up eating half and ordered us another dozen. We had the hot sauce, horseradish & cocktail sauce, however with the second dozen Thom suggested the jalapeño ponzu and the house made hot sauce. Surprisingly the ponzu on the oyster and slurping it back was the way to GO! The calamari was delicious and cooked well. The dipping sauce that came with it was a great little pop of flavor to add to it. So Happy Hour was a success! Dinner on the other hand was a slight miss for me. I ordered the half Cesar salad and the lobster bisque. The bisque was more of a tomato soup - although it had lobster pieces in it, it was thin and runny and I was looking for something with a little more body. The salad was just a salad, however everyone who got a salad that night felt the same way. Nothing to write home about could have used a little more of this or that. But overall as a meal, everyone enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant as well as the food, so I'd say it was a success.
In town for work, we arrived for an early dinner and although it didn't look busy when you walked in, the dining room was busy. It's beautiful inside! I ordered a Strawberry Surfer and the Shrimp Brochette. The food was very good. If you like seafood you will find something you like on their menu.
This seafood hit the spot the day my wife and I visited. Our server was very knowledgeable and answer my oyster questions. I love trying oysters from all around the US and had never tried what was on special that day. I lived the small bottle of hot sauce with dropper that made it easy to add the perfect amount of hot sauce. The oil, sauce mix ( I can't remember what she called it) was delicious with the oysters. I also loved the calamari because it was flavorful and cooked perfectly. I definitely will be back to try more menu items if I can make myself not order oysters/calamari next time. That will be hard not to do since it was that tasty.
We wanted to try something different for lunch, and my husband was in the mood for seafood. For me it was somewhat difficult to find something to eat because I'm eating super healthy right now so I opted for a salad with their champagne vinaigrette. I did try a few bites of my husband's fried calamari that was delicious and cooked perfectly! My salad had kale and Romain lettuce that was topped with cheese and dressing. For a salad salad it was a very large portion for the price. I definitely want to come back sometime because their menu had a few options that weren't quite as healthy but looked and sounded delicious. Plus, Monday was all day happy hour that from 1100-1800. I was really wanting to take advantage of the drink menu because a few others had ordered great looking drinks, but I will try something another day.
One of my favorite places to go Drinks are amazing, I haven't had a bad one (the lemon drop martini is the best) I like to go for the happy hour oysters but the fish and chips are SO good I'm always taken care of with water refills and constant check ins from the wait staff Amazing as always
I realize that finding a seafood place in Omaha seems like a bit of an odd quest, but that's what we were in the mood for. I was quite glad we made a reservation because the place filled up pretty quickly though was surprisingly empty when we first arrived. The food was delicious and we tried a variety of things. The beignet style hushpuppies were rather what you might expect from that name, a hushpuppy with a bit of a dessert twist. We also got the spicy tuna roll appetizer and that was also quite good. I should mention we managed to arrive at the tail end of happy hour, and the prices for happy hour are definitely worthwhile. I had the baja fish tacos and fries, because well, fries. That said, the service was definitely subpar, thus one less star. The drinks took a long time to arrive, and when we asked for a wine list between appetizers and meal (twice!) it never arrived. Attempts to get refills on water were also a challenge. It's a nice place, perhaps a bit loud for a quiet meal especially once it gets crowded. I'd give it another chance, because the food was good, but the service really left something to be desired.
Plank has, unfortunately, announced they will be closing at the end of 2025, and while I did enjoy some of their food offerings, I can't say I'm super surprised. They definitely have/had some pretty high prices compared to other eateries in the area. I'm not sure if that is caused by cost of goods or location or what, but I think that did come into play when a lot of economic hardship is happening all over. Like I mentioned above, I DID like their food, but it definitely had to be a special occasion type of thing, due to the high prices. When we did go, I LOVED the Maryland Crab Dip. It reminded me of my favorite crab dip in the world, at the SweetWater Brewing Company in Atlanta. We also had the Green Bean Almandine that was on special last time we went and that was pretty good, but you have to be a green bean fan, for sure. I decided to try the sushi as my main dish last time, and had the Everything Crunch Maki, which consisted of cooked salmon, jalapeño, and cream cheese. It was pretty good, and had a little hint of spice to it from the jalapeño, which cut the heavy cream aspect. My husband had the Grilled Atlantic Salmon for his entree, and gave me a few bites. It was cooked well and the mushroom risotto below it was very flavorful and filling. The cute nautical ambiance and excellent service were always appreciated, so no complaints there either. I think if they had been in a different area with less expensive rent and cost of goods, I may have visited more often. read more
Plank Provisions was a complete homerun -- my favorite meal in Omaha, and likely my favorite meal I have had all summer. This spot was right by the hotel in Old Market, and we were early enough to get right in and grab a nice table (during happy hour, no less). The vibes are clean, nautical without being cheesy, and bright. The service was equally bright and helpful, and everything was flowing. On a super hot day, I had a Tom Collin's that was great and refreshing. Our group shared calamari with a top tier dipping sauce, an "aji verde" sauce that was new to me but I would buy it by the pint. We also shared their truffle fries and the side of mustard aioli was great as well. Best fries in a while. For my main, I got the blackened Mississippi catfish that was served over dirty rice, green beans, tomatoes, and a crawfish beurre blanc. It was as good as it sounds, I ate every bite on the plate. Okay, so let's recap: Amazing location? Check. Great service? Check. Good specials/happy hour? Check. Great food? Major check. Hard to top, I'll go here everytime I'm in the area and it was hard not to go back twice. read more
We are traveling from Las Vegas and came here yesterday after my boyfriend called to ask if they had vegan options. They were very enthusiastic about being able to serve us and it was walking distance from our hotel. We arrived to a very clean and open ambience. The waitress went over what options could be made vegan and made sure they were really thorough and attentive which always makes me feel good when they care. It was so good...We decided to come back tonight and bring my parents who are also visiting from out of town. They are from Ohio and my dad loves oysters. I love restaurants that can cater to everybody and this place is it. I have the brussels sprouts, truffle, fries, salad ( all modified) and their passion Palmer mocktail. They also had a very fancy vegan pasta dish that I didn't get the pleasure of trying as I'm trying to reduce my wheat intake. Everyone was friendly. My mom got the fish and chips and ate almost all of it. She loved how the coleslaw was shredded very finally. My dad got 30 oysters and said they were all perfectly prepared. My boyfriend got a half Caesar salad today, with a shrimp cocktail and the chicken and pasta dish. He loves fresh homemade pasta. My son got the kids noodles and he could tell they were fresh like I make them. We walked but my parents were able to find parking! What a find! We were walking to another place and saw this gem walking by. Decided to check the menu out online and they have a weekend lunch happy hour! Oysters were a dollar!!! Like what?! The service was seriously amazing. We ordered a drink for a friend and she was late getting there so he remade the drink without us even asking. Very attentive and fun! The place has an ocean wall and cool ship on the ceiling. It was very cool! Get the crab dip! It was the best thing with their house smoky hot sauce. read more
I was exploring the Old Market and I stopped at Plank Provisions for that Thai Clam Chowder and an Old Fashioned. Both items were delicious and hit the spot. I wanted to get some oysters (shipped from Virginia), but I wasn't going to pay non-happy hour prices for imported seafood. If I'm ever back in Omaha for some reason, I'll try to make it here for some happy hour oysters! read more
I have been here twice now and the service is excellent. Oysters are fresh, this place is always what's recommended to me for oysters. And they do $1 oysters during happy hour! Very cute restaurant and cozy booths! I thought the lobster pasta was just okay, it was a little spicy but the chicken piccata was VERY satisfying. Good cocktails too :) read more

I hate when I only have a 3 star or less experience. It just wasn't there this time. The Baja ceviche appetizer was really good, loved the added hot sauce, gave it some good flavor. I wasn't very hungry so I thought I would just get an appetizer as my meal and went with the mussels. It was a very large serving! I liked the sauce and the bread. What was not right were the mussels themselves. Overcooked? Old? Not sure but the texture was not right. They fell apart when I tried to get them out of the shell. It was disappointing. My husband has a dairy allergy and they did a good job of accommodating that and communicating what he could and could not have. I would give this place another try though, next time I'm in the area. read more

Found this gem after the College World Series Final. All day Happy Hour on Sunday!! Super neat vibe! Menu has a nice variety. We started off with a Port Old Fashion and Strawberry Surfer. The wonton tacos were great! Husband got the fish n chips and I got the curried clam chowder and the fish sandwich. Everything was fantastic! Who knew seafood can be done exceptionally well in the Midwest! Servers were very attentive and friendly! Highly recommend. Great way to celebrate the LSU win of the CWS! Geaux Tigers! read more

Plank continues to be my favorite Omaha restaurant! We were so excited to try out the new menu, and it did not disappoint!! My Coco Inferno cocktail was delicious, the Plank Truffle Frites were great, I LOVED the Pepita Ahi Tuna, my husband thought his Faroe Island Salmon was great, and of course the Bananas Foster Bread Pudding continues one of our favorite desserts of all time. Service was also great, and it's just such a fun place to sit and have a meal. Will always rave about this spot read more
For this being my first time having raw oysters, I'm very glad I went to Plank! Everything tasted so fresh and the chef's choice oysters were made even more delicious by the cocktail and red wine mignonette sauces that I ordered. For my main course, I ordered the pepita ahi tuna which came with pasta and a creamy sauce. Everything was done perfectly and the waiter was so knowledgeable and friendly. It was also really cool to have a table where we could see Old Market outside as well as the oyster bar inside! read more

My boyfriend and I were visiting Omaha for the weekend and decided to come here to celebrate our engagement. The restaurant was extremely busy so I'm glad we made a reservation. We liked the vibe and decor. We ordered oysters to start with and they tasted great but we were not told which ones were which. We shared PEI Mussels, shrimp toast, blackened fish tacos, and crab and curry basmati rice. Mussels were sooo tiny and had way too many pork rinds in it. It also had chunks of avocado in it. Not sure if it was meant to be in there. Shrimp toast was way overcooked and so hard. The top layer under the sauce was basically black. Tacos were ok. I really enjoyed the crab rice. It had the perfect flavor but wished the crab meat were bigger and not so minced. We were a little bummed we didn't fully enjoy the food here. read more
We went to Plank on a whim when we had time to kill before a flight. It has been years since we've been here since we live out west. That was clearly a mistake because it was even better than we remembered. We did a variety of shareable, a couple of drinks, and dessert. The non-alcoholic Palmer was a great way for the driver to still have a cocktail. The Cucumber Collins was light and refreshing sitting on the outdoor patio. We started with the happy hour oysters and they were some of the largest we've had. Loved the little droppers for the mignoette sauce and the hot sauce. Next we had the Tuna Poke, the Smoked Salmon Tartine, and the Fish Dip. Personally the tartine was not to my taste, seemed like dressed up avocado toast, but my husband enjoyed it. And we both really enjoyed the Tuna Poke and Fish Dip. Not full yet we added on the Hush Puppies and these are not to be missed. Often hush Puppies are super dense but not the case with these, and I enjoyed the corn kernels throughout the dough. To finish we took the waiters recommendation to get the banana bread pudding and it was amazing. I came here to eat with my sisters during a work trip in Omaha. We are from Vegas and not at all familiar with this area. Originally we had planned to eat at another restaurant across the street but it was over an hour wait and they recommended Plank which I feel was meant to happen for us!! I would eat here 100 times again before attempting the other place again. Starting off by saying that this place should have just as long of a wait as the other restaurant because it was all around exceptional!! The inside of Plank is so well put together and extremely clean including the bathrooms. The hostess was very friendly and immediately got us sat and provided us with the option of indoor or outdoor seating. Our waiter this night was Sam who I can say with confidence made our entire experience. Off the bat Sam was friendly and conversational. Even with his section being filled, he took time to recommend appetizers and entrees that were popular but also ones that were his personal favorites. He also made time for general conversation which made us feel very welcomed and wanted. We went with all of his recommendations and every single one was beyond delicious! For appetizers we ordered the ceviche, crab dip, and the mussels. For the entree we ordered the Catfish and spilt it amongst the 3 of us. Also can't forget to mention our drinks. We all ordered the Strawberry Surfer which was delicious. Not overly sweet and still refreshing the alcohol taste was non existent. Absolutely everything here was a 12/10. Sam was well educated on the menu as he said he's been there for 6 years and the service he provided was excellent. I never had to flag him down because he was always checking in on us. The food here was amazing including the breads and hot sauce they give you for the crab dip and mussels. Lastly I am so big on restaurant looking well put together and Plank nailed it on the atmosphere. I am so sad to be back home only because I won't be able to come back and enjoy this meal again until i'm back in Omaha. I will be looking forward to next time even if it's years to come! I've been here a few times and have never been unsatisfied. Service has always been very kind, knowledgeable and attentive. It is the only place I go to get my oyster fix, and have yet to be disappointed. The jalapeño ponzu is to die for! Definitely worth a try if you're a seafood junkie. read more

I am excited to eat here today since all week I have had not so good food while traveling. Ordered gluten free Thai coconut clam chowder --- excellent !!! No kidding the salmon is the best I have had in a long long time! Kudos to the chef! I will be back! Most enjoyable dinner all week. Epic ! Beautifully decorated! The Calamari was burnt. It looked burnt when the waitress brought it out but I still wanted to give it a try... it was not only burnt it was friend so hard with just cornmeal and absolutely NO SEASONING or FLAVOR. The waitress was extremely sweet but I waited a while for the manager to stop by my table. I sat outside it was the perfect day. The ambience and the restaurant looked very inviting and relaxing, but I chose to sit outside. read more

Plank is consistent considering all the change on this corner. Huge windows and great staff make it a go to place for us. And the seafood is great. Ironically the blackened catfish is my favorite, but it's tough to go wrong here. The space is modern/nautical (sounds wrong, but that's what it is). read more

We decided to stop in Omaha via a recent road trip. My teenage daughter and I stayed at Hotel Deco, within walking distance of the Old Market district, where we found Plank Provisions. What a treat! The crispy rice salmon appetizer and salmon/tuna Crudo were fabulous. Our main dishes were the blackened catfish and the pepita tuna with bucatinni pasta- outstanding! Very creative flavor combinations and our waitress Taylor was top-notch. Very much enjoyed our first time visit to Omaha! Wonderful oyster selection and incredibly fresh seafood. Lovely N/A drinks as well. Highly recommend dining here if you like seafood-and walking back to hotel at 9:30pm was very safe, lots of folks out and about. read more
