When I visited their shop, they quoted $30 to patch my tire. However, after finding two nails, they claimed one was on the side and couldn't be repaired, forcing me to buy a new $450 tire. This was untrue, as the nail wasn't actually on the side and hadn't caused any damage. It was in the middle and definitely repairable. I then went to another shop nearby, and they fixed the tire for just $25, showing that the other shop's claims were simply false. I don't understand why they used such deceptive tactics. read more

Plano Tire is amazing. We had a Bad Boy tire that needed patching. They said they could do it (Discount Tire could not due it due to TXDoT regulations and referred me to them). Marty was so professional when I talked to him on the phone and he said they could do it as long as the damage was not in the wheel wall. I dropped the tire off and they fixed it. I went to this place for a wheel balance. What was supposed to be $60+ turned into over $400+. The mechanic didn't mount my rear wheels on securely and said the axle was bent which would have costed me $1200. After they looked into it more, he realized he didn't mount it properly. I was still charged $300 in labor for his mistake. Add that $300 to the cost of the wheel balance and it ended up being over $400. They charged me for the wheel balance as well as an extra $15+ for wheel weights and tax. I tried to call the manager and had left messages to call me back, but he never did. I tried disputing with my credit card provider, but no luck there. Final resort is to provide a bad review in hopes that others don't fall victim to their bad business practices. After I received the car, the wheels were still over, the car still had vibration. I ended up wasting $400+ and going to another mechanic that ended up actually doing proper work. read more

My car is a 2010 Prius that had the heat exchanger stolen and the catalytic converter damaged in a theft that took place in the parking garage at my apartment. I took it to the dealer and was told that it would take 6 months to get the part and over $3k in cost. I took it to Plano Tire based upon their internet reviews and it was an absolute lifesaver. Gene, who works there took it upon himself to track down a replacement part and get the repair done in a matter of days! I picked it up and was charged less than $1,300 for the total repair. I was in last week to get a front end alignment for my Chevy Colorado. A few days later I took my Truck to different shop to have some brake work done. While inspecting the brakes, the other mechanic found that I had a bad tie-rod. I mentioned to him that I just had the alignment done. His comment was that Plano Tire should have seen the issue when doing the alignment. So I asked him to fix the tie-rod. Not even thinking that I should have had him put it back together so I could take it to Plano tire them inspect what they missed to begin with. But that's what the owner (Gene) said I should have done when I asked him to re-align the steering now that the new tie-rod has been fixed. Gene instantly questioned my honesty and was not even slightly willing to accept that maybe his alignment guy did not catch the issue. I didn't even think this would be an issue with Gene because I had always known him to be a stand-up guy who stood behind the work done at Plano tire. I've been doing business with Plano Tire for about 8 years. I've bought several sets of tire for my truck, my boat trailer, my Jeep, my wife's car, my daughter's car, my son's car, and even a boat trailer. I've recommended Plano Tire to my friends on numerous occasions. I've even brought friends to their doorstep personally to do business with. What really would it cost Plano Tire to do a realignment and make a long-term customer happy? Not much when you consider the amount of future business lost! The funny thing about bad reviews, a business never really knows how much business a bad review will cost them. As for me, I won't be back to Plano Tire. And if you are looking for a mechanic/garage that will stand behind their work, treat you with respect, and honor your long history with them... I suggest you look somewhere else. read more

The team at Plano Tire takes care of you - honest, great service. Can't tell you how many times Gene has saved my family money. A dealership told my mom she had a leak costing $3,000 to repair; Gene tightened the nut and she has not lost a drop in 10,000 miles. Even if you need it, they will do the repair less expensively. WARNING PLEASE READ!!!!! I would not recommend this place to anyone they over charged me.Had a problem steering my truck I advised the guy( Marty) that it was my alternator belt after he looked at it Marty advised me that my alternator had to be replaced and not my alternator belt.Marty stated the repairs would be total of $544.00 which I thought was very expensive, I feel as if I was overcharged for services rendered. I paid.them because this is my only way to get around.to transport my son back and forth to school .After I picked my truck up the next day, I noticed a light on my dashboard that was not there before. I called Marty to ask him why would there be a light on inside of my truck. Marty stated he did not know but to bring my truck back in again Marty stated due to previous repairs on my vehicle days before this could have caused an imbalance. Marty stated he would take a look at it ONLY!!!!!After sitting in the shop for 45mins to an hour It was brought to my attention by Marty that it would take him 1hour to fix the light in my truck that was no fault of my own and that it would be $ 290 for repairs my truck was taken apart ,without my permission/ knowledge administered an diagnostic test without my permission/ knowledge I was never advised of this Marty stated that if I didnt get the work done at their place of business there would be a charged of $30 for the 1hour service that was administered on my vehicle without my permission/ knowledged. I advised Marty he never discussed a price to relook at my vehicle from previous repairs administered by his company.days before.My revisit back to this business was due to previous repairs administered by Marty that was never corrected on the first visit. There never should have been a charge to relook at their previous work to my vehicle but a courtesy due to previous repairs and my paying $544 days before . Im very disappointed and unhappy with how they do business. I feel like I have been taken advantage of, violated and mishandled. I feel like they tried to take advantage of the fact that both mine and my husband's vehicles had issues within a couple of days. These guys do a great job and are honest. Look nowhere else for your tires. My tire had a nail in the outer tread which I knew meant it needed to be replaced so I had them order it before I showed up. After they looked at the tire Chris said good news that was not a nail but there was a nail in the middle causing the flat so the tire could be fixed without replacing it. They could have easily just charged me for a new tire but they are honest which shows their values and how they value their customers. I have all five of my cars taken here to get new tires when they where out. They also helped me pick out the best tires for the money and those tires I have always been very satisfied with the quality and their installation. Gene was also great in finding tires for my sons oversized wheels for my sons car and they did a great job of installing them as it was a difficult job. read more

Turns out that the guys at the last place put too much air in the tires causing the pressure indicator light to go off. I thought I had a slow leak. But, I did not. I have been bringing cars and trucks here since the early eighties, I don't trust anyone else for alignments either. They can do just about anything but specialize in tires brakes etc, great place to take trailers as well. They have always done it right the first time and are priced fairly for the work involved. Yeah, you might be able to find a cheaper price on a tire from a chain dealer, but you won't get be service and expertise and the cost is not really much at all if anything. read more

I recently moved to Plano from Fort Worth and needed a mechanic in the area to take a look at my car (check engine light). I was told that I needed two O2 sensors and two catalytic converters that was going to cost me $1,500 so I let them know that I was going to need a few days to think about dropping that much money. When I got back to the shop I was charged $103 for this information, definitely would've been nice to know about this bill beforehand. When I addressed the fact that I wasn't informed of a charge for them to take a look at my car I was told "nobody works for free" (although many professions like relators, apartment managers or even many mechanics don't actually make money until they actually accomplish something for you). I did not care for their lack of communication nor for their lack of customer service. The next day, I drove 45 min. to my old mechanic in NRH who informed me that not only was one of my O2 sensors fine but that BOTH MY CATALYTIC CONVERTERS WERE FINE as well. Long story short, he charged me $220 to get the job done as opposed to the $1,500 these guys were going to charge me! I would not take my car to Plano Tire Co. yes, they got my $103 but they will never see another dime from me. read more
