I went in intending to take a quick look and ended up spending $50. I have been to Plato's all over and have never seen such a large variety of designer jeans. I bought a pair of Miss Me's with the tag for only $50. Surely the girl who sold them probably wasn't too happy about selling a $100 pair of jeans for $20. I agree with everybody about the customer service... I've worked retail before and it's common sense to greet your customers and kiss their ass. This is not the mentality of their workers though. The girls there have nasty attitudes; this is your JOB, you should probably smile a bit and make the most of it instead of being so rude to everyone else. I went in to the Brodie location today and was very disappointed. I've been in before to shop around but have never bought anything. They did have a much larger selection this time but the store is so small it was nearly impossible to look at things. I did try to sell some clothes this time (I've always gone to Buffalo Exchange). I was so annoyed with the way they did things I dont think I will ever go back. We had to wait 45 mins just for them to go through our stuff. One girl went through our bin, then another girl did to price everything and she ended up putting stuff back that the other one had picked out. Then they didnt give me back any of my hangers and I didnt realize it until I was half way home. I brought two necklaces there, they bought one and then I realized they went ahead and kept the other too with out me knowing. We were there for over an hour and a half and they only bought $11 worth of stuff. I will forever bring my stuff to Buffalo Exchange. They go through your clothes right in front of you so you can see what they are taking. They dont do it behind the counter so you cant see if they are taking clothes and not telling you about it. Buffalo exchange is much faster, they have multiple employees going through clothes and pricing them right away. If I could rate my experience with negative stars I would have. They take forever to go over your items and do not accept higher end clothing. Worst location I've ever been to and will not recommend or give service to this location/chain ever again. Honestly, you could find cuter, better quality items at Goodwill for half the price and hassle. read more

This place is the worst. Always a disorganized mess, always rude staff...took an entire bag of clothes, one item being never worn with tags still attached, and they told me they could not take anything "due to wear." I look in my bag and all items are still folded...she didn't even take them out. They always tell you it'll take over an hour when it only takes 10-15 minutes. Great selection of items, especially for men's casual button ups. Quite a few good brands like Ralph Lauren, J Crew, and Calvin Klein in pretty good condition. I picked up a nice button up myself and also sold some clothes of mine. Sales process was pretty painless, but naturally they weren't able to take everything. Overall good location I would say it is really cramped to walk around and shop in. read more

Fallon and Phoebe were incredible with customer service. Responsive when needed, but not too pushy, they made my wife, Chloe, feel very confident in her choices and eye for fashion. They laughed at our jokes and made us feel very welcome. Then my friend Sydney came in and we all had a grand time. They manage the store well, provide fair pricing, and a friendly atmosphere. surprised i haven't reviewed this before. i echo the sentiments of everyone else: rude employees, taking forever to sort through clothes, rejecting 5+ tops from nordstrom WITH TAGS because they're more than two seasons old blah blah. literally offered $12 for a tory clutch. uh?????? this is the same way it was when i shopped here 5+ years ago. where is the owner of this store? why are they not holding any of their employees accountable? my guess is pay is lower than average for this type of employment. who the hell gets motivated for less than $10 a hour? it's 2018 boss, get it together. read more

Horrible place to take your clothes. Told me all my things were worn (when they still had tags on them) also told me that it was out of style. My NEW clothes looked 100 times better then some of the worn out of date clothes they had on the racks. I will never come back to the location. read more

Highly dont reccomend this place to sell to. Took in 6 big bags and none they took and I had a lot of designer brands. They ended up taking a hat for 3.50 for a $30 hat... which we took back. Ended up missing a $50 hat that we took in! No way I didn't walk out of there unless they find it or pay me for it.... which I ended up getting money for it. But they put all your stuff at the front of the store for people to easily take! DONT COME HERE! This is the BEST platos closet I've ever been to! Their selection is so good I got things from nicer brands like all saints and BCBG that were in current style for such a good deal. There's a good mix between trendy and classic pieces here. I usually go to the north Austin locations but will definitely be going here now! Employees are friendly and lowkey. Very overpriced for a resale shop with clothes in garage sale (sometimes worse) condition. Went in on a weekday an hr after they opened, I was the only person shopping, and overheard the 'manager'? with a bad attitude saying to an employee that she "hates doing buys..never wants to see or buy clothes here again" and grunting when a potential seller walked in. She then proceeded to go over the top on the seller stating "we don't buy anything old or outdated or not namebrand, so your clothes has to be within this year" ??? Ok then why am I seeing rags hanging on racks that should've been initially declined? This woman was also rushing me to pay when I was still walking the aisles.. Seriously, there are PLENTY of better options in Austin to choose from than this place. read more

Decided to take my gently worn clothes to Platos. Read an article about comparing prices at different locations. I was offered over 100 dollars for my items at the north location. Now we have the south Austin location on Broadie...they offered 0 dollars saying that my clothes were to worn...I'll be heading back north on Monday for my 100 bucks. read more

Was super excited to try this place out however it ended in disappointment Walked in , was ignored and wasn't greeted by anyone , I figured maybe they are just super busy. Space is super crammed, hard to find anything, have to keep moving my shopping basket because the aisles were way to narrow and small everyone kept bumping into me or my stuff. Customers were also rude while I was trying to find a few things.. At checkout the employees looked miserable and didn't even care about me as a customer Won't be coming back. The worst resale place and worst customer service!! Went today 10/7/17..... my daughter had about 15 pairs of jeans, most name brand.... some frizzy hair,rude, girl....said the jeans wear " out of date" and that they were kids sizes!! Which was not true..... the jeans were less then three years old. Sizes 2/4. (Not kids size) In a sense, she implied that the clothes were " out of style " Guess Ambercrombie and Hollister are out of style! To the rude frizzy hair girl.. on Brodie... when you start dressing in style then you can judge, my daughters clothes. This a a great platos and a super clean store with good prices and lots of cool stuff to look at! Lots of name brands for great prices.

Checked out in a timely manner! It is a very clean and organized store. The only thing is that it can be hard to get a dressing room and they are always locked and sometimes the staff are off doing other things. But other than that the clothing is sooo affordable and up to date with the current trends! Definitely recommend this location. read more
