Brought in two large garbage bags full of clothes about 15 mins after opening. There were two people ahead of me and my buy was finished in 15 minutes. There is no way they went through and check well enough that quickly. They didn't take much and offered a very low price for it all. The lot included Lily Pulitzer and Chubbies (which they offered $2.80 for!). I expressed my displeasure at the experience and asked how they could have completed so quickly and was simply brushed off. No...don't sell your stuff here!! They only take casual/teen stuff. It would have been nice if they advised me of this when I dropped off my full load of items in dry cleaning bags. They should have took a quick glance and redirected me to a store that would take items such as mine. Also the staff was young and immature. If you're thinking about selling your clothes here, don't. You do not get your moneys worth whatsoever. They took four of my items I brought in, three of which still had the tags attached and one that had obviously never been worn and they only gave me $12! Definitely not going back. I guess I had higher expectations because of a place like this I used to go to when I lived out of state. Plato's is just way too picky and keep too much of the percentage of what they're selling your items for. You could get more for your clothes at a garage sale. read more

I no joke made a yelp account just so I could give this place a good review. Me and my friend needed to sell clothes, and although they were picky they priced them fairly and quickly. This location also has great employees. My friend lost her phone in the store and they were so nice they organized a search and rescued party. Absolutely mediocre. This place needs someone over the age of 16 working at the front desk. Last time I went in to sell some clothes I was told 20 minutes...after walking around the aisles for about 40 min I did not hear my name and stood up near the desk to wait (the place was very busy and I could tell they had several other bags of clothes to go through). After another 30 minutes of not being acknowledged while near the desk (including the girl who checked my bags of clothes in) someone finally noticed I was waiting around and let me know my clothes had been reviewed and we're ready. Spare yourself the cramped space, inexplicable buying process and unprofessional kids working here and go somewhere else. read more

Long story short is if you sell here a lot they think you steal those clothes to get money. I came here once and sold sold two miss me jeans and some holisters t-shirts and they bought them. I came back a week later and tried to sell a jacket and some t-shirts and they accused me of stealing miss mes because they found miss mes that I sold them last week in my bag. They planted those jeans in my bag because they bought those miss mes from me. I didn't try to sell any jeans that day so I know they planted those jeans in my bag. They planted those jeans in my bag because they wanted me to not try and sell clothes to them. They didn't press charges because they knew I didn't steal those jeans they just wanted me to be banned from the store. read more

Walked in and there was 3 young employees working, and on their phones. No one greeted me, or even bothered to look up. I walked in, set my heavy items down next to the counter, signed in and my receipt printed. Another customer walked in and they were only greeted once they stood at the counter also, but they at least got a word from the employees. Mind you, I'm still standing there waiting, and the girl finally turns around, doesn't look at me and says "you can set your things up here" and puts the receipt on the counter and turns around and starts gossiping again. I don't care if employees socialize, but if you're working where you need to attend to customers, have some respect to do so especially when they tried to smile and say hi several times. They also refused all of my stuff, saying it's "old, has wear and tear and is out of style" which I guess means that modest and fully covered clothing is out of style. I literally I got a few things just a couple months ago, fresh tags on them-- but browsing down the aisles there's literally crop tops, and tops that look like lingerie and jeans with tears on the backsides, shoes with dirt on them. Not to mention that when I got my clothes back, they were all thrown in and not even attempted to be folded or in a neat manner. So now if I even try to go elsewhere, they're going to need to be washed and folded again. If they're adults they need to start acting like adults in there and have better customer service. The standard for accepting clothing needs to be changed, because not everyone is going to fit the style of what one 'buyer' prefers. read more

The horrible attitude of the staff is what breaks it for me. I get that retail can be frustrating. I've worked in retail since I was 16 and at several different stores. Never, in my life, have I seen such a rude, intimidating staff. Even if you can't fake a smile, you at least have to be pleasant. The teenage girls who work this store (I've yet to see an adult or any semblance of a manager) are what would have been referred to in high school as "snobs". I am a college student and I get nervous when I know I'm about to encounter these teenage girls at the Flower Mound location. That's how bad it is. The company itself is pretty impressive as far as the principle of what they represent. That's my only reason for giving two stars instead of one. My recommendation is that if you live in the Flower Mound area, wait until you're in Denton one day to take your stuff to Plato's Closet on loop 288. Not only is the Denton staff ten times more friendly (in fact, their service more than exceeded my expectations), but they've always offered more money and been more open to different styles. That may be because it's a bigger store. Regardless, that's your best bet if you're looking to sell some clothes. read more

GREAT STORE AND STAFF! Love finding great deals. Always greeted when entering the store and if I can't find what I am looking for, a helpful staff member will always offer assistance and recommend alternatives. And I appreciated that when I brought in clothes and shoes that did not align with their age group, the were kind in saying that might clothes might be a better fit at another location called Clothes Mentor. Very busy, happening store and I applaud the staff and team members for your hard work and for providing a customer focused environment. read more

Had a lot of name brand boys clothes in great condition that I took in to sale. Told me it would be a 15 minute wait. As I was walking around killing time I did notice that there were some pretty nice girls clothes but the boys clothes were seriously lacking. Most of the things in there for men my boys would not even wear. After the fifteen minutes they let me know out of 40 items they wanted just 4 and would give me $11. I laughed and decided to donate because you get a lot more per item when you donate and write off on taxes. BIG waste of my time. read more

I wish I can give them 0.5 star. They don't notify consumer that "All clearance sales are final". They write it on the RECEIPT !! ARE YOU KIDDING ME.. How can you not notify consumer either verbally or just put a notice at the checkout. To me, it feels like SCAM !! Plus they are pricey. I was greeted and everyone was so friendly, I found exactly what I wanted and and even more and as I'm going to try things on I walk towards the employees. As soon as I make eye contact with one three of them walk away and one man finally offers me help. I brush this off, I know how it is to work in customer service. The moment I step out I see one girl look me over and start giggling. She diapers something to another employee who laughs and then offers me help. As I walk away to look at some shoes I hear "good lord I thought she'd rip it." Then I hear "I saw how her feet were shifting, the probably tried putting it on and couldn't!" Now I'm only 5'7, 130 pounds, and curvy with a very small waist. Then I hear comment about my hair and laughter and I just go to the furthest corner of the store, shove the clothes into a random rack and wait for them to go to the back so I could leave without humiliating myself even more. The clothes were amazing and cheap and I wish I could have bought them. Reconsider who you're employing next time. read more

Don't waste your time, or else go to the one in Plano. This place is horrible. I brought in a lot of really nice cothes my 22 yr old didn't want. She is 5'1" size 3-5 and buys her clothes at express, forever 21, aeropostale, etc. Some of the clothes were like new, in fact one pair of shorts didnt fit and had the tag still on from forever 21(just bought and very stylish). They had belts that were worn and nasty and I was given back the same kind of belts that were in better shape.They gave back jeans and skinny jeans and leggings that were in great condition, better than the worn, dingey stuff hanging up. I was shocked when they paid me 5 something for a few tees (that weren't any better than ones they gave back) and gave me everything else back--It was a lot of clothes. I brought in less clothes that were not as nice to the one in Plano and got over 20 dollars there. I honestly wonder if the snarky teens who work there (in Flower Mound) even looked at most of the clothes. I'm 58 yrs old and maybe they thought they were my clothes, rolled their eyes, snorted and pushed them aside. Don't waste your time, if you value it, or else go to the one in Plano if you can. read more
