You can't beat the selection and you certainly can't beat the prices. I have always, ALWAYS found what I've needed here. I just purchased a beautiful large planter for the living room palm tree. I noticed they're also carrying lighter weight composite planters that look amazingly real. That's a plus for me as I have a 100 step climb to my home from the driveway so I think twice before I buy heavy objects to take home. I was really pleased with the selection of pots they carried. If you want to buy clay, ceramic, concrete, and what not, they have it all! Some are really gorgeous... with colors as beautiful as earth. The owner was a pleasure meeting. He was really knowledgeable in all plant related questions. I needed two large planters for two olive trees. I read the good reviews and decided to see if they were accurate. I was not disappointed. The selection of planters was great. Robert, the owner, was quite helpful. Not only were the planters well priced, so was the price of the soil that I purchased there. The delivery went smoothly. The 26 inch concrete planters were extremely heavy. The person (Donny) who delivered the planters placed them in the challenging spots that I selected without causing any damage to the planters or my property. Also good prices, knowledgeable staff, and made for a fun evening. Decided to purchase planters as a way to add color to our newly remodled backyard. I love this place! They have a HUGE selection of pots and planters of all shapes and sizes, wall hangings, decorative benches, bird baths, etc for your yard. They also have a great selection of succulents and plants. I was surprised to see lots of televera options as well, for a reasonable price. Usually that stuff is expensive in local stores. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, although I will say, I have had to wait for someone to ring me up twice at the check out. That is the only negative, which is relatively minor. I also suggest NOT wearing flip flops when you come here because they are on a dirt lot. read more

I just returned from driving from Valley Center to El Cajon to visit this business, a full hours drive and a third of a tank of gas. I noticed immediately that they had Talavera pottery from Mexico. I love this stuff and after looking at the choices I went looking for the only person on duty who was watering the succulents. I asked if he could help me, he finished the watering and went over the Talavera racks. I explained that I had a large Baker's Rack that I wanted to fill with Talavera. I had a picture on my phone and we started looking at the choices. Suddenly this man walked away with no excuse me, no explanation....just left. I noticed that he started helping another customer, he also helped what was no doubt a contractor, and then a third couple that all arrived after I did At no time as this man went by me did he even acknowledge I was there. I waited well over half an hour. At that point another couple arrived and I decided that I would just leave. As I got in my truck he was no more that 30 ft. away from me and didn't even look my direction. So I left with the $500 or so that I had planed on spending for this project. read more

I am a clueless gardener and just getting started so i am not able to really compare prices/stock all that much, but i was very impressed with the selection of beautiful pots. I was recommended to go here from a friend so never bothered with Home Depot or Armstrong - would rather shop at a local place anyway than a chain. Some really gorgeous pieces at very fair prices. His plant selection is low at the moment but should have a lot more within the next two weeks. We will be returning! read more

This place is just down the road from my house and I have passed by it more times than I can count. After deciding to use planters and succulents in my garden, I went searching on Craigslist for some inexpensive options to no avail. I stopped by this past Saturday to have a look around and found a planter that was on sale and very affordable for its size and quality. The selection is outstanding. They have plenty of succulents to choose from. I went to a number of nurseries in North County after my visit and still came back to purchase more succulents from PP because of the price and quality of the plants. All in all, my garden looks completely different today and I didn't go broke doing it. read more

Why write another 5-start review when there are already 68 posted? Because these guys did something that I can't freaking believe. They delivered four, very large concrete pots to my house. It's tricky to get in my backyard. They spent half an hour maneuvering these things into my back yard. As they were doing it, I mentioned how grateful I was that they didn't just drop the pots in my front yard and take off, something a Lakeside Tree Nursery (who shall remain unnamed) did to me when delivering four fairly large trees/bushes the day before. As the guys from Planters Paradise were moving the pots, I mentioned how the tree nursery had dumped the trees in my driveway and took off. Get this: After the guys moved the pots in place, they moved my four large trees/bushes off my driveway and into my backyard. Who does that? And they didn't charge me an extra nickel. It took them about 30 extra minutes of their time to do it, and it was hard work. I am still in shock that they would do something so difficult without a second thought. They saw that I was stuck between a rock and hard place with those large trees/bushes sitting on my driveway and they jumped into action and moved them. read more

This has been my favorite, and then became my only, place to buy pots for years. I can't believe I haven't written a review till now! Robert continually adds more shelving and more space for more pots. My feeling is that if you can't find the pot you need here then it probably does not exist! I am especially happy that he always has some pots on sale at good markdowns. A few years ago he started carrying succulents and cacti as well. Several of my favorite unusual plants have come from Planter Paradise. The only thing to remember: he is closed on Monday and Tuesday! read more

Not only does Robert have the greatest selection of pots and the best prices, he also has a nice selection of garden fountains. We've already bought 2 from him, he takes care to make sure they are balanced (so that the water tumbles evenly from all sides) and is willing to work with you on special request for size/color. The other two reviewers were telling the truth. The owner is very friendly and helpful. I'm pretty sure the prices are the best in San Diego. There are a large selection of planters and colors and shapes. As the other reviewer said they are very aesthetically pleasing. I would also say that overall the quality seemed higher than Canyon Pottery which is the other place I went to. However, if you are looking for small pots Canyon pottery had some nice ones. But larger pots are definitely better here. They even have purple. read more
