At that point we realized that no one was coming to take our order for a while, so we politely left.....

BBQ tends to blend together after a while, but theirs stood out, good flavor without being overpowering, something for everybody. I got the smoked turkey sandwich and the turkey was so tender and juicy I almost ordered a second one, even though the first was plenty filling. I'd be back here in a heartbeat if I'm ever down this direction again.

This grill, it appears, to be in a converted warehouse space. It is likely the whole block was a warehouse which was sectioned into separate commercial properties. It has 20' ceilings with tin ceiling tiles and nice industrial wood flooring. They have live music and karaoke nights. They have a nice selection of food. Seafood, burgers, quesadillas, wings, salads, wraps ... I tried their mushroom Swiss burger which was huge, juicy and delicious. I needed to cut it in half to figure a way to attack it and a lot of napkins. A fun fact: it is the State line grill because it is in Bristol TN but you cross the street and you are in Bristol VA! If you are in the area, I highly recommend stopping in to try it out.

Seating is a mix of booths and tables and we selected a booth next to the window. Our server came right away and took our drink orders. There is also a board next to the hostess stand with listed specials. Looking over the menu, these were just regular menu items at regular prices. Our server returned and took our food order. The food took about 20 minutes to arrive, which was a little longer than expected. The bbq pork sandwich was dry and did not have a lot of flavor. The bun was fine but the dry meat made it harder to chew and took a lot of water to finish. In addition, the homemade chips were very crispy and salty. This plate left me parched even after drinking three glasses of water. The burger, however, was good. The meat was fairly juicy and toppings were fresh. The same homemade chips accompanied the burger and were also crispy and salty. The bathroom was in poor condition and appeared not to have been cleaned in some time. This was brought to our server's attention, who did not seem too concerned. Maybe this is a good place if you are seeking out music and alcohol, but there are many other options if all you want is lunch.

I ordered the Lavender Lemon Honey Tini, made with Tennessee Hills Lavender Lemon, lavender syrup, honey syrup, lemon juice, and soda water, garnished with a lemon wheel. It was delicious--sweet, refreshing, and easily my favorite drink of the night. My date had the Raspberry Kiss, made with Tennessee Hills Lemon Vodka, raspberry purée, lemon juice, and pineapple juice. The flavor was good, although it tasted a bit diluted as the ice melted. The biggest drawback was the service. We had to ask three separate times for water, and it ultimately arrived from a different server rather than our waitress.

It was in the cut pretty far off the highway & by a park with several homeless people so was a little sketchy late at night but the food was really good! They came out after we took our order to go so he could check on it because he asked me numerous times about the cheese I wanted. I had said I do not want anything on top of my burrito and hate the liquid cheese. The person who made my burrito used the liquid cheese, similar to nacho cheese consistency on top. No shredded cheese inside. So they didn't give my bf his cheese sauce he paid for. My burrito was nasty. They didn't put a whole poblano, the first half of the burrito had a few small pieces of poblano, barely any octopus, no shredded cheese inside, they didn't give me any limes. I HATE this crap cheese sauce that "mexican" food places use in Tennessee. Legit Mexican food places don't use this fake liquid cheese. My bf said his nachos were good. Problem is.. I was on the toilet all night because of this cheese. I say this because it was the same cheese they put on his nachos and... he was sick to his stomach for the rest of the night and then he had his turn on the toilet.

My husband ordered five enchiladas each with a different stuffing. While delicious, unless you haven't eaten since last Thursday, who can consume so many enchiladas?! I shouldn't talk. The house special quesadilla -- always excellent -- is a lot of food. Ever resourceful, I took half back, put the chicken and peppers on a bagel and ate it for breakfast! (Note to self AND my husband: next time let's split one and maybe forego the steak and chicken. Chorizo and shrimp?!) Moving on, the salsa bar is great with smooth, chunky, mild and spicy salsas. That's not counting the warm bean spread brought to the table with their thin and crisp chips. Our margaritas -- $6 each -- are not only good but pretty, topped with berries and a flower. Here it is, Monday night -- not a typical going-out day of the week -- and the place is busy with locals. Pretty good testimony to what's become one of my favorite Mexican restaurants.

The bar area was toward the back of the space, and looked like it seated around 20 people. The place was dead, even for a Tuesday evening, probably only around 5-8 other customers in the whole place. As a comparison the Texas Roadhouse across the parking lot was packed. The bartender was pleasant and attentive, and checked on me often. I did not order food on this visit, but BWW is usually pretty consistent on food quality from one location to the next. I did have a couple of beers; the Yee Haw Dunkel, and the Devils Backbone Vienna Lager. Both beers seemed fresh with no apparent off flavors from dirty tap lines. The tap list seemed a bit uninspired, but it is a BWW not a craft beer bar. After reading through some of the other recent reviews I can see why the place was so dead, there seems to have been some negative experiences over the last 1-2 years. Fortunately I didn't experience any of these issues during my visit.
