Hopefully, I am reviewing the correct location in Brera in Milan Italy. I was here a few weeks ago. I was walking around Brera, not entirely sure what restaurant to pick. Too many restaurants that offer almost the same menu. Not all of them are listed on Yelp. So I had to be creative: it was hot in Milan, so I wanted to pick a resto with a/c. For instance, I enjoyed the food at nearby Casa Fiori Chiari, a few walking minutes away. August is a tricky month to visit Italy as lot of restaurants are closed for weeks during summer. Anyways, somehow, I was drawn to this place. I wanted to get a bisteca ala Florentina, seems they were know. For their steaks. The portion was too big just for me. Being it was my last night in Milan as I was heading to Cappadocia and Istanbul, I figured I would order what Milan was famous for: Osso Buco with a side of risotto Milanese. Wow! I am glad I picked this place because the flavor was very much on point! I enjoyed the risotto too. I'm glad I picked this place because they are known for their beef/steaks, it seems. The osso buco was fork tender and oozing with flavor! The serving was huge! I had to take my leftover to go, it was that good that I didn't want to waste my food. Service was prompt and server was friendly. Maybe it was an off night for the low reviews. But this is 5 stars in my book. read more

Overall very mediocre experience. This restaurant should not be considered an authentic Italian experience - but rather a very expensive tourist trap with not so great food. The server was kind, but clearly clashed with other workers and had verbal arguments in front of customers. Additionally multiple tables around us were frustrated - being unable to order or close out their bill. The over all ambiance was quite enjoyable, however the experience was over saturated with bad food and anything but customer service. read more

Amazing, amazing experience. After wandering the neighborhood, this restaurant was nestled in a corner spot across from two other choices. All three were 4.0 with over 1000+ reviews on Google. This spot advertised live music, so it won the vote. Loved the food (so fresh), service, and view from enclosed and heated patio. Thanks to our waiter, Claudio, who made the experience. He was helpful with suggestions and ensured we had everything we wanted. I had to laugh as I asked for olive oil, and he was already spinning around from another table with it in hand. Bravo! I had the Paccheri 'Nduja pasta with spicy red sauce. It was very good. There was a beautiful melting ball of stracciatella cheese (buffalo...Stracciatella di bufala). Even the basil leaf was wonderful. I cut into it and the aroma of basil was noticeable..fresh! Everything just tasted so delightful together. I had to soak up the remaining sauce with bread so as none went to waste. So, so good. I was thinking ice cream elsewhere, but Claudio suggested their desserts. I enjoyed the demonstration with their plate of 5 or 6 choices. I went with the Panna Cotta custard with fresh fruit. It was wonderful. Check out the picture, almost too pretty to eat. Loved the continued music theme in the presentation. Speaking of music, the live piano keyboard singer started at 8.30pm. It was a nice touch. This place came recommended to us by our hotel manager. It was a nice place located in a beautiful area but the food was not spectacular. We were disappointed by the octopus, we barely touched it. Our main entrees were good, the pasta was much better than the veal. The service was great and ambiance was lovely, it was still a lovely dinner, I would give it another chance. read more

A few months ago I've walked this very aisle and saw this restaurant full of people and staff showcasing their fine foods. Ironically, I've eaten at the restaurants around here and even the gelato shop where my phone remembers the WiFi password. This time around I've decided to finally give this popular place a shot. Don't forget all these places give free wine or Prosecco. Now, you need to have a personality to get attention at some of these places and if you're the shy type, you'd fit fine here as your waited on consistently. As for the food, I've had the pasta, I'm not the greatest fan of pasta but I throughly enjoyed it. Don't get creative or fancy with special requests. Stick to basics. Cheers! read more

I was just strolling and found this place and chose it because it wasn't that busy. The servers were all very nice... I took a while to order because I couldn't decide. The server recommended the risotto with veal. It came out very quickly which worried me. The veal itself was okaaaay... but the gravy it was covered in wasn't good... and it wasn't hot. The risotto had clearly just been nuked. It was steaming hot. When I finally tasted it, it tasted like something that had sat uncovered in the fridge for too long. I do believe that both of these items were precooked (awhile ago) and just reheated and brought to me. Sometimes reheated is okay... but these items just sucked. It is in the Brera area so if you sit outside there will be continuous food traffic. This was one dish and I don't want to bash this place. We spent 2 days walking around this area and yesterday we found this place to be very busy so on our second day we thought to give it a try. I loved that they put us in the covered, enclosed, heated seating area right on the street. It made it fun to people watch as we were enjoying our food. After we were seated, we were brought sesame bread with our selection of wine. The menu is extensive but and they offered several specials, the risotto dish was one of the specials and we were glad we chose to order it because it was delicious! We also went very old school and ordered the lasagna which was also very tasty. My husband and I thought the staff were very efficient, nice and helpful. My husband and I stopped here while walking around looking for a good restaurant to have some Apertivo for dinner. Our flight had landed in Milan this morning and we were tired and wanted to eat something quick. This restaurant was close to our hotel and had the best looking apertivo selection of the restaurants around this area. We sat down at each had a negroni and they brought us this board that had a small selection of meat stuffed with cheese, cheese stuffed with cheese, bruschetta and other decent little bites. I wouldn't say any of the food really blew me away. It was pretty good, but you can find higher quality meats throughout Italy. The negroni was well prepared and had a good amount of alcohol in it. If you are looking for a quick apertivo place, then I would recommend this place, but don't expect to have the best meal of your life. read more

The restaurant is in a gorgeous area in Milan called Brera, would recommend everybody who visits Milan to go eat out in this area once or at least take a walk through the small roads where plenty of restaurants are one after another! Most restaurants had their menus outside, which is helpful to decide which place to pick and you get an idea of the price range. My husband & I picked the restaurant hosteria Della musica, we ordered each a pizza (Quattro formaggi & funghi) which tasted good and the waiters were friendly. When we asked for the check there was a 3,50€ fee per person included for setting the table, so that would be something you should be aware of when you decide to go there. We wanted to have to leftovers packed to go, which we never received. That's why I only give 3 stars, all in all though it was a good food experience, but didn't wow us either. read more

I gave one star for this restaurant is because our spaghetti wasn't cook through, called the waiter over, he said that's Italy style, I told him you faking kidding me? We been in Italy for a week in Rome, Florence, Pisa, Venice, and Milan. We been having spaghetti everyday at different restaurants, we never have this kind of uncooked style of spaghetti like he mentioned. Very bad service, won't admit false. What a refreshing stop after a long flight from nyc to milan.. the staff here are all incredibly friendly, all speak english and are friendly to usa. This saturday we had a connetion flight through Milano, so we decided to walk around the city but the weather was always raining. We got wet and took shelter in this restaurant. Before we sat i asked about the heater on the outside table and the waiter told me the heater was working. Then we sat and ordered meals. When i asked for the opening the heater, the waiter said "no we can't open it." Therefore we wanted a table inside but the problem is they arranged us a table next to the toilets while almost all table was empty. Also only 1or 2 table had the rezervation sign on it. The waiters were always staring at our plates and at least 3 or 4 times they asked if we finished. The most surprising part is when we specified our discomfort and i said that "when the rain go, we will leave" NOONE apolized. Insead of this a guy who stands on the door talked very cheesy! We don't understand their aim, we thought even the racism. Please never go this place! They are rude and the also pizza is under average. read more

This was a terrible experience. The food was so bad, we only took a couple of bites of each dish. We had a seafood salad and it was awful - the shrimp wasn't cleaned properly and they were old. The risotto was soupy and bland and the gnocchi wasn't even fresh, it was from a package. The pesto was more grey than green. When we tried to fix the situation by telling the maitre d' our experience, he defensively replied that the food was good (without him even trying it) and it was our problem. Furthermore, when I wrote a review on Facebook, the official restaurant account told us, in very poor English, that we should just eat at McDonald's! I think an unprofessional response like that just emphasizes my point of how there are better places to eat than this! read more
