If you think you need an all inclusive fancy resort to have a fabulous time in Playa, you are wrong!
We stayed at Playa Palms for five nights after reading stellar reviews online. The hotel itself is a boutique hotel and very beautiful. The rooms are priced MORE than reasonably and I have to say, the staff is amazing. We worked the most with Luis and Carlos and they were so wonderful, helpful and professional. The rest of the working staff were excellent as well.
The room we stayed in had everything we needed for an excellent price. It was exactly what we needed and included a great balcony overlooking the ocean and a kitchen. For an affordable price, you can schedule to have breakfast delivered to your room each morning - it was so wonderful to begin each morning with breakfast on the balcony!
The beach had a little more seaweed than we thought it would - but the staff left great correspondence on our table when we checked I alerting us of this issue and that the area was experiencing more seaweed than usual. They weren't cleaning it off the beach because they didn't want to disrupt the ocean's natural cleansing - which I thought was admirable. It really didn't bother us at all, just didn't expect it!
What we loved about Playa was it's location in position to the touristy 5th Ave. The hotel itself is more off the beaten path, but is about 2-3 blocks from 5th Ave. If you are looking for an area that's low key and not so touristy, this area probably isn't for you. Fortunately, my partner and I were looking for this type of experience. 5th Ave has endless amounts of stores, restaurants, bars and clubs. It really is a unique little area. It even has malls within walking distance.
I've read reviews that complained about noise - as Playa is located two buildings down from a club. We didn't have any trouble and we were never disturbed throughout the night.
Thank you so much for the great stay, Playa Palms! We would definitely stay here again! read more
