    Cacio e Pepe pasta!
    Amy D.

This was our first stop during our visit to Milan this weekend! We had just arrived, we were starving, it was close to the hotel, and I had seen all of the great reviews on Yelp, so we decided to try it! So glad we did. At first it was a little touch and go, you know your traditional rude Italian service staff, but to be fair we did arrive at 2:30pm and they were going to be closing at 3:00pm so they were anxious to close. After the typical huffing and puffing about our late arrival we were finally seated. I will say that I guess they weren't that anxious since they still sat 4 more parties that arrived after us. After a while service became way better and the woman running it was perfectly pleasant and chatty. I've noticed this throughout Italy that the staff is so cold at the beginning but then they really warm up. The food: we ordered two different dishes: the cacio-e-pepe and a zucchini flower tomato-based pasta and both were heavenly. Quality ingredients. The pasta is freshly made and perfectly al dente. Cute little place and would be adorable in the warmer months to sit outside with your pasta. We will be back!!

saffron and speck ravioli filled with mozzarella and spinach

We came here for the pasta, so I had the saffron and speck ravioli filled with mozzarella and spinach, and I tried a lot of the spaghetti carbonara. We had the tiramisu, as well. I don't want to sound like I'm exaggerating, but the ravioli was absolutely delicious. The creamy saffron sauce was amazing and well-absorbed by the ravioli. The ravioli had a nice al dente bite to them. The filling was tasty. And the plentiful speck added a nice rich and salty flavor. Just great. While I liked the carbonara sauce, the spaghetti was a bit undercooked as a few strands were hard. Still tasty, but a little boring. The tiramisu was a really nice end to the meal. Creamy but not too light. Not too sweet either. Maybe it could've used more cake, though. For that ravioli alone, I'd definitely eat here again. Though, the tiramisu was good too.

This place is great.. The food quality was outstanding, service couldn't have been more helpful, and price was cheap. They only have pasta on the menu but if you like pasta.. awesome place. You will need to have a reservation. We will definitely be back.

Our first day in Italy and the kids were yearning for some Italian pasta, both kids are huge fans of the comfort staple. I looked for a place near our Hotel that served home made pasta and Platina showed some really good reviews. The place did not disappoint, we showed up on a Saturday evening at the open without a reservation and were really lucky to get a table. After we sat down many people were turned away without reservations. We had the octopus special as an appetizer and I think I commented to my wife that this must be the best I've ever had, not chewy, smoky, flavorful just perfect. The ravioli, pasta carbonara and other dishes we had were all fantastic, the staff was very attentive and friendly. We would definitely repeat.

The pasta was mouth watering good that we are there two nights in a row! Definitely recommend the carbonara it was my favorite.

Pasta is a definite when in Italy and Platino did not disappoint. Went there for lunch after seeing great reviews. The restaurant is a trendy little spot with both indoor and outdoor seating. the wine and drink selection was extensive. We ended up getting the seafood pasta and pasta carbonara. The waiter was both helpful and accommodating with our limited Italian. My favorite was the seafood pasta. It was both filling and delicious, with hints of white wine in the sauce. The pasta carbonara was simple and classic. Both were suggestions from our waiter and he didn't let us down. Would go back again the next time we're in Milan.

Excellent service! The menu was diverse and everything we ordered was delicious. We particularly enjoyed the cacio e pepe and the tiramisu.

I walked straight up from Milan central station to come to this - while passing cathedrals and all, you can come here (4 mile walk). Try not to pass by. Sign isn't too obvious. Ambiance: very casual. We were provided menus that were quite simple. Two types of pasta were available (long or short) and they were able to be prepared a few different ways. I had the long pasta which resembled Alfredo noodles with black pepper and parmesan cheese. The dish was simple and the pasta was fresh. They offer a short list of beer and wine to compliment the pasta. During my time there I saw many people attempting to get in but the place was full. Several parties waited to get a seat. The service was good, the food came out quick and was exactly what I needed before my reservation. The food was also inexpensive. I noticed a disclaimer when I exited that this location is "not a restaurant" but serves a sampling of a larger restaurant. 4.5 stars!

The restaurant is on a side street near the busy (with tourists from every corner of the globe) Duomo area. It is easy to find. It has a charming decor (though it is a bit darker and more romantically appointed than other area restaurants, as well as having an underground and almost bordello vibe). It is also larger than it might appear, as there are both ground floor, as well as a lower eating area seemingly for larger groups, as well as used during busier times. We have only eaten on the ground floor level. The menu offers ample variety, but is not what one would term extensive. It tends upscale, though not extremely costly (arguably average to slightly above average fine restaurant prices), but portions are on the smaller side. They have a specialty in dishes augmented and emphasizing the use of truffles, of which we have sampled several times. Over the course of our several meals we've had every pasta and risotto offered with truffle shavings. Of the appetizers we can recommend the meatballs, which are delicate and small, the bacon wrapped shrimp, and the octopus. Their desserts are also not the run of the mill and warrant tastings. All and all, we will always repeat here when in Milan. Frankly, though their Yelp average score is pretty good, we were surprised they do not have a higher Yelp average score.
