I went twice in one week for breakfast. I had plate dos the first time. Tasty! One of my friends had the chicken pesto sandwich. According to her, the chicken was a bit tough and the first bite was cold. She thought it would be hot; however, all the ingredients were cold. That must mean that everything is refrigerated until they assemble the sandwich. Her suggestion is to have tomatoes at room temperature to preserve a better flavor. The pesto was flavorless. The second time I went with another friend and had the Yelp deal to redeem. This time, I had plate uno. It was like something I could make at home. And the price is awesome! The potatoes are nice and the tostada is greasy, just like I prefer. The cafe con leche and the fresh squeezed orange juice are delicious. The service was friendly. Plate is just a mile from my house and I go here at least 2x a week. It is a small and inexpensive breakfast and lunch restaurant. I come for breakfast and sit with my dog on the nice outdoor deck. The owner is very nice and loves dogs. Then I pick up the lunch special 1 or 2x a week. I can call in the order from 3 minutes away and it's ready when I arrive. I had lunch here recently and it was very good. I had a salad but I'm not eating meat and asked for it without the chicken. The owner (I think?) offered to make it with a garden burger instead, which was really sweet of them. The salad was good- greens themselves were unremarkable (romaine) and I'd like to see spinach or something available too, but the walnuts, cheese, apples and dressing were delicious. My boyfriend had some kind of quesadillas, which he liked. It seems like there's not too many vegetarian options here but if they can substitute things then there's more variety than immediately apparent. A tiny little place with awesome food. I came here because of the great reviews. I was surprised with it at first because it reminded me of a Jamba juice. However, they have a full kitchen and they are friendly. The food quality was impressive. I had cafe con leche, scrambled eggs with ham, potatoes, and Cuban bread. Bike Tech guys told us we could head across the street for a nice breakfast. The place is small and quaint; no typical Miami Pretentiousness here! The guys inside were super friendly! My husband and I both had a breakfast burrito (me with ham, him with turkey). They were just the right size (not too big) and tasted yummy. I had a cafe con leche, which was made to my liking for $1.75! We also tested and bought a bowl of carrot and sweet potato soup for lunch. I could have used a bit more sweet from the sweet potato, but still good! And finally had a 'yoyi,' smoothie of milk, banana, and peanut butter. This was good, but would have been even better with less ice, and more fruit. The prices were EXCELLENT and I would definitely head back for seconds. Relatively cheap, fast, and wholesome food: this is somewhere I definitely recommend. Great place for a quick lunch, but not necessarily a place to eat in since there is VERY limited seating. Went here for lunch during work and it was delicious. I had the chicken pesto on whole wheat pasta with a side salad. The chicken was prepared perfectly with just enough pesto. The salad was very small with only carrots and lettuce, but it was the perfect size to go with a heavy pasta dish. Everyday of the week they have a new special of the day which all seem to be very healthy options. I will definitely be back to try their next special of the day. The dining area is pretty small with some seating available outside. We didn't have a problem finding a place to sit, but it's not a place for a big group. read more

Honestly, based on the reviews for this place, I was expecting so much more. Not that anything was bad necessarily, just that it was surprisingly average when yelp usually has a pretty good track record of directing me to incredible places when there is an average rating of 4 stars or above. I tried the Royal India wrap which came with curry chicken, coconut brown rice, and baby greens. It tasted wildly mundane. An oxymoronic dish deserves an oxymoronic explanation. My friend had a tuna wrap and it was good, but nothing more. I also tried a caprese salad and that was disturbingly ordinary too. The tomatoes weren't that fresh, the mozzarella tasted old and stale, and there was an inordinate amount of unwelcome lettuce. I love going to a real Italian place and trying REAL fresh mozzarella (preferably buratta) with nothing more than fresh tomatoes, salt, and olive oil. This caprese had a lot of bells and whistles around it to distract you from the fact that the primary ingredients were average. It's a decent place to have a wrap as a quick lunch, but this place in no way deserves this kind of rating. We need more samples of different people on yelp. A huge problem is that these hipster type restaurants are a part of the current foodie craze and a large amount of yelp's population is filled with hipsters and foodies and not enough real people. I want to know what real people think about this place. But, real people can be scarce on yelp unfortunately. What do the Cubans of little Havana think? What do the Haitians of Little Haiti think about this place? What about the native Miamians? They're not here on yelp for the most part, unfortunately. We have to come to terms with the fact that the biggest number of people on Miami yelp are actually people who have not even lived here too long. New York and California transplants currently living in Miami who miss their hipster food at home are more likely to review Miami establishments than the actual real people of Miami who have lived here for generations. I want to know what their opinion is in addition to the hipsters and foodies. It would be nice if there could be an effective advertising initiative to get more real people writing on yelp to help hold businesses accountable and praise exemplary ones. read more

so since my first review months ago i have consistently ordered from plate almost weekly. i love having a healthy food option for lunch. they use low fat ingredients like light mayo, ground turkey, whole wheat pasta and brown rice. the people are super nice every time i order they are always willing to make changes or give suggestions. i still have never been in person but really they have been a saving grace from my lunchtime delivery dining rut. most recently i had the lean turkey sandwich on a wheat baguette. it was soo good with honey mustard and cranberries for an extra kick of flavor!! and the spaghetti vegetable bolognese (with wheat pasta and ground turkey) was delicious, a little low on salt, but hey thats the whole point of health food. lol. anyways, i totally recommend this place for an alternative to the usual fattening places and chain restaurants. and hello 3 ppl had lunch for 19, i thought it was a mistake, but no, its that affordable!! read more

Not a huge fan. I chose their "new" Greek chicken wrap. Very simplistic; came with tomatoes, onions, chicken, tsastiki sauce, and lettuce. It was very underwhelming. The chicken was flavorless and the tsastiki sauce which was supposed to be the star, was anything but. Not to mention the people that work there all looked miserable; probably because they were tired of eating underwhelming sandwiches. The silver lining was the guava and cream cheese bread pudding!
