From start to finish there was no high pressure sales tactics used. Our sales people Katlynn Tyler & John Dominguez were extremely professional, knowledgeable, and guided us through the process, addressing our concerns and working with us at our pace and our budget. They kept in light contact with us until we were ready to purchase without being intrusive. Katlynn even had little Easter baskets made up for our grandkids when we picked up the car! Once we purchased the vehicle, Katlynn contacted us within a week or two, to check in with us and make sure we were happy with our purchase and to see if there were any concerns or questions about the vehicle. I wouldn't choose a star if I didn't have to. my insurance made me take my vehicle for repairs. after extending the estimated time in service by more than a month, I get the car back and as soon as I was reunited with my car after 2 mos of waiting. - they painted over the sideview mirror light (amateurs) - the steering wheel and wheel alignment was way off. - the turn signal light had a short (and still does after 3 visits back and a year later!) - the tire was making a rubbing sound and the brakes were not working properly. I immediately pulled it back into the yard and the front desk girl tells me to "keep driving it and it should stop making the rubbing sound!" Three visits from start to finish and they Never fixed the short in the front blinker. They suck. read more

We have used the Service Department at Venice Toyota for a while and have always been very impressed. Their professionalism and honesty were the reason we decided to purchase a new vehicle from this dealership. Unfortunately, the sales and finance experience was the complete opposite. When I asked about the interest rate, the salesperson repeatedly deflected instead of giving a straightforward answer. Only after signing did I learn the rate was 7.75%, which was never disclosed upfront. This felt misleading and left us extremely disappointed. The service department is outstanding, but the sales and finance departments need to be far more transparent with customers. read more

WARNING Buyer beware I recently purchased a vehicle from this dealership and within about 17 hours of purchase discovered serious issues that were not disclosed at the time of sale. After bringing the car home I found what appeared to be dried blood and other signs of possible biological contamination inside the vehicle. This was extremely concerning especially as I have two children who would be riding in the car and I am not comfortable exposing them to something like that. After further review I discovered the vehicle had been involved in multiple accidents (three reported) and appears to have been completely repainted none of which was disclosed during the sales process. The car also makes noticeable noise at higher speeds which raises additional concerns about its condition. During the sales process I was told multiple times that if I did not like the vehicle I could return it or exchange it. When I returned about 17 hours after purchase to address these issues and requested to unwind the deal the general manager stated this is not Walmart you cannot do either of those things which directly contradicted what was told during the sale. This created a clear mismatch between what was promised during the sales process and what was actually honored afterward. The dealership's sales approach felt inconsistent and misleading based on my experience as expectations set during the purchase were not reflected when I attempted to resolve issues shortly after delivery. I also have a credit score over 750 yet I was placed into a loan at around 9 percent interest. Based on my credit profile this rate seemed unusually high and was not clearly explained which raises concerns about how financing was handled. When I returned to the dealership I spoke with the general manager who I believe is named Brian. He was visibly upset and came across as condescending. When I raised concerns about the dried blood in the vehicle he asked if I was a pathologist. He misspoke and clearly meant hematologist. He then told me my only options were that they could wipe it with a wet towel or I could leave stating the door is over there. That response was completely unacceptable given the situation. Biological contamination is not something that can be addressed with a basic wipe down. Situations involving bodily fluids require proper remediation beyond standard detailing and it did not appear that level of care had been taken. The dealership promotes a certification process but based on my experience it did not reflect the actual condition or history of the vehicle. I also felt pressured during the sale and was not given full transparency. We have requested to unwind this deal and resolve the situation directly. If this is not addressed appropriately we are prepared to escalate the matter further including filing formal complaints with the appropriate consumer protection agencies. In the meantime I will be sharing my experience to help inform other potential buyers. read more

In closing the deal, The Sales Manager and Finance Managers were very rude and belittling when I didn't take the service warranty at $680. When I had the car a few days I found out that it had illegal tint on it, which I was not informed of. Had to have it replaced. was told that they would reimburse me and sent in the info they wanted. 2 months later I have not heard a word from them. Bought a 2023 Toyota Tacoma SR5 from Venice Toyota (unfortunately traded in my 2016 Toyota 4Runner) From day 1 I had these issues: no power due to gear hunting and apple car play goes in and out all the time. Brought it in to service numerous times they claim it is normal. I cannot even pass someone on the highway! They are sticking to their story even though there are numerous complaints of the same transmission problem It is referred to as gear hunting. The service manager George is a complete ASS. 2 problems from day 1 they cannot fix either one offered no solution told me to call Toyota. I said you are not even going to call for me? All he said was NO. Instead of punching him in the face I walked away. The CarPlay issues they couldn't fix and told me to buy a new one because the problems are all fixed but the new ones are only 4 cylinder. I tried hard not to write this review, but I was left with no othern choice. I gave Hutch two chances and was let down each time. I also informed management after each time. I test drove two times with Hutch, each time before 11am and the smell of alcohol inside the car was unbearable, and his face and actions matched the smell. I took my car into Venice Toyota today. Every time I go in, I get phone calls from the sales staff trying to get me to trade my car. Today I was approached by a young man who produced a couple of cell phone images of chips in my windshield. I was told how this was unsafe and would eventually lead to disaster and that they could take care of it free of charge through my insurance I let him know I was not interested and was unaware of any chips in my windshield For the next hour and a half I watched the same guy troll around the 10 other people sitting in the waiting area for their cars to be serviced. Pitching them on the fact that their windshields were chipped and needed repair. This is the type of thing that goes on there that makes me not trust this dealership Why the hell would you let somebody go around your business and try to rook people? You could have said as much instead of racing past me and my wife (and the other two young men who worked at your dealership) to jump in the car. One of the young men asked you if I could look in the car and perhaps sit in it, you said no. Then you started the car and drove away. Good Luck to you making that sale. I had read so many horrific reviews and quite frankly I was surprised because I had one of the easiest and best car buying experiences that I have ever had. My salesman John Dominguez was absolutely awesome. My only problem with the entire Auto buying process was not with Venice Toyota. It was with Costco's auto buying program. I got to Venice Toyota because of Costco's auto buying program. One dealership honored a $3000 bonus and Venice Toyota did not. I do not blame Venice Toyota. I blame Costco Auto Program. I had ordered a part at Venice Toyota and they were more than happy to show me how to put the part in and John spent over an hour showing me all the features of my new Toyota Highlander. The Sales process was good. They worked hard to get a deal. It is after wards that brings the issues. Bought the truck in May of 2025 mileage was low approx 38000+. My last vehicle approx same mileage and lasted 2016 - 2025. In Dec 2025 the vehicle had coolant issues/overheating. January 4 2026 enroute from PA to FL. there was a complete shutdown of the engine with a top speed of 25mph. I was on I-95 and there bwas construction on both sides of the interstate and no shoulder to pull off at 8pm (Dark). Now the vehicle sits in Lumberton NC at the Nissan Dealership. Multiple Error Codes and the dealership has had the vehicle since. They'll are working on the vehicle as of this writing. MAFS, #3 cylinder spark plug burnt and ignition coil burnt all replaced and still underperforming. I have lost thousands of dollars as I cannot work without the truck. I have a K9 Transport business and I also need my truck for my day job. Needless to say I am disappointed with the truck. I pulled the Experian Auto Check and it states services done on 3/31, Multi Point Vehicle inspection and Promotional Service Performed. I have not visited the dealership yet. I am avoiding the situation as I know Venice Toyota will do anything about the vehicle. I will have to trade it in take another big financial hit. I do not trust my $21000+ Used truck. These type of dealerships will also charge you a dealer fee on your buyer's order when you sign and then they'll charge you another dealer fee when you're in the finance office. So they'll double charge you the dealer fee double charge you for freight and since they can't charge freight on a used vehicle they call it a "reconditioning fee" I should know I sold cars for 12 years. I had to service appointments at Venice Toyota recently. The first was just for a routine oil change. I got approached as I left by an individual that did not appear like a Venice Toyota service department employee, but appeared to have access to the service area, saying that I had a chip in my windshield. He then proceeded to give me his virtual business card by scanning it on my phone. It was "At Home Auto Glass", my suspicious were right, not affiliated with Venice Toyota service department. There was no chip in my windshield. Red flag. Today, followed up with more maintenance things I needed addressed. About a half hour into my service appointment I got a call from somebody representing Toyota of Venice talking about how my nice my car is and for the right price if I was willing to sell it. I was nice and told him that I had shopped very diligently for this car 15 months ago and was not willing to part for it. The salesman then tried the sales pitch again, saying if the price was right, would I be willing to sell it. I politely said no. OK, a sales call, but not a red flag. As I continue to wait in the waiting room, I saw another customer come in, was immediately approached by a service technician to follow them out to the waiting room. It said that he had a crack in the windshield. The customer claims that there is no crack in the windshield. The technician then shows a smart phone Picture of a 1/16 of an inch crack in the windshield, hidden by the window film. I would say this is a crack, not worthy of windshield replacement, but have a feeling they would fill out the form to the insurance company that it was a safety crack. There would be no other reason to replace the windshield. The technician ended with that it would take $800 off the retail sale of the vehicle if not repaired. Red flag. Now I'm highly suspect of Toyota of Venice as they're trying to drum up business and get as much money out of us they can. They realize that window replacement is covered by insurance and it's just trying to get money from the insurance company. These incidents were accumulated or making me think twice about returning to Venice Toyota. The savvy shopper will see them, but my fear is some people will just accept what they say and say fix the issues. Doing unnecessary repairs is not ethical in my book, it does not make me want to return for service. My throttle body and MAF sensor needed cleaning - and it took Toyota nearly four hours. read more

We had a new Tundra that had a lot of recalls and things go wrong with it ( too many to list here) We had a warranty on our truck and they would take it in and state the service would get done or that our parts were in and just wouldn't follow up with us on where they were. When my husband questioned why they kept the truck for multiple days and didn't fix anything, Bruce told him to shut up and listen. It got so bad over a year and a half. They scratched 3 rims when replacing tires, and stated that they did not do it. It is clear they did. If they weren't at fault then why did no one call us back about it until I filed a complaint with corporate. They also did not balance the tires when they replaced them and it took them 3 weeks to get us back in to balance and they took 6 hours to do the work. All the staff were rude, they offered no resolution and it was so bad that we just got rid of the truck due to our fear of nothing ever getting fixed. I would tell anyone I care about to avoid this service department. They do not respect their customers and I feel the staff is very badly managed. read more

Caveat emptor. Buyer beware. Dealership employed bait and switch tactics after forcing a $500 deposit for one VIN but delivered another cheaper one and then misrepresented a $300 profit fee as a government fee that I could not negotiate. Here is the issue: I put a $500 deposit down for a specific VIN but instead when I bought the car I was given another VIN. They did not tell me this. Moreover, I was also lied to about a $300 fee being for the title when it was really not for the title and was electronic fee for dealership profits. Here is a detailed summary Did not honor Toyota Corolla 6% corporate promotion despite me having an 800 credit score and 0 debt and a long history of fully paid off car loans. Instead was offered a 14% interest rate and when I commented that is crazy suddenly was offered a 7% interest rate. They claimed Toyota did not approve me, which I later found out Toyota did approve me. Did not honor Uber discount (claimed never heard of it). I have never been turned away for a firm promoted car loan in my life despite buying cars from several companies, including Honda, Toyota, Ford, and Mercedes. Did not honor recent grad discount (claimed never heard of it despite being nationwide promotion) Told me it was brand new car; the "new car" they sold me had 250 miles instead of being brand new. Did they sell me a loaner no one wanted? It had multiple phones connected to its electronics when I got it. The TSRP of the car I was negotiating on and put a deposit on was $29,372. The TSRP of the car that I was sold is $28,853. I was sold a car with $519 of less features. Unfortunately the switching of the vehicle was not disclosed to me. Bait and switch is a serious concern under the FDUTPA. $300 electronic service taxable fee. Was told and have in writing over text message that it was it was for the title. But turns out it is not a government fee but rather a dealership fee that should've been part of the doc fee and I was misled. Forced a $1700 paint protection which I asked to not include before car arrived. The finance guy would also try to hide all the papers he wanted me to sign by putting another paper on top and only showing me the signature line. If I tried to move the other paper he would make some excuse explaining what it is. He even wanted me to sign the final contract without showing my $500 down payment and I insisted I will write it in, he didn't want me to do that and finally relented and said ok I will reprint the document. Most of all I am disappointed I put down a $500 deposit for a different vin with $520 more features and was never told that I was getting another vin until i noticed it myself after I had already signed many documents. This is bait and switch tactic which I have fully documented. Also they misrepresented a $300 pure profit l fee and claimed it was for the title for the tax collector. It turns out the title is only $85 and I was already charged for it as part of my $450 registration fees. read more

They owe me money from the gap insurance on my last trade in; we have been reaching out in serveral ways (phone calls, visits to the dealership, and CERTIFIED letters) for the last 9 months with no contact, and being told "he's not here right now" and other lies. I bought a used car, they told me i could come back later that day to pick it up after it went thru detailing (the seats were very dirty and stained, they said they would detail and get the stains out). I returned later, I told them I wouldn't be back until 7pm since I was going to work and I got multiple texts trying to rush me to come get the detail (thinking this was on purpose) as once they dried the stains were still there and if I'm being honest, WORSE. I received 1 key fob and was told 6 to 10 weeks 2nd would be available. 6 months later I received a message on my Toyota app that key fobs are available. Called Venice Toyota and they made an appointment for me to come in a a week later. I was told that they are on back order. No apology, no explanation as to why they scheduled me to come in. Just said they are back ordered. I have had several bad experiences with them. When I ordered the vehicle, they asked for a $500 deposit. When I purchased the vehicle they didn't credit me for the $500 deposit. It took me two calls and 10 days to get a credit. I have left several messages for sales or service that were never returned. BE AWARE before you sign, there is a $899 "documentation fee" there is also a $949 "reconditioning fee" to make up for a oil change and tire rotation as well as an "inspection" and they also supposedly complete a detailed clean? Even though The vehicle still smells like cigarettes from the previous owner. If the car only has 1 key? That's your fault, so if you want two keys for your car you have to pay for one up front from the dealer for about $300(keep in mind they take about $500 away from your trade in value when you trade in a car without both keys) There is also a "new license plate fee" of a slamming $483. So my car that was supposed ably $4,000 off is no longer All in all, the salesmen in here are crooks only looking to make a quick buck off of someone who isn't paying attention. Over the years I have purchased seven Toyotas and two of them from Venice Toyota....last year I purchased a used Avalon with 40,000 miles on it and selected this car because I have spine issues and that particular model with it's wide seats works best for me. I pointed out a huge scratch on the back trunk of the car and was told that it could be buffed out....well it could not and I found out after taking it to two body shops (and one of them being Toyota) that it would cost me almost $1,000 to repair. I paid $41,000 for this used car and traded in a brand new Nissan Altimma with only $3,000 miles on it and was then treated like CRAP!! First and foremost they took advantage of me on the price because I am a female and even two other Toyota places were shocked at what I had paid. Plus they only gave me $500 toward the bill and one of the managers Omar hung up on me and the other manager Jeff was extremely rude saying "do you want the money or not" when I was upset they would not pay the entire amount to fix it. All of this would never have happened to a man, but sadly my husband passed away and I had no one to go with me. I will NEVER buy a car from this dealership ever again and would highly recommend anyone buying a car to go to any other Toyota dealership in the area....they don't even deserve the one star I had to give it!! read more
