First time this morning at Play Street Museum. This place is great to let your little one explore their imagination. It's not a playground in the sense of things to climb/slide/bounce but more of using skills to play in the kitchen, with animals/camping scenarios, fishing, store, music and crafts. There's books and lego stuff too. The areas were clean as were the restrooms in the back! You must make a reservation for a window of play time. This can easily be done online on their website and a waiver must also be filled out prior. I suggest doing this beforehand so you're not wasting time when you get there and your toddler loses their mind (: Our window was from 8:30-10am. This morning was very cold at 38 degrees and windchill so indoor play was a must versus a playground. My daughter had so much fun and I know we will be back to play here. They give you a token to use on a snack for afterwards as there is no eating in the actual play area. They have toys, stuffies and board games for sale at the front of the museum. They also have an option to make slime or do a painting craft for an additional fee which is facilitated by the young woman on staff. I will say, she was the only staff/employee there but she spoke with other parents and was attentive to everyone! Will be coming back. read more

This is a cute little place. There's little "playhouses" for your child to climb in and out of. It's not a big place so you can pretty much see your child from anywhere in the room. The place gets pretty packed between 3-5. My son is 15 months old and he was getting knocked over like crazy. There were also quite a few kids that would take things away from him and even shoved him a few times. The parents never even bothered to correct their child. I've never had that problem at the McKinney or Allen locations. Toys are kind of a chaotic mess. They don't reorganize as much as the other locations do. Overall an ok place to go. This location may be better for the bigger kids since it seems the average age was about 5+. If you have a younger little one you might want to try another location. read more

Unfortunately, I wasn't thrilled with our visit to the Easter ceramic paint session that my 2 & 1/2 year old daughter and I attended this past Thursday night. It wasn't a "well oiled machine" with the structure of the event to say the least. It was my first time taking my daughter to a paint and play session at this store. I had no idea that (even though we were one of the first ones to arrive) we'd be the very last ones to get in line to get our supplies because the store associate never came up to us to tell us personally (like I saw her do to other customers out of the corner of my eye) that the paint session was going to start. I just happened to look up and notice that everyone was already in line. So, after feeling a little left out and disrespected, I went and got in line (at the end) just to find out that all of the special bunny plates were gone and we were left with just the plain pink or purple plates (another little blow). I know it might sound silly, but the bunny plate was part of the fun for my 2 1/2 year old. I really think that there should be a numbered, take a ticket system when you come through the door or when you sign up for a spot online, or the employee should've announced over the speaker in the store so that everybody could hear and be aware that the event is about to start. This having a "dog eat dog" system where it seems like the other customers greedily jump into the paint line first is not classy or respectful. It's almost like it keeps perpetuating certain families to be rude and disrespectful because they're younger or in their country and that's how they roll. This mentality of, "I'm closer to the register, so I'm first" is kind of belittling and childish. It's rewarding the families that came in 10 and 15 minutes late. In that moment, I felt like picking up my daughter, asking for a refund and leaving. It was pretty infuriating. One would think that if you pay over $21 with taxes to get a reserved spot, it would be a civilized system among the customers. It's almost like the parents are encouraged to act greedy and rude. Another thing that I didn't care for and was rude parenting from the family sitting next to us (where the mothers were wearing hijabs and also happened to be the family that came in towards the end yet jumped in line first) was that one of the mothers did not tell their 8 or 9 year old daughter not to violently wave her brush and splatter paint on the people sitting next to them. Even the lady sitting across from me complained out loud because she was getting splattered with cold paint by the child. But, the mother of the little girl never did tell her not to flip paint on people near them! She just ignored everything. If this is how the public is going to behave, then there should be rules that are announced before each paint session because some cultures obviously think that nothing is wrong with their children doing unruly things in a public situation. read more

Went today And it was packed! I know it gets crazy since it's a holiday (2/15). I had to wait about 30 minutes since they were at max capacity. Just like the Frisco location, this is an excellent indoor play area for kids. Everything is just their size. I love playing pretend with my son :) This place has an outdoor theme. "The great outdoors" very cute with cabins, fishing boat, camp trailer, picnic table. And of course the standard art/crafts area. Just like all locations the admission includes a small snack. Bathrooms are pretty clean, which is pretty impressive for a place full of kids all day. I was also VERY impressed at how hard the employees work at trying to clean up and tidy things up constantly. There was a girl who was on the go at all times!!! One star just for that! read more

My Daughter just had her birthday party here and I couldn't be more thrilled. We purchased an all inclusive package where they provided and took care of everything! Setup, food, decorating, hosting etc...Our family just literally showed up and we got to focus on our daughter having a great time. All of our guest couldn't stop saying how great the party was and how kind try he staff was. All the children were consistently engaged and having fun for nearly two hours (and these are 3&4yr olds!). Kirby and her other team member were kind and really on top of everything. Their all inclusive package is an extra investment, however you will not be disappointed in not only everything they do, but in the time you get to spending all good moments with you kids... you only get one shot at this and strongly advise to invest in their all inclusive package. read more

We had Lily's 5th birthday party and it was absolutely perfect! Kirby and Kristy went above and beyond our expectations!! They were so attentive to our needs and were always a step ahead of every move needed to be made. They were SO friendly and personable. It was an enjoyable experience for the kids...very clean...staff lovely. My complaint is that it is NOT adult friendly at all. They provide box benches so you can lean on the wall. Not a single adult chair. McDonalds has uncomfortable seating...because they don't want you to stay long. I won't return because it is simply not adult friendly...and it's so far removed that it seems on purpose. The people paying the bill should be comfortable...and should have a way to enjoy their laptop...for work/pleasure. Just my 2 cents. read more

I am so thankful to find this gem! For $12 you get access ALL day(AND A SNACK)! The ladies taking care of everything are genuinely happy to be there. They played with the kids all while picking up-which encouraged the kids to also(I'm all about that lead by example-it takes a village!) The owner obviously cares for her staff and is concerned with the entire family's experience. In the opinion of this mom Play Street is worth every penny. We are always trying to find fun places to check out with our little guy. He is now 15 months old and running all over the place so we like to keep him entertained and see new places. Play Street is a great choice. When you enter, you only pay admission per child. You're given a small, wooden token that you can exchange for a drink or snack when done playing - no eating allowed inside. The play area is awesome. There's a big plastic chute that funnels stuffed balls and scarves around (highly entertaining). A kid-sized city allows children to play adult as they shop, play house, and even pretend to fish. The place as a whole is "outdoors" themed so stuff centers around camping. I love that they feature benches where you can pull out different tubs full of toys to switch things up. Foam, puzzle pieces, blocks, you name it, they got it. Our guy likes assembling things and his attention wanes, like any toddler ;) I hear they have awesome birthday parties so we plan on checking that out someday. The second Play Street Museum location in DFW, Play Street Plano with its "great outdoors" theme is a fun place to kill time with your little ones. Similar to its sister location in Frisco, Play Street Plano is comprised of a collection of little play houses (in this case this includes a camp site, little RV, and boat along with other themed play houses) stocked with toys that allow your child to engage in imaginative play. There are also a few stations where your kiddo can color, play with a really cool styrofoamish molding compound (think of Play Doh minus the messy bits), explore more tactile sensations at a sand table, and color on a large chalkboard. My kid stuck with the artsy activities so I didn't spend a ton of time in the play house area. But just like the Frisco location, this is a very clean place and the ladies who were working were constantly cleaning up (an exercise in futility, as anyone with kids at home knows, but the gesture was appreciated). Yes, at $11 per child it is pricey and yes, after 10 a.m. it got crowded and there were a number of moms/kids waiting in the lobby. The $11 includes a token that can be exchanged for a snack for your kid. If you really want to get in right away and not have to wait, they open at 8 a.m. I'd suggest to the owners some sort of monthly pass option; I would definitely come more than once or twice a month if a discount was offered for buying a monthly pass. For your approval is my written report on Play Street Museum in Plano Texas. We arrived shortly after 10am on Friday January 22nd 2016. The place was packed with lots of children and some strange sub set of female I can only describe as a yoga pant cult. The leaders were obviously not wearing their yoga pants for actual yoga but as some sort of plumage to keep the other "lower ranking" females at bay. While speaking some sort of weird dialect they neither seemed to care about their young or any of the rules of play set forth by the owners. We cautiously entered the inner circle to explore and we're immediately pushed toward the back. This was fine as I was on a strictly observational mission and not to engage the locals without backup. The place itself was full of fun and merriment and the screams of children, while frightening at first, became obviously joyful the longer we stayed. We were able to stay at this magical place for a few hours and slightly before lunch the yoga pant cult all packed up and left, leaving us to explore their habitat without being a disturbance. I did hear one of the leaders mention some sort of play date with one of her underlings. I assume this is to further assert her dominance as the underling was wearing actual pajamas. Thus concludes my report of my time at Play Street Museum. read more

Loved our experience here! My husband and I were finalizing a purchase of a new car at a near by auto dealership so I decided to pop over here to let my daughter play for the hour or two we had to kill while waiting for our new car. We got there around noon so grant it was a slower time of day, but it was still a great atmosphere - it is very light, airy, clean and cheery! Also, I am an ECE specialist so I really appreciated the various play stations that were very thought out, safe and creative. My daughter is 22 months and could play in every area of the museum, but I think older preschoolers would enjoy it as well! The staff were great too! read more

I'll start with my summary, fun place with nice settings but costly for repeat visits and there isn't a place for grown ups to comfortably sit. This is a great place to bring little ones (LO). It's located in a strip mall type setup next to a Tom Thumb grocery store. Lots of free parking. The staff are great, friendly and helpful. You can bring drinks (like soda, coffee, water, etc.) but no food inside the play area. There's a tiny table outside the play area if you want to eat and drink. My LO enjoyed the blocks on the picnic tables before we even got to the museum works. The little picnic tables, by the way, are the only seating that's sort of sized for adults. The settings are really nice, the ranch house, the camp site, the general store, the marina and another I'm not sure what it was but it had toys and the kids enjoyed it as well. The price for entry (@$12) is moderate, better if you have 2 LO because the second is free. Will I go again, definitely. I believe they have a season pass or multiple entry option that will make the cost more reasonable. And as for the adult comfort seating, I'll put up with the little picnic table seating since my LO is having fun. read more

I tried to give my son a banana and they came over and told me that he couldn't have it-- umm I get the allergy thing but at least have a designated area where you can give your child a morsel of food. The day we went we were immediately put on a wait. The boys were able to play in the waiting room and read books. Kaci (the lady behind the counter) was extremely helpful and super sweet.
