We've had good luck here. The first time there, our oil change took hours.... But the manager made it right with a couple of free future oil changes. When we went back this time for oil change and tire rotation, the rotated the tires, but didn't fill them up like we asked. We have a TPMS system and the tires still showed low. The service advisor said "oh that will go away when you start driving." Yeah... it didn't. So we went back a couple weeks later (we'd been out of town) and asked them to rotate the tires how we wanted them, and they threw in balancing for free. I work in the automotive business and recently tried helping one of my customers who had their Jeep serviced here. What happened next was extremely concerning. After spending nearly $5,000 with this service department, the original issue still isn't fixed. The explanation we received afterward was essentially "no clue." We were told the batteries had to be charged and that there's "something electrically wrong" that they cannot diagnose. As someone in the industry, that response is unacceptable after charging a customer thousands of dollars. If the problem couldn't be properly diagnosed, replacing expensive parts beforehand raises serious questions about the diagnostic process and how those repair decisions were made. Dealership service departments are supposed to have the highest level of training, diagnostic equipment, and technical support. Charging a customer $5,000 and then admitting you can't diagnose the issue is not what anyone should expect from a professional service department. I was simply trying to help my customer get their vehicle repaired properly. Unfortunately, this experience did the opposite. Very disappointing. read more

One of the very few dealerships left that focuses on just selling quality vehicles at a great value vs. deceiving you with a low advertised price and then adding in thousands of dollars of nonsense add-on's that become extremely difficult to remove. Tommy Whiteley was who I worked with and he's a class act, along with the used vehicle sales manager who made the whole process of purchasing a Ford F-150 extremely smooth and easy. No pressure, no nonsense. Don't be fooled by the other glitzy dealerships with grand entrances and billions of balloons. They are in the business of selling expensive add-on paint protection packages, etching, tire protection, loans and warranties. They just need a car to attach all of those products to, so they really don't care about the car because it's not where they make their money. Took my vehicle here for oil change (prepaid). They tried to charge me. Then managed to find that it was free. Then gave me estimates on brakes and rear wiper arm & blade. Brakes do need work, wiper arm doesn't. Why try to charge me $123 for something not needed. I don't think it even needed a blade replacement, but I did go to local parts store and paid less than $20 and they even put it on. I did not report an issue with wiper arm and it works fine. Beware as they tried to take advantage of a woman not knowing any better. Disgusted. I bought me vehicle there. Never again. read more

I was called a week later and told that they had seized my engine. They rebuilt or put in a new motor. When I picked it up (11/4) I was told they had test driven it 3 times and all was good. I went approx. 5 miles with no A/C. I returned and told them that they had to evacuate the unit and recharge it after rebuilding my engine. The A/C setting was max and the fan was high (4). You would think that hot air would put up a red flag. (But no) This was completed in about an hour. The next day (11/5) after I returned home from work I went into my house for about two minutes, and when I went back out to my truck I noticed a 6" circular wet spot under my car. (Oil). I investigated it and found the drain plug was so loose that I got 4 full turns with my fingers before it started to tighten. I finished the job. No longer a problem. Today (11/7) I stepped down on the throttle when entering I75, only to see the service engine light turn back on again. I have had to pay for 8 weeks of rental cars because your service dept. took 2 1/2 weeks to approve the work the first time, then wait another 1 1/2 weeks for parts for the work to be done. I was told 3 to 5 days when I brought the vehicle in. I have cashed out appr. $3500 in rental fees. I was told that since I was over 100,000 miles it was not covered. I feel that the time to get an approval to work on my lifetime warranty was excessive., in the day of the internet. Just a phone call should have been enough. The second rental was directly a result of your mechanic seizing up my engine. I DROVE IT IN. It was not seized then. Now the service engine light turned on again when I accelerated again. I feel you guys should pay for my last three week rental, and half of my first five week rental. At this point, I want to take my truck somewhere else. Maybe they can figure out why the service engine light still turns on when the turbo kicks in. I have sent this twice to RAM with no reply, after receiving an email asking me how everything went with the service department. Seriously?? Made an appointment, waited the month and brought the truck to have a "service electronic brake system". signed for diag charge in the morning. No call, went back late afternoon truck was returned to me not repaired. Service advisor said probably need a pump, about $1500. I guess that was the diagnosis, no diag charge no receipt no technician report... nothing but a waste of time and money Filled out emailed "dealer experience" gave a scathing review. Next day service manager called wanting to know why and when I told him why I was disappointed, he must have taken it personal. Called to talk to the owner or manager a week later and my call went on a trip through the phone system and eventually was disconnected. l wasn't the only one there that was disappointed, that is a business model l haven;t heard of before, how many people can you anger in a day. Brought our 2020 Wrangler in for recall work and routine maintenance and they returned it to us with a cracked windshield. Gave us some cockamamie story about it must've been a pebble and the glass was hot then water and blah, blah, blah. Cool story, bro but I brought my vehicle in with an intact windshield and you returned it with a cracked windshield. So, what's up? They are absolutely refusing to take ownership and make a simple accident right. They want to waste my time by having their glass guy come "take a look". They had their service manager call me and speak to me like I'm an idiot. He did no research of the situation and did not even speak to the tech. All he did was blab on how honest they are. I suggested they review any video of their service bays to determine what happened or at the very least interview the tech. He gave me excuses of why he couldn't do that. I asked where the pre-service inspection report was. He can't provide that. My brother took one look at it and without knowing what we had it in for asked "did you have the wiper blades changed?" I said, "yeah, what does that have anything to do with anything?" He proceeds to show me the point of impact and how it aligns perfectly with the hook on the wiper arm. So, the most likely thing that happened is they had the wiper arm up while changing the blade and accidentally hit the bare arm causing it to snap back onto the glass and cracked it. Not a big deal but this dealership absolutely refuses to make the situation right by the customer and would rather call the customer a liar and treat them like an idiot than do the right thing. read more

I would like to start off by saying that my dad had went into this dealership roughly at the end of march. He was just walking around looking around. He was approached by a salesman named Chris. The salesman wasn't pushy and ask my dad if he would like to take a ride in one of the cars he did and he liked it. He called me and told me all about it and told me to start looking for this car with the best deal out there because my father wasn't going to do anything without my approval, so Chris gave us a very good number on a car but at the time they didn't have anything that really caught her eye as far as color wise. Also, we weren't in a hurry so about a week later, I tried to contact Chris to see if anything new came in and he told me he no longer worked at the dealer. So a few weeks went by and we were contacted by Annie. She was very nice and sweet and ask when my dad can come by again he went by again and looked around and she told me that she would honor the same deal that Chris had said before he left. But the holdup was still about the colors that they didn't have desirable ones and cars with desirable options for us. She showed him a few new units that came in. She was also texting me pictures at the same time she was showing him the cars like if I was there, which was greatly appreciated. She was very thorough with the numbers going over them again. My dad last because I really wanted a car that had the plus package, and they had none in stock because of the safety features. Then on a Sunday my dad went by because he was in the area. They were closed and saw a car that wasn't really the right color but had all the options that he wanted so we decided after looking at that car that it would work. I had called Annie and told her when I could be in and she said OK before the end of the month which I understand I used to be in the car business. I told her I could be in on Saturday April 29 and I was going to come to buy a car, whether it was there or somewhere else. I was also told the same discounts was going to be applied to the new vehicle that just came in and I would just have to pay obviously the difference which I understood. I came in on Saturday which obviously they were very busy which is understandable, Annie was unavailable and I worked with Austin who was also great. We went and sat down and wanted to see what the numbers were on the new car because obviously there was a difference because it cost more money. I had already had done the math and knew what it supposed to look like but I wanted to see it on their paperwork. So Austin came back with the paperwork and they were trying to short me on my trade. Mind you before I went back. I asked if all the numbers were going to stay the same and I was told yes. So I told Austin I said this is not what I discussed with Annie so he went back to the desk where the managers were and came back and said well my manager feels the fact that you're wasting his time coming back-and-forth to our dealership basically insinuating that were playing games. So I showed him a number from another dealership and said look I don't have to play games nor do I have to buy here so I showed Austin the number that I had from the other dealership and I said I was just gonna check them out then, after that, the manager who was extremely dry and rude, came to the table His name was Monty Jacobs. He has got to be one of the worst managers I have ever dealt with very dismissive and cold rude whatever you wanna call it. I have plenty of cars. Sometimes I change them out as soon as three months when does the new or used. I have dealt with a lot of owners, GM's, controllers, etc. I am in the car business myself and on a dealership and I would never treat a customer so poorly due to the fact of referrals and having a return customer. So I know how to play the game that he wanted to play so I got up and left. Austin was very nice followed us outside apologized. Then he asked if a certain number would work and I said no because that's not what we discussed. We got in the car and drove off. I didn't even hit the corner and I was told that we could do the number that I was originally told we could do, I was like OK I'll come back later on. I was already upset at the fact that we wasted our time and we could've close this deal a lot sooner if the manager didn't want to play games. I came back hours later bought the car fast process finance team was great because we were paying cash so everybody in this dealership that I dealt with was phenomenal I even asked a couple random people that work there about this manager and they all say he's like that that it wasn't just me. I might refer somebody later on but myself I don't think I would ever come back because that manager rub me the wrong way, but the sales stuff again great to deal with. read more

About a month ago, I walked into the used car part of Douglass and put a deposit on a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica. There was some damage on the body and bumper that I was told will be fixed. The trunk had the material torn off, I was told it will be fixed. They had 4 days to complete the job. Of course, the car wasn't finished. The bumper got painted and that was all, plus the blame was put on me because I was rushing them. The 4 days was THEIR promise. Anyway.. It's Saturday and I go to get the car, and now I am told I can't get it because my check needs to be certified. I am pressured to apply for credit. No thanks. Took about 2 hours but that got settled. Seemed that the "wonderful Stephanie" forgot to tell me a few things (certified check, tires need replacing). Steph tells me to come back another day to get the rest of the car fixed. We agree on Wednesday morning, but when I come there it's her day off, now I need to explain everything all over again. I also see a crack in the window. I am told not to worry all will be done. I am not even given a courtesy car. I get a rental from across the street. The car is tiny and I can't leave Venice/ Sarasota area because this is their only location and if I{ break down no one can help me. THANK YOU. Anyway, I come get the car. . new tires on, trunk fixed. Yey. The crack is still there because their "glass guy" is somewhere else. How is this my problem? I am told on Monday I will get a call and get the glass fixed. ..... 3+ weeks now and nothing. Well, thank you everyone at Douglass and especially Stephanie for a horrible experience. PS: I was told the car gets 30 mpg highway, it's more like 22mpg. Another lie. I also asked STEPHANIE on a price of a 2023 that came in and was getting the run around (still needs an inspection, price not set yet.) When I got there I was told that car already SOLD. They ran my credit 4 times when they said they would once, and then when I said the deal was off they ran it again without my permission. When talking to them about trying to get a refund they hung up on me when I asked to speak to the manager. I spoke with 4-5 sales people who were all standing there not busy with any other customers. Was also dishonest about the car being in an accident and having title issues. Manager named Matt was very rude over the phone and wouldn't let me out of the deal when I asked. I called and spoke to Lauren just before leaving to let her know that I was on my way and confirm that the car was still available to be test drive and sold. She confirmed. My electronic steering went out on my RAM 1500. A known recall item. I was told that since my exact VIN did not come up in the recall even though the year and model did I was SOL. This was after some one in the service department told me that if the light did not come back on when I restarted it that I should be fine. Well I almost crashed. Great staff!!! Bought new suv pd for prep again, they didnt even wash roof of vehicle. could have saved $400 and ran through car wash and had better job done.. Have tow package with REAR LOAD LEVELING SUSPENSION. I have bottomed out on small bumps, because it does not level anything. 3 days of wait game. apparently installed reg shocks do job, but they charge you $1200 to say it. I was told and have a letter saying that the registration and my tag they were going to transfer was indeed never canceled by DMV in Tallahassee and I couldn't register another vehicle from a private sale until i surrendered my tag and had to tell that dealership the problem x 2 times and even sent them the Suspension and final order last week to no avail The letter the State sent me was "notice of order of suspension and final order since they said i never had insurance of that car i never even drove off of their lot. I had the deadline date of August 3, 2021 that my Driver's License would be suspended. This was so wrong and almost denied me buying a car from a private owner. Went to purchase a Chysler in January 23. Mike B was my salesperson. I told him I wanted it titled in Maryland. He said no problem. He said they collect the sales tax in Florida and have a service that sends it to Maryland. I was charged12124.15 for sales tax and when I got to Maryland they had not received anything from Douglas. I called Matt Knott right there and he said he would fedex a check to me the next day. The title person heard him and so I paid the Maryland sales tax. There has been no check and I have called Mat Knott and he said he would send it. Nothing has arrived. Also before I left Florida to come to Maryland I went to Douglas Jeep and asked Mike B. my salesperson to get me a copy of my Buyers order. He did and I asked him about the sales tax again. He said they had a service that sends the sales tax to MD. My friend & husband was with me when I bought the car and when he talked with the title person in MD. Both Mike & Matt lied. Unlike many dealerships, they actually do care about their customers, don't try to overcharge, and are friendly and willing to help.  The manager, Travis, is a great example for his staff as he is always friendly, professional, remembers your name, tries to help you out as best he can, and makes you feel valued and want to come back!  Kudos for a garage/dealership that is miles above the rest! Now 6 months later and have been into Douglas recently and am happy to report that their customer service in the Service Dept continues to be top notch!
