I called this location in advance to plan for dropping off some stuff to sell. On the answering service there was a designated option you can click to learn the protocol on how to sell your stuff. Once you click , it tells you that they take walk ins every day all day-- and all you need is your drivers license. I showed up... drove 20 minutes..: and they said they're not buying anything until 5 pm. It was 2 pm. Oh and they don't accept anything on trash bags. 4 hours wasted. arrived around 4p from the Galleria area, was told they were on a break so I was told to wait until 5p for them to look at my items. After the took a total of 3 minutes to look at my items they told me they couldn't take anything. The gay black guy that works there has such an ugly attitude towards other people! Visted this location to sell a few items i had in bags but got a nasty remark from the guy saying oh well you can go buy a reusable bag from somewhere. I've to many Plato's Closet all across the country and this is the worst one that I've ever been to. I went into the store on a Monday at 3 PM with 2 bags of clothes to sell. They informed me that they were only buying for cash between 10 AM and 2 PM and that they will start buying again at 5 PM but only for store credit. This is a policy that exists at no other Plato's Closet in the country. Additionally, the guy that was working who told me this information had an attitude while speaking to me while I remained nice throughout our short interaction. It's the same guy that that is in the other Yelp reviews I just read here. Two days later, on Wednesday at 12 PM, I came back to try and sell and they said that they were only taking athletic shoes and namebrand purses. I've never heard of a Plato's closet only accepting selected items on a certain day. Of course I wasn't able to sell again because I had all of my clothes collected into two bags like anyone would when they're selling their clothes to Plato's Closet. I really think this location needs to get their stuff together. Their business practices seem inconsistent and poor quality, and the workers are less than nice to the customers, which is honestly the bare minimum when working in customer service. Definitely would never come back here again and wouldn't recommend anyone else to come here either. read more

Hello, I went to a platos today, Saturday around 1 pm to sell some clothes and wanted to buy some Uggs that were 15$. The worker told me to leave the Uggs and that I could get them later whenever I get my clothes that I was gonna sell and I listened to her believing I would get my Uggs later. I come back and try to ask for the Uggs just to find out they had already been sold to someone else. Its upsetting because these Uggs are expensive and I was going to buy them earlier but didn't just because I listened to the irresponsible worker that promised me they would be there later. They are straight up rude as hell, will turn you away immediately as you enter the door with you heavy load. Returned the next day at 4 pm, was told "we aren't taking any more buys today" I made a suggestion that they can just take my items and text me whenever they get to them. Obviously that doesn't work for them so I guess you just kind of gamble. They did suggest calling before coming but I feel like this can also change within the 20 mins that it takes to get there. Maybe y'all should consider an online reservation system so you don't waste customers time. It's already no longer worth it for me to come back, with my time and cost of fuel. If I could give a 0 stars I would. Came in at 12:37 and got told they were looking for shorts and I only brought in shorts so I was pretty excited. The lady told me that it would be 30-40 minutes and I'll get a text letting me know that the stuff they didn't want would be ready. I walked around for 45 minutes waiting for a text and never got one so I waited in my car a hour and a half for them to NOT TEXT ME! So I went in to see if they forgot to text me and they didn't take one of my items because they are looking for "high wasted shorts and lulu Lemmon" I had 7 Nike shorts, 5 underarmor shorts, 4 high wasted jeans shorts and a couple adidas shorts and they didn't take any of it. WASTED MY TIME BY NOT LETTING ME KNOW IT WAS READY AND DIDNT EVEN TAKE ANY OF MY BRANDED ITEMS even though the sign says those are the brands they wanted. I googled and found this store to sell my clothes that most of them are new with tag. I took 30+ items of clothes and shoes, bag from MK, Zara, Mango, HM and similar. They only chose 12 item and offered 30 dollars for all the 12 items!! Among them which basically was not even half the price of one single item among them that was a Zara skirt with tag or a new tommy shoes!! So basically if the item is originally 60 they say it worths 20 and they will give you 2 dollar for it!! so on and so forth. I will rather donate the clothes rather than selling them that cheap! FUCK THIS PLACE FR I went in and dropped off a basket of things. I was told beforehand that they were only taking specific things so I knew my whole basket wasn't going to be taken and that was perfectly fine BUT they did take over 150 dollars worth of my fucking jeans and gave me 29 dollars and some fucking change. I waited FOUR HOURS for them to bullshit me like that and they were rude af when I went to pick it up. I drove 25 minutes to this location because I saw online that it was 90% off clearance. I got there and went to the Styles side (thought it was the same). I was told no that's not accurate and maybe it was the Plato side. I wasn't sure what she meant so I asked the manager who explained Plato's was next door and it may be them. Went to Plato's and was told clearance was 50% off. I showed the young lady the online ad and she said she needed to ask a lead. She went to the front and proceeded to help another person. Came with very low expectations because of the reviews of previous customers. The last time I came here was in 2009/2010. BOY HAS IT CHANGED SINCE THEN. It's about 3x bigger than it was. Tops are perfectly color coordinated. Dresses and skirts have a different rack. Shorts are at a different rack. And each rack of clothes has shoes on top of them, also color coordinated. Service was great. Every single worker was friendly. The girl who bought my clothes and offered me a price was very professional. The worker in charge of the fitting rooms made sure everyone got a fitting room in a timely manner. And I got $30 for 7 pieces of clothing, including a few shirts, shorts, dresses, and belts. If only I could give 0 stars. I came here to sell clothes, dropped off my stuff, and came back whenever it was ready. They were only able to take 6 out of 25+ items I had (which is okay), but they lost the rest of my clothes. They really tried to pretend like it didn't happen.... gave me $22 for the 6 items and told me to have a nice day. I was so confused because where are the rest of my clothes that you didn't take?? They claimed that one of the employees gave my basket to someone else who came to pick up.... First of all, HOW. Second of all, why would that person claim the basket as theirs when it's clearly not? My recent experience was a good one so I thought I'd leave a review seeing as they have a lot of negative ones. I called in and asked if they were taking buys and to what time. I walked in and was greeted and helped immediately. They had me sign in and let me know the buy would be a while as they had buys to sort before me and were in the process of shift change. My things were sorted before the time, they took 8 items and gave me $45. Which is more than I usually get. I noticed they had accidentally dropped a shoe in my belongings as I was looking for a bag they didn't take. I returned the shoe and the cashier on duty gave me a free points for returning the shoe. Not sure how this place is in business! Arrived today with 2 daughters and each had 1 tub of clothes. We we were told it would be 3 hours for them to complete the sort/offer process. After 2 hours the 10 bags in front of ours had not been touched and when we inquired how much longer the reply was 2-3 hours. My recommendation to the owner is to hire employees that want to work and not socialize/vape with friends instead. That is all they did while we waited. This place is rocking it when it comes to sale and resale. I have never been to a Plato's closet but wow I wish I knew long ago. When you walk in to the left is the entrance to sell items. To the right buy items. They had classy shoes, tennis shoes, and sandals galore. The jewelry was nice too. The ladies that work on the buy side are so courteous, nice, and ready to help. Didn't see many male items but hey if you like women's clothes and you are a ma'am you I'll love it too! Most of these fabulous shoes were $10! I know so cheap! And in good condition.
