Plattner has no concern for the people of Venice, I wouldn't expect them to treat their customers any better. Their lot is at a very dangerous intersection of Bypass 41 and Gulf Soast Bulavard. There is a curv in the highway there and visibility was very limited. Ronald Foxworthy Park is on Guf Coast Blvd. To make matters much worse Plattner is parking vehicles for sale as close as they can to the highway. They are off the parking lot and into the grass right next to the sidewalk. I have asked the foreieners in the office to move them back, I have called the Sherriffs out several times. I won't even try to pull out there I have to go north and make a U- turn. There has been at least one accident there already, I'm sure there will be more, perhaps a lawsuit will convince them they are creating a very hazardous condition. read more

I went to Plattner's Superstore in Venice on 1/12/26 to look at a car advertised on Carfax, a Kia Rio offered for $4584. Of note, I am a cash buyer. When I arrived, I told the salesman (I don't think he ever told me his name) what I was there for. We went into the office, where another man was in the back on the phone. The salesman that I was working with shouted back for him to get off the personal call and answer the business line that was ringing, then proceeded to talk poorly about the caller (I guess he recognized the number). After the person in the back hung up with the caller, he then shouted to the front where I sat with the salesman that he was going to "take a s@#t). The icing on the cake was that the salesman then proceeded to inform me that the car that was advertised for $4584 would be over $7800 out the door (including tax, tags and dealer fees). so where do i begin. went into the store to purchase a vehicle that i saw on line. the price quoted on line which i was ok with. all we had to do was work on term and interest rate. once that was done they told me i had to come back to sign the contract. this is where the one star comes in. i come back the next day and of course the payments changed and so did the rate. it went up by two percentage points and thirty dollars per month. never did they tell me so, all they did was ask me to sign the contract. of course i did not. that's when the gm of the store got involved. as we went back and forth he kept getting louder and louder and the thretened me by saying he doesn't care how old i am he will take me out.all his employees were talking about him yesterday the way he treats ans speaks to customers. when i asked him are you threatening me he went back into the store and locked the door. i have a call inot corprate and i am waiting on a call back. lets see of they call back and if they care about how he is treating there customers. read more

I ignored the warning signs, that it was apparent none of the three employees here could get a job anywhere else, that the furniture looked like it was pulled out of a dumpster, that there was a spilled coffee in the office that no one had picked up. But found a car I wanted for the price I wanted. Until they "worked the numbers" and added $1500 to the sale price. Not tax, tag, etc, but to the actual advertised price in the car and online. This place is a scam with salespeople that have obviously washed out of any other sales job whose best skill is smoking under the tree out front. Stay away at all costs. Let me share this. I just had the Best experience of my car buying life. Friendly staff great customer service and HONEST. I would send anyone there to work with them. They gave me an honest price and I did not have an omg what are these 7k in fees on my contract or a total insult like some other Sarasota County dealers with my trade which was a fully loaded 2017 with 97k on it. We agreed on a trade price on the phone and I came in and he said I can't give you that amount we talked about I have to give you more. While I was finishing up paperwork they already put my tag on the new car and my license plate frame. The car was not detailed yet because someone was out today but they guaranteed me a detail and it will be done tomorrow after 9am. So here is my advice to you go to Plattner in Venice ask for Tony, Chris or Kevin, you will leave with a car and a smile. Over priced and very unrealiable. When you buy a car from a certified dealer they are suppose to go tru a safety check. Well needless to say im proff that dont happen. Bought a 2016 buick encore. Week one oil leak... All because whoever changed the oil never tighten the plug. Get it back week two o2 sensor and Vaule cover blown. All under warranty .. That was made to purchase thank goodness. Or we would be out more money. Bc day we got our vehicle back check engine light came on. Still awaiting for an appoint to find out why bc boone seems to know why... Made a deal with this location and after moving my personal items from my car (traded it) to the new vehicle, salesman told me the price was listed incorrectly and it was actually $1500 more than originally agreed. I removed my items and left. Found out later that a co-worker experienced the SAME shenanigans when she purchased her vehicle (except she felt she was too invested to cancel and wound up paying the extra). The business said that one of their Toyotas was $6985 online. (They claim that retail is 7850 for the vehicle). When we showed up with cash in hand, we were told that the vehicle is actually $3000 more than the marketed $6985. (Why on earth would you charge a couple grand more than you claim the retail to be?!?) They said the advertised price was not for cash, but that a trade-in was required for that price. This was a complete bait and switch and their marketing is misleading, at least in our case. We had driven over an hour to go look at this vehicle. We were dismissed by the lady at the front counter. We do not recommend this business. (If there are any honest used car dealerships in Florida, please let me know. I haven't been able to find one yet.) There was one nice man that helped us there, but the lady there was highly dismissive of us and basically was uninterested in us when we brought up a cash deal. No thank you! read more

Nothing super here. In fact stay, far far away. If you want to learn some stuff they tried to do to me read on, if you dare. They listed a price of $5,500 for a vehicle, which i looked at, and then when you get done with the fees, that the manager loved to add, it was over $8,000 cost. Which was just shy of full retail value. Then the manager would claim at least it is (just) below retail. Such old school scammers and liars. They post one price to get you there, to buy it. Other helpful hints: First, look at the tires, most of the vehicles i saw,were at or under 2/32 of an inch . Which means you need to spend money on new tires, the next day, which is an easy $500 to $1,000 cost. Second,look at the outside of the vehicle. The vehicle i was looking at had a dent on the left rear. That is another $500 to $1,000 fix. Third, they use in house painters to cover up problem vehicles. As i saw on their calendar, need to hire another new painter ASAP. Fourth, their sales guy uses may be using N.L.P. to get sales, and use yourself against yourself for another sale. Fortunately I Have seen these tactics, like with Tony Robbins, who swear they are just trying to help people. You truly do not know what you are buying at this place. Just look at the vehicle i was looking at, this $5,500 vehicle would of been at least $10,000 plus other things they did not disclose, to get in full retail shape. Take your money and buy from a private seller. It seems like, Mr. Plattner needs to retire, or get a lot of ethics with your sellers/managers. Your many dealerships may have sales hype, yet they appear to going the way of the bland and cheap plastic Saturn car. read more

My husband was parked in their lot, talking on the phone to me about a truck for sale there. Rude salesman pulled up next to him to inform him it was a car dealership, then told him he didn't believe he'd be buying a truck there and that everyone uses their lot to park in.
