Absolutely obsessed with this place! I love the vibes here the girls are so sweet and kind, and very quick! I come here in the mornings bright & early at 8AM and they have my bowl ready in seconds. Not to offend the other locations but I usually wait like 5-10 minutes in Englewood. The Westwood location is my number 1 pick. They aren't cheap with their topping. I'm annoying and picky and ask for the strawberries to be cut very small and they do it with out a problem, I love that. Lastly, they follow instructions!!! They literally read my notes and follow exactly how I want my bowl. Anytime I come here I easily give them a $2-$4 tip. 10/10 highly recommended, again the staff is A1 here! I love açaí and have tried several different places while living in Florida. However, to me, nothing compares to Playa Bowls. It is my favorite açaí ever and is the perfect blend of sweetness. On a recent road trip, I was super excited to find that this location was on the way to the Tappan Zee Bridge, off the highway, so I stopped on a Sunday afternoon. I ordered the Nutella bowl with gluten free granola and without coconut flakes. It is my favorite bowl. It was ready in literally 2 minutes. I was very happy I didn't have to wait long and enjoyed my açaí bowl very much!! It was delicious. I do wish they would put Nutella on top of the fruit though like other locations do. If you ever want a tasty snack go here. They have all types of smoothie type beverages & fruit bowls. My bowl of choice is the Nica Bowl. It's pretty much like smashed up banana on the lower half of the bowl. The rest of it is filled with slices of strawberry & banana, crunchy granola, tiny bits of chocolate chips, peanut butter & walnuts. I've eaten at quite a few playa bowls and this is definitely on the bottom of the list. They cannot follow orders correctly whether in person or from Uber eats. The people behind the counter are basically children that do not care about your business or your order. You can see that in how they take your order and prepare your food. They cannot even mix in the protein in their overly sweet bowl. The juice appears to have unwashed fruit thrown into the juicer. The customer service at this location has to be the rudest I have experienced, and frankly Im shocked because typically all the locations are very nice. I called back to complain after picking up my playa bowl that the Acai was completely melted, like soup. The girl insisted I was wrong (lol, huh???) because they always put them in the fridge. I told her in fact it was not in the fridge when I arrrived (she barely let me tell the story) and the girl behind the counter looked in the fridge, could not find my order, I showed her my phone, she turned around and said oh here it is on the counter (with no name on it, but it was mine) . Customer service 101, don't accuse the customer of being wrong, hello, I would not take the time to complain if it were not melted and I live not even 10 min from the store. The manner in which I was spoken too was so rude, accusing me of yelling at her when I said I had her on speaker so maybe i sound louder....The girl refused to give me her name because she insisted she's a minor and doesnt have too, seriously Im not asking for your full name, but I need a first name to complain to your manager, so it just went down hill from there where the shift manager started the same line of rude-tone questioning, well, when did you pick it up, when did you place the order, I said, Im not going to repeat what happened, at this point Im complaining to your Manager and I need a first name so she knows who I am talking about. and I said its melted, it was not in the fridge this is a ridiculous line of questioning, Im only asking for the names of who I am speaking to, again first names, to complain to their manager...I swear, take a class in customer service etiquette, Im sorry this happened to your order, lets refund you, plain and simple...not the 10th degree line of questioning, rudeness, and plain stupidity. read more

I went to Playa Bowls for the first time today and it did not disappoint! The girls working there were very nice and the service was quick. The price is actually pretty good, for $10-$14 you get a big portion that will fill you up. I ordered the Electric Mermaid and the Chia Tella for a total of $23. The bowls were actually very beautiful too, I almost didn't want to ruin it lol. The decor is super cute as well and gives off tropical/beach vibes. Will definitely be coming back soon! read more

Boy am I glad I discovered Playa Bowls in Westwood NJ. I have been to other stores that serve acai bowls but no one compares to this location. I live 40 minutes away but I come here everyday to get an acai or banana bowl. My favorites are the Nutella and Nica. They prepare the bowls with care - very generous portion, very fresh ingredients and the presentation is AWESOME ! Any bowl would really fill you up. I could go on and on how great their bowls are but the best part why I come here daily and travel 40 minutes is the STAFF ! They could not be any more friendlier. My daughter and her friend went to Playa Bowls Westwood this afternoon and ordered 1 smoothie totaling $6.99 each. When my daughter received her change she was given $.051 back. When she questioned the balance the cashier told her that we don't have any additional change right now and discarded the receipt. The same thing happened with her friend. So now these girls were short-changed $2.50 each. When I called this evening to speak to the manager, I was able to speak to the shift manager. When I explained to him what had happened, he said, we don't have a change in the store and we have signs up saying we don't have change, and that all the store has is $20 in the register? How is that acceptable? So you just shortchange 2 kids $2.50 each. What if I only had $5 to pay for my $6.99 smoothie? Would that be acceptable? How are you running a business by not giving change back? Why not do the right thing give them a voucher for a free smoothie in the future? OR tell them to come back another time to get their change.
