In all honesty, I don't know what I would have done without Raquel. Even as a strong type A Bride who is extremely organized and prepared, Raquel asked the questions I didn't think of to FULLY prepare for the wedding. After the first meeting, it was like a huge weight was lifted off our shoulders. She brought an incredible sense of calm, professionalism, and organization to our wedding day, exactly what we needed. She also shared her industry knowledge for ideas, recommendations, and proper etiquette. She kept in contact with all our vendors before the wedding, days leading up to the wedding, and the day of the wedding. Raquel truly took the time to learn my husband and I, to fully understand what was important to US on our wedding day. Her preparation ensured all our vendors worked seamlessly together. Raquel managed to be everywhere at once, always a step ahead, always with a smile. She not only managed my vendors, but she also managed those guests that every bride and groom is worried about but obligated to invite (sorry not sorry). Platinum Affairs came recommended to us by Jericho Terrace as a preferred vendor as we made preparations for our wedding. We worked with Raquel on our invitations, mirrored seating chart and mirrored welcome sign. Overall Platinum Affairs executed on all assigned tasks and everything came out nicely. However, during the process, we felt like we needed to follow up and stay on top of them. Raquel seemed overwhelmed and maybe a bit burnt out. The Meetings We met with Raquel a few times over the process to finalize details and make payments. She was not pushy and honored our requests. We wanted simple invites, and new the style of mirrors we wanted. Over the course of 6-8 months, each visit she forgot who we were and we had to reintroduce ourselves. It took away from the experience. The Service Our Invites were ordered about 8 months from our wedding date and arrived about 6 months from our wedding date. I was a bit annoyed because our original choice was out of print and we were told this one was in stock and affordable. After making our order and reviewing our proofs, Raquel and her team called to let us know we had to decide immediately on our proofs because the vendor was running low on the card stock and may not be able to print our order. Our mirror and seating chart were ordered at the same time. We had to provide the text, names and fonts about 10 days prior to the event. We actually followed up with them because no one contacted us. Once we were in touch, everything was finalized. One nit to pick, they do not alphabetize the seating charts and you do need to review your proofs. I noticed a few formatting errors when reviewing my own. Card box was just as we asked. No complaints there. Verdict Platinum Affairs was okay. Service was good, but not great. Prices were reasonable. read more

My fiancé purchased our wedding invitations from here and besides the fact that they charged a disgusting amount of money for the invitations, the worker blatantly lied to us and told us that the envelopes (which we paid extra for) would only require a simple postage stamp to send out and after taking them to the post office I found out that they'd have to be sent out as parcels because of the envelope size and now I'm out 700 dollars to just send my invitations out to our guests. It's bad enough wedding planning is already a financial nightmare but to be taken advantage of by these businesses that are already profiting on us immensely and then deceiving us to make a sale is completely uncalled for. Between our perfect invitations, Signs used for the venue, and the most beautiful mirror seating chart we could have asked for! To start- our invitations were so amazing. My husband and I had such a hard time making decisions for this but Raquel helped above and beyond what anyone could have. She even went to pick up our envelopes herself since they would not be ready when we needed to pick them up since we sent our list in late! On top of that she made sure the mirror was perfect and the signs she even created herself. It was an awful experience getting my wedding invitations here. 1) Raquel tricked us into creating a 'custom' invitation. Once it was all worked out & she calculated the price, it was DOUBLE what we originally told her we could pay! 2) Every step of the process took weeks longer than promised. And every time i called to check status, Raquel didn't remember who I was, and she sounded so annoyed that I was even calling. 4) A name was misspelled on the first proof and instead of apologizing, Raquel blamed the invitation company for the mistake and said it had nothing to do with her. (This mistake added another month to the process...) 3) Raquel constantly tried to push their other products & services on us. Unfortunately we ended up using her overpriced calligrapher, who made a huge spelling mistake on the first envelope I saw, which infuriated me. I had to sit down in the store and go through 150 envelopes to look for other mistakes before I left. I tell all the brides I know to STAY AWAY from here. First off, PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM FOR OCCASIONS! I got engaged in August 2016 and was in the process of planning for my upcoming wedding ( 6/18/17). At the beginning, it seemed like we were on board and Nicole (who was the one running the place) was pretty efficient and would respond to e-mails in a timely manner. Unfortunately during the process of printing my invitations, she was going through a lot of family emergencies and was not easy to contact in the office. I had to continuously follow up to see the status of the wedding invitations, I had to follow up regarding favors. I am a very proactive person so being on top of a company seemed too much. We had issues regarding invitations, they promised we would get 125 invitations and we were ripped off. Since we needed to send out more invitations and in a timely manner, we tried to contact this company but never obtained a response. We felt like we were harassing them since we constantly called, I also e-mailed Nicole directly. Due to lack of reliability, my parents went to the printing company they use directly to speak to someone to see if they would be of any assistance. The new manager Raquel, is by far the worst. She lacks professionalism and does not display great customer service . She didn't want to cooperate, now almost 2 weeks away she got back to us about the invitations and wanted to charge us an additional $100 something for them. My parents went to pick them up and were going to throw it out in the garbage in front of her since they are of no use now. On top of that, I had a balance for the favors which I knew of but she wanted it in CASH when I was at work. I would make a payment over the phone in the past and they would accept it. She exudes a level of patience unlike any other vendor with whom I've worked; if I needed a 2-hour appointment, she sat with me until all of my questions were answered so that I could leave the studio feeling confident that my vision would come to life. She guided me through each decision, falling back on her previous experience with other brides. If I needed to make a tweak or alteration to my orders, she was easy to catch via phone or e-mail. Platinum Affairs had made our dream come true experience, a nightmare. This establishment was recommended to me by someone I know so I thought it would be the best place for my daughter and me to get her invitations. Frankly - it wasn't. Since day one, Raquel had given us the run around about pricing, production status and ETA of when our invitations would be in. She would blame the production company on everything, never putting any blame on herself or her business. This showed lack of experience, carelessness and lack of responsibility. Not only did Raquel not do the job she was hired to do, there were zero acknowledgements when we verbally and electronically discussed our concerns and distress. Raquel never called back or emailed us when she said she would. Nothing was done in a timely manner. This doesn't go over well when you are planning a wedding! We met Raquel at the Nassau Coliseum Wedding Expo. She seemed nice and my fiancee liked her selection. We scheduled an appointment for 2:00pm this past Saturday. We arrived a few minutes early and Raquel was with another client. She didn't look up from her work or say hello to us. This went on for 15 minutes so went to get coffee and when we came back, there was no change. I was very angry since we booked this appointment months in advance and were on time. My fiancee said to look on the positive side that she is giving her customers a lot of attention. She could have looked up and addressed us by name and welcomed us to her store. At 2:45 she came over to show us some things. She seemed nice and knowledgeable but not very warm. She didn't seem excited to help us. Then after 10 minutes she said she doesnt like to hover and said she would come back to check on us. We never saw her again. She did have assistants in the store who were nice but just didn't have the knowledge base we needed. I would recommend using platinum affairs now that it is under new ownership with Raquel. When I first ordered my invitations for my recent wedding (7/21/17) Nicole was running the store. Nicole was dealing with some family issues and stopped responding to emails and phone calls. I was extremely frustrated and kept calling and calling. At the time there was another employee who called me back and told me my invitations were never ordered. At this point Raquel took over and ordered my invitations on rush and made sure I had them in time. She was very understanding of my frustration and did everything in her power to make sure I felt better about the situation. She has completely re organized the store and her pricing is fantastic. My invitations were beautiful and I ended up renting and buying and few more items from her. Her favors are beautiful as well as reasonably priced. I would never go back to this place again. First of all they are not even in Huntington anymore, they moved to Plainview which they failed to tell their customers. I ordered something from them back in March and it stated on the order form to pick up a couple of days before the event I had, after 5:00 p.m. They never said I had to call to make an appointment but I called the Saturday before and there was a voicemail saying they moved, never said where and said to leave a message they would call back in a day. I called during business hours too. The next day they never called me back so i left an email. Now it was Monday at 12 p.m., they still did not get back to me with an email or call. I had called thier sister store and they advised they moved to Plainview and he would call the manager at the store to get back to me. Finally they emailed me back saying i needed to make an appointment. I called them back at another number they had no answer. I messaged them back made the appointment and the manager confirmed the appointment, The day I was supposed to pick up the items someone else called me leaves me a message and says I need to make an appointment. I call her back, told her I already made an appointment. Now it is the day I pick up my items, the store is still a mess becasue they just moved in. I had lollipops, mind you the labeling on the ribbon was rubbed off and the wishing well i had from them was dirty, I said I wanted them to waive my balance that I owed. They wouldnt let me. I said I had to jump through hoops to get a hold of you and no one ever called me back until the day someone left me a message to tell me to make an appt which i already made. Plus how would I know that they didnt just close up shop and take my money, since they did not tell their customers in advance that they moved. Overall they have bad customer service!! They advised that they werent telling anymore where they moved. They lied and said they didnt know they were moving until two days before my pick-up.
