The worst doctor ever is dr richard blanks he bought two of my surgeries he told me I was completely fine when he forgot to attach my muscle and then a year later, he attached it to the wrong place on my body and continued to tell me I was fine. Sean Richland PA listens and cares about the patients. He goes the extra mile for quality care of all types of orthopedic needs. He believes in noninvasive treatments like physical therapy first and not rush into surgery like so many orthopedic doctors do.Because of Sean Richland, I no longer need surgery and avoided out of pocket injections and costly stem cells ( which would not have worked in my condition). My mom's primary care physician referred her to Platinum Orthopaedics for right knee pain. Dr. Grieshober did studies and immediately diagnosed her with a right meniscus tear. He was thorough and empathetic. She had a right knee arthroscopy performed today. My mom is doing better than expected and can't stop talking about the kind hearted care she received. Let me reassure you both the office staff and surgery center staff are compassionate and competent. Thank you Dr. Grieshober and staff for turning a stressful situation into a more pleasant one. The Good: - Docs have the skills. Dr. John Kelley did the arthroscopy on my left knee 6 years ago and it went great. I was back to work (with crutches and naprosyn) in 24 hours with no complications. - Excellent pre-op and post op instructions The Bad - Scheduling. They are so backed up, they scheduled my current needed knee replacement surgery a week after my authorization expiration date. - Poor communication. I've tried calling them 8 times, and have gotten 3 return phone calls many days after. When I didn't get through, I got a voice mail that says he'll call back in 24 hours but he won't. Why does this happen? I just don't know. The Skinny: Getting a call back may be a pain in the neck, but the docs can fix your pain in the neck. My health plan assigned me this Orthopedic group. It's a shame I can't give a better rating. So when I'm feeling great and want to feel unimportant, I give them a call to bring my spirits down. But having had Dr. Kelley in the past do work on my knee gives me hope that my future knee replacement will go well. Will update this review later. read more

I had 2 surgeries done on me by Richard Blanks for "both acl's torn in both knee's" and after my surgeries I found out from another doctor that my acl was never torn and doctor blanks messed up my meniscus during operation and unnecessarily replaced both my acl's for an insurance payout. I am 21 years old now and completely lost my ability to walk normally because of the trust I put in this doctor and it has been 2 years since I had those surgeries. Please save yourself and find a different doctor, I lost my sports career, my mobility, and my mother is traumatized from seeing me in this condition. I am extremely EMBARRASSED on behalf of this company and have no idea how they are still in business. I don't know if it is just hard to find good employees since the pandemic or what, but this office must be extremely desperate because at this point it is pathetic. SANDRA is the "manager" and used the most condescending, unprofessional, disrespectful, ghetto language over the phone. Everyone so far has been beyond clueless and so was Sandra but at least the other people in the office were nice. I have a fractured tibia and fibula, my first appointment with this shit show of an office was on March 8th. Dr Phan said I would get my boot THE FOLLOWING WEEK. TODAY IS MAY 4TH, still don't have a boot. When we call in to find out what the status is and why I haven't received the boot yet, all the receptionists have said at this point is that they are sorry and the DR forgot to order it, it will get done ASAP." Call another week later and they say, "Oh it was canceled for some reason, we will figure it out." Call another few days later and they say, "Hmm no it wasn't canceled it is still being ordered." Call ANOTHER week later and still nothing. The only thing consistent with this place and its staff is the inconsistent excuses and runarounds they give you Everytime we ask to speak to a manager or a supervisor or the Dr's assistant, the joke is on us because we never get a call back EVERY SINGLE PERSON HERE TAKES ABSOLUTELY 0 RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR OWN NEGLIGENCE AND LAZINESS. IT'S ALL A "OH I DON'T KNOW, I DON'T SEE ANY NOTES" AND THEY WILL JUST GIVE YOU THE RUNAROUND. You know an office staff is pure garbage when you're leaving a 1-star review AND HAVEN'T EVEN MADE IT IN YET. I was scheduled for an urgent appointment on 5/7 at 1:30 by my doctors office for a fractured C7. They managed to cancel my appointment AND give it to someone else because my ins. authorization wasn't showing up in their system on Weds at around 4pm. The authorization went through at 5. My doctors office TOLD THEM that the authorization was currently being worked on and that they'd have it within the hour. Nope. Canceled. Then was rescheduled for TODAY, 5/11 at 4. I just called to confirm todays appt because i had heard nothing from them and sure enough, I don't even EXIST. Furthermore, the incompetent, matter-of-fact attitude wench that picked up the phone tells me "I don't know who YOU think scheduled you but, the doctor is only in on Thursdays." So i asked her " are you suggesting that im lying about todays appointment?" And her response was "well, i mean...". I told her that entire office was the worst shitshow I've ever seen and hung up. BY LAW they are required to see me within 72 hours of receiving an urgent authorization. Which they physically received Wednesday, yet they canceled my 5/7 appointment, rescheduled me for today because they were considering today 72 hours, and now theres no appointment! And in the meantime, I'm going on 8 days with a fracture that no one in that office gives shit about. For being healthcare workers, your complete lack of competence and empathy is DISGUSTING. It's hard to make appointments. They call last minute to cancel the appointment and they have no doctors to take over after being waited for month and half. I had no sick pay and had to go from long distance so I asked for my test results after being there twice and they didn't give me the results. I had to go there all the way and spend $40 co pay for third time plus not getting paid at work and after one and half month waiting to find out everything is ok! I have never been through this type of situation before. read more

i would not recommend this office as there are so many red flags with their protocol even after speaking to the office manager linda. they have 1 introductory office suite that is renovated and grand. but after surgery, that's when the protocols fall apart. there is a different office suite down the hall ... a few of the red warning signs : the office receptionist straight out lie & tell you the follow-up can only be with the physician's assistance instead of the doctor. follow-up will be in dirty room unless you ask that they clean it up before you enter. different receptionists will call repeatedly to ask the same questions. other occurrences for my case, they didn't have my surgery report in my follow-up with the physician assistant. so many questions went unanswered. then i had to contact the office manager multiple days before she would return my call to address these concerns. then to be offered a different appointment by the same office manager, i've had to wait +1.5 hrs with my "confirmed 10:30am"... update: it's been a week since the last doctor appointment. doctor said he recommends PT and would submit the request to insurance. i call into insurance to confirm that there has been no request submitted. i call into platinum orthopedic to find out from receptionist that no request was submitted, and that the doctor wont be in until next week. the office also wont be able to help, nor sean (physician's assistant) can help put in a request. so how many more weeks will have to pass before getting assistance in my recovery? i highly would recommend seeking care elsewhere. read more

I KNEW I HAD FAILED BROKEN NECK SURGERY by my first post- surgery appointment with Dr. Gary Rosenberg on August 10, 2021, (surgery was at Orange County Global on July 27,2021) and I know it was 100% surgeon neglect before I even left the hospital--I begged them not to send me home without help, and ROSENBERG NEVER ONCE CAME TO SEE ME and I asked for him. He never returned a single call the first week I was vomiting and other concerns. I don't know if I was ever fixed correctly. 2 months later, still fighting to get fixed with a doctor I'm comfortable with after all this TRAUMA platinum orthopedics (office staff impossible to get a hold of, on hold forever and passed around) Then I made the mistake of having a second opinion with Dr. Andrew RICHTER in the same practice, and he was an hour and a half late to the appointment and then rushed my appointment, before I knew it, he was sending in his assistant trying to schedule another surgery when I didn't even have my questions answered. Everything about my experience here was perfect. I was so blown away especially after seeing all the negative reviews. I had an appointment for my son and needed to reschedule which was no problem. I never had to wait on the phone and staff was really nice with a quick new appointment date. Once we arrived for our appointment it took 10 minutes and we were in an exam room. We met with Jaymee and she was so upbeat, friendly, warm, engaging and super informative. Loved her! The technician took an X-ray and within minutes we found out all was good. However, had the X-ray not been such good news I would have had complete confidence in the office and doctor. Everything was super efficient and I was impressed. The entire experience was about 30 minutes. No wait time in lobby, no wait time in exam room. Great staff and an excellent experience. read more

Dr. Peter Pryko ans Richard Blanks should have their medical licenses under review, board action taken, and hopefully have their licenses to practice medicine REVOKED! Dr. Pryko gave me 10 steroid injections in my hip (three, rarely four is protocol), NOT in a sterile environment or under live X-Ray or ultrasound. I went in for mild hip pain and ended up with a destroyed hip due to Dr. Pryko's incompetence. Then Dr. Pryko and Dr. Blanks tried to con me out of $1500 to give me PRP on a destroyed hip joint! Anyone who knows even just a little bit about stem cell injections, PRP is to POTENTIALLY give very temporary pain relief to an area for mild arthritis or after a procedure and will not do anything for a joint that is destroyed! I thought it was weird that Dr. Blanks would not make eye contact with me when he was discussing PRP with me; it is because he knew he was doing something wrong, urging a procedure that he knew would not work for me, and opening his exposure to malpractice! Two SHADY doctors. This is called RETAIL MEDICINE - where the bottom line is to make money over best care practices for the patients!! I also hold documents from their office and my insurance company proving INSURANCE FRUAD!! Billing my insurance for services not given to me, then billing me as a "new patient" three years after my first visit and after two years of being there every three months for the steroid injections. I am NOT a new patient! But, I guess that earned Dr. Pryko and his office a few extra hundred dollars from my insurance. I also have pictures of Dr. Pryko giving me an injection after the power had gone out in the interior office room, it was pitch black, so he had me use the light from my cell phone to do the injection. He said "I have done so many of these, I can do them with my eyes closed." Until the needle falls on the floor...I have pictures of that, too. Also, the doctors notes in my file reflects that there was no power in the building, because they could not fax over my prescriptions to the pharmacy. Finally, Dr. Pryko has misspellings in his bio for Platinum Orthopedics. Apparently, he practices "join replacement," which I am assuming is supposed to be "joint replacement." If that is his attention to detail, I would NEVER allow, nor trust, him to ever do replace the biggest joint in my body! If you are referred to Dr. Pryko, Dr. Blanks, or Platinum Orthopedics, RUN!! Ask for another referral, we have so many good doctors here in Orange County, you DO NOT need to use this RETAIL MEDICINE practice or these two doctors that care more about making a few extra bucks by committing malpractice and insurance fraud, than providing you with the best care. The most unprofessional medical office I have ever been to. Dr. Blanks has no bed side manner, no professionalism and is probably criminally liable for his direct actions. This medical office should not be operational. For the safety of yourself and your family I strongly advice seeking treatment elsewhere. Dr. Blanks performed a knee arthroscopy (small incisions on knee where he puts a little camera inside with the operating tools) on my knee. The surgery seemed to go well. As I entered the operating room Dr. Blanks was outside of the OR texting on his phone. He did not greet me or speak to me at all. After the completion of my operation Dr. Blanks had me on crutches for 8 weeks. Many of my friends and colleagues have walked out of their Knee Arthroscopy surgery. At the 8 week mark, Dr. Blanks cancelled my follow up appointment and the earliest I could reschedule was 2 weeks away. This cancellation caused me to be me on crutches for a total of ten weeks. At my follow up (once it finally happened), Dr. Blanks was disrespectful, distant and frankly made me feel like this incident of the cancelled appointment was my own fault. After his half hazard exam of my left leg Dr. Blanks told me I was good to go. It was only after this that I asked him to address some swelling in my leg. After I was adamant on him examining my leg and foot, he encouraged me to check myself into an ER. At that time in a Fountain Valley Hospital, I received an Ultrasound which indicated that due to the lack of motion I had developed a blood clot in my lower leg called a DVT (Deep vein thrombosis). I have never struggled from heart, blood or circulation issues. This was caused by Dr. Blanks lack of regard for his patient. After the DVT diagnoses, Dr. Blanks has never followed up or spoken to me, except one time over the phone. I never received physical therapy or even had a follow up to check in on my progress following the surgery. I felt that once the blood clot was discovered, I was being rushed out the door as soon as possible. Seems fishy, right? Following the diagnoses of the DVT (Blood clot), Dr. Blanks refused to be the Doctor to give me a prescription to the blood thinner I now needed to take for six months. Dr. Blanks and his office made me feel that these medical issues unrelated to the orthopedics was no longer their concern. As a 24 year old graduate student living on the west coast totally on my own with no family this office gave me no sense of security and disregarded me as a human being and as a patient. Dr. Blanks has a disrespectful condescending demeanor and his office staff lacks organization, respect and focus. A doctor's office is only as good as their leadership and Dr. Blanks is the worst medical professional I have ever experienced. He has brought me nothing but pain and stress. I was also not given transparent billing information and had many of my medical payments sent to collections from Dr. Blanks' office. Several of the bills I was not explicitly given or mailed. After following up via phone, I was told everything had already been sent to collections. It took me almost a year to pay off my medical debt for just the orthopedic work alone, not including the cost of crutches, a trip to the ER, an ultrasound and the cost of blood thinners for 6 months. For a 24 year old young man finishing his graduate degree, this was just as much a traumatic experience emotional as it was financially. Now, four year later, I have another knee injury and Platinum Ortho is demanding that I pay out of pocket to transfer my own medical records to myself. Platinum Orthopedics should probably be investigated for my case as well as many others I have read throughout the years. Every person's experience is different and perhaps I was just an unlucky one, but please consider my review when deciding to use Dr. Blanks. For me, I will likely be paying the price for using Platinum Orthopedics for the rest of my life and no one in this country should have to do that. read more

My feedback is more so on the organization of the practice and the front desk staff. Super long wait times to speak with someone on the phone. The front desk ladies will say they will follow up with you and call you back but they will not. Not a single time out of 5 did i receive a follow-up. Referral and authorization times are the slowest I've ever experienced. Doctors visits themselves are super quick. I can't fully speak about the doctors bc I didn't have any procedures or surgeries. All I can say is be prepared for a headache dealing with the practice! read more

I'm planning on having a major surgery there however I have great fear because when you call expect to be on hold at best 30 mins but realistically it is an hour plus. You go through push this button then another button and you hear you are number 17 to speak to someone, I can understand maybe one time but that is not the case it is every time I call. I'm in a lot of pain now and it takes about a week or more to get a refill of pain medication then they only fill for 7 days needless to say I'm very fearful that after surgery they will not be there for help or leave you in pain and have to wait an hour or longer to speak to someone. It is obvious that they need more receptionist to handle the calls. They are poorly managed. Their office manager Linda is a joke, I don't know how she can run the office when she can't even handle enough receptionist to be on the frontline of the business, that definitely reflects how poorly the rest must be, but contrary to some of the other reviews the PA's are awesome especially Sean but my previous surgeries have gone well with the Doctors I have had. There is something going on with them because 2 of the good doctors are no longer there. I agree with the negative reviews on Dr Blanks I feel his medical credentials should be reviewed. The office seems to be expanding but the service is going down the drain rapidly, I question why the name changes and doctors leaving. If they can't handle my pain before the surgery I fear they won't handle postoperative pain. It never use to be that way. Only 1 time did I have to wait to see the doctor or PA for a long time, most of the time it's less than 10 minutes and I appreciate that. My biggest complaint's is trying to call in and also scheduling for surgery, because they cancelled my surgery 2 times and it was canceled hours before surgery, I can see one time but 2 times it doesn't fly for me. They are constantly changing surgery coordinator's who don't communicate with you. The person who is in charge of the office staff is not doing their job and it shows. I would think the doctors or whoever is in charge of the corporation would correct that before the practice collapses. The frontline of the practice is failing and I feel very sorry for the receptionist she can only handle so many calls per hour and the need is there for more receptionist because when you do get to speak to someone how can you not be frustrated do to the fact you already have been on hold for an hour. Someone is failing at their job. I will update this review for the good or the bad and I hope it's for the good otherwise I will be looking for another orthopedic group as there is other orthopedics in the same building or in the the front building and the reason I haven't changed is because the doctors who previously have done my surgeries were awesome but the declining communication puts a lot of fear in me and maybe there is no longer any good doctors practicing in this orthopedic group. read more

Dr peter pyrko is the worst dr there is. My mom cant walk hence why she needs hip surgery and this idiot wanted her to walk and when she couldnt he decide to refuse service to her. He was so rude and mean about her condition! He made her cry telling her she was going to die because she COULDNT walk! Dont go to this dr unless you want him to make you cry ill be reporting this dr to the BBB and as well our insurance and our PCP. He thought he was dealing with anyone but his face changed colors real quick when he found out that im from the US ARMY. I saw Dr. Lee for my ankle fracture just once during my first appointment. The many appointments after, I saw her pa, Jamie. No objections here, Jamie was fantastic and I liked seeing her, but would have liked to see the doctor more than just once. Appointments can be a little tricky but the staff is quick to response and get you in. They can definitely be trained to be better and more courteous, but they're still good. The person who worked on my disability forms, made a mistake initially and it was so hard to get a hold of her, but once I did, she fixed her mistake right away. The person who takes you to get your xray is very nice and knows his stuff (I believe there are 2 people, the older gentleman is great). Now, my last appointment with Jamie was last January. Recently I contacted the office to go in for a follow-up and get and idea of where I stand. During the last visit, I saw another pa unfortunately, despite having asked to see Jamie, and he said something completely different than what she told me and wanted to order an mri of my foot. What?! So, I'm going to see another doctor for a second opinion. Overall, this is a good office but it could be so much better than what it is now. read more

Dr Lee I had no issues with she was in and out with minutes. However, upon leaving I requested from Itzel the receptionist a after visit summary for my accident insurance. I sat in the corner and couldn't be seen. I waited about 10-15 minutes listening to her and the other reception laugh and have a non work conversation. I finally stand up and ask for the document and she says I'm almost done. She literally calls me a few minutes later with a word document that says my son was seen in the office. Quick 1-2 sentence. For Anaheim office Positive: Doctor Khan, PA Sadia, and MA Vivian: very personable, nice, speak plain language, and know how to listen. Negative: front staff lost all of my paperwork. Apologetic, but delayed me until I wrote everything again. Appointment date pushed back because of insurance company. Story: went in early March with bursitis. Was getting a quick appointment until they learned my insurance; I was then given an appointment an appointment weeks away (21st). [There are other reviews that confirm this practice of giving further-away appoints for Cal-Optima.] I did the paperwork while I was there (so I wouldn't have to come early and do it today). Then, they asked me to step aside (while making the appointment) so they could "quickly check someone out." That person became four. I had to interject: "you were helping *ME* first. You asked to check one person out, but now I'm waiting for four? No, I waited and shouldn't have: finish with me." She made a sour face and asked the line if she could "stop to finish with him [me]." Jump to today: they lost my paperwork and made me wait while I finished a new packet. [Ashley E.] I protested, reminding them: this was their fault, not mine: I have a disbled wife waiting downstairs for me and we weren't anticipating such a delay. They took me back in less than 2 minutes. From there, it was better. The M.A., Vivian, was very nice even offered to write-out the paperwork (I have nerve damage in hands). Very nice. Then Adrian took me to X-ray. 5hen the P.A., Sadia, came in l. Also very nice, listened to what I said carefully. Then, Dr. Khan came in. Very nice, amiable, listens well. We discussed options. The best option was taken: no unnecessary drugs, situation is resolving itself, so let the body work. Surgery if necessary, but currently: no action needed other than a brace and limited motion. Did not push pain drugs. The front staff can't tell me what happened to my paperwork. HIPAA-telated PHI\PII is "out there" without knowing where it is. My identity was stolen a couple of years ago, so I really have a problem with this. Vivian said she'd report this to her manager (I believe her); the manager never came to see me. So the doctor's rating suffers because the staff f*cked up. read more

Lee, M.D. is the most professional doctor and I was not worried at all knowing she was doing my surgery. I broke my ankle and had to have an Open Reduction Internal Fixation surgery. Everything went well and I even got my stiches taken out and my new blue cast today. Laura L. is also very professional and friendly. She always has the nicest smile and such a great personality. She did an amazing job removing my stiches and setting me up with my new blue cast. It's always a pleasure to see her and everyone at Platinum Orthopaedics! My mom had an appointment with an assistant ADINA CHO who was not doing through exam on my mom's feet. She did not ask if my mom tried physical therapy or used medication to alleviate the foot pain. All she did was to send my mom to get X-Ray and concluded that everything was clear and sent my mom to do physical therapy for 2 months. Dr Pykro is the rudest man I've ever met. And to think he is a doctor is disturbing. The office staff was nice but very unorganized. I was patient and after 3 1/2 hours of having xrays then sitting my pain was getting bad. Then Dr Pykro came in with a condescending attitude, dismissive, and argumentative when I tried to speak. He didn't examine me just looked at xrays and felt I was depressed and needed help that nothing was wrong with me. My back surgeon told me to go to a hip dr to get it examined. I had showed him that my hip was stiff and then he took my foot and forced it into a position that hurt!! I started to cry. We are in a pandemic it's a time to be kind to one another. Great experience! I was in and out in less than an hour and Ms. Castillo was amazing and super kind! Couldn't have had a better experience.

I am a 67 year old female, who's knee was extremely bad. I went in and saw Dr. Peter Pyrko who would be my doctor. He counseled me to get a total knee replacement, which I badly needed as it was getting hard for me to walk. He was very thorough and I knew exactly what to expect. It has been five months since surgery and my total knee replacement was very successful, as I am totally free from pain and can move freely! I will in the future be needing another knee replacement for my other knee. I will be going back to Peter Pyrko/Orthopedics and would recommend him to my Family and loved ones. The Good... They remodeled and the waiting room wait time is MUCH BETTER than the first visits a couple of years ago. Now about 10 minutes, Then about 2 or do hours!! Very maddening and VERY disrespectful of their patient's time! The Bad... ABSOLUTELY NO FOLLOW UP, FOLLOW THRU, or CALL BACKS when you leave messages. My husband needs shoulder surgery but first needs an MRI so they can see exactly what's going on. It's been 4 weeks and 6 calls to them to get the referral. NOTHING. Finally just cancelled the follow up appointment due to their lack of follow up and disrespecting someone's medical condition. Very unprofessional and inept staff. I ran a medical center for 10 years. This is NOT how it's done. If I find a legal entity to report them to, I will. Note to Office: Fire your staff and hire competent people. THIS could be the reason there's NO WAIT TIME these days! People don't want to be treated this way and therefore... Won't return. Btw... REALLY interesting company photo on Yelp here.
