Well I couldn't get one screw to work and when I called back the man on the phone said to drop by they would be happy to help, very friendly. Unfortunately when I arrived the staff was annoyed, blamed me for the screw issue, a part was missing, actually fell off and fell into the box, which I didn't see. He was irritated I was asking questions, he was very impatient and rude. I returned the $300 bike rack. If he would have taken the 15 minutes to help me you would have had a sale. I've always had positive experiences there. Not today.

Bought a new bike for grandson six months ago. Barely used bike already has flat tires due to the…read moretube stem being cut by the tire rims. Brought the bike in and they claim this is normal wear and not covered under warranty stating that the bike tire needs to be inflated every week otherwise this will happen. I have never had this occur with any bike I have ever purchased from Erik's nor any other bike for that matter. The pictures show the stem being cut at exactly the same location as the hole on the rim. If you expand the picture you can see the sharp edges on the hole that should have been filed down. I fully expect replacing the tube will only result in a cut stem again. Really disappointed that Erik's won't stand behind their product. Not worth the cost to shop here.

So, logically, when I decided that this would be the year for me to finally wrap my head around this whole "snowboarding thing" they were my go-to guy, er.. store. I stopped in mostly just to figure out what size boot I needed, since it is a bit different than fitting a ski boot or a shoe, and walked out with a really comfy, and kind of snazzy looking, pair of boots for under $200.

We came here on a suggestion for skateboard/longboard. We've been to one other store and it was meh. Trevor was our stellar longboard master help this evening. He was SO knowledgeable and patient with us. We easily sucked up almost 2 hours of his time. He went above and beyond in my opinion for customer service. We walked out with a beautiful put together long board that my daughter felt great about as a beginner- wheel color & type, bearings, & truck color of her choice- all switched out by this cool dude- Free of charge for him to give her exactly what she wanted to boot! Plus all the tools and padding needed for her to get started with. The rest of this store...now I'll admit that I have t been in too many store like this but it seems to me they have a lot of great things to offer for multiple type of "sports". Frisbee golf, water sport, winter sports... They even carry some hats, fun gloves, backpacks, sunglasses, and even summer flip flops! We will definitely be back when Emma is ready to do some upgrading or need the bearings changed on her board. These guys rock!!!

Their technicians also professionally mounted and tested the bindings when we purchased new ski boots. Despite this professional setup, the binding unexpectedly released while my son was skiing, causing him to fall. After only two ski trips, the skis were also already visibly chipped. When we brought the equipment back to the store, they refused to issue a refund. The only option they offered was a replacement from the same manufacturer, even though we had already lost confidence in the product's safety and quality. What was even more disappointing was the customer service. Both the Rochester store manager and corporate customer service were dismissive of our concerns. Instead of addressing the safety issue, they insisted the remedy would not be a refund and suggested the problem could be "as simple as a screw coming loose." They even tried to blame the situation by saying my son weighs more now than when the bindings were set, even though the bindings had been professionally adjusted and tested by their own technicians just the month before. For a shop that markets itself as a professional ski service provider, this response showed very little accountability when something goes wrong. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend buying skis or having bindings serviced here. For reference, Better Business Bureau currently lists the company with a D rating and multiple unanswered complaints.

The tape install was good, the derailleur adjustment was below what we have experienced at Flanders, Now, Behind Bars and Recovery. We are new to the area and looking for a bike shop, will try Valley again, but our first go around for service was disappointing.​ At $149, the parts that were adjusted were not cleaned, the first time we had ever seen that work done while omitting the cleaning.
