Plantation House is a lovely restaurant in a beautiful old house. It's homey and charming. There's outdoor seating and a large yard with a gazebo. It's perfect for kids needing to burn some energy. They normally serve German food here but I went on Thanksgiving. The Thanksgiving buffet was absolutely delicious. The buffet had a salad bar with green salad, broccoli, three bean salad, cranberry sauce, cucumber salad, and cherry fluff. The main buffet had ham, turkey and gravy, green beans, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, cornbread dressing, corn, macaroni and cheese, turnip greens, cornbread and yeast rolls. The dessert bar had Black Forest cake rolls, blueberry delight, pumpkin crumble, apple pie, and chocolate chip pound cake. The service was friendly and warm. My waitress was very informative and sweet. I will definitely be back to try their usual menu.

Small, family run restaurant that knows what they're doing. The food is always FRESH, hot, and absolutely mouthwatering. They have the most amazing and authentic German food on Friday nights. Delicious Sunday country style lunch. Servers are great about helping you and everyone is so friendly. The house itself is gorgeous and always beautifully decorated. Go to eat, you won't regret it!

Thank you for being open in Thanksgiving. Food was amazing amd fresh. Service was friendly, I appreciate it specially considering you had so many people at the same time. The ambiance was cozy, warm and already decorated for Christmas. Loved it!

This is a good clean well decorated place to eat. Feels like eating at home, at least if you're southern and used to vegetables, fried chicken, and homemade dessert. German night is on Friday, during the week give a call to get a description of what's on the bar, as it may change from week to week. The owner is authentically German, and in October there is usually beer served over the period of a week or two, those are only times alchohol is served at this location. Although you are allowed to bring your own beer on site.

This place is a must!…read more We stopped on our way through Montgomery. We ordered pork chops and chicken. Both were cooked well and delicious. We also had stuffing, greens, yams, black eyed peas, and mac & cheese. Note that the cornbread muffin that came with one of the meals was dry, and the greens were on the salty side. That said, we enjoyed our stop. The staff were gracious even though they were fairly busy, and they checked on us while eating. We'd definitely stop again.

For lunch, I ordered the Oxtails plate (served with white rice + cornbread) with a choice of three sides. I opted for the Baked Mac & Cheese, Steamed Cabbage, and Luscious Collard Greens. The taste of the food was fantastic. The savory oxtails smothered in gravy were tender. All of the sides were flavorful and met expectations. For everything, it was priced at $29.99, which was quite reasonable considering the portion size. The inside of the restaurant was cozy with a family-friendly diner feel. The music playing was very entertaining. Each table had a great variety of condiments available, including hot sauces, ketchup, mustard, etc. Overall, J.W. Beverette's Soul Food was a solid choice for experiencing comforting, delicious soul food. If I weren't visiting from California and resided in Alabama, I'd totally be a regular customer at this restaurant. I will be sure to visit here should I travel to Alabama again.
