This is a very welcome addition to the up and coming Cottleville area. The building itself is very cool. Has a large, welcoming patio, and it has quite a bit of space inside. We went on a stormy night and the power flickered a few times. That was to be expected from such an old building. The staff was very friendly though, which made up for it. I got the Buffalo Chicken pizza. Reminded me quite a bit of PW Pizza, which is a very good thing. The girls got a salad and a BBQ pizza. They were impressed with everything. The entertainment of the night came from a very pregnant lady getting locked into the bathroom for at least 7-10 minutes. It took quite a few guys to figure out how to get her out. She took it like a sport and was joking that it's okay she can have the baby now that she isn't locked in the bathroom. So ladies... you've been warned, be VERY careful when locking the door to make sure you don't lock yourself in too. My only negative comment really has to do with the pricing vs. the portions. It is one of the more expensive pizza places around. That being said... it is also one of the best. read more

Loved all the varieties we tried - names are slipping my mind. One is all meat. One is bbq pork. Simple cheese. BBQ pork was my favorite. Love the crust. No one but the cashier was wearing a mask. The two staff members in the back handling the food were not wearing masks or any kind of face shield. I am incredibly disappointed that the staff cares so little about the well being of the customers, especially when on their facebook page they asked all customers to wear a mask (which was also not enforced, nor was it posted anywhere that I could see). They have pretty great pizza and a very beautiful little place to sit and eat. They have a little high prices but if you able to get there early, definitely get their lunch special for a great price. Great pizza in a perfectly quaint setting. Limited seating since it's in a old house but at least there's a patio for warmer months. The pizza was delicious and great quality. They also have salads but I didn't try. My wife and I went came here on Sunday after 4 pm. The restaurant had a handful of customer and the dining areas inside and out were clean and maintained. The staff was friendly, pleasant, and helpful. We ordered the signature Plank Road pizza, two half Classic salads, and two beers, then sat outside and enjoyed the patio. The salads were wonderful. The overall taste of the pizza was wonderful as well. My only complaint is that there was way way too much lettuce and it could have used a little more chicken. In fact, the chicken was so sparse that there were two slices that didn't have a single chunk, and considering that this was only a 12-inch pizza, makes that even worse. The only other place where I would recommend improvement is the ordering method. All orders are done inside at the cash register, which is okay for my initial order, but if I want an additional beer, I have to get back up, go inside, and complete a brand new transaction. I understand that they are still a new restaurant working out the "flaws" so to speak, but overall, this place is just a little over-priced for delivering an average experience. I suspect in time, with a little tweaking here and there, things will improve. read more

In fact, what we have here are smaller and more expensive versions of wornout decades-old sterotypically-topped pies. The old house has been given nice updates and makes for a pleasant atmosphere. But it ends there. Why go to so much trouble to deliver an average product? I know we're insulated in the midwest but, no nuevo efforts to share, guys? Where is the inspiration? Think ....duck sausage...pear and gorgonzola....arugula and prociutto...Thai chicken...clams and pork belly...garlic cream...salame...okra...cajun...bourbon... The first time I visited Plank Road, I had the worst pizza EVER. I'm not exaggerating. The crust was dry and flavorless, and the toppings were almost nonexistent. Then friends suggested we meet here for dinner. To my surprise, my pizza was tasty! The others in our party also said they liked their pizzas and salad. But well . . . when you go to a pizza place, don't you expect the pizza to be tasty? After a good experience, we decided to stop by for dinner on a Saturday night. This time I ordered some extra toppings (which really drove the price way up) and a salad. Even with extra toppings, pizza was blah. Crust was tough, sauce had no flavor. Salad was disappointing as well, over-dressed with mayo dressing, chopped limp lettuce with no more than 2 small pieces of red onion and tomato. If you look beyond the food, there's nothing that deserves a better rating. It's an ordering style like McDonalds: go to the counter, place your order, pay and someone brings your food to the table. Unlike McDonalds, they expect a tip and you can't get up and get your own drink refills. The server who delivers your food doesn't ask if you received everything or need anything else. Plop down the food . . . that's it. My biggest complaint about Plank Road is that none of the staff seem to care about their customers. Every time I've been there, it appears the staff's friends or family members are there and get attention, but the rest of the diners are rudely ignored. I have to wonder if these friends and family are submitting the good reviews. You should decide for yourself if you want to believe the hype. With so many other choices with better food, better prices, and better service, I won't be back. read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Rude manager and staff who were not willing to remedy our burnt pizza. Pizza not very tasty and over priced so I will never return or recommend. We should have been told that pizza was burnt and they were supposedly remaking. From Order To pizza delivery to table was over 36 minutes. They never would have known the pizza was burning had I not gone in to check on my order after the first 25 minutes. Then I was told that it would only 7 minutes to remake and waited over 20 minutes for it. Manager was very reluctant to refund the cost of the pizza. read more

This place is adorable. Cozy and quaint. The order at the counter idea seems to work well here. They staff was very courteous and made me feel like I was being welcomed into their home. Definitely my favorite pizza in St. Louis. Creative pizza choices (we love the Lime Street--jalapeño, chicken, and sriracha mayo drizzle), fresh ingredients, and a fantastic bready crust. Try their house salad--light herb dressing and pizza crust croutons--it's great. The food is only part of what I love about this place though. The beer selections are local (bottles and cans), the feel inside is cozy and creative, and the patio is beautiful. My only suggestion is bring cash for a tip. The service is outstanding for an order-at-the-counter restaurant, but they don't have the capability to put a tip on the credit card. read more

I used to really like PR pizza, but the last two I ordered have been very under cooked, almost doughy. I got both to go, so I did not know I had a problem until I got home. I thought I would call to alert them of this, but they don't have a phone. So I decided to send an email - which to my knowledge was never read as it was never answered. I guess I am now of a mind set they are hit and miss. Their pizza can be very good, but as I have seen in my past two visits they can be bad just as easy. Great pizza, however their large doesn't quite feed two people on its own but if you get an app or salad that will do the trick. The house salad was okay, dressing was great the salad itself was made of shredded lettuce and little to no other toppings. Could have used more substance. We got their standard pepperoni pizza and the buffalo chicken pizza both had very flavorful sauces and fresh toppings. With the two large pizzas and full salad we only ended up taken home two slices we were too full to finish and our bill came out to be $36. I guess to be expected at specialty pizza shop in the middle of a very small town??? If you like small hole in the wall places that serve up specialty pizza and have a patio this the place for you. I probably won't be back again due to high prices and small portions but still glad we had the experience. read more

pizza is VERY overpriced. $15 plus for a personal sized pizza. the service was horrible and run by a bunch of bitchy teenagers. we ordered 4 pizzas and they came out one at a time... slowly. we needed napkins and had a group of 6 people.. the girl gave us 2 napkins and made a snarky remark when we asked for more than 2. each of us got one napkin and we were lucky to get that! then we go ask for 2 pizza boxes and one of the teen girls in the back yells up "no! there is only one more" I'm excuse me!? just paid $85 for your shit pizza and I can't have a box and 6 napkins?? all four pizzas were burnt. the kitchen was FILTHY. also 2 hours later and 2 of the 6 guests already have upset stomachs from our dinner... needless to say spend your $85 and precious time somewhere else! read more

My family and I love this place even through it's a bit expensive. Think the uniqueness is worth the upcharge. Pulled pork pizza special was pretty freaking awesome! My favorite is the St. Louis cheese. Sounds boring, but literally the best damn cheese pizza I have ever had in my life and I flipping LoVe pizza!!! Atmosphere is really nice... unfortunately I can't say the same for the pizza. I ordered the club pizza, and the chicken tasted old, the lettuce was slimy and was covered with a mayonnaise drizzle. The crust was great though. I would say overall, it's not worth the price. For a family of four (one child) we spent over $60 on sub par pizza. Very disappointed with the price, portions, service and atmosphere. Family ordered glass of wine, salad and two gourmet pizzas. The salad was chopped iceberg from a bag with minimal toppings. Dressing was ok. Wine was a small pour. Maybe should think about smaller glasses. Pizza had minimal toppings and was OK - not sure what was gourmet about it. Probably should put signs up that it is self serve on plates and silverware. Table was an old door that has ridges in it where food gets stuck (unsanitary). $50 was the bill. We ended up here on a whim one Sunday afternoon. My husband and I were craving pizza that wasn't Pizza Hut or Dominos. Plank Road pizza was a pleasant surprise. We started with the pizza chips and salsa. My husband enjoyed this more than I did, but I do have to say the ingredients were all really fresh. In my opinion it needed a little salt, but overall pretty good. I got their signature plank road pizza and it was good. Though on the menu it claimed to come topped with arugula and mine had iceberg shreds. My husband ordered the buffalo chicken pizza and we both decided that was delicious. It was topped with real blue cheese crumbles. We went for lunch and both got the $10 pizza and salad combo. The plank road salad was good as well. In my opinion lunch is the best time to try plank road pizza. read more

Last time I ate here will be just that. The sauce was nasty. My son and I both could not believe it was the same place we were really starting to enjoy on a frequent basis. Had the employees done their job and checked on us maybe we could have alerted them to the issue and saved them from serving nasty food all day but no one came by. If I could rate this place with no stars, I would. The staff consists of mostly teenagers; which I would have been fine with if it weren't for what they were doing. I ordered the margarita pizza and a half salad. The salad was fine, a little soggy but the dressing was very nice. But my entire pizza was scorched at the bottom and the crust. It was nauseating how bad it was. Not even my 12 year old son who eats everything in sight could choke it down. My husband got the Pittman Hill which is a meat lovers pizza. He said it was alright, though two seconds later promptly pulled a long, black hair out of his mouth. Horrible. I thought it couldn't have gotten worse until we were about to leave I looked into the windows of their kitchen and saw one of the teenagers back in the kitchen puff on some nicotine device, then blow the smoke directly onto someone's pizza. I ordered the lunch special to go and I was so excited because it looks delicious and the reviews say the food is fantastic. Well, sad to say but it was the nastiest, soggiest, soupiest, salad I have ever had in my entire life. They honestly should know to put the dressing on the side when it's a to go order. Some of us like to taste the vegetables in our salads. My co-worker had The Lime Street, she said the crust was good but the pizza itself was tasteless.
