Secrets Impression Moxche in Mexico is on another level. The food quality is hands down the best I have ever had at any all inclusive resort. Every restaurant feels like a true five star experience with unreal flavors and beautiful presentation. The property is stunning the service is flawless and it never feels crowded. If you want a luxury adults only getaway this place easily sets the bar.

For the price, this place should have 6 stars. Regular price for base room is $1200/night. I found a deal literally 2 weeks out for. 4 night for about $4500. At checkin they wanted $750 as deposit. No debit cards accepted. They push this and I pushed back as this was prepaid. Now they pass me on to timeshare person. Thanks. After 15 minutes at this luxury resort I get rid of him. Now Im not happy. This is also advertised as no check in/out time. Desk acted like they didn't get the several emails and the email about my bday. About we 3pm we got our beautiful room. By second day, every staff now knew our names. Butler at ur service asap. However, there are still offering house yuck wine and yuck sparkling wine. For 1200/night I expected better. Asked for some premium tequila it ain't here etc. Now the pools with the usb chargers for ur phone and food pretty much wherever was awesome. Disappointed when u go the regular Secrets side n the service is not good. There's 100 pools. So fun. But I never got offered a drink on that side. Yikes. The nighttime speakeasy was fun and only time I got tipsy. What are they doing to the liquor? Unless I find a deal no way I would pay these prices

Rock solid luxury that pleases all the senses, along with delicious food, great views and so much more. ***Full disclosure- we are not bougey, high maintenance, life styles of the rich and famous type people. Just an ordinary 2 earner working couple with 3 kids and a mortgage living the chaos of American life- work, school, kids afterschool activities during the week and birthday parties and sports/games on the weekends.*** Decided to go all out for my wife's birthday: first class RT with 3 nights at Impression Moxche followed by 3 nights at Secrets Akumal. We got a complimentary 25 minute foot massage at Moxche Spa on day 1 and later booked an epic couples package: 50 minutes of hydrotherapy followed by an 80 minute couples massage (masseuses Diana and Patricia were spectacular!) We tried food from Suki (Asian, hibachi upgrades available), Cielo (Impressions only, rooftop), Market Cafe (buffet breakfast/lunch) , Coco Cafe (24 hr coffee shop with lite bites, snacks and ice cream) and the "Tour of Mexico". We loved everything at Cielo: lunch, dinner, drinks, rooftop pool with infinity edge, service, activities, the view... all over the top! Big hits were the ribeye with beetroot side for dinner and the aguachile rojo for lunch. We did find the hidden speakeasy, Gypsy Club! Opens at 10:30 with a DJ who was absolutely slaying it; coupled with a fog machine, intense lighting and an outstanding interior design, this spot was a hidden treasure. We danced the night away between shots of Patron while making new friends and many more memories. Only a few down sides of Moxche: 1. The beach is nothing special- sargasso, large black bladder type barriers alongside the shore. 2. The tour of Mexico (outdoor dining event where you wander through different regions sampling the areas fare) was a great idea, but we found the food to be pretty simple and nothing really wowed us. 3. Finally, the pool temps could stand to be cooler, and more refreshing for such hot and humid days with blazing sun. All in all, this was a splurge but one that was well worth it. The service is out of this world and fits well with the plush, high end rooms, amenities and all that Impressions Moxche offers... memories were made!

Spent 5 nights here in mid-October celebrating our 10 year anniversary and had a wonderful time. The food was delicious, drinks were good (minus the wine which was disappointing), and the hotel room was absolutely gorgeous. The hotel is beautiful all around - the room, the lobby, the restaurants - it's all very well designed. Service was very friendly and usually quick, though once or twice we waited longer than we would have liked, and room service definitely took too long. Highlights were the food at Teodoro, Cielo, and the Japanese restaurant. The rooftop pool at Impressions was beautiful and we never had to worry about finding a spot by the pool. We would show up at the pool at a variety of different times - sometimes early, sometimes late - there was always a spot for us and always shade. The vibe of this pool is chill - think violin music or spa music. If lively is what you want in a pool then the Secret side would be better. We enjoyed a couples massage and hydrotherapy at the spa and both were great. Spa is beautiful and relaxing and the staff there are great. We would definitely go back here!!

Dealing with the resort Econcierge and booking has been a total NIGHTMARE. Resort will pull a BAIT AND SWITCH, and will not honor what is clearly listed on their website and booking websites on you- especially if you booked through a third party (Costco) in my case. This is false advertising, they know they can get away with this because you've already paid the money and they will try to recoup as much money back in shady business practices. This is definitely not 5 star service and to call themselves a 5 star luxury business is a joke. As marked on their own website and multiple booking websites, people who are staying in Master Suites and above are entitled to unlimited dining at Teodoro, their fine dining restaurant at the resort. For those in a signature suite, a 5 night minimum is required for one complimentary dinner at Teodoro. I even called the reservations line at Impressions to confirm that unlimited dining would be included for master suites and above. I booked a master suite ocean front view for 4 nights and tried to make reservations ahead of time at Teodoro through their direct phone line at Impressions. When I called, they looked up my reservation and told me only two dinners at Teodoro would be included for my stay. When I tried to escalate this that we shouldn't have any limitation, Jessica Barbosa said she would have to speak to her supervisor and get back to me by email. She of course did not get back to me and it required multiple phone calls to her to try and get a response. I then asked her to at least reserve the two nights at Teodoro she had initially said was included with my reservation - which she set up for me. A few hours later she emailed me to tell me that her supervisor has said no, actually we are not entitled to any nights at Teodoro without incurring extra charges because we are a third party booking and she will be canceling my already made dinner reservations. So we went from unlimited to two to none at all! Who would have thought that bringing this matter up to a supervisor would only make your experience even worse? Talk about a triple bait and switch! After I threatened to cancel they are now telling me they will allow ONE complimentary dinner at Teodoro, how generous of them! Please note my extreme sarcasm here... After speaking with Costco travel, the very kind agent was appalled when I told him what happened, the resorts behavior is unacceptable and they are absolutely illegally breaking their contract they have with Costco by refusing to honor their own listing perks. To treat third party booking sites like red head step children when these booking sites have made contracts that bring them thousands upon thousands of bookings and business is unacceptable. We are still paying thousands for our booking and to be treated like third class citizens with shady bait and switch practices is disgusting. I'll be cancelling and going to Atelier instead. Spend your money at a place that honors their word and contracts.

Do not waste your money on Impression Moxché. If you are interested in or seeking a Secrets-style experience, save yourself the money and book at the regular Secrets next door to Impression. Pegged as the "highest level of luxury all-inclusive service and amenities," this hotel is nothing of the kind. The food--at both the Impression-only restaurants and at the wider array of Secrets restaurants--is uniformly mediocre (or worse). The service is likewise terrible; while the people themselves are very friendly and polite, the system they are working in makes good service impossible. 70 minutes for a room service order, which will likely arrive cold. 40-60 minutes for drinks or food at the Impression pool. And the much-touted "butler" service is really just someone pushing you to participate in activities and events--not someone providing services you might want, like restaurant reservations or more snacks for your minibar. (Only one of the 10+ restaurants takes reservations--so you get the pleasure of waiting for what will be a bad meal.) Our room was lovely, the bed was comfortable, the towels fluffy. But the "plunge pool" is just an outdoor bathtub, with no built-in jets or water heater to keep the temperature up. Our minibar had some nice drinks but only a small can of Pringles and a pack of peanut M&Ms. (That's it; and our request to our "butler" for more snacks was ignored.) Ok, maybe we could live with that; you can see from the photos how nice it looks. But pictures can be deceiving, and the rest of our experience was so awful and the food being so overwhelmingly terrible, meant this is not in any way a luxury experience. Save your money and go somewhere else. Only giving it two stars instead of one because the room itself was nice.

What an amazing experience , the service was good. The food was pretty good. View nice hotel and the staff was amazing. The beach wasn't all of that. But overall I had a good time with family and friends!

This hotel is amazing, we got the all inclusive package, which includes a personal butler that you can text and ask for anything. The hotel about eight dining rooms for dinner and have eaten in five of them, which are all four star plus. They have multiple pools, including rooftop pools and hot tubs. The rooms are large and have an indoor and outdoor hot tub. I'm just so impressed. I just can't say enough. I'll be back

I do not have the words to describe this resort. The food was amazing, the views impeccable, service was eh. We planned this vacation for pure relaxation. Our package came with a concierge (as with all the book on the impression side). Our concierge was not good, we checked in and that was the most we ever saw him. However, we didn't come to utilize that option so it didn't sway us either way the; times we didn't need him we just found somebody else to answer. We spent most of our time at Cielo Rooftop. Ground were well kept.

We had such an incredible experience here recently! We used points to book our all-inclusive stay, and everything about it was so luxurious. Here's a breakdown of the highlights: ROOMS: The rooms are simply stunning. So well-decorated and classy, with a stocked mini-fridge, tons of toiletries, and even a tub out on the patio! The photos don't do it justice. AMENITIES: With your room on the Impression side, you get a butler! You can message them for any needs throughout the day or night. Ours were sometimes a bit slow to respond but we appreciated the extra care. They also offer room service 24/7 to your room, with a secret door so you don't have to come to the door to get it! SERVICE: We made so many wonderful connections with the staff here. Everyone from the bartenders to the waiters and beyond were so friendly and hospitable. It really made the space feel even more welcoming and luxurious! FOOD: There were 10+ options for food around the resort, which was one of the things we were most excited about! I'll be sharing reviews of each restaurant because they all deserve their day in the sun, but I'll just say here that every meal was incredible. And the fact that the quality was THAT high for an all-inclusive was even more impressive! I will say, while we loved every restaurant one of our highlights was the taco truck that came out every night. We always tried to leave room for a taco nightcap! The crepe stand next to it every night was a huge hit, too. ACTIVITIES: We aren't big on activities, but there are plenty of them here! We watched a few of the fun games at the "game pool" and it was hilarious. ENTERTAINMENT: There's so much to do, thank goodness our butler reminded us of things! We watched a show in the theater one night, went to the speakeasy for a clubbing experience another night, listened to an indigenous music group another night, and watched a fire show at a beachside barbeque another night. There was truly no shortage of things to watch and do! ROOFTOPS: This was probably the highlight of staying at Impression. As an Impression guest, you get access to the rooftop on top of that side of the resort hotel rooms, as well as the main rooftop for Preferred guests. Both had incredible infinity pools, hot tubs, and amazing huts and lounge areas that were never overfull! We oftentimes had the Impression rooftop to ourselves - which made it extra special when my partner proposed on the rooftop at sunset. When I think of Impression, I'll think first of the rooftops!

Americans are concerned about cooking to Cancun. Rightly so. However, this resort is about couple miles from the entrance to the resort itself and seems pretty safe. Service was amazing. Everyone is very courteous, helpful. I mean at impression, we have a Butler assigned to us 24x7. We texted her/him for everything, reservation, prepare the jacuzzi in the balcony etc. If you are going to Impression, do eat at the restaurants for Impression only. They are much better than the Moxché. Even breakfast. The place is like a cruise on land. Everything included even have wine tasting which we didn't go. The roof top pool also a must go.

I booked this hotel at 29k Hyatt points a night before the increase; it is now double so this stay was well worth it. We stayed in the middle of January and according to our butler, they were at 50% capacity. Service: Service here is amazing. You are assigned a butlers for your stay who walk you to your room and explain how things work at the hotel after check in. We mainly dealt with one of the 3 assigned butlers (Sergio). He was amazing and remembered everything, like saying happy birthday to my friend. The service at restaurants and pools were also great. The waitress at Seaside remembered us with our side order for hot sauce every morning. The pool workers keep track of people coming/going and set up the chairs/cabanas for you. Only problem I had with service was maintenance getting my TV to work. In Room Amenities: Soaps, sunscreen (recommend bringing your own sunscreen as spf15 is too low and it costs $50 at the shop), mosquito repellant, hair dryer, steamer (works really well), bath salts (you can request in the app, called bath crystals or ask your butler). Other Amenities: For impressions, a 25 min massage is included. We got a scalp massage which included some shoulder massaging while my friend got the foot massage which included the legs. There is also a decent fitness gym (we went to take a look but didn't actually use it). Additionally, laundry is free and they will return it folded or hung with a 2 day turnaround. Drinks: At check in, they ask what kind of alcohol you like to bring a small bottle up the next day. My friend wanted the aged rum and got regular white Bacardi rum and I wanted mezcal and got aged tequila. Already in the room is a nice small bottle of Clase Azul tequila (extra charge if you want it at the hotel bars). We just brought these home since any drinks were included at the hotel. The impressions lobby bar had the more premium booze like Maccallan 12 and if you want the best espresso martinis, you can get it at the Dark Horse sports bar. Food: Food here is better quality than other all inclusives. All the ceviches are amazing. We mainly stayed at impressions restaurants. Out of all the food that we've tried, here are my favorites: -(Impressions) Cielo Lunch: Hamachi Tartar, Aguachile Rojo, Octopus main -(Impressions) Seaside Breakfast: Rosti (ask for a side of hot sauce if you want some spice, you won't regret it) -(Impressions) Seaside Lunch: Shrimp and lobster ceviche, bluefin tuna tiradito, choripan, frozen guava -Suki Dinner: *jalepeno ponzu hamachi* (this was the best dish that we had, came back for dinner #1 3 days in a row), roasted whole duck (requires 4 people, limited quantity-only 2 the day we went and we got the 2nd and there is extra charge if you aren't impressions) -Taco stand: The chorizo tacos were amazing (we didn't try any of the others but heard good things about it all) and are open late into the night if you're still hungry. Since we were staying 5 nights, the signature restaurant was included which included a 7 course menu with a local wine pairing. If you weren't staying 5 nights it would cost $250 per person. Reservations are mandatory and recommend making reservations a few days before arrival when they reach out via email. We were only able to make a 9pm reservation for my friend's birthday dinner. We thought this was a skippable experience, there's better impressions restaurants. Roads Through Mexico: Unfortunately there was forecasted rain so they moved the event indoors and the experience just didn't feel right as each region of Mexico just seemed to mesh together. I feel like the tacos were ok, we preferred the taco stand better but the drinks were good (Cantaritos and horchata). Pools: Impressions get access to all pools. The warmest pool is at the preferred rooftop but I enjoyed the cool impressions main pool as that's where the pool activities are and is less busy than the Cielo impressions rooftop. Also, the full seaside lunch menu is served at the main pool while only a limited selection is available at the Cielo rooftop. Cabanas were readily available at both impressions pools after breakfast each day. Activities: My friend and I did the pool-based activities-Aqua jumping and poolbiking. I enjoyed the poolbiking a lot and wished they did it more often. My partner and I also participated in the 1 hr bike tour which made stops along the way. Beware the first stop has a lot of mosquitos so put on mosquito repellent! My friend and I also did some arts and crafts making mini piñatas. Night Activities: There is a show every night and after that the club opens. The shows are fun with two rows roped off for impressions and they can order drinks with the bartender there while everyone else got drinks outside. We also went to the speakeasy Gypsy club once (password provided by the butler everyday or at the show, although I didn't see anyone asking for a password when we went) and it was ok, not really my scene.

Had an amazing anniversary trip. Our Butlers were Diego and Alexis - Provided outstanding service and even made our anniversary special by making our room special with flowers and treats. Bartenders were awesome especially our new friends Irving and Willberth serving the best drinks. at the Poolside Miss Paloma was amazing and others who took great care to have drinks and food ready. On the entertainment side I cannot say enough about the staff. Axel was great on the bike tour and provided some amazing magic tricks and Jose along with Juan and Fermin and the whole staff put on amazing shows including the Secrets Idol which I got to be a part of! (also did Tuesday Karaoke with that crew! at Dark Horse) Francisco at the BAR took great care of us! They made us all feel great! The market breakfasts were AWESOME. My favorite restaurant was Ember - Filet and short Rib with shrimp.

The service is impeccable. The staff go above and beyond to cater to you. We received 2 pillow cases embroidered with our kids names as soon as we arrived to the room on the first day. Every evening with turndown service the kids were left special little gifts made locally (little wooden animals, knitted toys, etc). So many little touches were personalized - which were thoughtful and made the best gifts we could've received. The staff knew our names, were kind to our kids, and went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. Our butler was attentive to our needs and accommodated every request. The drink/food service at the pool cabanas and the beach was great as well. The property is absolutely stunning. Of the hotels in the area, this one is by far the nicest, most private and without the typical commercial crowd. Given the location, definitely bring mosquito repellent for when you're spending time outside the room by the water. Overall, absolutely love Rosewood and will surely be returning to this location. It felt private, secluded and quiet. We booked a Rooftop Ocean View Suite, but were delighted to get upgraded to the Two Bedroom villa. A bump from 966 to 1562 square feet of space (not including the extra outside space). The welcome drinks, popsicles (for the kids) and guacamole were great and of course the dramatic boat ride to your suite is one of a kind. The suites at Rosewood Mayakoba are amazing. Even the small suites are spacious (I think their smallest room is 788 sqft). Our suite had plentiful outdoor space, its own dock to the lagoon, a private plunge pool and also a large rooftop terrace. Truly too much space for our family of four (2 adults, 2 kids), but we happily enjoyed it. Service was stellar, which I expected at a high-end hotel. My most recent vacations have been to the Caribbean, so the combination of Mexican hospitality along with the Rosewood service really made for a nice stay. Our butler stayed in contact with us via Whatsapp, but we really didn't have many requests except for booking dinner reservations and ordering more cow's milk to the room for our baby. Our kids had their own monogrammed pillowcases, that we took home. The turn-down service also left small wooden figurines (indigenous) which was a nice touch for the kids. There's definitely an extra attention to detail that's on another level from other hotels. We were able to get a bike with training wheels and also a trailer for the kids to go on short bike rides with. The kids club was very good. Lots of planned activities throughout the day and an air conditioned indoor play area. Our daughter was 3, so one of us was with her, but I think kids 4 and older can stay alone. The staff was consistent and got to know our daughters pretty quickly. There are excursions within the property like the bat cave and boat rides which is nice (instead of just staying indoors doing arts and crafts). The family pool was just okay. There's a small shallow part for toddler to play in and also a bigger deeper pool. It's well kept, but I can see how some might say it's time for a renovation (which I believe they are doing). There isn't a very good gradual entry point in the bigger pool, so I would say it's not the most kid friendly for small children (no problem for bigger kids), since there's one step and then it drops off to 4 feet. The beach also is undergoing a lot of erosion along with the sargassum. It's narrow and slightly rocky, so I feel like if you plan on playing in the sand or spend a lot of time in the water, there might be better options. However, it's still quite scenic and perfectly fine for lounging in the recliner. Food was very good (especially breakfast at Casa del Lago), but is pricey like everyone mentions. La Fondita, the tostada restaurant in El Pueblito, is one of the better and more low-key options at Rosewood. There is a consistent kids menu at all the restaurants at Rosewood. We did not get a chance to check out the restaurants at the other hotels. TL;DR - Luxurious and family friendly resort that shines with their accommodations and service. It's relaxing, but quiet and a bit sleepy (might be too quiet for some people). Food is good, but pricey. Kids club is great, but the pool is just okay without easy entry or waterslides. Beach is not best for extended playtime in sand or water. Even so, I still loved it and would definitely return.

The setting is absolutely stunning--lush, tranquil, and meticulously maintained. The villa was private and perfect for unwinding. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout the resort and the ease of getting around via bikes or golf carts. That said, we're giving 4 instead of 5 stars due to a few key issues that impacted our stay. During a rainstorm, the ceiling in our villa leaked, which was surprising given the caliber of the property. The floor on the top deck of the pool was a bit wobbly too. There were also noticeable inconsistencies in service--some team members were incredibly warm and attentive, while others seemed disengaged or confused by basic requests. Upon arrival, Juan, our service person for the week, mentioned he arranged a golf cart and reservations at La Copa but didn't do either. We also felt very rushed at check in, our flight was delayed 40 min, but some guests received bracelets and other nice touches upon arrival we didn't get. Lastly, we ran into frustrating discrepancies with our final bill that took time and energy to resolve at checkout. While these issues didn't overshadow the overall experience, they did fall short of the flawless service we expected from a resort at this level. Still, the beauty of the property and the many highlights of our stay make it a destination we'd consider returning to--with hopes that the service becomes more consistent and infrastructure more resilient in the future. Shout out to Pepe, Rene, and all the cart drivers who were super!

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and taken by boat across the scenic Mayakoba River to the check-in area. We were offered a room upgrade, which we appreciated. However, during our stay, we noticed several areas where maintenance and improvements were needed. For example, the light switches in the restroom didn't function properly, and many of the outdoor light bulbs were out, including the LED lights above the bed. While I understand that proximity to the ocean can cause wear and tear due to saltwater exposure, I believe that management, especially the concierge team, should ensure that rooms are thoroughly inspected before guests are allowed in. On a positive note, the dining options were excellent, and there's convenient access to nearby resorts with the option for room delivery (with a small fee). However, from a management perspective, I noticed a recurring issue with staff members frequently being on their phones. I recognize that this may be for communication purposes to keep staff informed of activities around the resort, but I would recommend a more discreet approach. For instance, hosts standing at the front of a restaurant should avoid being visibly on their phones, as it can come across as unprofessional, especially in a four- or five-star environment. A discussion between management and staff on maintaining a professional presence in front of guests would be beneficial. Lastly, when I shared my feedback regarding these areas for improvement, the management responded promptly with some thoughtful service recovery measures, which I appreciated.

I never had any bites until I left the resort my last night for a wedding ! - food: We ate at both restaurants and the food was excellent. Especially the shrimp and octopus dishes. Cocktails were done right! Not watered down like other places . - beach - this resort seems to have the best beach area as compared to nearby resorts with actual sand The pool is a perfect size and was never crowded . Pepe and staff always took care of you. -gratuity - 16% service was added automatically to your bills. This is not an all inclusive , for the quality of service we made sure to bring $USD to add tip for everyone. They all work so hard in the heat to make your experience memorable! -Spa - Splurge for this! Best way to start our days first thing with massages and facials . You can also use the jacuzzi and steam room daily without services. I frequent Burke Williams and their masseuses are good , strong too ! They did our services outdoor for couples in this serene area with a fountain running. -room - we enjoyed the premium villas, super spacious with walk in closet, shower and bath tub . All the villas are close so a short walk to the pool - There is a little bass coming from the next door resort's DJ at night, but when I closed the windows , it was very muffled and did not bother us at all. - long drive from main road - so expect a secluded spot . They will call you a taxi that gets there in 20 min. Download WhatsApp and text the same taxi will take you back. Felt safe ! We can't wait to come back someday! Definitely highly recommend this place for all couples who just need to relax.

From the welcome coconut drink and cool towels to the thorough tour ( thanks Claudia) ,check in was a great experience. Bellmen we're very friendly and helpful. And our villa was just gorgeous! Heated plunge pool, hammock, and more great you as you enter the area. You are in the jungle, so there is a lot of natural privacy. Inside the villa, you will be caught up in the romantic vibe thanks to the sweet and decadent decor. Outdoor shower brings you close to nature. Many special touches await. Poolside is another area to be spoiled- by Pepe and crew. They will get you anything you want, no need to lift a finger. And the wait staff at Coral restaurant are very thorough. They seem more like personal butlers rather than waiters, taking the time to get to know their guests by name, and learning their food and drink preferences. This area is also beautiful, with a view of the ocean. And the spa is very relaxing, access to the spa facilities including the steam room, jacuzzi is complimentary with your stay. Viceroy isn't without its flaws. The small beach is barely swimable due to the coral/rocks. And though they work to remove the seaweed, if you come from May-Nov that will be somewhat of a pain ( the whole area not just here). And there is music that drifts over from the next door hotel which at times annoys. It wasn't too bad while we were here, but was noticiable. There are mosquitos and rainforest animals around, so if you're not okay with seeing agouti while eating breakfast on your patio, this isn't your place. And yes it's pricey. Nevertheless the quality, service, and beauty of this resort make up for any issues. We didn't want to leave!

The breakfast buffet had a ton of options to choose from and overlooked the lagoon. The bike rides through the property were fun and there were plenty of golf carts to take us around when we didn't feel like walking. At night, the bar by the ocean was perfect for a nightcap and fresh ocean breeze. The only complaint we had was we couldn't stay longer. 10/10 we will definitely be back!

Even though Mayakoba is not an island, the creators of the resort have created the perfect retreat that keeps you feeling isolated and safe. Mayakoba has 4 hotels: The Rosewood, The Fairmont, The Banyan Tree, and the newest being the Andaz. The Andaz offers 4 unique restaurants: Casa Amate, Cocina Milagro, Sotavento, and Tinta del Pulpo (see individual reviews for details). Though comparing the four to each other feels like comparing apples to oranges, the experience at Sotavento could not be matched, as you're having a gourmet meal with toes in the sand adjacent to the beach. Out of the 4 properties, I truly felt the staff at the Andaz were the gold standard. They were always very accommodating, incredibly polite, and competent. If you're looking to bring home a souvenir, I would suggest looking at one of the other hotel gift shops, as the one at the Andaz was tiny and did not provide many options.

I had a couple of maintenance issues that we fixed within a day (phone and TV). The mini fridge only has Amstel Ultra. Gross. First all inclusive I've ever been to they didn't have a beer from the country in which it was located. The bathroom and rain shower were excellent. The food was very good. The 4 main restaurants say they have a dress code, but intermittently enforced. Street tacos until 1 am every day. The coffee shop is open 24 hr and had pastries and ice cream. It's good. They offer some different lunch options which change daily out near the main pool and beach. The employees are excellent and attentive, with one exception (see below). The "speakeasy" is a dance club. A lot of fun. Opens at 10:30. Great staff. The entertainment theatre is indoors. It was ok. I saw parts of two shows. The downside: for the single occupancy cost (I went alone to a wedding), the value was just not there for 720 bucks a night for one person. It's "mostly inclusive". The extras are everywhere with a staggering price tag. Beach cabana, extra, bottle of wine at dinner extra, every Restaurant had some sort of extra experience. Ribeye steak at ember, 80 bucks. There are enough beach and pool chairs for the volume of people. Of course, half of them are reserved with a towel or personal item and unoccupied like every other resort you've ever been to. I find this highly unacceptable. The beach is fairly mediocre. It's not very wide. The are not very many chairs, and it's not very fun to swim in the water there if you can find a break in the endless amount of seaweed. It's fairly rocky. It's just the way the Riviera Maya is. The coast sucks. This is the third resort I've been between Cancun and Tulum and none of them had a good beach. And the seaweed is endless, along with the army of workers and the loud tractors picking it up. The worst part was the understaffed pool bar. This is the main activity pool. We were there for an hour or two each day, it was the same problem, no bar back, only two bartenders, waiting 15 to 20 minutes to get a drink. Tipping them didn't get you any sort of faster service. They barely acknowledged your presence. They seemed genuinely unhappy, and they were really the only employees at the resort that didn't seem like they wanted to be there. So I will not go back to this place. And possibly never to a secrets again.

That special moment aside, this will probably be the nicest resort I ever stay at! We booked on points (before they hiked the points valuation up), and we couldn't believe our luck. We stayed on the Impressions side, which came with a personal butler, access to exclusive rooftops and pool and restaurant, and other added perks. SERVICE The staff here were absolutely incredible, from the swim up bartenders to the cleaning team. Just impeccable from check in to check out. FOOD Seriously, so many options so little time! We loved eating at all of the restaurants here: multiple to choose from meant we never got sick of one thing. We especially loved the Asian spot and the French fine dining one. DRINKS We had tons of fantastic cocktails here! I loved that at each bar and restaurant, there were different specialty cocktails. And the speakeasy?! So cool! POOLS The pool options here are incredible! Tons of options and plenty of room, never felt crowded. We wished the hot tubs were open later to enjoy in the evening, but understand it's a safety issue. AMENITIES Some of my favorite amenities were the room soaking tub, the snacks and desserts set out at the entrance to our building, and the entertainment options: not just the same show every night.

We stayed at the Palafito suites and eventually upgraded our room to a beachfront casita =) Palafito Jr suite. Comes with a butler and is suspended over a little Laguna. It is also the closest room to the beach (besides the beachfront casitas) . The room was nice, airy and you get a rooftop that has an outdoor shower/sun deck. The only annoying thing about this room is that the french blinds did not close all the way.. so its super hard to sleep in! The outdoor soaking tub was also kind of a let down because you have to call your butler to fill it in.. The closest restaurants to this room is aguamarina and ceviche bar =) Beachfront casita Ammmmmmazing room. You get an infinity pool on the roof top with a full size day bed annnnnnnnnd lounge chairs. The roof top is kind of private but you could sometimes see your neighbor. The room itself is huge and you get awesome bath products that smell delightful (Bulgaria bath products I think) . You get two rainfall shower heads but one of our shower heads did not work. Like the palafito rooms, the casitas come with a butler! You can also request don Julio in your room with no extra charge ( the other mini bar liquor that they have are cheap) . You get your own beach access and beach cabana where you can order food from aguamarina and the ceviche bar. We were also able to get breakfast delivered to our room from aguamarina and ate it at our deck. Our butlers samanya, sandra and Jorge were wonderful!!!! The bar staff and servers were also great!! We did not encounter anybody rude nor did anyone sell us any time shares . We booked our palafito room through costco travel which included airfare and airport transfer ( around 4k USD from sfo) annnnnnnnd we went through the hotel to upgrade to the beachfront casitas ( only around 1k USD extra charge!!) Tips: -Book during low season. The hotel normally get booked and could have 200+ people. When we came they only had 45 guests total. So safe to say my husband and I got spoooooiled. - there are beware of crcodile signs everywhere... believe it. We saw one underneath our palafito -lots of little critters around so walk around the resort and enjoy!! ( it's about a mile from our beachfront casita to the front desk) if you're lazy theres golf cart transfers . -if you book the cheap rooms you will be far away from the beach and the restaurants -if you wanna see big crocodiles, eat at ambar restaurant at night.. you can see them if you go outside the deck - please tip! Just because it says it's all inclusive. That doesnt mean you shouldn't tip. Butlers (20-30$ usd atleast) a day per butler, housekeeping ($5 each) , servers and bartenders(5$+) , golf cart transfer (5$) We were very well taken care of during this trip! We appreciated all their hard work. -food was amazing for an all inclusive resort. Ceviche bar was great but do skip the pizzas and burgers (trust me) -food at aguamarina was the best during lunch! Skip Caribbean night at aguamarina.. it was eh Ambar was great kind of like a french fusion dinner. -this resort is not a party resort. Mostly honeymooners and older couples.
