Walking in, two guys were behind the counter and a half eaten sandwich from Subway I think, with the paper spread out over the glass counter top, covering the merchandise and droppings of lettuce all over the paper. Not very attractive walking into any business. Went into the walk-in humidor and one guy decided to go in after me to start "adjusting" the temperature settings. OK? I guess you can't figure that out when you open the store for the day?... He asks if I need help. I say nope. So he still stays there adjusting settings. I'm annoyed because one, he's standing in front of the cigars I want to look at and two, he's monitoring ME. So I guess the huge sign on the door saying, "YOUR ON CAMERA" and the obvious security camera pointing at the door isn't enough security. So I inch over to the other side of the room. He's still in there. (the walk in humidor is as small as a two piece bathroom). He finally leaves and leaves the door wide-open and stands directly in front of the door watching me. So I guess this guy is "security of the cigars." And after all the messing around with your settings, now you leave the door wide open to let all the heat out! Yeah, I'm not stupid. So we go back in the next day and guess what? There's a box of Little Caesars pizza wide-open on the counter top with half eaten pizza. Get it together.

I'm a seasoned cigar vet that's been smoking for over 20 years and just wanted something new. After paying close to $100, I go home and decide to fire one up. I cut my cigar with a double guillotine and there's this long, fine, orange plastic strand that popped out. As I examined it further, I pulled it out and realized it was plastic deeply embedded in the filler. That strand was connected to another one so I pulled that one out too. I tossed it out of concern for my health and I immediately called the shop. No answer so I left a voice mail explaining what had happened and asked to be called back. That didn't happen. Given I had positive experiences up to this point, I thought I'd give them one more opportunity to address the situation. I called again and got someone on the phone. I explained that I found plastic embedded in one of the cigars I bought there and that I was concerned that maybe they were sold a bad batch from the manufacturer and it could be a health risk to other customers. The gentleman, although professional, did not come across as overly concerned. He just apologized and after I went into my concern about the health risk again, it wasn't until then that he asked me which cigar I bought. We then ended the call with not much else offered than his awareness. I don't expect a shop to throw out a whole box of cigars on account of my word but I do expect them to do something or atleast convey they are taking my concerns seriously. I thought at the very least, he could've offered a store credit, offered to inspect the box himself or something but the response I got was that he was unbothered. Maybe they will take action but the lack of certainty and dismissive tone is why I won't be returning. They give good service and everyone I have encountered in that shop has always been polite and respectful but this has created a trust issue. Getting bad batches is out of the shop's control but how a shop responds is. If you go here, I think you'll be fine but should you notice anything, flag it immediately.

I've been going to Platinum Vapes since I started vaping around 5 or so years ago. They have ALWAYS been nothing short of excellent. From the quality of their product, to the quality of their care. As soon as I walk through the doors, I get a sense of overall relaxation. Compared to when I've visited other vape stores or lounges, I would get a feeling more closely related to that feeling you get when you pass by that neighbor that you know doesn't like you. Even though they've never said it... Anyways, I can't always afford to vape like I would like to, which is why I like their "2 for 1" or "Half Priced Bins". And also very importantly, I never feel like they're trying to sell me on something. I have felt very uncomfortable in the past when at a different store and they 'hover'. Like a hunter about to take advantage of his prey's first mistake. I just generally really enjoy the welcoming/ homey feeling that I get when at Platinum. I've never had a bad experience there, with ANY of the staff there. I wanna thank Jennifer especially though for making an obvious & honest effort (very successfully), at caring for the customer and the profession. Or hobby, or whatever it is for each person. Thank you Platinum & thank you Jennifer & the rest of the staff. I can safely say that I will be continuing to have the Platinum Vapes in Newark be my ONLY vape supply store. It's been a week or so since I went to this place and got my atomizer and finally making a review. First thing first, right when me and my girlfriend walked in, we were greeted by the staff with positive attitudes. I've been vaping for a couple months now and was looking for my first mechanical mod. It was hard for me to decide since i was in a budget to get one. One of the staff came up to me and asked if I was looking looking for something particular and helped me right away on what I should do/get since I'm on a budget for a mod and i was pleased on the decision I made. Right after my purchase I was offered to get my i-Go W (dripping atomizer) build! As I watch them build I called one of my friend to come down the shop and get his rsst built. Thanks to Bryan for re-building my friend's rsst tank and to Daryl for building my igo w. Very well explained on how to build your own coils! You guys know your stuff! We were very pleased of the outcome! Finally getting the clouds we've been wanting to get! I have never been to a vape shop that would be patient enough to help us choose on their e juice flavors since my girlfriend like sweet fruity type of flavors. It was worth spending and hanging out at the shop! We are now enjoying our vape! Thanks to Platinum vapes for opening up a 2nd shop here closer to home! My first time here and definitely the first of many to come. Bryan was such a sweet heart and helped me with everything I needed, he was so great I just had to make a yelp just to write him a review. First I wanted something cute and decided to so I bought myself a cute little poldiac and two 18350 batteries to go with it. The omega atomizer looks sooooo cute on this little guy. Definitely my new baby. Bryan wrapped my coils for me and this little guy gets more vapor than my old hookah set. No more tobacco/shisha for me! The liquid selection here is phenomenon. Seems like there were hundreds of flavors to try from. I bought a bottle of Mother's Milk, I love the Love Potion, R&R's Vanilla Custard, and Omega by Space Jam. Everything went quickly and smoothly. I loved the vibe of the place, from the music to the TV, waterfall machine, and they even had a foosball table! I will definitely tell my friends about this place and be back soon. Platinum Vapes is the place to go whether you have a simple question or seeking help on how to get that next big cloud. Darreyle, Brian, and Davis are vape masterminds when it comes to rebuildables, they have shown me everything I know since I moved up from the standard pen and pro-tank. Katrina and Kayla are awesome both very knowledgeable on the products in the store and take their time answering questions and helping you find what product will work best for you. I have bought 4 mods, 2 atomizers, 1 tank, and an insane amount of juices from Platinum Vapes since the first time I walked in there last September and will continue to keeping going there. All in all they have had everything I have been looking for what that #1 thing that sold me on Platinums is the atmosphere whether your there to buy or just to hang out your always made welcome. In Newark visiting and found this shop through Yelp so we stopped by to check out the place. It looked pretty clean with a modern setup. This shop has plenty of juice to sample. I personally like the mint flavor. Darrel who works their provided great customer service and knows plenty about vapes. I love the selection they have in their showcase. They got love potion too so I bought 6 bottles then Brian rebuild my vape and was working great after! Shout out to him! Also thanks to the other guy working with him forget his name.
