I go to this Playa Bowls regularly and sometimes have had bad experiences with the workers, but today was an all-time low. When I walked in the music was blasting and the person working behind the register had EarPods in her ears. When I went up to the counter she seemed very annoyed and was not welcoming. I proceeded to place my order and she confirmed with me what I wanted because it seemed like she couldn't hear me. I had to lean over the register just for her to hear what I was saying. When I got my order, my order was wrong. When I told her that my order was wrong, she rolled her eyes and looked at me and said that's why I confirmed with you and then proceeded to say "you people speak so low." I'm not sure what she meant by that but it was very offensive. I plan to never go back to this Playa Bowls and will travel just to not be treated this way. Like I said before, this isn't the first time I've had bad experience with the workers here but this is just the one that took the cake for me to write this review. Very disappointing. read more

But it's all good, you can be a mad scientist when you visit, ans it's super easy to sub something out if you're not a fan. Acai bowls, elevated. You could get other bases such as coconut, banana, or a green one which I forgot what it contained. There's oatmeal as well. Is it the healthiest? I dunno. That would require looking at ingredients and the nutrition label. Do I care? Well, not when I'm in the mood for something sweet and healthier than a lot of other options out there. Nice club perks for being a loyal customer. If you accumulate enough points, you could get 3 bucks off an order, or even get a free bowl. Pretty cool. Time will tell how this place does in Rye. i received my bowl melted, i was basically eating acai soup and i got my bowl fairly quick.

This place used to be decent. You really shouldn't charge two times for extra toppings if I'm replacing peanut butter with almond butter and blueberries for banana. Can I at least have My blueberries and peanut butter to go if I'm charged? Also, watched coconut mixed with some liquid that made it half melted three times. Could have been a smoothie instead of a coconut bowl. No more for Me. read more

Have been to Playa Bowls all over NY and FL Bc it's literally my favorite smoothie place. The smoothies are consistently good and have never ever had a bad experience. Never have I ever experienced a WORST customer service. I came with 2 friends and while we are waiting for our food we picked up 2 bags to put our bowls into to go. The women in a purple rugrats sweatshirt than said " CAN WE STOP TAKING THESE BAGS ". Very nasty and rudely and then proceeded to grab all the bags in customer reach from the counter and remove them. 1) why do u have bags in front of customers on the counter if we can't take them 2) it's a bag to put my food in..... 3) she was so rude i will just go to the white plains location from now on. If you're so unhappy with ur job get a new one instead of taking your nasty attitude out on paying customers. Maybe go about it nicely and say I'm sorry u guys can't have those. Horrible horrible horrible. Even the other employees looked embarrassed by her actions. And mind you this place is filled with children as well. read more

I work in Rye and found this place by chance. What a great surprise. My first visit to was so fun. I was the only one in the store and they gave me samples of all the bowl bases. A perfect lunch for a hot summer day. Healthy, cool and refreshing An entirely different experience today. The place as very crowded and the severs seemed to be having trouble finding the ingredients and preparing the orders. Ok I will give them the benefit of the doubt. It is a new store and new employees. But when someone asked me if I was ready to order she seemed bothered to even ask me the question. She was wearing her mask around her chin. When I asked her, wasn't she supposed to be wearing her mask, she glared at me and pulled up over her mouth. Then when I asked , wasn't she supposed to wear over her nose, her glare became even meaner. This is supposed to be a store serving healthy food? And the staff is not following healthy protocols and wearing masks? And then when corrected, they are silently fuming. Not a good look. Healthy food should be surrounded by healthy people. read more

Awesome bowls and smoothies. The customer service though is seriously lacking. I came in around lunch to pickup my order which I got a text that it was ready. None of the employees greeted anyone coming through the door. There was a line of 8 customers waiting in line to order. No one even acknowledged them or took their order. Several people walked out. The manager who was on duty ignored everyone and didn't address any of the customers who were looking for their pick up orders. I waited in the store for 30 mins and finally walked out with a refund. Meanwhile the manager didn't say a word. Instead had a grumpy face on like she didn't want to be there. If this was my franchise I would not want my store run this way. Went in for the first time today to get a post-work out smoothie with my friend . We purchased an açaí bowl and 2 smoothies ( matcha and orange power). From the first sip I had of the matcha I noticed I could taste the grain from the powder which immediately made me think it wasn't mixed in well enough. Once I gave the Orange power to my brother he said he also tasted the graininess from his drink as well. Like I said first time Iv been here so I don't know if this is normal however I have had matcha before and it's never tasted like this. I had a few sips and threw it out. After about an hour both my brother and I (ones with the smoothies) got extremely sick ( This was also the first thing we had eaten all day) . When I called the location to let them know of the smoothies I was told by the assistant manager that they are suppose to be grainy as the matcha has a powdered and the orange power has a whole orange ( with peel). Once again I told her that Iv never tasted a matcha drink so grainy before and questioned how much they mixed it . She then said she would pass me to the general manager who ended up never coming on the phone however I did hear her scream in the background " that's ridiculous " . I did end up getting a refund from this location however I do not see myself coming back in the future. read more

I waited over 20 minutes for 4 bowls and a smoothie when we were one of 2 customers in the store. One bowl came back incomplete (missing toppings) and another missing the peanut butter asked for. They forgot about our smoothie and gave us attitude when we told them. Do not recommend this place. read more

I ordered the pink pitaya smoothie for my daughter and the aloha smoothie for myself from the Rye location. I couldn't wait to try mine after a long day and week at work, but unfortunately it literally had no taste whatsoever. My daughter took a sip of hers and also said the same thing! She tasted nothing! We brought them home for her brother and father to try. They too agreed that both smoothies had no taste at all. I am so disappointed because I paid $20 for them and got two bad drinks for that price. I will not be ordering smoothies from them again. read more

I ordered a man Aloha Smoothie and within 3 minutes, it was ready. The taste was great, and the service was phenomenal. They also had many gluten free and vegan options that my group took advantage of, which was a high plus. I would definitely return to this establishment. read more
