The owner was wonderful. I can tell he definitely put time and sweat into his restaurant. Fresh ingredients. Love the eggs sausage traditional breakfast. Potatoes were seasoned well. Rolling pins have been must-have equipment in kitchens ever since people started baking with flour. It is such a simple tool that is a long, thin cylinder used to flatten dough into sheets by rolling it out on a wooden or marble board. It has two handles on the side, making it easier to use. It can be made of wood or plastic. Located across from the train station, we decided on a celebratory meal at this popular spot for brunch/lunch in Westwood. A reservation was made for a party of 7 via Yelp. Upon arrival inside this cozy interior featuring retro decorations filled with rolling pins from ages past with several tables, we were greeted by the staff and checked in at The Rolling Pin Cafe. We were directed next door to their annex building, where it was warm and homey but with more seating. We were once more greeted by the staff and managed to get a table by the window. Their menu contains classic comfort foods for breakfast and lunch with specials rotating weekly. My partner, our friends, and I decided on the Pin Platter, Chicken Salad Sandwich, NJ Sloppy Joe Sandwich, Pesto Turkey Sandwich, Chocolate Chip Pancakes with Strawberries, Avocado Toast Platter, and 1/2 Smoked Turkey Sandwich with Mac & Cheese. The sandwiches accompanied their house-made sweet potato salad. Everything continues to be made on-site, so it's remained fresh and has that genuine homemade taste with wonderful flavors, which is hard to find these days. Portions were generous, and the price was reasonable. My wife has been coming to this establish for more than 15 years and she is convinced that the quality of the food here has never fallen. To be fair, all she orders is the chicken salad sandwich and she has order nothing else. Today, that changed as we ordered the Apple Cranberry Crisp à la mode along with her Chicken Salad sandwich and that dessert was delicious! It wasn't too sweet and it had me thinking "what kind of apples do they use for this?" It even got reactions from everyone who dined nearby us in the restaurant. So the ambiance was very friendly as while it appeared like they were regulars, they were not because they've never seen the Apple Cranberry Crisp in person. We took our four month old infant and the place was accommodating to that as well. The decor was very traditional but very clean, like you were in the dining room of the golden age of your grandma's house (I hope that makes sense like it does for me). Anyway, I had the NJ Sloppy Joe and that was also delicious - especially with the sweet potato salad that came with it. I also had the cappuccino and the affogato because I had no coffee yet by this point of the day and I had to double down on my espresso intake lol. This place transports you to the country! The service is fast and it is a nice place to meet up with a friend for breakfast or lunch. The table clothes are antique and the various rolling pin decorations are delightful to see. The servings are ample and tasty and the bakery items are fresh. I came here for lunch with my friend who is very picky. We ordered a hot coffee, peach ice tea. Half quiche half salad, she ordered half salad half soup. The butternut squash soup was promptly sent back due to lack of of seasoning and flavor. But the server was gracious to replace it with turkey pesto sandwich half. They refilled our coffee and drinks and the food was okay, I haven't been back in over 25 years so I did not know what to expect, the portions are large but I am not sure if I would come back. read more

We enjoyed this quaint little restaurant with rolling pins on the walls. The food was fresh and tasty and the staff was good.

I have been to the cafe once before when it was in the original location. Now, they opened up a bigger room a couple of doors down to accommodate more guests. The atmosphere of the big room was not as homey as the restaurant two doors down. I got the pinwich sandwich, which came with soft scrambled eggs, bacon and avocado with cheese on the side. It was very yummy! I also got a raspberry iced latte with almond milk. I rarely see raspberry offered as a flavor and that is one of my favorites so was exciting. Our server seemed a bit overwhelmed but she took it in stride and was attentive. She answered all of our questions and did a great job navigating all of the tables she was responsible for. Food: - The food was great, a nice light and healthy lunch. We got the half sandwich and salad and a green salad with tuna. The roasted zucchini sandwich was far better than I could have imagined. I came here for lunch with my two best friends after trying on bridesmaid dresses. It was one of my friend's favorite places and she wanted us to try it. I completely understand why it was her favorite. The place is so popular that it has two buildings with seating! The main restaurant was full, so were were sat in the secondary restaurant building, which had more seating and could actually be a good place to have an event. We were seated right away and didn't have to wait. We were greeted immediately by our waitress; great service! My friend ordered a coke and my other friend and I got vanilla chai lattes. They were heavier than I imagined and I think mine had whole milk instead of the oat milk I asked for. This is my only complaint.
