    Thursday night free puppet show

The kiddo absolutely adores this romp room! 4 stars vs 5 due to cleanliness. Do you love seeing the kiddo happy? Do you want somewhere for them to play in the rain? Do you want a beer/wine and to leisurely watch while this occurs? Then this is your place! OMSI has a similar offering but without the adult bevies or grub. Thankfully, this place has both drinks and food. The food prices are a bit higher but kind of goes with the territory. I also appreciate their hours. Accommodates the early risers and the after work night owls. I only wish maybe they'd clean more often. That many kids in one area can spur some pretty rough nightmares! $10 on weekdays, $15 on weekends for an entire day and you only pay for the kids. Don't be fooled though, they get your $$$ with the food and Bev's.

Play area - ball shooting area

Was on a trip with my kids and found this place for my kids to be able to get some much needed energy out. The play place isn't that big and is mostly for smaller kids younger than 8years old I would say. They have a lot of climbing, slides and a ball area with shooting foam balls. They also have a designated area for children 3 years and under. They have a large area indoor and outdoor for the adults to sit and chill while kids are playing. They also have a pretty decent menu that looks great with a variety of drinks and food. They also have all the snacks and juices kids love. They also have alcoholic drinks like beer and wine available for purchase. They have a sign on door that says no outside food or beverages. They also have two areas for parties separated for larger groups like bday parties or such. Parking is free in the back parking lot. But they don't have a lot of spots back there. Overall I would recommend this place for the kids and adults to be able to have a drink and chill.

This place really needs a proper deep cleaning for dust. The amount of dust on the play structures and overhead netting is concerning, especially for a space meant for young children.

I LOVE this place!!! Our kids came when they were younger. I wondered if they'd still enjoy it at age 10 on a visit to Portland - and they did. They ran around for 4 hours straight, made friends, and had a blast! We also liked the food. The pizza is housemade, and the lemonade was made from scratch in front of us. I enjoyed the veggie tray with hummus and appreciated having a glass of wine in the evening. The wifi was fast and free, so I was able to work the entire time. A great place to go on a rainy day with kids AND work!

I'd give this place five stars for the play area but one star for the food area and service! We waited 30 minutes for a $5 lemonade to quench the two year olds thirsts. And there really is no control here as we could have played for free since it appears to be an honor system that you go and pay the $10 per child weekday admission. I mean there were lots of families who just entered the play area and appeared to have not gone to the register at the food area to pay??? But, our two year olds loved the play area and once they got their bearings, they took off and managed to easily get around by themselves.

1 star because my kids loved the place. 2nd star for the truly delicious fresh squeezed lemonade. 3 stars off because the place is just so FILTHY!!!!!! Please, please close this place for one day and dust!!! I won't come back because my son has allergies and the whole time we were in there I was cringing. I made him take a bath as soon as I got home. Luckily he didn't have an allergy attack but I wouldn't chance it again. Just clean!!!! Do you need volunteers???? Let some parents know...hook us up with free passes and lemonade. PLEASE. ‍

What's not to love. Drop the kids off and let them run wild...for the most part. I guess we need to feed them. Child and adult menu, coffee and alcohol...win win. $10 for an hour and $14 for the day.

This location is located by downtown Portland and we parked and walked to the entrance which is on the other side. For one hour, it was $11 and that included one child and an adult. I think we even played for longer than that because my son did not want to leave and he enjoyed every bit of their toddler area. They had so much to do there and the kids were kept busy for hours on end. I would want lights inside of the toddler area since it is a little dark and they can trip over balls or other items. It's still not enough to Knick off a star but it was a great time regardless. There is also food for purchase if you'd like and sit back and let you child's play run wild!

Update: My original review of the unsafe dusty filthy environment was never once checked into by management or the owner of PLAYDATE PDX. The Sharp Metal clamp on the Airguns was at THROAT/NECK level of my3 year old child. This could've caused severe irreversible damage and trauma to my child and others! How unfortunate disgusting of them. I have reported Playdate PDX to BBB. Before we left Playdate PDX I requested to speak with management about the issue and was told a manager was not on staff at the time. It's been over a month. Please take extra caution if visiting here! There are MANY better, safer and more fun exciting indoor play parks all over Portland and Gresham! Try Raindrops playhouse, Monkey King!

Been here so many times for my little toddler. I love that they have a cafe, hand sanitizer everywhere. I just hope that they do a good job of cleaning at least every night but I don't wanna dive deeper and find out they don't lol but my kid loves running around in there and we stay for about an hour or two. The $14 all day is pretty worth it, it just starts adding up with my cafe tab thank goodness for beer and wine! But i usually stick with the chai latte's and snacks. The pizza is really good! And I love that they have kid meal options as well. Just went yesterday and they are having a "STOP COVID PARTY" and it was such a great surprise! Get your booster or vaccine and your kid plays for free all day, plus you get $10 off the cafe for each person vaccinated. Plus they take walk-ins, it's free, and ANYONE with an ID (yes, ANYONE) can get it. Win-win-WIN!

    What age kids?

I'd say any! I've seen maybe up to age 14ish. There's a toddler room for the littles but some smaller kids may wander to the big kid side.

    What's the charge

Play area is something like $5 per kid.

There's just so much to look at and play that it's easy to wander around and keep finding another game you want to try. I know Ground Kontrol is also a bar, but I haven't tried any of the drinks, so I can only speak to the arcade side of things! The game credits are also pretty reasonable. For $20, you get 310 credits, which can actually last a surprisingly long time depending on what you play. I definitely appreciate being able to spend a good chunk of time here without burning through everything immediately. I played Street Fighter, Mario Kart, and a bunch of other arcade games, plus several of the pinball machines. There are so many classics packed into the place that it really does feel like a giant nostalgia trip. Definitely a fun spot if you like old-school arcades, pinball, or just want to relive the feeling of walking into an arcade and being surrounded by like-minded folks who are there to also have fun!

So that we would just be around the corner and popping in here would be easy during our stay. Luckily I was able to come in on two different days, and at different times! We got both the night life experience and the day time experience. I think I preferred the day time because it wasn't as busy. Night means cover charge ($4) and bag check. And no kids. You might see some kids during the day. What a cool place, with yummy drinks (no food), and all my favorite arcade games, and then some! They operate on a card system, so no coins needed when you visit. My pinball wizard friend had been traveling arcade ready with coins in her bag, but it turns out they weren't needed. Ground Kontrol supplies free lockers to store your stuff; just follow the instructions and don't forget your code. I learned a lot about pinball during my visits here, and played more pinball than I usually do because of that. I mean, why not? I played one of the newest pinball games, released within weeks of my visit, which was Pokemon themed, and I played one of the more vintage pinball machines, Xenon. And everything in between! It was awesome. $20 loaded onto a card will get you 15ish games, but there is a different cost depending on which game you're playing. I was satisfied with the value and would, and did! come back again. Highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area! Make sure to check out the whole place, as it's bigger than you think and there are more games (mostly pinball) upstairs.

The Titanic exhibit was really interesting and packed with information about the ship, passengers, and its history. There was a lot to see and read, which I enjoyed, but some of the interactive screens had so much information packed into them that it took quite a while to get through everything. You either end up waiting for the person ahead of you to finish, or you feel pressured to move along when people start piling up behind you. I found myself skipping some of it because of that. A few more screens to spread everything out would have made the experience better. We also watched One World, One Sky: Big Bird's Adventure at the planetarium, which our son enjoyed. The Science Playground was fantastic too. It was really fun watching our son explore and play with all the different activities.
