They are responsible, respond almost immediately, patient with customers... there is definitely an attentive rapport when having to contact Mr. Mike O'Malley. They only get 1 star because they actually returned our pool cover, if I could I'd give them zero. Nothing but overpriced bad service. They were given preauthorization up until a certain amount and because we asked them to fix something, they charged the amount to fix it without any kind of authorization or discussion about what it took to fix and how much it would cost. Communication was for the most part non-existent, a response to an email regarding the preauthorization took approximately a month to respond. The only reason that it was even responded to was because of our cancellation for their bad service. read more

One star is truly being generous. I have never worked with a less professional pool service than this one. They truly charge top dollar, their customer service is awful and their communication is even worse. They came to open my pool and then notified me their equipment was broken. They never told me when they were coming back, charged me over $2,000 to do so and left my pool filthy with pieces of garbage floating in the bottom. Very very disappointed! With all the services on the North Shore I highly recommend using another one. read more

I was referred to Platinum Pools by my realtor in Hinsdale, IL. I agree with the other reviewer...it was a very weird experience. At first the company was very responsive. I mean it was great! They asked for my property survey, which I sent over right away. Then they scheduled a site visit, which they showed up on time for and were very personable. We talked about where we would want to put the in-ground pool, and then I was told that "the design team" would put something together and send over to me. (If this level of communication and customer service continued this way this would be a 5-star review instead of a 1-star). Here is where things got weird. I got ghosted!!! I followed up with the Sales Director via email. No response. Then I sent another email. No response. Then I called and got his voice mail...you guessed it...no response! So finally, 4 weeks into the process of hearing nothing back I send one final email asking if the company chose to not take my business. No response. So beware...first impressions are not always accurate here. Maybe if you have a large project (huge in-ground pool, spa, water fountains, fire) they will actually call you back after the initial on-site meeting. Or maybe not. read more

Crazy and confusing experience. We were interviewing several pool companies and platinum made an initial great impression. Very nice, detailed, prompt, etc. they were at the top of our list. Once we narrowed it down to 4 companies we liked, we asked each to see a pool that they had built so we could assess quality. They told me no problem and they'd get back to me in a few days. Nearly 2 weeks pass with no word so I check back. They said they are having trouble finding one to see (strange since I was told they built lots of pools in my area/surrounding areas) and needed more time. I said no problem and reiterated that it didn't have to be in my exact city. I just don't want to drive 2 hours lol. Close to a month passes (we've since contracted with someone else) and they call to tell me "still working on it." Lol...if it's this hard to get a potential customer to see the work that they do then that's a big red flag. I guess better to know up front than to be stuck with potentially poor work and poor communication after signing a contract. But I was pretty floored and disappointed. On a positive note, we saw other pool builders work and chose one who had not only great credentials and feedback but also beautiful looking pools (and builds a ton in our area so is very familiar with working with the city) read more

I have done several projects over the years but this plunge pool install with Platinum Poolcare has been the easiest by far. There were a lot of emails exchanged with Chris and Tyler during the design and planning phase and in the end they drew up exactly what I wanted. I had a construction meeting with the foreman, Bill who also met with my landscapers. That meeting was encouraging as everyone seemed to work well together. They started digging a couple weeks ago and since then it has been smooth sailing. The guys are here every day usually 20 minutes early and have worked rain or shine! They've even offered to help me when I've been working on projects in the front yard. They are respectful and kind. Viva told me he has been with Platinum over 20 years and that says a lot about a company. I cannot wait to see the finished pool next week. Thank you! read more

I think they are all right. We've used them for a number of years and are not looking for someone to replace them. They do mess up but when they do, they stand behind their work. One year they didn't winterize right and our heater froze and burst. They put in a new one so we got a new one rather than depreciated value of the old one. Granted if they hadn't done this, they would have lost our business. Prices are reasonable so I trust their numbers. Also some companies really try to sell you their services. Poolcare is not one of them. One year he just told me that the other company's product was more expensive than the one they plan to put. read more
