I really wanted to like this place, it's a solid looking business model that uses locally sourced fresh organic ingredients and they're a Jersey based chain so what's the freakin problem Bill?     I ordered an Oatmeal Bowl to-go and after taking it to work I really wasn't too satisfied with the amount, or lack thereof. The Bowl had very little Oatmeal and they didn't even fill it up [as pictured].     I liked the combination of Sliced Bananas, Figs, Walnuts, and Cinnamon but if they can't even prepare a Bowl like the advertised pictures than it's just another one of those businesses that cuts corners at the expense of their customers. It was time for a healthy lunch today...or was it? Not sure how oatmeal (steel cut) with strawberries, bananas, coconut flakes, with Nutella ranks on the health scale, but it was delicious! I've been to a couple of other Playa Bowl locations, but this was my first time here in Florham Park. The service was friendly and there was more seating than the others, which was nice. It's a busy shopping center, but there's a large parking lot in the back. When I consider fast food lunch places, I do think this was healthy after all! I'll be back! read more

Came here during a work trip and coworkers were craving smoothies so I tagged along. Nice option to have where most stuff around was either sit down dining or fast food chains. They had so many options from smoothies to açaí bowls. My coworkers got smoothies and I opted for a power açaí bowl which was delicious with the peanut butter and bananas. First time trying this place out and I was so delighted with the indoor decor! It had such a summer vibe in this autumn season lol It wasnt peak time when we went so there was no wait at all and our orders came in nicely. I tried their electric mermaid pitaya bowl which is such a pretty thing! Love the dragonfruit base and the mix of mango, coconut, kiwi and banana blended so well. The granola and flakes helped give it such good and balanced texture. The Pitaya smoothie was also good. Not too sweet which was what we wanted at the time. They have so many options to choose from which is awesome but can take a while for me to decide lol so it helped that I kinda already knew what I wanted to narrow things down. This Playa Bowls location is surprisingly large inside! The front parking lot off Ridgedale Ave can get very crowded so definitely use the back parking lot which also connects back out to Brooklake Road. The menu board is large and easy to read, and the interior was very clean. The chia bowl was $9 but is jam packed with toppings it's enough for two to share or to save some for later. read more

At first glance it seems like a regular acai shop but it was so much more. When I first walked in, the vibe and atmosphere was so friendly and beachy which I absolutely loved! The walls were painted blue and there were painted palm trees. There were surfboards hung up on walls and on the ceiling (as decor obviously) and the menu was a super cool chalkboard with several different colors. There were so many options to choose off of the menu and you can even mix 2 bases if you cant pick. The available bases I can remember are acai, pitaya, chia pudding, kale, mango, coconut, and oatmeal (theres probably tons more!). I always go at least once a week to this place because it's THAT good! I have never tried something I didn't like. My go-to order is the 8th Ave Acai Bowl and the Flamingo Bowl (Pitaya Base) because they are just soooo good! They put granola at the bottom, then the base, then MORE GRANOLA, and bananas on top. The best thing though is the honey that they drizzle on top at the end. You can even buy their honey and granola separately for yourself to put it on whatever you'd like! The service is awesomd as well! They are so nice and helpful and they always make you feel welcome. The prices are a bit high for bowls but they're soooo worth it. read more

Asked for no coconut I'm deathly allergic I took a bite thinking it was without coconut it took a 5 year coma to recover.

NEVER order from this specific location. I have to order 10 bowls a week for my office because my boss loves it and so does the staff but we refuse to call this location anymore so I drive a little farther out of the way now. They filled all 10 bowls on several occasions less than 20% full! Every other location gives you a full bowl but for some reason you get screwed here on every single order. They just lost so much business because of this - its so frustrating because its closer but we can't wrap our heads around them screwing us after such big orders weekly. read more

I asked for a very simple order: plain açaí bowl with nutella. I pick my bowl up. I look at it. There's the TINIEST CHEAPEST LITTLE DROP of nutella ever. I paid an extra $2 for this (usually nutella is $1 but I didn't say anything). I asked the worker super kindly for some more nutella - because I paid for it. We haven't gone to this Playa in over a year for the same reasons I wouldn't go back after today. They barely put any acai in their bowls, half the bowl is granola. It is robbery what they charge to barely fill the bowl with fruit. I also order a booster bowl every time I go to a Playa- this is the only location that never puts peanut butter throughout the bowl and the middle tastes like protein powder instead of spirulina/peanut butter/ banana. 3rd time I've thrown it out after a few bites because it's gross. I love playa bowls in general because they are tasty. There are too many kids working here and unfortunately they do not take orders properly. They always seem to get it wrong. also noticed that they wear gloves to keep things hygienic (I'm guessing) but then are touching things and their faces (nose, etc) with the gloves ( which defeats the purpose). read more

Very clean place and smoothie was delicious. But my smoothie was not blended correctly, huge chunks of fruit throughout which made it difficult to drink through a straw, had to use a spoon. There were 5 teenagers working the counter, 2 of them on their phones the entire time and all were more concerned about socializing with each other than actually taking care of customers.
