I've taken my cars, over the years, to Tire Kingdom in Nokomis several times for different issues, and they've always been very helpful, honest, not pushy, and reasonably priced. Steve is always great to work with--very understanding and respectful. I left my car with him yesterday, but today I spoke with Austin over the phone and he did a great job fixing my A/C. On Tuesday, February 24th, I had an appointment at 2:00 PM at Tire Kingdom, located at 1260 Tamiami Trail in Nokomis, Florida. It wasn't my first time there, and they've always been very professional. I sat in the waiting room, which has a panoramic window where you can see the cars they work on. The guy who was going to do the oil change came in and spoke with the woman in charge. He must have told her I needed a new filter. She came out and asked me if I agreed to change the filter, saying the cost was $24.99. I told her that was fine. I kept watching this guy work and noticed he took out the filter inside the engine. When he was almost finished, I saw him put the same dirty filter back in. They were about to move my car, so I said, "Don't lock the car, I want to see the filter you just put in." First, he showed me a small oil filter. I said, "No, I want the other one," and I took it out, and it was the same dirty filter they had taken out. I complained. Then he and the other person said, "No, he wasn't aware of the change," but that wasn't true because they both knew since they had asked me. If I hadn't noticed what he was doing, I would have paid for a new filter and left with the old one. In the end, I told the manager, but it's a shame because maybe because I'm a woman and I'm on my phone talking, I don't notice things. I have to wait almost 30 minutes more because they ask to another location to bring a new filter because they don't have in stock. read more

My truck has about 50,000 miles on it, and I recently had new tires installed at Tire Kingdom. There were no issues with the sensors before, but as soon as I got my truck back, the sensor started malfunctioning. Additionally, the hubcaps weren't secured properly, and both the front and rear caps fell off. When I mentioned this to them, they suggested that someone must have stolen them. They made a half-hearted attempt to assist with the sensor issue but didn't offer any help regarding the hubcaps. I wouldn't recommend this place; this was definitely my last visit. Be cautious about where you take your vehicles, as this shop seems unprofessional and careless in the Bay Area, which is likely why my stuff got damaged. read more

I took my Mini Cooper in for an oil change, tire rotation, and balance. I received a call stating my tires couldn't be rotated or balanced due to the severe amount of wear on the inside. I was given a quote for over $1000. But wait - that included the oil change. Whaaaaat?? They asked if the could go ahead with the tires. Umm. No. Absolutely not. My vehicle has 48,000 miles. Mini of Wesley Chapel replaced two of the tires when I purchased my car at 28,500 miles. The replacements? Same as when she rolled out of the factory - Hankook. They do NOT need replaced. Wesley Chapel Mini offered a great price to replace two tires and threw in a ton of freebies. Will I go there? Probably. It's totally worth the hour drive. Jason - I suggest you don't get your techs to scare people with suggestions of a blowout. I may be a woman, but I'm not one to be intimidated. When I picked up my car, they had deleted the quoted tires and didn't offer a breakdown of costs or even the tire information. Shame of this franchise. today has been an extremely long day and typically I'm not one too satisfied when I've spent the majority of my early afternoon late morning up at a tire shop however, the service that I received today as well as the knowledge pertaining to what is wrong with my vehicle was exceptional. the staff here went out of their way to provide everything to make sure that needs of my vehicle warm as well as allow me away to get my daughter picked up from school on time while my vehicle was being worked on. Do not do business with this location. Would neither patch my tire caused by a roofing nail obtained from one of the many new constructions in the Venice area, nor honor the road hazard warranty claiming road hazard didn't cover a nail puncture in the tire. We are not talking side wall damage here, we are talking a roofing nail in the middle of the treads. This tire has less than 18,000 miles on it, and is an expensive 60,000 mile Michelin. So whatever location you decide, DO NOT pay extra for the road hazard at Tire Kingdom, Mavis, or any company associated with them. read more

I don't know what past transgressions led to low ratings, but without doubt Steve and Jeff's management have made this a superb location for all car needs. My Porsche needed new tires and an oil and filter change, and I had to wait a month for a dealership appointment. I stopped in to Tire Kingdom and they arranged to order the tires and oil/filter and the next day they completed the service in less than 1-1/2 hours. Price was VERY reasonable and quality of work was excellent. Highly recommend this store for all of your automotive needs. read more

I came here last week because I had low tire pressure. It was a Monday morning and Steve who I believe manages this location was very helpful. I ran over a nail and it hit the tire in a spot that couldn't be patched. Steve was able to order a tire for me that was available the next day. A day later the light came back on, so I went back to Tire Kingdom and Steve took a look; he made sure that all the tires were at the right weight and pressure and recalibrated them. That location shows great customer service. I am recommending this place for anyone that needs a tire patched or replaced. Just like so many other companies in the area, sometimes they get short staffed, so please be kind and patient. I know that they will take good care of you. And if you have to wait a few minutes, there's a Dunkin' Donuts right next-door. read more

This is a new business. They sent mailers out to the homes in the area and I called and made an appointment for the " $" oil change. But the business model here is the big "up cell." My 20 year old vehicle leaks oil with 120,000 miles - only needs quacker state 30w. Long story short, as if the manufactures recommendations for a vehicle that's all relevant, all they would sell me was a synthetic oil package. For $50 plus tax. No way can I support this business model. Certainly isn't responsive to the needs of the customer. Understandably, the store manager didn't like my attitude. But, certainly I didn't like his attitude either. This would be a great place to go if you're a sheep, or a blue check. read more

My girlfriend had a tire blow out on a recent trip, we had the car towed to this tire kingdom location. They were very prompt and assured us the rear tires both needed replacing. We got it done. On our way to pick up the car we pull into the parking lot to see them trying to do a burn out in her car. Pretty disappointed that this was attempted unbeknownst to us. Just be wary if you're taking any car here that looks remotely sporty or is a European car. read more

I came in recently for an oil change and rotation as I was going on a long vacation. I asked that they pay attention to the brakes as the vehicle has 90,000 miles and original brakes. Last oil change the technician said I had 30% life left. The salesman came back to me 30 minutes later and said the good news is the brakes have 80% life. Interesting! I didn't know that brakes grew. The bad news he said was my battery was near dead per a reading he showed me and the air and cabin filter needed replacing. Total cost around $450. Seemed odd. I declined and went to Advanced Auto for a battery check. They hooked it up and reported it was great. Asked why I wanted it checked. I showed them the print out from Tire Kingdom. Confused, the technician thought that perhaps there was an alternator issue and wanted to check that as well. He hooked up the monitor and had me rev the engine to the appropriate level. Again, great charge. He was truly baffled why they wanted to replace the battery. I'm not suggesting anything, just sharing my experience ............ read more
