I have been here many times over the years. This place is always a must stop when I'm in the area. Sometimes more than once. Every time I have done, the food has always been top-notch, however, I have only ever eaten breakfast here. The waitresses have always been friendly and attentive. Restaurant is always clean. We had breakfast here today. The food and service was excellent. Large portions, it is a few hours before dinner time and I am still stuffed. Next time we are here, I will try the waffles. The food was really good. We had breakfast - fried eggs perfectly done, bacon crisp, sour dough and rye toast. There was a .75 extra charge on our bill. I asked what it was for and was told it was for the rye bread. Apparently rye is more expensive than white, wheat, sour dough, muffins, biscuits ?... I have never been charged extra for rye bread- anywhere. It's a shame because for as good as the food was the upcharge for rye toast left a bad taste in my mouth. Best place to eat breakfast in North Myrtle Beach. The service is AMAZING and fast and the food is delicious. I've never had lunch there but can personally recommend the waffle with fruit and the cream cheese topping. My guy gets the grilled chicken tenders breakfast and raves about it. Aside from the quite tasty very berry waffle drizzled with cream cheese icing and topped with whipped cream and my side of corned beef hash, the place wasn't really all that impressive for breakfast. Perhaps because it was busy when we came but service was quite slow. It seems like they get a lot of regulars in here. But for simple breakfast orders that my husband and I placed, it took over 30 minutes to prepare. He got a plate with scrambled eggs, pancakes (plain), and bacon. I didn't really get what the delay was about. I liked my food and our waitress left me a whole carafe of coffee which was nice and needed since we didn't really see her much. They were understaffed but kept seating more people. Perhaps, if there was a little rotation to allow for the kitchen and the dining staff to get a little breather then they wouldn't be so slow? Had breakfast at Plantation Pancake House in Myrtle Beach. Maggie was our waitress. She was funny, helpful and patient . It's a super cute place it gave me Camelot Vibes inside. So many choices, the menu is 5 pages. I had the French toast combo with a side of strawberries. But it came with sausage or bacon and 2 eggs. -My bestie had Steak and eggs with home fries. And other friend had Bacon omelette with pancakes. It all looked soooo good. That Cinnamon French toast was really good with strawberries and glaze, whip creme and hot syrup. I only tried a little but they were good just with the cinnamon. My bestie let me try her meal...home fries were okay, steak needed more seasoning. Had breakfast here this morning with my husband. Hubby had pancakes and eggs. Both good, coffee hot and they put a pitcher of both hot water for my tea and coffee for him on the table. Our waitress Athena was friendly and helpful. The manager also stopped by our table. We were seated quickly with no wait on a Saturday morning. I had the best omelet ever. It came out super fast (probably because we were the only ones here), our server was super nice and considerate, and the food was amazing. I thought it might be high time for me to identify a good breakfast/diner place in my neighborhood. Closest to me is Plantation Pancake House. Next closest to me is Dinos Pancake House. I found out they are owned by the same couple--Tom and Barbie Kandris--a Greek guy who owned a diner in NY who moved down here and married a local girl named Barbie. So come to America, marry a girl named Barbie, and start a burgeoning pancake monopoly! Talk about the American Dream! Plantation is where I started, though, on my quest. The decor is dated. Like they could film the next season of Stranger Things here. (If you don't get that pop culture reference, then the decor probably isn't going to bother you--in fact it will probably look like how your dining room or rec room looks now). Decor never bothers me anyway--EXCEPT--i'm not wafer thin like I used to be, and I was led to a booth that was nailed to the wall with about 14 inches of space between the table and the back rest. I don't want to be reminded that I need to lose a few pounds while I'm reading menu items that use words like "drenched in butter" and "smothered in gravy". My server Danielle brought me a pot of coffee and there was a small pyramid of cream in a dish. Thank you. I hate altering my coffee habits because there isn't enough cream. I have coffee with my cream--that being a contributing factor to my Booth Guilt. I ordered a Plantation Omelette with hash browns, but I wanted a pancake too, and Danielle helpfully pointed out on the menu that it stated OR not AND and so I asked Danielle to make it an AND and that it was Sunday morning and I just couldn't muster the energy to worry about the up charge. A man, especially a man who doesn't feel exactly comfortable in a tight fitting booth, should be able to wantonly enjoy his omelette, hash browns AND a buttermilk pancake, right? I enjoyed my breakfast. I slurped down probably a quart or so of coffee and the omelette was satisfyingly dry throughout--I've had too many omelettes that have a weird amount of juice in them and that always gives me the willies. I contemplated the intricacies of life peering into my pancake and thought maybe there was a Fibonacci Sequence contained within the swirls of the pancake batter and thought, again, that physics is beautiful to behold. I thought my coupon, which said Plantation Pancake House was for here and was very tersely told it wasn't for them, but the one in Surfside with the same name at check out. Even though the waitress acknowledged the coupon when we ordered. Then when asked if they give local of senior discounts we were told they did. We asked him (assume the owner) if he could apply one and were told as it was already rung up he couldn't do anything. We voiced our displeasure that he didn't ask if we were local before running the credit card and he was not receptive to criticism or to crediting the order and re-ringing with a discount. Wait time is either immediate seating or 5-10 minutes waiting. And it's only can happen on weekends. As for me, it was just once, 5 minutes wait. On vacation to visit Mother, we stopped in here for breakfast. I ordered the American cheese omelette with home fries and pancakes. The omelette was fine, nothing special. Home fires were tasty but a very small portion. The pancake was good but it is stated on the menu that you get 2 pancakes instead of toast or a biscuit. I did t make a fuss but I won't be back. The food was absolutely delicious!! We went for Father's Day because this is my dad's favorite and it still hasn't let us down! I got 4 silver dollar pancakes with bacon. The pancakes are soooooooo good. They are the perfect amount of fluffy. The syrup is good. The home fries with sausage gravy were amazing. The seasoning on the home fries was really good, lil spicy but so good. The mix bowl with everything in it was crazy good! The service was pretty good. The hostess who may be the owner was super ecstatic and friendly when I walked in. The total definition of southern hospitality. The waitress wasn't overly friendly but she did a good job. The iced coffee was a little strange because it had a spicy, not as in hot but as in similar to a chai taste after it. All in all, it's still a favorite and I highly recommend going here. What a great find in North Myrtle Beach! It was late and we were tired of bar food, plus main street was crowded from the SOS shag week people in town. (If we knew about shag week we probably would have stayed a different week.) Our bodies were off normal dining schedules since we arrived late the first night from up north so we got into the habit of eating dinner late (didn't eat the first night until after checking into our hotel). Plus we would spend mornings at the beach and not eat lunch until late afternoon. So by the time we wanted dinner at 10/11 PM, we searched Yelp and called this place to confirm if they are open. Perfect hours for us - they don't open until 10 PM! The staff were very nice and the food was good and reasonably priced. I opted for non-breakfast food and my friend ordered breakfast. At the waitress' suggestion I had the grilled ham and cheese - the only down side is that the cheese seemed to be processed or velveeta, while I would have preferred better quality cheese. read more
