    My baby!

I LOVE my car... and I don't trust anyone to work on it other than me usually... but my tools won't work for this job. I trust these folks!! The guys who work here are incredibly polite not to just me, but every person who came in the door the few times I've been here. The first time I came, I got a quote and advice on how I could do it not only cheaper but they also advised me on other ideas and how to take care of a few other car parts at home like my passenger outside mirror. What made me trust this place is when I was waiting on my first quote, the mechanic made sure to let the lady checking out that the oil change she has is good for 5k miles not the regular 3k. She thanked him and didn't know that about synthetic oil and has been scammed before. Little things like this show integrity. I know I can trust not only my car with this location, but my wallet too. Thank you for not taking advantage of unsuspecting women, that really shows character!!!

Long Version - one day my trunk wouldn't open. I heard a click, but it wouldn't open. My car thought it was open (the little warning would come on each time I turned on the cat), but I couldn't get it to open. So I took it to Car Care Central. They said it likely was electrical and that it would be $300 for them to diagnose the problem. After they did that the first person I talked to said it would be $1900 to repair and made it sound like they wanted to replace the thing that was responsible for ALL the power locks. I said that didn't make sense because all the other doors worked fine... so they passed the phone to someone else. I don't remember what explanation they gave me, but they said something I probably didn't understand and said they'd apply the $300 to the repair cost. I got my car and said I would have to schedule the repair later. At the time I was in a hurry, so I didn't notice that they did not give me a quote, only a receipt for the diagnostics. Later, I decided to text my friend who's incredibly knowledgeable about cars to see if I needed to get a 2nd opinion from another mechanic. He asked to look at the quote. I contacted Car Care Central and they emailed it to me. Now the repair was $1200. ‍ Definitely suspicious. My friend then told me about 2 things I could try myself to figure out the problem on my own. So I looked up the fuse box information for my car, found the "relay" (looks like a plug) for my trunk, unplugged that, and swapped it with a relay from another part that was working. My trunk opened! This "diagnosis" of the problem took me all of TWENTY minutes and that was only because I had to look up info first. I ordered a new relay from AutoZone for $12, got it the next day, plugged it in, and my trunk has worked since. ‍ I know we've all heard of mechanics trying to take advantage, but I'm still shocked at the amount they tried to charge me, and that they still charged me the $300 at all. So yeah, wanted to spread the warning so no one else gets scammed!
