They are very very impacted and we had to wait months for an appointment. But we were having warts treated so we were okay to wait- if its a cancer concern Id go elsewhere. NP Jill was great with the patient and after 6 appointments - the warts were finally gone. The only problem other than the long wait time between appointments was that she continued to try to send in a prescription for a medication that no pharmacy stocks or could order. Good luck scheduling an appointment. I took the morning off from work and waited in the waiting room over 45 mins. After waiting 4 months I had to reschedule my appointment because I needed to go to work and I couldn't wait any longer. I would not recommend this office. The Nurse Practitioner I saw was unqualified in my opinion. She did about a 30 second skin check. I had to point out to her a couple of pre cancerous lesions. I waited MONTHS for an apptioent for a skin check. I chose to wait because I was established there. I made the appointment as a cash pay appt and while waiting for the appointment- I got insurance about 2 weeks ago- so they would not let me cash pay for the appt and did not give a care that I was very concerned about some changes on my skin in fact the receptionist said "I hope you have a great day" with a big smile as I left in tears. read more

The staff is always cheery and efficient and very helpful. I see Rebecca McAlpin, she is wonderful thorough and listens and responds to any question she always explains in a way I understand. The wait is always minimal for me both in the waiting room and exam room. I know she's reviewed my file before she sees me because she asks me about old details. She has taken care of multiple things I was concerned and the treated area is always taken care of. I'm positive the other professionals there are equally attentive. First time here. Lots of people in waiting room bit I still got into a room within 30 minutes. Lots of seats and I believe there was magazine and brochures to read while you wait. Everyone is really nice so far as I have witnessed. They did ask if I would like to strip down to boxers to get a full body check up since I was a first time patient at a dermatology office. I said no def no. So I am not sure how that whole process is. There was 2 ladies that accompanied the dr. It made me a little uncomfortable so I asked what they were doing in there. I guess it is her assistants. I have never witnessed that many extra people in a room before. You might be okay with it, me not so much but they stayed. They were nice just awkward, for me. I went to two other dermatology groups before finding Plateroti Dermatology. The previous two clinics did absolutely nothing to help my condition. The first would freeze the problem and the next asked me what the previous clinic had done and then did the same. Plateroti Dermatology was a breath of fresh air. Their protocol of performing a full body scan found problems even I didn't know about until pointed out with their rigorous photography. AND, I was able to return home with a prescription that actually works. I grew a beard during COVID because my face was getting really bad. Two weeks after starting the prescription, my face heeled enough to shave off the beard. Last week I had a Mohs procedure performed. I was surprised at the size of the surgery site but now it is all stitched up and looking pretty darn good. Stitches come out this week. Surgery was performed in three steps on the same day with very little pain. Dr. Plateroti runs a tight ship, has a great team and I love the results. I totally recommend the entire team for any dermatological need you might have. read more

If you are older or have preexisting conditions placing you at risk for COVID, do NOT use this provider. In terms of infection prevention they do aa good job but for one MAJOR mistake. They don't require all their patients to wear masks! Worse still, when I complained about it, I was told if I were uncomfortable, I could wait in my car! Not the unmasked patients, but the patients wearing a mask who are "uncomfortable"! I'm retirement age, use a cane, am a recent cancer survivor with other health issues. If I were to be sickened by COVID, it's unlikely I'd survive. Yet I have to come in to register, then turn around and again navigate the curb with my cane to get back to my car and wait? All so that this soccer mom with her pimple-faced teenager in tow could sit there unmasked and yapping away, joking with staff? This is a medical facility first and foremost. I know they greedily want to be seen as the North County's premier aesthetic treatment spa to bring in big bucks. But they also have older patients like me who have histories of skin cancer and probably lots of other medical issues. Shouldn't those without masks be the ones to wait in their cars? Indeed, shouldn't they be told that masks are required? Period. I cancelled my last appointment. My health means more to me than apparently it does to them. Horrible experience! Waited 35 minutes to be seen (sadly average for a doctor's office) and then when I was, the assistant was very pleasant. However, Dr. Plateroti after removing the first mole, when I asked him to remove the second of two moles I was in there for (which was located in my shirt collar area), looked put out and said "Why don't you just grow your hair longer"? FYI this mole was irritated by my shirt collar with or without short hair. I don't know if he was just feeling lazy or doesn't think women should have short hair but I certainly won't be back. I got the impression he felt he was doing me a favor by doing his job. Even if you have a serious medical condition, no one cares and they refuse to return calls. Malpractice much! Incompetent - no customer/patient service. I would do anything to avoid going back to this office. They have been nothing but a headache. Initially I made an appointment to have my moles/sun spots checked. The original appointment was about 6 weeks out. They then rescheduled for another 4 weeks out after that. I suspect this was because I was a new patient. The appointment was quick. Literally was in and out within 30 minutes. Had my moles checked and one removed...not because it looked bad...just worse than the others. The PA (or whoever actually did the examine and mole removal) was perfectly adequate. Then the billing process began. I am literally on my 7th bill....it isn't like I'm not paying the bill, but there just seems to be more and more charges. I've contacted the billing department for clarification...which they can't provide over the phone. Promises to return the call with an explanation go unfulfilled. The only return correspondence I receive is another bill....with threats of collection. If you want to be in and out, overcharged and sent numerous bills....this is the office for you! read more

My family has been going to Dr. Plateroti for over 3 years. I called recently to make an appointment to discover that they have removed us from their practice as customers. Apparently they sent me a bill for a measly $80.00 (or $88, I can't recall) that according to them I did not pay. They indicated that a certified letter was also sent to me trying to collect and that the letter was returned as not being received. I NEVER received anything of the sort. I pay ALL my bills and if I had an outstanding invoice, I certainly would have paid it and I would not have returned certified letter. This is not who I am. I offered to settle the bill today if they could provide me with an invoice and confirm I definitely owed the amount, they down right refused and proceeded to tell me that I was removed from their practice, they made me feel as if I should be put in prison. This makes me very sad because I liked their doctors and never had a complaint about their services. Make sure you pay your invoice even if it's $5.00 or you will be cut off:( !!!! read more
